601  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: June 29, 2016, 07:21:27 PM
is there a voting system planned for this coin, that lets you create polls and determines theres only one vote per user?

No... because a voting system has been in place for years. Cheesy

Qora has had voting for a long time and, if I recall correctly, was one of the first couple of features added after it's initial release.

Although, to clarify, it's not one vote per user.  It's more akin to a stakeholder vote.  Those with a larger stake have a larger say in the outcome.

Then that's exactly what I don't need. I need a blockchain which has the possibility of a separated voting system on top as I want to work with it in a political project. Oligarchy won't work Smiley

I think you could use qora or any other crypto coin that can store data in blockchain by building an app
that uses the block chain. To have a political voting you will have register every voter on the block chain
with some verified document like ID card or passport.
then after the voters have been registered you could distribute a tokens or coins to the voters
so that they could vote by sending a message to a particular address which could be used to
count the votes for particular option(selection) in the voting process.

I hope you understood Smiley
Bye.

602  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: June 27, 2016, 08:00:49 PM
Is it worth harvesting with 16k of XEM ?

No.

If you have a lightweight computer you aren't using, just running NIS on a computer basically uses almost no electricity (although it does love RAM).

I have a hot wallet tipping account with 22k and it occasionally gets a nice block.  I think in the last 30 days it has made $2 at today's prices.

You won't get rich, but if you have Raspi laying around, you don't have anything to lose.

I definitely wouldn't set up a node on Amazon or something where you have to pay monthly fees.

I have and I know people that have lot of old computers PCs with 32 bit intel celeron processor or similar
old stuff. I don't thing this can be suitable to run NIS without heating the space and consuming to much power.

Any ideas about what this computers could be used for?
It would be pity to throw them into garbage :-(

As Lisk holds 80% of Crypti, all the Crypti nodes, and basically continues Crypti in the form of Lisk, these questions should be directed to them. I'm currently 100% focused on our new project Wings.

 Cry Cry Cry

hello.

what is wings?!
Can you share the link here, please?!

Thanks.
604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: May 18, 2016, 05:34:39 AM
Hey guys, I have a really old version of the Qora wallet, how do I update without losing my funds?  If I install and then replace the wallet folder it doesn't work.

Hello.

I think you will have to remove the old data and
download the whole block chanin again from the beginning I mean let the wallet synchronoze from 0.
Also if you have your seed key (I hope for you that you have not lost it) by enetrting this key in the wallet
you should have all your funds there once it has synched.
605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: May 18, 2016, 05:29:53 AM
Is this coin dead?

Nope, the developers are working hard on Nxt 2.0. This will be totally different and will help the scalability problem of the blockchain and cryptocurrency world. Nxt will be again the second generation crypto, always on front with the newest technologies and always creating stuff by itself. Jean-Lux will publish a roadmap soon.  Smiley

Hello.

What would the release of NXT 2.0 solve?
I mean what advanateges or features would it have compared to the current NXT version?
Also what will be with the current NXT version after the 2.0 is released?
Will we have to exchange the current NXT to NXT 2.0 at 1:1 ratio or will there be a new ICO?!

606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: April 17, 2016, 07:17:15 PM

if you go to your account dash board, click the settings cog next to your account address on the left. then go view account details > show remote accounts private key.

to find the config file you need to edit go to c:\<where ever your have nem files>\nis-ncc-0.6.74\package\nis\config.properties (open config.properties with notepad).

edit the following:

#nis.bootKey = #0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef
#nis.bootName = foobar

remove the #'s, all 3.

change the bootkey shown to the private key for your delegated account and change the bootname to anything you want(bootname shows public just so you know)

then:

set "nis.shouldAutoHarvestOnBoot = false" to true.

Hello.

I have a question regarding last auto harvest option.

I use a bash script that was written by Rigel on my vps to start stop the nis and run it as a service.
In that script there is a curl call to "harvest.sh" script to start the harvesting on boot.

Is this call to harvest.sh still needed when there is an
nis.shouldAutoHarvestOnBoot option in the nis config file
or this bash script should be modified to avoid the call to
"harvest.sh" ?

Also is there an updated version of that bash script somwehre in our forum?
Can somebody point me to it bacuse it seems I can't find that bash script on the forum any more! :-/

Thanks.

Hello.

I have noticed also some issues with NIS.

You can read more details here:
https://forum.nem.io/t/nis-crashed-log-message-included/1850/10?u=freigeist

Did anyone notice similar issues?!
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Launch Announcement on: December 23, 2015, 08:05:20 PM

For javascript/html interface, it polls with get/post, but need way to send an event back from the application to the web-browser. This is called "push notifications' or WebRTC.

I have to decide whether the interface should be Angular.JS or just use jQuery or application specific/terminal.

I still have not idea

Writing this interface is a horrible nightmare. It is 5x more work than the exchange back end. This is pure insanity. I cannot believe I have spent two days on this already.

Hello.

Maybe it would be easier to use WEB Sockets in HTML5 coupled with jquery.
I think you are more flexible if you use this because you could define your own protocol and events
by sending JSON or any other format in real time back and forth from the server to the client.

I activated your account. Just use the "forgot password" function to reset your password. Then you should be good to go.

Thanks for the help!
Everything is fine now
I'm good to go! Smiley

Sorry, this account confirmation link is no longer valid.
Perhaps your account is already active?

I don see myself in the user list on the new forum!
Maybe we should deal with this in one place

613  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SKY] Skycoin Launch Announcement on: August 23, 2015, 09:15:55 PM
Update:

Shadowsocks was taken off of github, by government.
https://github.com/shadowsocks/shadowsocks

Shadowsocks is the only way to access the internet from inside of China. This is disturbing.

I am fixing a networking bug that took network down for an hour yesterday. Some types of abnormal disconnections or blocking by the chinese firewall can cause the client to get black listed for an hour and show zero peers. I am removing some of the black list conditions to improve reliability when internet connectivity is being attacked/blocked/disrupted.

Which government?! Chinese or US?!
But if this is removed from github this does not mean is removed from the internet.
There should be a copy somewhere for sure not only of this code but also other codes
that were removed  like truecrypt etc...

Hi Freigeist,

How are you?

Thank you for assisting me. It's possible that the passphrase is wrong yes, otherwise I would've end up in the right account.
Tried to change a few letters or spaces but seem to end up in the wrong account every time.
So it's not possible to use the key for the account, because that one I have correct I'm pretty sure.

Hello Microove.
I'm busy Sad
And how are you? Whaz up?

No problem glad to help if I can.
With the NXT client you could access your account by entering your NXT address NXT-....-... and so on.
It will open your account but then to do any transaction it will require you to enter the passphrase again.
So I thing without the correct passphrase your funds are locked there. I hope you do not have much NXT in yur account.

I'm not expert in NXT but maybe someone with more experience could give you a better answer.
Please try to post here in the official thread on BTT:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=587007.0

or here in the official NXT forum:

Hi,

I've got my passphrase, but now it seems that I'm ending up in the wrong wallet?
Still got the key and adress where the coins are in right now.
Is there a way to retrieve them with the key?

Thanks so much in advance.

If you are ending in the wrong wallet then the reason is for sure that you are entering
a different (wrong) passphrase. You should check for spaces at the begging or at the end if you paste
it from somewhere.

616  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: July 29, 2015, 07:27:42 PM

But can't this issue of closing the wallet be resolved?!
I mean this bug is know since beginning!

That's true. It's known from the very first moment and it's because of forcing the application to be closed by the OS.
So, I cannot surely say that this can be fixed.

I though the user interface was made in java swing?!
Isn't there any on close event triggered that can be handled "listened"
and in which the same routine under FILE->QUIT could be called?!

617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Qora | POS | Assets | Names | Polls | Automated Transactions | Social Network on: July 29, 2015, 07:08:31 PM
i do not know whether it is a bug or not, but i recognized a strange behaviour. i am using version 0.22 and i synchronized the wallet to 100%. A couple of hours later i restarted the wallet and synchronization was at 57%. Then i synchronized again to 100% and a day later, after start same happens again. Synchronization was at 57% again. Any suggestions?

We have created a check point to data folder, this saves you from syncing from scratch (block 1) if the data folder get corrupted.
Data folder get corrupted usually if the application is not been closed properly.
The best way to close the application is by clicking on File / Quit.If you force the application to close by clicking the X button on the top right corner then, more likely data folder will get corrupted.

But can't this issue of closing the wallet be resolved?!
I mean this bug is know since beginning!

618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's with the price of Qora? on: July 27, 2015, 09:16:49 PM
Qora is totally under valued. People will know this if they really spend a few time to learn about it.
.

The only issue is how to make them spend some time to learn. Wink
This issue is not only related to QORA but to all other 2.0 coins.
619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XCR] Crypti | DPoS | 100% own code | Dapps | Sidechains | Dapp Store on: July 27, 2015, 08:33:35 PM

^  nice shilling

why don't head back to the qora thread  Wink

This was not meant as a promotion..even though it may sounded like it is. I posted just to clarify things and to share latest information. My post was relevant to the list of the SAFE network apps posted above.

I also like Crypti and there is room for many cryptocurrencies in this world.

I just took a look at the websites of qora, you can simply upload html sources up to 3000 chars.

No javascript, no css, no database. So it's only possible to make some very basic pages with a few sentences. At Crypti the dapps will not face such restrictions. Smiley

I don't want to talk bad about qora, it is an interesting feature. But not compareable to Crypti. Wink

One source can include multiple sources that means actually one web page can be bigger then 3000 chars
if composed from multiple sources, also some popular js frameworks and libraries  like bootstrap and jquery
are included in the latest version therefore can be just linked within the web page source code. Wink

After update wallet to version 0.6.42 Client info showing that NIS version is 0.6.31? This is normal or Huh

Hello.

I think is not normal! Smiley

Don't know which version you use (standalone or with installer) but that usually means that you have
also older files in the same NEM folder.
I had same issue once when I have just copied the latest version into the folder
where I had an older version but if you have used the installer
to make the update then is something wrong with the installer because I think
the installer should remove automatically
the older files.

The solution at least when using NEM standalone version is to delete the content of the
NEM folder before doing the upgrade.
