Will this run on Suse 12.3?

I have a nice Xi3 Z3RO machine with 4GB of RAM and 128GB mSATA drive; the machine uses about 4watts of power and fits in the palm of your hand, I would like to if its possible to use it as a pool server but for bitcoin.

Unsure what Xi3 is? go to www.xi3.com

Thanks

Anyone know the maximum current the onboard fan headers can supply ... on avalon gen1 b2?

12v 1.5A.

You might be able to 3Amp fan in but the more amperage the fan is the more stress you put on the power supply.

Hi All.

My Avalon 4 Module has been working fine, over-clocked at 350 (on OEM PSU) and suddenly not working anymore.

I can access Luci via Wifi and have re-started, rebooted and power-cycled to no avail.

When I look at the Cgminer API Log I see:
[Firmware Version] => 20131229
cgminer: 698d677
cgminer-openwrt-packages: aadd747+
luci: 346e3e7+
Socket connect failed: Connection refused

I have the API Allow set to W:127.0.0.1
I have been able to Ping and Traceroute.

I cannot figure what the heck I am doing wrong.

Thanks in advance!

I would also confirm your miners IP address is setup correctly. Granted it worked before you should still confirm the gateway it still pointing to the same gateway your other miners or computers use on the network.
604  Bitcoin / Hardware / Question on: January 15, 2014, 12:22:36 PM
Is anyone manufacturing the newer controller boards and modules for the current Avalon Gen1 machines (batches 1, 2 and 3) with support and the 55nm chips?

I would love be able to update my B1 and B2 to a 55nm module and controller card instead of having to buy a whole new system.

605  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Newbie miner : Please can anyone help with avalon 200ghs mining machine ?? on: January 15, 2014, 12:17:48 PM
Avalon doesn't make a 200GH/s mining rig. What you have is an Avalon clone/knock off.

Any update on the site? Have we hit a stale block? Payouts have stopped coming since yesterday morning, I am almost to the 24 hour mark and have only received 2 payments, less than what I am supposed to make every 24 hours at my hashing.

Thanks.

yup, looks like people haven't been feeding their miners enough fiber again.  We have another blockage...  And just when I get my antminers working...mostly... and sextuple my hashing power...

LOL. I just setup my Ice Fury's tonight too, now I can finally get rid of these 335MH/s USB miners, only if Bitminter was working, I mean for real!

You guys still using this pool ? If so what somtware did you end up using ? I got the A1 port of cgminer, was hopint to be able to just let the Java miner run it, 1 person said it worked @1.6gh I will just add another asic to get to 2gh Smiley

BFGMiner for my Ice Fury's, and I have my Avalon's pointing directly to Bitminter.com

Have we hit another stale block again?

I have only received two payouts today, the last few days I have received 6 each day.

Thanks,.
610  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Ice Fury (nano fury) support thread. on: January 15, 2014, 12:25:47 AM
I got in on the pre-order for the Ice Fury and took up the option to get a Red Fury at a slight discount.  They arrived today and so far I've not been able to get the Ice Fury to work.  The Red Fury is working and giving me what I expected as for a hash rate.

So first I'd love help getting the Ice Fury to be seen.  I installed the driver which worked just fine for the Red Fury but when I go into bfgminer it shows one device which is Bitfury BF1 from BFMG.  If I do the + to add a device, bfgminer doesn't find the Ice Fury.  I'm running Windows 7 Pro and bfgminer 3.9 x64.  One odd thing is when I go into Device Manager the Ice Fury is showing up under Universal Serial Bus Devices and is listed as NanoFury NF1 v0.7.  The working Red Fury is showing up under Ports (COM & LPT) as Bitfury BF1 USB Miner (COM4).  I would expect both to show up in the same spot, I've tried reinstalling the driver for the Ice Fury but no luck from the bfgminer download.

The next part I'd love some help with is the batch file for bfgminer.  Once I get the Ice Fury working I'd like to have them as different workers so I can keep an eye on them.  Would this be a good config, I also have tried to disable GPU mining and neither the -G or --disable-gpu works.  Of course my actual batch file doesn't have me.worker1 or Password.

bfgminer.exe -o stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u me.worker1 -p Password -o stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u me.worker2 -p PASSWORD -S all
Hi Krazy, i have been running them on 3.8 windows 7 Pro my start string is
bfgminer.exe -S "NFY:all" --set-device NFY:osc6_bits=54 -o stratum+tcp://stratum.mining.eligius.st:3334 -O address, When you plug it in does windows see it as a USB device or a HID device? I installed zadig and it started identifying he devices as Libusb instead if HIDUSB and bfgminer then didnt see it until I removed that device driver from the system and it again appeared as  HID compliant device. (check device manager which group it shows up under may give a clue)
Thank you!  It really was as simple as uninstall the driver and this time I clicked delete driver.  Windows did a rescan and it started working in bfgminer.

So are you saying you need to uninstall the driver that assigns COM ports to your USB keys?

Thanks,
611  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoins at the local retailers on: January 14, 2014, 11:17:47 PM
With the roll out of Bitcoin ATM's I am surprised people aren't focusing on a Bitcoin cash register for retail stores. A lot of hard thinking will need to go into making one so that it's secure; it will probably have to work like a POS system were there is a computer in the back room that would handle the transaction just in case someone go crafty and tried to steal the cash register. Smiley

And ATM's are only good for putting money into digital wallet and not actually giving you away to spend it!

Putting bitcoin ATM's into Starbucks or Tim Hortons and providing the retailer with a way for the customers to use their bitcoins to buy a coffee and snack works both ways for the company who manages the ATM and the retailer.
612  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 2014 – Top 10 predictions on: January 14, 2014, 11:05:02 PM
I think this year we need to see exchanges taking a more responsibility role with its clients trades and making sure the transaction between the buyer and the seller goes smoothly. Currently this doesn't happen so when people get ripped off by exchanges they simply stop believing bitcoin can really be something and rid themselves of it all together, these same people may also tell their other investment friends and family members to avoid bitcoin like the plague.

It sounds like the bitcoin exchanges (across the board) look at bitcoin as a hobby and don't take it serious enough.

614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you ever consider insuring your bitcoin holdings? on: January 13, 2014, 03:28:33 AM
Although I think my bitcoins are fairly safe.... if I had a pretty large amount of bitcoins then yes I would seriously consider getting them insured.

Same thing applies to cash, some people would rather hold it themselves and take their own security measures....other's would rather keep it in the bank of security and insurance reasons.

I think offering insurance on bitcoins is something A LOT of regular every day people would want to do ,  we can sit here and talk about how to make paper wallets and keep things secure etc etc but I think for the average person it's a bit too confusing and they'd much rather pay a small annual fee to know if something ever happened they won't lose their money.

Sounds like your giving the bansters a way into bitcoin. Smiley
615  Other / Meta / Suggestion on: January 13, 2014, 02:15:29 AM
I know this is probably the wrong forum to ask or suggest as it maybe. But I think it would be nice to see maybe a sub forum setup were by people can start listing real life stores, etc., that accept bitcoin as an alternative currency in their city or town.

This way others who travel there, or who live there that are on BitcoinTalk may actually find it very useful and of course it may attract vendors to start offering bitcoin as an alternative currency.

What do you think?

616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keiser Report: Let's Encrypt the Internet! (E548 ft. Kim Dotcom) on: January 13, 2014, 02:11:03 AM
How much would that drop the price?

$5.00 per BTC

Seriously ? I will be ready to buy.

Also, would this be a temporary price drop ? Will it take a LONG time to regain the original price if that happens ?

No one knows. But at the way things are right now where the price of bitcoin is keeping at a steady $1000 CAD at MtGox if the price does drop it will eventually; in a week or two; climb back up to $1000 per BTC.
617  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock.com's News on Accepting Bitcoin, Underwhelming Price Boost. on: January 13, 2014, 01:50:13 AM
As the title says, seems like people were expecting some lunar performance, but got some down-to-earth performance.

Do you think that Overstock.com's acceptance was a significant thing for the price of bitcoin? If yes, let us know.

The US Government is going to sell the FBI's stash of Silk Road's bitcoins this week so expect the price of bitcoin to drop to $5.00 per BTC
618  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you ever consider insuring your bitcoin holdings? on: January 13, 2014, 01:26:06 AM
My house, my car, my life, my income, my health are all insured.

Why wouldn't I want to insure my bitcoins?   I didn't write Armoury.  I have no way of knowing that their seed can be trusted. And some random person's opinion on an Internet forum is unlikely to change that.

At least I can sue the Lloyd's names.  I sincerely doubt that the creator of Armoury has sufficient assets to cover losses if the program is found to be fatally flawed for some yet to be determined reason.

Bitcoin I don't think has evolved enough yet to have any "real" insurance for it's own currency. But lets take this back a step, what needs to happen first is the Exchanges need to become more responsible and manage all trades between the buyers and sellers of bitcoin which will help stabilize bitcoin more, this way corporate companies like insurance companies which you have clearly depended on will be happy to provide you with a policy to protect your bitcoins as they will feel more comfortable in dealing in bitcoins knowing that when they exchange their coins for fiat they won't be scammed.

620  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The cyber attacks are coming >>INCOMING<< on: January 13, 2014, 12:37:54 AM
Increasing news of any company using credit card transactions are causing a scare on the people -- since the leaked information also contains not only very basic information about the person -- but more detailed stuff such as your security questions/answers as well as in certain cases your SSN, places you have lived, etc.

The problem is at the very core, these bankers don't know how to keep anything secure -- at all. They can't and won't do it. Why trust them with YOUR information AND currency when countless times they keep failing. It is too late for most of us, but not our kids.

At least with Bitcoin, hackers take the coins and nothing else. That information/currency/value is 100% separated from transactions since we have the network. This is impossible with the banking systems in play today.

Bitcoin is here again ready to spin a new pop up word.

Enjoy the ride.

I personally think the corporations that allow their networks to be attacked where by confidential client information is stolen should be closed down for good because they obviously didn't think hard and good enough when it came to their security. Granted nothing is 100% full proof if it's properly managed and maintained the thread can be reduced drastically and the damage and or leak can be kept a very minimum.

Banks are nitorious for leaks. A friend of mine worked for CIBC on contract back when they were being investigated by the Securities for leaking confidential client information. What happen was CIBC had a bunch of NT 4.0 workstations that were still being used by others over their network, all the users on this network of machines had Administrator access, the person or persons who compromised the network stole a bunch of financial data that consisted of very sensitive data from a hard drive.

Almost all high-end printer/fax/copier machines have hard drives in them now, when your leased device go back to the manufacture the hard drive isn't properly disposed it and whoever buys your device next gets access to all the data you have scanned, faxed, and photocopied.

It's obvious that as human beings we don't have any high regards for protecting confidential information, so it's no surprise people get their bitcoin wallets hacked.
