The Bolts are still leading, but it's just a 4-point game. Actually, ROS managed to win the 3rd quarter as they outscored the Bolts by 3 points (21-18). Either team could win here because, in most scenarios of a close game in the 4th quarter, it's hard to predict the winner. I'm wondering, what was the spread of this game? Did @bisdak manage to place a bet?

I didn't manage to place a bet on the first game as i plan to bet with a handicap but that was not offer on the time i open my phone, could have been a big win for me if i place an ML bet for Meralco. Just observed that Meralco was playing with almost all of their core players so it's understandable that they bet ROS.

Only managed to bet for NorthPort ML @5.7, almost end of the first half and the score is 41-49 with Converge leading. Hope NorthPort would come back in the second half and win the game.
603  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Axie Infinity Philippine Thread on: July 28, 2023, 08:12:46 AM

Great catch with a nice odd with that kind of handicap, like what you mentioned that's a quick transfer for gamblers who wanted to enjoy some sports gambling, as you can simply pick your game and place your bet, if you win you can directly send it back to your gcash and knowing how easy this platform, you can just drop in a small store and cash in or cash out your money.

Yeah, that was a great catch. It comes to my mind that i will go all-in, meaning i will bet all that was in my wallet that time because of that attractive odds but there is something in me saying that it was a not a wise move hehe. Betting through Gcash is so convenient but it's a double edged sword, it might make you rich or broke if not manage properly so gamble only what you can afford to lose or better not gamble.  Cool

Moving back to the topic, ROS and Converge might be my team for these two upcoming games..

NorthPort ML @5.70 vs Converge

^^ My bet on the second game, i think NorthPort had a fighting chance here.
605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - November on: July 28, 2023, 02:14:10 AM
A bit shocked when I saw Tank Davis being competed now against Naoya Inoue. The dude just won in his new weight class but Davis is still too far, I doubt he will be fast enough to go on the weight class of Davis.

I've got a question before this fight happens and if ever Inoue wins it.
Do you think it's unfair that he could get all four major organization belts in just 2 fights in the Super Bantamweight? I mean, he could just leave those four belts again after he beat Marlon Tapales (if ever) and then he climbs up to the next weight class. It won't give the other boxers a chance like the number 2 or number 3 to try and get a shot and challenge Inoue. I respect the no rematch clause but what if the boxers lower than them could actually be the weakness of Inoue?
Marlon Tapales did beat Murodjon Akhmadaliev in an upset, Tapales was a heavy underdog in that match and yet he snatch both belts against the popular champion. All I am saying is, anything is possible.

Davis and Inoue is 13lbs apart if i'm not mistaken and if ever Top Rank would risk their ward to fight the Tank then in will be in the catchweight.

Assuming Inoue would beat Tapales, i think he would not go up directly to Featherweight because that would be too risky considering his size. Maybe two or three fight in the super bantamweight before considering on moving up but hopefully on those three fights before going up he could face the best boxer of the Philippines right now, Quadro Alas. Casimero is likely the fighter that could beat Inoue as the latter has the speed and power and the most important thing he has the guts and no fear/respect on the capabilities of Inoue.

On our local bookies i managed to get a nice bet as i'm betting for TNT +18.5 @1.99, different from crypto bookies.
~snip~

Nice job, kabayan! Regardless, TNT still covered the spread, but it's good you were able to get 1.99 odds. Was that from live betting? Because the odds are high, it's supposed to be only 1.90 and below if it's pre-game odds.

It's pre-game odds kabayan. The odds drop when the TNT katropa led by almost or 20 points in the first quarter.

TNT +18.5 @1.99
TNT +19.5 @1.86
TNT +20.5 @1.79

Above were the pre-game odds on our local bookies, two hours before the game to be exact. Maybe next time we can't see this kind of odds when TNT is playing as they always cover the spread when bookies put this wide margin.

Unfortunately, NLEX didn't cover the ML though they win the game but -14.5 is enough for those who backup TNT before the game, while for those who made their bets during the live game when TNT is leading they've got that chance to make some good win here, TNT start strong but again, out of gas in the last run, while NLEX push everything but not enough to bring that joy with the fans who back them to cover the handicap.

Yup, NLEX didn't cover the spread as they only lead by 13 points but that is not without a scare as they led by as much as 20 points with 2 minutes to go, fortunately TNT had a rally on that 2 minutes that closed the gap to just 13 points. When TNT was up by 20 points in the first quarter i thought that was money in the bag for TNT but they run out of gas starting from the second quarter up to the fourth. This TNT team is so unpredictable.

On our local bookies i managed to get a nice bet as i'm betting for TNT +18.5 @1.99, different from crypto bookies.

609  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title on: July 27, 2023, 01:33:09 AM
@bisdak40. The fight is speculated to occur on November. The venue might also be in Japan. However, Inoue's promoters should begin organizing his fights in Las Vegas if they want him to become a big name like Pacman.

Thanks for this information mate, have already updated the OP and also the title, reflecting November as the tentative date of the fight.

I also wonder why have they not bring Inoue to the Sin City where he can be more popular if he frequents there. Anyway, it is up to Top Rank what is good or not good for their cash cow.

Well, Tapales has the chance, but I doubt he will be able to dethrone Inoue. Regardless, however, this is the fight of his life. This is already a huge achievement for him. To be given the chance to face Naoya and, more importantly, to become the unified champion, is a big opportunity he couldn't afford to miss. He should be giving his all not just during the fight but even during the training. Defeating Naoya and unifying the belts mean a lot.

Agree, this is a tough one for our compatriot but the fight itself is already a win for Tapales as seldom a Filipino boxer will be on this kind of stage, biggest fight of his life and for sure the biggest payday as of date. The good thing about Filipino boxers when up against the world and nobody expected him to win, it will give them the motivation and often they rise to the occasion and shock the whole world when the final bell rung.

Isn't the KO illegal already as Fulton had touched the ground with his glove but Inoue took the chance to another left resulting in Fulton falling? I have the feeling that Fulton will complain about this soon. This guy has been looking for some reason not to fight Inoue since May and then this technical issue happens. He is going to make it an issue.

It looks like a David vs Goliath fight but it's an absolutely dominant win for Inoue since round 1.

I reviewed that sequence but IMO that's not illegal because it's the momentum of Inoue that cause him to punch Fulton while he was going to touch the canvass. Fault of the referee as he was so slow to grab Inoue for him to not punch anymore.

Nevertheless i don't think that knockdown will warrant a protest on Team Fulton as Inoue beat him "fair and square" from the opening salvo.

I have thought that Fulton could somehow make a resistance but turns out that i'm wrong as Inoue easily dismantle the bigger Fulton.

But i do have a feeling that he might be still that trying out to unify all the belts on Junior featherweight
which he might be doing that before going one step once again.

Yeah, there's already a talk regarding the unification even before this fight started. Tapales being the owner of the other two belts is just waiting on who will emerge as the winner of the fight last night, turns out that Tapales will be fighting the tough Japanese monster Inoue and there are speculations that the unification will happen at the fourth quarter of this year. BTW, you can check my thread for Inoue vs Tapales unification fight, i put down a link below.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5461063.msg62602479#msg62602479

Looks like Inoue (if victorious against Tapales) will be having a hard time fighting on the Featherweight division due to his size. Guys like Ramirez is quick and tall and could pose more problems to Inoue.

May good news tayo mga kabayan.
Ito yung balita ~ Jordan Clarkson confirmed to play for Gilas in FIBA World Cup

614  Economy / Gambling discussion / [Boxing] Inoue vs Tapales for Unified Super Bantamweight Title - December 26 on: July 26, 2023, 01:07:54 AM

ctto

Venue: Japan (tentative)
Date: November (tentative)

Marlon Tapales was given the go signal to fight either Fulton or Inoue for the unified title and with the latter winning the bout last night, Tapales vs Inoue is a sure go AFAIC.

Inoue have said that he will be the unified champion at the end of the year so most likely this fight will happen on the fourth quarter of the year.

With Inoue's superb performance last night, do you think that Tapales has a chance to dethroned Inoue and became the first ever Filipino boxer to unified the four prestigious belt?

Unfortunately, still not this time as Mags continue the domination, that second half run brings them the lead that covers the handicap, lucky for those who manage to pick them up during a live game for sure there are good changes while the game is ongoing, there're some instances that Phoenix manage to take the lead but then again Mags showcase their talents and not to allow any possibility that Phoenix will going to disappoint them.

Magnolia Hotshots seems to be so serious on their PBA on-tour campaign as they continue to dominate and blew opponents out and they still manage to cover that huge spread. I thought that I will win my bet as it appears like Phoenix is fighting hard but Magnolia had a good run in the fourth that ruined my night.

Games for tomorrow:

Dyip vs Magnolia
NLEX vs TNT

Wonder what would be the spread on the first game.
616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: July 25, 2023, 12:11:31 PM
The main event is coming up next; you should find ways to watch the game so you will not miss a good fight. I'm wondering if Inoue is still the same, or Fulton would be able to find a way to give Inoue his first defeat. For Fulton to win, it should be via KO, as he can never win the judges in Japan, even if he is the defending champion. It's a tough battle for him.

Tough battle indeed for Fulton, he should KO Inoue to get the win. No live streaming thus far in Facebook so we will just wait for the result and review the fight on youtube videos.

Does anyone here see the controversy on the gloves that to be used on the fight, it should be new but the gloves that are supposed to be used by Inoue have a sealed broken meaning it has been opened and Team Fulton speculated that it is a used gloves, another antics by Team Inoue.

If anyone of you was not aware, the Japanese are known in using psychological warfare before the fight to cause more anxiety to an opponent who is already suffering from anxiety because the fight. They used this against Nonito Donaire in his rematch vs. Inoue. It was rumored that random people would knock on Nonito's door every hour who are pretending to be fans to prevent him from sleeping. There were also other issues like not allowing Nonito's gloves to be used and other little problems like no chairs, no water available in his locker room.

However, it appears Fulton's team is very smart. They are using the Japanese tricks against Inoue's team so Fulton can rest and concentrate only on the fight hehehe.

Ohh, this is not good but there might be some truth to this. I hope Fulton is aware of this tactics and be ready to whatever those Japs threw at them. Might be that "cake thing" was one of them.

Nevertheless, i will still follow my gut feeling that Inoue would win this by decision as the judges will favor the homeboy  Cheesy, Fulton will not be knockout because he will be too cautious of Inoue's power so i'm pretty sure this would go the full distance.

George Kambosos will be back in action,

https://www.boxingscene.com/photos-george-kambosos-maxi-hughes-set-showdown-shawnee--176323

So after losing all his belts to Haney, Kambosos is back against Maxi Hughes tonight. This is going to be a comeback fight for him so let's see if Maxi will be a good tune up fight or George doesn't have it anymore.

But I expect George to win in the later rounds by stoppage. Maxi is 3:1 underdog.

Kambosos won the fight, but I was personally unimpressed on how he fight and it seems he was gifted with this win. Even after Kambosos won, and in his interview i the ring, you can hear the boos in the background.

But he justify that there are close rounds and he could have been favored by the judges. However, as we say, a win is a win, so Kambosos got lucky and so his career continues again with Top Rank.

It's funny though that the commentator has said that Joseph Mason should be in the Christmas list for George Kambosos for that 117-111 score hehe. I expect that this would be tough for Kambosos because like Maxi, he has not fought any big name expect for Teo Lopez. Even before the fight, Kambosos has been calling out Davis which i think a disastrous move because Davis not like Teo but i think a wise move money-wise as this might be a retirement fight for him.

Congrats to those who bet for George but that was not a juicy odds, if my memory serves me right, it was 1.61 for George to win by Decision.

Back-to-back wins Kabayan! Nice upset from both under dogs, NLEX wins against Converge no need for a handicap and then Gin kings ML is really sweet as they beat the unknown reason to be a favorite after that win against Phoenix, but today they didn't possess that aggressiveness to win against the Gin kings.

Another addition to cover those losing streak Kabayan bisdak! Congrats!

Thanks kabayan but the battle is far from finished hehe. This time around, it was the Ginebra Kings that got huge help from their 3on3 players with Cu contributing 8 points but the interesting thing on the game last night is that it was only Khobuntin who scored double digit for the Katropa with 25 points, all his teammates only manage to score single digit.

Odds for Magnolia vs Phoenix is already out and the spread is too wide as far as I'm concerned, is this another gimme?

Though I think this is a clear win for the Hotshots but i don't think they can cover the spread this time around.
