Promote locally, sell locally. What do you suggest tradehill do? They are trying their best.
Yes, develop your local network of trading partners so you can lessen your reliance on the exchanges which will likely be brought under "know your customer" regulations sooner rather than later.

just a suggestion; because those linear grooves in the rotor are parallel you might consider engraving the "BTC" without the arc to make it align more properly. the arc collides with that pattern it seems. at any rate please make that engraving precise and cosmetically appealing since in essence "this" is what you're selling.
Yes, wait until you see it in real life. The the way the light reflects off of the decorative pattern makes it difficult to capture the beauty in a photograph (and it makes it look distorted). You can get a better idea by looking at the picture of the gold version. We will get more photos posted as they come off of the production line. The photo above is of the prototype. Thanks!

#2 of 500 has sold. Next available is #3.

A quick note: Each watch comes with a signed Letter of Authenticity which will show the number in the collection. Of course 1/500 is already taken.

I am a part-owner in Horolotech and I was instrumental in putting together this project. Horolotech uses a private-label watch manufacturer to produce these watches. Ironically, this manufacturer shares the same initials “BTC” and we didn't have to change the rotor at all. We simply used one of their in-house rotors. After making a few modifications and customizations, we rebranded this model as a “bitcoin” version for the bitcoin community. This model is strictly limited to 500 pieces and it is one of the most beautiful watches I have ever seen. It is made for the bitcoin community and it can only be purchased with bitcoin. As a long-time collector of luxury watches I can assure you that the Horolotech Bitcoin Chronograph will be a watch that you can treasure, share and be proud of.

is it my eyes or is the "BTC" a bit crooked?
It has a slight arc to it by design. Better pictures will be forthcoming.

Any proof that that's a real 7750? Some detailed shots of the movement would be nice
With your purchase you get a 10-day inspection period. You can have it checked out and you can send it back in unworn condition if you don't like it for any reason.

BTC = BEGUELIN & Co S.A. DAMAS Tramelan Swiss watch movement manufacturer Sorry to spoil the fun Incorrect. The movement is manufactured by ETA a company owned by The Swatch Group. These are the same movements used in many of the major luxury brands. Very few watch companies make their own movements.

Curse you, Trader Steve! Sometimes I think you're just taunting me with items of luxury I can't afford! First gold bars! Now this! What's next? A personal jetback? Sharks with lasers on their heads? Seriously though, I've been interested in getting a real mechanical chronograph for a while now. I just need to convince myself that the expense is justified. Hopefully bitcoins will shoot back up to 30. LOL. There's a reason why we work so hard - to enjoy the fruits of our labor!

Damn, that's a nice looking watch. Yes, it looks even better in real life. The chronograph seconds hand is a "bitcoin" gold with gold accents on the dial. The pictures don't do it justice.

http://app.bitlaundry.com/I've had the site down for most of a week, because I discovered a couple of *potential* holes that needed plugging. Back up and running, now, with the most important hole-plugging done, so launder away! (BTW, if you just want a single-hop transaction bounce: http://www.bitcoinlaundry.com/ (yeah, it's similar)) Mike, can you give us an example of where the "single hop" would be more advantageous than the other?

Question: Does this help with anonymity or does it create some "plausible deniability"?

Jeremy, that is awesome! Will be sending lots of business your way!

Well, i don't know how to say this without offending anyone.
For me, it looks like a cheap mechanical wrist watch with a generic asian clockwork (probably by some company called "BTC"?) or maybe with a custom engraving of these three letters.
Worth: probably 5$.
Correct me if i'm wrong.
100% Swiss Made. The movement alone runs between $400 and $800. Search "Valjoux 7750 ETA". This is a "Top" grade movement.

Spare us the puritanical hypocrisy. This is business. Keep going strong Jeremy, your site is fantastic.
I'm speaking strictly from a business point of view. I believe this will hurt his business.

Duncan,
Thanks for putting this together. Hopefully someone will take it and run with it. People deserve privacy in their personal affairs.
