I'd be surprised if a 6-board kit came in under $500, and honestly $600 seems more likely. Looking at around 2.6TH at about 0.3W/GH would be a steal at under $400, when you'd have to put down about $750 for that hashrate (at worse efficiency) from S5.
There should be a little price break for the kits, no heatsink and no case assembly from workers. Granted the efficiency alone makes you drool. Hopefully gone are the miners which are $2 k plus when released.

I really wish
1) They would of included the controller inside the case like an S5.
2) Was priced cheaper
I don't understand why they don't just mass produce this miner, sell it cheaper then Bitmain's S5 and make millions. Instead selling small quantites but larger profit margins.
Apparently until they get the price right or deliver a better product ahead of the competition we wil be hit with a higher price. Avalon isn't geared up and able to afford huge runs of chips and components until they have a winner that makes profit to do so in the future. For now they have to stick to small quantities and higher prices. Better marketing would definitely help them and other suppliers not just one.

So unofficially the S4+ will be released soon, about the same time as these invisible S2 upgrade kits. So that tells me they probably are going to be near the same specs. of each other. Looks like the next gen will be late summer then for a so called S6. All speculation of course.

What size screws are used on the S2 case? Have a few needing replacement. Just take one to your local hardware store and match the thread and length. Most hardware giants don't deal with tiny screws still searching. I guess I will put a ticket in with the big B.

Bitmain does the same thing with announcing a product and then nothing solid for weeks. But SFards nothing not even a chime in on the forum.

Your welcome. Happy to relieve some stress. Good Luck.

There is a rumor that S4+ will soon be available. Dear BITMAIN, we want (and need) new chips. New miners. Not polished old hardware like S3++, S4+... p.s. and please don't forget about S2 uprade kits. Any more details on this rumor? Confirmed with Bitmain. S4+ inbound should be announced officially soon.

You upload your pics to something like imgur.com which I prefer. They have preset links set ie. BBCode (message boards & forums). Just copy and paste into text box. Otherwise copy and paste your pic using the toolbars above the form and inserting your online address image. HTH

Yah the price would need to be near Bitmains S5 now to regain anything at all. Too bad their price point is a $100 more than what's feasible for us to buy it at. It looks like a great product due to it's solid compact build and especially the silence. Wish this would have come out at the end of the last year.

I believe you have an ip conflict. Try running your miners with a static ip. ( Dhcp is bad because everytime your phone or tablet or pc connect to your network when away or off your router tries to assign a new one. With lots of devices your router can get confused. ) This is example of my settings assumes your home router is ip 192.168.1.1 but if it's not then change yours accordingly ie. 192.168.2.1 Set to static, add netmask and gateway / dns settings. Apply. Set your new static ip's just outside of dhcp range. Mine start at 201 then 202 and so on. This way your router will never conflict with ip's changing on your network. Changing this helps easily remember your ip's for rigs to check them at will instead of being random.

Check Miner status page and verify all your asic chips are functioning. This will be displayed with the lines " ooooooo oooooo oooooooo. If any show an x or - try rebooting.
|
|
|
Check to see if all your network settings are the same. Dns and such. Also check to make sure your workers aren't the same. Some sites allow for same worker. Do you use a static ip?

It comes zipped. Unzip to folder then search through ant gui firmware update for the tar.gz file.

Looks like no news this week due to another Holiday. After tuesday next week there should be some hopefully. Still believe this price point with assumed specs. should be around $350-$400 mark. Edit- S5's sold out ... Looks to be an interesting next week maybe.

I'd prefer to avoid involvement with hairy johnsons.
I know Mike Bighawk and Harry Johnson are not involved, that's for certain.
|
|
|
Are you involved now? You can be very much involved with not being involved at all. Hope that clears things up.

It's wrong in so many ways just sell the as used like they did with the S4's. Being up front is good business not just on top.

|
|
Updates please. A week out or two? Something.. gonna unplug my S2's "for cleaning".

Well done @Notlist3d. Appreciate the review. Youtube videos are always a plus. Enjoy your new miner. Now if we could find one that doesn't generate heat!

WOW, can't believe they went tits up and now trying the same game under different name.
They were respectable until the whole BlackArrow thing but like all(most) crypto companies large and small they set up shop one day gone the next. That's why these forums are needed.
