This coin hurt itself with all the fake buy walls/"blackshield" bullsh*t. The price is constantly being manipulated and propped up artificially, this is a pretty big deterrent for new investors (I'm not talking about day traders who are just here for the local minima and local maxima). So, now the price is stuck in some sort of limbo with some of the people who bought in back when it was sub 1k sporadically cashing out for their huge profits and pushing the price back down to the fake floor while all the people who bought in high during the pump(s) are waiting/wanting for it to rise again through an influx of new investors but, guess what, new investors don't want to invest in a coin that is already artificially high priced; a coin where most the big bag holders got in very early and all it would take is one rogue sell-off for huge profits to crash the market at this price range.
How many people are actually invested in BC? How many people have wallets? Now, keep in mind that in no way do all of those wallets belong to different people. How is the distribution? 50%+ owned by the top 100? At this point, are there enough people involved to support a significantly larger market cap than the current? Are there even enough people to support the current market cap without the help of fake buy walls and the "blackshield"?
Im not sure if you understand how it works, the BlackShield is not a fake buy-wall. Its just combined purchase power. The blacksheild gets its bTC from people trying to buy Blackcoin! And if the BS gets breached, then all those people that donated will get the BC that they earned, and the wealth will spread out some more. Think of it like this. Say I have 100k BC, That is a good amount, but not huge. If I have 100k BC I don't care about getting 20 more BC a day payout from the pool. I care about increasing the value of my 100k BC by even fractions of a %. I can do this by combining all my bc/btc from the pool with thousands of other peoples to create a massive buy-wall. It helps to secure the 'value' of my 100k BC and eventually it could get big enough to be nearly unbreach-able by any single dumper. Just the BS being in existence is going to be huge for us. Even if it was only 100bTC it would be a psychological barrier against dumping your coins. I'm sure it will happen many times. But it will soften of the blow of any dump. And when it gets breached and my % of btc gets turned into bC I will just get a bigger payout. Is a win, win win. There is nothing fake about it. Its just a force multiplier. |

MintPal is a business. They're going to add whatever altcoin has high volume. Also I like MintPal's UI. It just looks so clean. They also donated 50K BC to our Coinkite cause. This is a very interesting situation since I'm sure MintPal doesn't want to get involved in the politics of this situation. Probably trying to figure out what to do since this is unprecedented.
Everything is not always about profit, adding WhiteCoin was a slap in the face. I understand they have to keep adding coins to the exchange, but they can also be mindful of their current partners. They have a chance to help BlackCoin go to the next level by giving us our own pair and help us become totally independent from BTC. We now have Vault Of Satoshi which will allow us to buy BC directly without the hassle, and having our own pair will be the last piece of the puzzle. I tend to agree with IC on this. I was pretty peeved when mintpal added WC literally 'instantly' after we started to make some big movement. Most coins including BC had to push really hard to get a slot on 'the hottest new exchange'. We made them hundreds of thousands of dollars of income on BC volume alone and they just instantly grant access to a blatant copy-premine clone. Its shitty. It really is. To anyone who says "its business they will just add whatever is profitable" I ask you to compare this behavior to almost any other industry you wouldn't keep your customers very long. Imagine what would happen if you pushed around clients, or took on competitors of your clients without so much as a interview process. You wouldn't keep your clients very long, and your business would eventually suffer. I've moved a massive amount of coins out of Mintpal already. No one is perfect, everyone needs to protect the bottom line. They've lost some of my business already based on principal. Its not always about profit. |

Well said cryptolemaik, pretty much nailed it. I'd say the vast majority of people that are in it for the long term see it this way as well. Blackcoin has huge potential and will go far, but let's not risk that with short sighted greed.
How bad did the last 'pump' hurt us? 70% sustained higher price? I'm all for not doing anything public, and rewording short term profiteering. But one way or another the sooner I get they're coins the better. |

This will do a few things, add more interest to the pool that is constant buy support, add more buying from of BC from while taking value from other crappy coins, showing BC getting more value. I think this is a fair compromise for all, let's instead of pumping the coin, rent a rig week. That is as much hashpower as you can afford. We can have website listed that offer rigs to rent and instructions for those that don't know how this process works, but anyone can rent rigs for mining coin without having to know how mining works too much. Few tips on setting up and everyone can do this. This is a good idea. I think buying BC is never a bad thing. Well I'm going to have to see some calculations. Because if it's cheaper to just buy it, I sure as hell am just going to buy it. This is a open, decentralized and 'disruptive' exchange. I am very sensitive to the public image of BC. I think its very important.
I also don't see a problem with organized group buys, All I care about is more coins getting into more hands as quickly as possible. Through buying, out-reach, advertising whatever.
If some of us (or a lot of us) want to punish the large dumpers, who loom sell walls (why and the hell would you put up a sell wall if you have any amount of BC?! Oh wait... to buy...cheaper by scaring everyone through FUD) then I think that is great too.
I do think publicly announcing a time/date for a group buy would not be as effective as something more private. Granted though it doesn't really matter. We are not fools we are actively paying MORE for bc on purpose because we love it and we already have some and it removes the coins from weaker hands, If a day-trader sees the pump as a chance to make few more percent, Fine. There is a chance they may not get the coins back and then they are left 'holding the bag' literally.
BlackCoin is a great Product, This is real and we know it. I think some ideas are more effective than others but I don't think any ideas are 'bad'. Ultimately the masses will win, have and hold most of the coins and bc will see a slow stead rise and anyone who wanted to 'game the coin' for short term gain will be drowning in regret that they 'could have made it big'

There are ways to make the super-buy easy to handle,
Gen1 could be a simple google doc, with locked fields and we all agree to put in .1 btc or something, and we input our Transaction ID proving we submitted.
Then the whole doc is locked, the 'whale hunt' commences and goes on until the BTC is exhausted. Then the total BC in the wallet is disbursed evenly.
Wash, rinse repeat.
Maybe do a high-roller, with 1BTC buy in, then another much smaller. OR even better use a website track and and let anyone send any amount they can. This would be ideal.

I want to do anything possible to stabilize the price. I would donate to the superbuy pool, and would have no problem letting anyone on BC dev, or Ionic handle it.
And to the people who keep reference the short PoW period:
This coin hit 500 SATS, Let me say it again, .00000500 per BC, It was at this price for days (nearly a week). You can't be everywhere at once, suck it up!
Considering how this coin is the only coin with positive buy pressure, Anytime is the best time to buy.
If you sell off at 40k hoping to jump in at 35k you are going to get punished when it never comes back to you, which will happen at some point. A month later your few BTC won't look so shiny.

BlackCoin, because NXT was a good idea ruined by the worst distribution in the history of crypto.
Blackcoin's distribution was terrible...it was instamined. BC had a 1-week distribution period where 99% of the money supply was instamined by the creators who paid to rent out all of the hashpower and mine all of the coins, then since they controlled almost the entire money supply they traded back and forth with themselves pumping the price and trading volume. Mintcoin actually has the best distribution of these style coins as it was released first, and was the most profitable coin to mine while it was still mineable, has already great merchant adoption. Don't be fooled by the pump and dumps. Mint has 700M coin premine, and you accuse BC of being instamined?! BC = No premine I mined BC at day one, I've never seen a better launch in crypto. Everyone had a chance to mine, And also buy with prices as low as 500 sats, for DAYS on end. |

Advertising in order to get cryptocurrency miners for other coins would be stupid, you would be only increasing your competition as a miner. In this case you would be increasing the value of the coin and growing the coin's community at the same time. this would be great. For weeks up until recently, I spent a great deal of my time trying to educate people why BlackCoin is going to take us places and why its foolish to sell at any price. I have cut down my posting and have instead been trying to get more donations for the DEV's and working behind the scenes in my own ways to make BC stronger.
I am no longer frustrated at dumpers and sellers:

Your selling will make BC stronger and help me get what I want out of life.
