601  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If we lose in gambling, what do we need to do? on: October 11, 2023, 03:58:07 PM
Gambling is a place to spend money, although many gamblers consider casinos to be a place to earn money. But in reality, more gamblers lose their money at casinos or gambling sites. So I think all of us here probably have almost the same experience, namely losing a lot of money gambling

I also lost money because I lost on gambling, but maybe not that much. But I know there are people who spend a lot of money for gambling. In your opinion, what should we do if we have lost a lot of money on gambling? Do we keep gambling to win so we can cover up previous losses? or stop and work normally and leave gambling? Or do you have other suggestions?

It depends on how much one has lost. If one has lost beyond his capability then a straight answer would be to stop gambling right away until he covers his losses.
Covering losses should be done by earning more through side hustles and day jobs and not through gambling.
Trying to cover losses through gambling would end up losing even more. If the gambler has lost but within his budget then he can take a short break and then continue gambling.
602  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 11, 2023, 03:51:48 PM
At one of the local gambling shop I visited during the weekend I happened to listen to a conversation between two bald looking gamblers at the shop talking about one of their gambling colleague who had won a big amount of money amounting to a million in the local currency and due to that win this colleague of theirs' has been avoiding them since e won that money. From their conversation it was obvious that they were a circle of close three friends that gamble together.

After all I finished with my bet headed home and was asking myself what could the colleague act that way avoiding his close friends they all gambling together and just because luck shines on him first he decides to create a distance and class. I couldn't actually annex a good reason why anyone should do that.

I can think of only 3 reasons why that colleague would behave in this way.

1. He wants to stay low because he doesn't want many people to know about his winning. We know that lots of money brings unwanted attention and may be that's why he is keeping distance from everyone until he figures out what to do with this money.

2. He would be thinking that his colleagues would ask him for money and he doesn't want to give them any.

3. He might be busy enjoying his reward elsewhere.
603  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don’t push playing more on: October 11, 2023, 03:39:30 PM
Today I encountered again my biggest nemesis on gambling which is being stuck on my gambling progress. I’ve gambling for multiple days in a row with just having a breakeven on my total bankroll. This due to the game doesn’t gave me any long winning streak and only just more losses. The only thing that makes me keep up on the breakeven side is the increased on wager to recover my losses but my gambling result is literally 1 win to 3 or more losses ratio. This is how bad my overall game.

The only good news is this time I remember how this weakness of mine always makes me lose in the past so I stop already gambling and take a break. This is what I’m trying to share here. If you really feel that your gambling doesn’t want to make you move forward by having decent profit and just giving you a hard time then don’t hesitate to quit! Don’t push forward while you are already playing uncomfortably because this will just make you bet recklessly.

Have a break and just gamble newt week or month because a lucky game will make you win easily and not with a very hard to win winning condition.

We all know that but sometimes things don't go as planned. Everyone knows that it's better to stop gambling when you are losing more.
But many people are not able to control themselves and keep on gambling until they lose it all. So self control is very necessary here.
As you say, one should not push himself in order recover the losses because that will only cause more losses.
604  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What encouraged your continuity in Bitcoin investment and Bitcointalk forum? on: October 10, 2023, 04:29:59 PM
I have been on the forum for quite some time now and over the years I have seen bitcoin grown, dump, recover, create ATHs etc...
So I have built my trust on bitcoin that is the driving factor for me to keep going forward.
This forum has thought me so many things and I have made some friends too and that motivates me to keep myself active on this forum.
605  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a strategy to lose on: October 10, 2023, 04:13:11 PM
So imagine doing all these together, most gambling games needs your understanding of the odds and taking them into account, especially when wagering, so how can a gambler get involved in all games at once just to increase their chances of getting lucky? Stop this as it's not a strategy to win, it's a strategy to lose.

I've never played so many games at once. I will focus on one game before I get bored and move on to another game. In my opinion, playing all games is not a good choice, it doesn't increase your chances of winning but increases your losses because we don't focus on analyzing and tend to only place bets.

If I play at a sportsbook, I bet on at most three matches at once but I rarely do that, I prefer to bet on one match with a fairly large bet rather than splitting the betting money across three matches.

Lol, I haven't seen any person who gambles on multiple games at once. Besides that what's the point in doing that anyway.
You won't be able to focus on any one game. Playing games one by one is a far better thing to do.
At least we get a satisfaction of actually playing the game and having fun.
606  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with entropy (Chaos) on: October 10, 2023, 03:56:36 PM
It's nice to see someone posting their strategy along with pics and source code of how they placed their bets.
Not everyone does it. So cheers to that @seoincorporation. It's good that you are making profits at the end of the day.
Keep monitoring your profits and I hope you don't end up using it all up for betting and lose it. Try to use a strategy for limiting losses as well.

Just noticed that the next draw's coming soon. Just wanted to quickly post here to let you all know I'm winning the big one with my single lucky ticket Wink

I've won quite a weird few lotteries on crypto in the past with a single ticket -- think 1 in almost 100,000 very early on, for some Doges that I of course wasted away.

You heard it here first!

In that case I have 2 tickets. I am double sure that I am gonna win this round.
Even freebitco.in is 200% sure that I will be winning this round with my 2 tickets.
If you don't believe me then look at the below screenshot.

Jokes aside, @TheQuin you might want to look into this and see why the email is showing 200% for 2 tickets.
608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In Case of Global Conflict, Is BTC The Best Alternative? on: October 10, 2023, 03:26:11 PM
It is. But sticking to one asset would be a mistake and we should consider diversifying our money into different assets.
Gold, Bitcoin, Real Estate, Bonds are some good ways to diversify but we should also consider holding some liquid cash in case of such crisis.
We never know how long it can last and how deep it can impact the economy and so holding cash for daily expenses would be a good idea.
I don't understand why you have such thought.

During crisis, your fiat will become worthless because the inflation surge really high.

During crisis, your real estate will become worthless too because no one want to buy it and many people would harm any buildings due to chaos.

During crisis, bonds will be worthless too since the government is struggling.

Gold need a good space and heavy, it's not flexible.

Only Bitcoin which can escape from everything I mentioned above.

You are getting it totally wrong. During a crisis, we want our wealth to be well diversified so that it does not decrease our portfolio by a huge margin.
If you don't hold any fiat what would you use to buy food because the grocery nearby your house won't be using bitcoin.
I had already mentioned that holding fiat to meet daily expenses would be sufficient and rest all diversified into various assets.
Gold does need space and so it would be better to hold gold bonds instead.
Real estate is another option because when the economy recovers then you can sell your property to recover your wealth.
Also, you can use your property for stay in case you don't have anywhere to go.

610  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The fear of investment on: October 08, 2023, 02:06:53 PM
Hello friends

In our modern society, the fear of being scammed by king pins and other fake platforms has made many people to loose interest in investing bitcoin.
This platform is to enlighten the society that there are real investment platforms and also people earn bitcoins for a living, so they should give it a try and invest so they can also earn and also when it comes to this particular fear I think the environment where one is actually staying also contributes to this fear because just the other I was actually explaining the basic essence of bitcoin to a friend and all he could even think of was that I want to basically scam him of his money of which he doesn’t even know that bitcoin is actually a currency on which people benefit wonderful opportunity like through savings.

You shouldn't try harder because if your friend is not even listening to you then he deserves losing the opportunity.
We all know about the scams that are happening and it has created a misconception among many but the person should at least listen what the other is saying.
611  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL is purely a mental challenge on: October 08, 2023, 01:50:06 PM
Anyone who has ever heard of Bitcoin may have heard of HODL as well. Because HODL is a very famous strategy to speculate on long-term price gains of Bitcoin, whereby "long term" is not defined in detail, how long it really is.

HODL dates back to a Bitcointalk post from 2013, where it was advised not to sell one's own Bitcoins despite losses, but to wait patiently until it rises again.

However, it is indeed essential to wait, because most common errors from HODL are:

- Sold all BTC too early to realize (small) profits
- Sold all BTC too early to minimize losses in case of decreasing prices

Additional mistakes can be dangerous coin storage practices, for example on a file-sharing platform, which is increasing risks of getting hacked. But in my post and for advanced Bitcoin HODLers it is assumed our coins are stored properly, which HODL also invites us to do, because HODL only required to transfer our coins on very rare occasions (if at all), which minimizes transferring or storage errors.

As a conclusion we should keep in mind: most common mistakes of HODL are quick sales of our valuable BTC. So, we have to be aware and know that HODL is purely a mental challenge.

A good HODLer can resist any temptation to make (small) profits prematurely and a good HODLer keeps his Bitcoin.
A good HODLer stays cool even in case of losses. Best we can do is to move our valuable Bitcoin somewhere where it has a high resistance of being sold.
And we shouldn't store it on file-sharing networks anyways and also not on centralized exchanges because we don't have our private key on such platforms (not your key, not your coins).

After all, it's a very important lesson to know that HODL is purely a mental challenge. If you want to HODL correctly, you should know and pay attention to all points mentioned above.  Smiley

Well, if you are a lazy person then you can be a good HODLER. Just keep your bitcoins in a place where it is difficult to access.
You will most probably avoid those occasions where the price has pumped and you are getting quick profits but you then you become too lazy to sell.
Thus you end up HODLING and price goes to the next ATH price and that's what happened to me. LOL.  Grin
612  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need advice on getting merits on: October 08, 2023, 01:02:08 PM
Hi guys, I want to ask some tips on getting some merits. I somehow feel jealous when I see other full members having tons of it even if they're just new to the forum. I know that there are some ways to earn it like being active in your local board, engaging in the gambling threads talking about particular sports, create an informational thread, or have some deep knowledge about bitcoin's technical like block size, hash rate, etc. And that's my concern, I am not good with any of those stuffs. I am not a sports enthusiasts nor good in bitcoin technical. Our local board is not that active also compared to others where I see some members' their main merit source.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking my time to read my post. Cheers!  Smiley

Even my local board is not very active because there only a few active members in my local board and so I know how you must be feeling.
But trust me, it isn't about the merits but what you get from the forum and what you give it back. Keep reading  across all boards throughout the forum.
That way you will keep getting more knowledge and then keep helping others in whatever way you can and that way you will contribute to the forum.
Just doing these I am sure you will be able to get enough reputation and knowledge that you won't even think about merits ever again. Cheers! Smiley
613  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 08, 2023, 12:35:38 PM
That's really bad because if gambling is affecting you so much then you are better off not gambling.
You should never be so much emotional when you are gambling and if you can't control your emotions then gambling is not for you.
Exactly,  she would have left gambling before it shocked her for throat. And as others as said but I don't know if that can work out for her, she would have set a gambling limit for her to play gamble every day. And one thing I also noticed in the setting of gambling limit is that, it would not work in for addicted gambler. I am also suspecting that she used all the savings to gamble on that faithful day and that was she cried a lot in the public for notificatiion.

I personally think it is mostly because of revenge gambling. She would have lost a little earlier and in order to recover the losses she gambled more than she could lose.
When she lost the gamble she lost her mind as well and then broke out into tears. Every gambler faces one turning point where he/she stops gambling.
May be this one is for her and I hope she understands her mistake and takes steps to avoid it.
614  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My bitcoin journey has started again on: October 07, 2023, 02:18:25 PM
I have decided to continue my involvement with investment in Bitcoin. My conviction in the importance and positive tendencies of bitcoin cannot be complete if I continue to just discuss and learn about its existence. I believe that a practical approach to learning is the best approach, hence my decision to invest in bitcoin with the  little funds I have at the moment. I also believe that little drops of water makes the mighty ocean and I'll continue my investments when  funds present itself. I wish to take my journey to another level of involvement, hence my decision. I hope and know that in the nearest future, I will be proud of the decision I am taking now. I intend Hodling my coins for a long time to avoid a repeat of my  former tragedy.

snip

You just have to get started no matter what the amount is and then there is no limit for more opportunities.
You are right when you say small drops make a mighty ocean because that's how I have done it and hold a decent portfolio today.
Although its not huge but over time I am sure I will make it good. Congratulations on being a part of the community and keep holding strong.
You will face many ups and downs but you have to keep holding strong and that's how you will achieve your dream.
615  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 07, 2023, 02:06:22 PM
A lady cried seriously after losing her money in sports bet gambling. Navigate to the image for more info 👉👉👉

Gambling is not for the weak minded ones but for those who can withstand with the bad motion/feeling when it occurs. Any gambler that thinking to win always is not well prepared for the gambling space. As a Gambler, you have to prepare your mind that the game you are playing might favour you or against you and if the game against you, then you have to wear a thick skin to over come the lose. Gambling is not for butter and bread but for the better and the worst. So any of the above come to your way as a gambler, you take. No man/woman should cry for gambling though it is painful but you don't have to cry. The casino company never cry when you win. She would have known that gambling is not her loss is another person win and her win is another person loss. Casinos want you to loss and you want casinos to loss and that is how gambling game is. Many people don't understand gambling and all what they want is to play and win. And I believed that she didn't read the Ts of the casino and probably she was excited for the game and placed her bet and loss.
This is the first time I am seeing a lady playing gamble in the public domain. Though I have been hearing but not seen. Well she should take heart, the matter how she cried the money will not come back again. What do you say about the Lady? Did she do well in the public? As I said, gambling is not your mate, take precautions.

That's really bad because if gambling is affecting you so much then you are better off not gambling.
You should never be so much emotional when you are gambling and if you can't control your emotions then gambling is not for you.
616  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lotteries and possibility vs. probability on: October 07, 2023, 01:54:47 PM
Actually it is. I don't know about your locality but there are local shops in here which provide lotteries and there's no way to verify if those are real.
If you win the lottery your lottery number gets displayed in the newspaper but who knows that the number we get are not fake.
Unfortunately, you are correct. There is no way for the player to be sure the game is fair and he hasn't been cheated. I never heard of a lottery game that uses a provably fair system and not sure if such one exists.
The only thing you can do is to play with famous and big companies which are less likely to cheat. You need to trust the game organizer and hope they will not manipulate the results.
no one knows whether the results are manipulated or not. This is a game, if we happen to be lucky then we will win. and if not, just think we're unlucky and can only keep betting until we wait for our luck to come.
we can only trust the company, and thousands or even millions of gamblers also bet on luck. no company wants to lose money. they win some, but gain more than others. that's what happened.

That's the reason why I suggest my father not to waste much in such lotteries. If they were genuine then I wouldn't stop them since there is no way to verify it I just suggest them sometimes to not waste money on it.
Recently we had a talk on this topic and he mentioned that he has stopped those lotteries and now puts money only in government authorized lotteries.
At least that is better than these local shops.

360 days to have access to 8 daily WoF spins. I don't know what those levels mean. I'm level 7 here and it's already maxed... If you want to have access to 8 daily spins faster, you have to reach the further tiers of premium program by holding more FUN.
No I am fine. My target was 12500 and I have accumulated those. Furthermore, to hold the tokens that long I have locked the tokens so that I don't sell it.
Right now I have locked the tokens for 180 days so that I get 7 spins at the end of maturity.
The plan is to lock it once again and finally reach to 8 spins and then continue to hold it as long as it's profitable.
Just keep holding them and you will always end up in profit; it might take a while but just hold and keep spinning the WOF and grab that extra interest! There is a tooic from Uneng about this where he keeps track on what his monthly ROI is, interesting to follow!
It's okay if it takes a long time because we can get the benefits if it's time. Yes, we still have to spin WOF and increase the number of FUN tokens if we still want to have more FUN tokens and get more WOF spins. At the current price, it is still worth investing in so when the time comes for it to increase, we will see how high the price can rise.

To get rewards from staking, I use 30 days because it is shorter than the previous one I used, where I chose 180 days. I think it's better to use 30 days as the staking period.

The interest rate in 30 days is lower when compared to 180 days. Besides that, the price is not pumping from last few months.
So it will take quite a while when the pump in price starts and so I guess 180 days is a sweet spot to get extra interest and accumulate more FUN tokens.
If the price increases in next 6 months may be we can consider taking profits and otherwise repeat the cycle.
That's my plan though and everyone has their own perspective.

It's not always too late to invest in bitcoins, if you have ever miss any Bitcoin bull run or you have heard about the bitcoins bull run and you are excited to take actions, my simple advice is, calm the pressure. This advice is driven from the view point of the economy struggles of many, avoid over thinking , work hard to earn money and diversify your investment. Most persons in the crypto space are dying in the inside because they do not have money to invest due to their present circumstance. If you do not have money to invest now, please ease the pressure, you may have more than enough to invest in the future. Calm the pressure my dear friends, don't borrow money, I repeat, don't borrow money to invest on Cryptocurrency, because it is a volatile asset. Life is about risk which you have heard  countless times but it will be unwise to take loan to buy bitcoins.

There are few important skills that I have learnt by being a part of this forum.
Patience is something that is definitely required whether you are trading, gambling or investing and holding cryptocurrencies and that is something I have learnt by being here.
Living within your means gives us the ability to manage our expenses, limit the losses and increase our profits steadily and I have learnt this well over the years.
Dollar cost average is the best technique to become rich over the long term and this is why keep investing in bitcoin at regular intervals to accumulate more over the long run.

It's not fake and he has the right to dream to win big. There is nothing wrong about that.
The only problem is that he should understand that his chances of winning the jackpot will always remain the same as long as he participate s in the lotteries every now and then.
Yoy need to use maths and probabilities to explain the maths to him.
