621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin really is going down the toilet. on: April 01, 2016, 03:02:39 PM
It really is getting ridiculous. When sending any meaningful amounts of BTC the TX's get ignored for hours, it has gotten so bad that at this point i would take any damn solution, call it Bip 9000 and have NSA put backdoors in it if you want but this god damn snail pace coin confirming needs to stop.
Someone make a service to push TX through, i would happily pay for it.

You really need to work on the documentation and show it on the site also. Including rake size and from who it is taken.

Is the rake only on the loosing sides coins? So if A has 1000 coins and B has 10 coins. A wins you only take your % of that 10?

We are still in the process of discussing additional changes we would like to like to make to the referral system and we are open to suggestions to improve it, so if you have any thoughts on it feel free to offer them. Soon, we will be changing the description on the site and there will be a referral panel made for users to easily keep track of their referrals and how much they have earned from them.

This is correct about the house rake. With the current parimutuel system, we only take our cut from the losing side - not the entire pool. This is to ensure that winners never receive less than what they actually bet themselves which can actually occur on other sites that offer Steam item-based betting. When we shift towards player vs house betting (standard odds and multipliers like traditional betting sites use) which is planned for a future update this system will likely change a bit.

How would the Player vs House work in something such as this ? Does the house choose a side and players can bet on the other side ?
And yes would be nice to hear about how the investment profit system works with that.
625  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The "Azure" Effect on Altcoins..................................... on: March 29, 2016, 01:21:27 PM
The short and sweet answer is that it means next to nothing. It is mainly used as a tool for pumping to create a spike of 100-500% and take some profits (value can remain higher after it), other than that there isn't really a need for it.

And now the less techy stuff - Referrals:
Our system makes use of a multi-tiered referral system. That means, you will receive income from not only your referrals, but your referrals's referrals! To give you a working example of this, I will explain both situations using our default referral values:

Suppose there is Peter, Quagmire and Joe:

Peter says "Hey Quagmire, check out this cool site GameBet I think you'll like it" and links him to his referral url.
Quagmire says "Wow peter, this looks like a cool site" and signs up.

Peter has referred Quagmire (so referrer = Peter, referral = Quagmire).
A small percentage of Quagmire's losses will go to Peter due to our referral system.
"Hey Peter, I bet 10 GG on that site you showed me and lost... but at least you got 0.10 out of it right?" (1% of referrals losses go to the referrer).

Quagmire gets his friend Joe to signup.
Quagmire has referred Joe (so primary referrer = Peter, referrer = Quagmire, referral = Joe).

Joe bets 10 GG and loses his bet, but 1% (0.10) will go to his referrer (Quagmire) and 0.5% (0.05) will go the primary referrer (Peter); and the remainder (in this case 98.5%) will be a part of the loser pool that got distributed to people who bet correctly on that match.

The more people you refer, and the more people they refer allows you to have a greater residual income as they gamble on the platform.

We expect to have another update for everyone early in the week.

One more question. What happens if only one person invests 5$ and noone else invests. Will you still honor the deal and he will therefore claim all the 20mil ico coins ?
630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Ann] Krypton KR, Ethereum - Based Cryptocurrency with Smart Contracts on: March 25, 2016, 07:15:22 AM
Why is the volume so low?

Because the coin is in only one exchange and that one exchange is YoBit that is not exactly known for its volume.

and in addition they had/have a wallet issue.

Yes, when withdrawing from Yobit, people encounter the error, "invalid withdrawal address."

RagingBull and I have both filed support tickets with Yobit.

I have got an update on that issue. I tried to withdraw and was able to do so successfully. It seems withdrawals from YoBit work now Smiley

I look at alot of altcoin markets (assets, etc) and I cant find a good example of a solid 50$ per month divined just for holding coins,
whats most appealing to me about this is the fact that I can use the site, refer users, and buy into their coin, all of which earn me money...

it seems to good to be true actually, if you look at other gambling operations inside the gaming world you realize theres a massive profit margin (more than 50$ a month haha)

I'm still not sure about holding the coin, will it be used for anything on the site?

Rubies for example uses a similar model. Only they give 80% to the investors + the coins. Easily over 50$ a month with x5 less invested.
Poloniex for example. Average loan rates on your BTC are around 0.15% a day for slow weeks. Up to 2% on pump days.
(so 10k$ - 25BTC @0.15% would make you around 0.0375BTC a day = 1.125BTC a month. (this is pretty much the minimum a month)
So you are looking at 50$ a month versus ~400$,

That 50$ a month was just to show what happened if a user invested 10k$ and the site made 5k profit. There is no telling how it will actually go down. Esports betting sites can be very successful for sure but right now the idea is:

The company is made
Company makes the site
Investors fund pretty much everything
Investors risk everything
Company gains 90% of the profits (up to 95%)
Investors who risk everything gain 10% (if it goes bad 5% a month)

Im sure some might find it appealing. I wish you all the best in the the launch but i fear with the current level of greed it will be hard to fund it to those levels.
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BREAKING NEWS! WWW.GAMEBET.GG Launches GameBet Coin (GBT) Sale on now!! on: March 24, 2016, 07:45:49 AM
I have to say that 10% of profits to investors really is the thing that puts me off. Even worse if that is not reached and it stays at 5%, it feels borderline retarder to invest into something with such terms.
I know very well how lucrative the esports/sports betting is and where it can go. Theres great potential there and you have some very solid ideas but the investment profit share is just a no.

So lets say the 100k is raised and lets say the initial profit for the site will be 5k$ per month.
User A invests 10000$ He would then have 10% of the profit you give to investors.
This means:
10% of 5k = 500$
10% of 500 = 50$

He would make 50$ that month, by investing 10000$. So for a breakeven he would need 10000/50 = 200 months aka 16.6 years.
Now for the sake of it, lets double it. You make 10k$ a month profit, then the investor would need 8.3 years for a breakeven.

I am keeping these numbers low because it will take a lot of time to get to the level where the volume will really start paying off. (i know it is possible but it takes a lot of time)

In the world of gambling that is an eternity and in the world of e-sports also.

P.S I also didn't find in what country is the company registered. Is it on the site somewhere i must have missed it. Because if it is not registered then there's a whole other level of risk as you might just get shut down for illegal gambling.

P.S.2 Correct me if im wrong, math aint my strong side.

Im not good at mathe but your numbers are correct I think. With your mathe someone who invest 10 thousand if only getting back 50 a month will only make 6% per year. That is not bad money if it was guaranteed. But your mathe forget to keep in mind that value is still in the coin. so someone can hold for a while and then sell. so its not like he loses his 10 thousand.

If the business does big because ESport is on the verge of blowing up it can do more then 5 thousand a month. if it staied with the same math the dev post that would mean just 50 thousand in bets for 5k a month. I think it can get more with good marketing and a good team.

and in the announcement for about the company it says "GameBet is an organization established to help the growth of eSports online gaming as well as promote the Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency industry. Officially registered in Costa Rica as a S.A. (Sociedad Anónima). The organization was registered through Marielos Meléndez J.D. LL.D. of Melendez and Bonzilla Law Firm.
"

You are correct on the coin part, they also do/might hold some value. But that is dependent on how much the site makes.
By those calculations i made. You own 10% of the supply to investors. And you make 50$ a month.
This means you have 2.000.000 coins that make you 50$ a month (thats around 0.1203 BTC atm)
50/2000000 = 0.000025$
0.1203/2000000 = 0.00000006
That would be the earnings per month per coin it seems. There will be people ofc who will buy them (and calculate the initial cost of 10000$ into it also, but for that to happen it first needs to show it maintains a steady profit).

Oh i see the company was announced in the pre-announcement. Would be nice to have the registration code of the company there also so everyone could see that it really is registered.

DELEGATE POOLS - SAY NO TO DELEGATE SOLE OWNERSHIP!!!!

Check out my thread on the LISK forum and leave a reply if you agree.

https://forum.lisk.io/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=104

there's 101 delegates, Not everyone will be a pool and eventually things will end up that way but why rush it.  Let some people make the lisk they can until there is a need for them to do pools.  If you want to take the 10 minutes to set up a node, go for it.  It doesn't take that much at all.

Just don't hate on people because you don't want to do any work.  One day pools will be needed, just not now yet IMO.  The barrier to entry is too low to do pools yet.

101 needed delegates and I have recorded about 11 people that want to be a delegate.  We dont need pools now, we need more damn delegates lol.

Oh dont worrie, the guys who sent big amounts of btc already have the telegate spots in place Smiley
637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] [RELC] RelCoin - In-app token for RELNUZ - development underway! on: March 22, 2016, 06:21:45 PM
Any news dev?

We're still looking at an end-of-March or early April release, finally.

Bug testing of the Relnuz beta app has been very slow but we're down to the final 4-5 items, and I have a working alpha version on my phone as I type this. So there'll be legitimate MVP (minimum viable product) software to present to investors, and we'll be encouraging cryptocurrency community members to download and use the beta. Right now it looks and works like a rough version of Periscope. But it's cool to have software we developed from scratch backing RELC from launch.

RELC development was put on hold as the main developer took care of some urgent business; however this business positioned RELC for even better opportunities for a solid development path than I'd originally hoped when creating this pre-ANN thread 10 months ago. I won't reveal anything more about this until we know exactly how it will take shape.

I'm working on Relcoin's collateral content (formalized ANN thread, FAQ, launch support, timing) right now, then working with the dev and contacting pools. I hope to have a few options for miners right at launch.

Best advice I can give: just keep watching this thread.

Is there a way to subscribe for news or something so i dont miss the launch ? You will be announcing it on Twitter also right ? Really looking forward to it!
