Ppl wont even pay that on ebay. Youd be lucky to get $90on ebay

and where are they on ebay for $90?
622  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMiner BE300S Samples Arrived, <0.2W/G Achieved at Board Level on: December 11, 2014, 05:25:26 AM
And here we go again. Posting about how things will be better but still ignoring the existing issues and promises. Why are you still not responding to emails and PM's? Are you just hoping all the prisma users will forget about the compensation or the lack of communication and just fork over more money to buy new gear and hope that it will work better than what we already paid for?

What prisma? what fire? huh? ive payed 100btc for many of these chips so i can swim in them Cheesy

jk, you are right though, i have seen this happen too, companies ignoring their users/consumers to move onto other things, that's why they all go register up as a limited liability company (LLC).. i know little about the LLC legal form, i've known nothing like this in Australia.. (or i could be ignorant of this?)

Lemme just clarify, i have no idea where ASICMiner sit in the business model, what laws they are governed by, and what they care to do as a business.
Just stating others are also doing the "ignore customer issues, make new stuff" game
623  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMiner BE300S Samples Arrived, <0.2W/G Achieved at Board Level on: December 10, 2014, 11:30:49 PM
now i do have a question about these chip, they are not a straight drop in for the BE200's yes?

re-read, "FCLGA 5mm x 5mm" thats smaller then the 8mmx8mm QFN package
624  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ASICMiner BE300S Samples Arrived, <0.2W/G Achieved at Board Level on: December 10, 2014, 10:49:21 PM
@Friedcat: what is the qfn next to the pin header that's labeled PMS01?

that would be a simple 8/16 bit micro-controller, iirc similar to what they used in the usb block erupter, gets the uart data off the chip then passes it over to ttl..

i could be wrong
625  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Technobit "DICE" 160Ghs Entry miner/blockchain personal lottery device on: December 10, 2014, 05:28:42 AM
a bit too pricy for the hash delivered

I agree. I think this is an interesting device but the price needs to be no more than $50 for the hashrate to be a sensible device. The "lottery" aspect is just to market it to novices as a novelty device which is fine for introducing people to Bitcoin, but not for mining.

i love how people thing that small mining hardware should be the same price/GHs as massive 5THs systems, its only 1 chip + power + hardware around it, not 256 chips + power + hardware around it.

if people think that small hardware should be cheap on $/GH then Make them will ya?! there is so little of this stuff in the market! next level down is usb dongles at 10x the price/GH!

If the price per GH doesn't make economical sense, then what is the point other than as a novelty device, that most likely will never hit a block in a hundred years?
(sorry, had to edit your sentence, to make sense for me)

why does people have to start mining at the price of $5000? i only have 80GHs and $40 in BTC to my name, its all i have. but no, there is the people that started years ago and 100s of 1000s of BTC to their name demanding bigger and faster mining rigs, and us little "Hobbyist Miners" are left behind. if there was only these type of miners out in the world, people may have rooms full of them, but it would make it fairer for the small guys.

buy no, "These are more then prima in price per GigaHash! you will never sell them!"

627  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: December 09, 2014, 02:06:14 AM

With my New R-Box I've now tried cgminer versions 4.3.3, 4.5, 4.7, 4.7.1, and 4.8. I've also tried BFGminer 4.10(I think that's the version). I've tried these at multiple frequencies, with different USB cables, on different computers, and on different pools.

The best results I've gotten are with pre-4.8 cgminer versions running 270 to 290 MHz. These results are typically about 90 GH/s reported by cgminer with lots of errors, pool-side usually comes out to low-70's GH/s with 15-25% error rate. cgminer 4.8 starts out around 70-80 GH/s, then settles around 45 GH/s with 2-3% errors. BFGminer reports mid-70's GH/s pre-error, but an effective mid-40's GH/s with a 35+% error rate.

I could be wrong... but I think I have a faulty box. I emailed the dealer tonight and I'm hoping they offer to exchange.

I contacted Jones Gear regarding my New R-Box issue and they agreed that I had done sufficient troubleshooting and that a replacement was in order.

They shipped me a replacement New R-Box with a return shipping label. All I had to do was take the new New R-Box out of the box, pop the cables our of the old one, put them in the new one, and toss the old one into the box they provided and return to USPS.

No additional configuration needed. Getting 110+ GH/s with about 5% errors right out of the box.

Jones Gear, you rock! I'm glad to have a machine running properly now and also glad to see it wasn't my own idiocy causing the issues.

Congrats! you think Jones Gear would do the same for me? Tongue

ok, so im in Australia, and Jones Gear is in Ann Arbor, city in Michigan, and i never got mine from them..
628  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: December 09, 2014, 02:05:22 AM
No, its not a version 1 and 2 of the "new" R-Box but people try to differentiate between the 32-37 GH/S original R-Box and the "Newer" R-Box which is rated at 100GH/S but for some reason was given the same name without any "Official" designation to help people tell the difference other than "New" which is often confused with "New to Me" equipment.

I see, you call the New Rbox as ver2, i just call them NRBox... how about we all them by how many cores they have? r-box = 4 core, new rbox = 12 core?

...since i really hate the name "New R-box"

not going into politics

Trust me, I asked them about 5x pre release to reconsider the name. Google must hate trying to index it correctly.

well, that chinglish for you, not hating on rockxie, just the PR/Advertising department..
629  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: December 09, 2014, 01:54:03 AM
So i did a little modification to the miner to see if it pull more heat...

so far the top sink gets quite hot, due to copper on the chips, path of least resistance?
now the chipsets are claiming 38 Degrees Celsius at about 80~GHs at this moment, it hasn't been running for that long yet..

lets just see what happens

BE200s will get 80-90C topside so I wouldn't be surprised if that little plate is hot. Its not drastically increasing your cooling though without any surface area [fins].

are you saying throw away the topside heatsink and get one with more fins?

you think doing the same mod on the bottom side (adding heat spreaders) would help a little more too?

since it had time to settle though, at 270 (seems to be the best for this unit, the light is a constant flash, not a random short/long mix) its doing 80-85Ghs at 36 degrees C

oh this reminds me, this whole thing is like this:
630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fury/Blizzard tuning and mods on: December 08, 2014, 03:54:39 AM
anybody wants to buy crushed FURY? chips are fine but electricity entrance part melted.

how did you melt the power plug? or you talking about the whole power supply on the board?
631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fury/Blizzard tuning and mods on: December 08, 2014, 03:42:49 AM
so i have one of these blizzard thingies, its dead, basically the blue light is just lit up, nothing on the lsusb, windows cant make heads or tails of it, even though it was running on the system for days before its final hash.

im thinking the silicon labs controller is fried, is there any way to test the chips without that ic?

told ya, all these companies are getting contracted to do this centralisation of your bitcoin

ftfy Cheesy

well anyone who buys into that shit

can we just boycott these.. ah never mind, to many stupid people that have no idea and pay into this crap

at this point i must say im glad i did not buy it.
only AM believer here.. ^^

what is it you believe in? throwing your customer base out the window to make a super-sized "cloud mining" service to steal everyone's moneys?
...or you're just selling out your sig space for ads?

Its just that its Hard Times for bitcoin mining in general.. There's a lack of interest because of BTC price tanking. Hence, margins (ie. profits) are being squeezed.

But i expect some adjustment rally to come soon enough.. And AM will go through. Smiley

it didn't help that companies made $5k mining machines when all we needed was the $100 or less mining hardware, rockxie did it, technobit is doing it, there are a few more making cheap mining platforms, why not that? why make people buy into contracts, then tell them they have to pay more AFTER they buy into it?
"oh, we sell 100GHs for 0.004BTC/GHs; now you got it, you have to pay us 0.01btc/day to run it; what? your 100GHs miner can only pull out 0.005btc/day? better pay up, buy more GHs of us, or give up moneys"

financials??  guys???

on Havelock:

2014-12-04   Operational Progress & Financial Report   public   ROCKMINER Operational Progress & Financial Report(Nov.).pdf

link plz i cant find it.

It is under 'Fund Reports'  https://www.havelockinvestments.com/reports.php

Direct Link:  https://www.havelockinvestments.com/reportdownload.php?id=127   (pdf)

TY Smiley i was looking in ROCKMiners tabs

edit: damn.. "RM will do some proper (?!) investment with capital stock, to ensure the company’s balance of payment" .. this sounds sketchy, at the very best.

thought they were ASIC producers.. not fund managers.

my favourite part:
Quote
1)RM will no longer do miners production by its own and sole investment. In other
words, RM can offer OEM service only if any other capital in

told ya, all these companies are getting contracted to do this centralisation of bitcoin

also: lolwut.
Quote
3)About the choice of our partners, including but not limited to the mining rig makers
with own mining chips, such as ASICMINER.

i thought they were using BE200 chips, i didn't think they made them.
also, what is friedcat doing? what is going on? "you buy our chips, you will only use them for what we say.. also new chips for everyone! and no one to make hardware for the public"
636  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: December 05, 2014, 02:59:56 PM
financials??  guys???

rockxie don't care no more, all over the amhash centralisation project, more money out of the people who know no different
637  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ROCKMINER ASIC miner official thread on: December 05, 2014, 02:07:09 AM
Has anyone updated the RPi image for the new R-Boxes?

Are you talking about the image that rockxie uploaded at 2014-09-29?
are you asking if anyone has updated it?

i wouldn't bother touching it, go minepeon or something.

Edit:
Reason why i wouldn't touch it is because there is no source with it, or documentation on how to mod/update it

...also does anyone know what the blue status light is meant to do/mean?

Submitting shares.

derp, should of guessed

is it just what its spitting out? long light/short light/long pause/short pause means nothing other then the size of the data?

These calculations are approximate I think.  If one redoes the calculation with 40 years (instead of 1) it would give a probability greater than 1 (impossibe) - and as we know the probability is less than 1.

What's wrong with winning 2 or 3 times of 25BTC during long time period? I mean loooooong, if difficulty is rising... Did I heard somewhere that BTC difficulty started falling?

after the fire i think, that ~1% of the network, it slowed down, short term it made a few pools and people take some longer time to to crack a block.
its not going to slow right down where it hits reverse. you need to shutdown a hella lot more then that.. also btcguild going down may be part of the cause too.
