- The Birthday of the Local Boards I think are, in some instances, that of a prior Language Thread. For example, the Spanish Local board figures as the oldest, born on the 24/09/2010, but it was really constituted as a local board on the 19/05/2011 (see Please create a Local/Castellano (Spanish) forum). This is just a technicality that I found to be true for my local board, albeit an important one for the board itself. I forgot to add some more notes, in particular the pre-history of the first post in your local board (Spanish). I left some notes previously but now it is time to edit OP with more notes to make it more understandable, and easily get more helps. It is acceptable if I make mistakes in details or miss some local boards. You are definitely have more understandings on you local boards. If you find any of such mistakes or missed local boards, please help me. I appreciated all of your contributions to improve the thread.
- Dealing with averages has its particularities. The longer the period of time, the more data points we flatten out into a single value, losing some perspective as to evolution of the values. Dealing with posts count numbers is a bit of a p.i.t.a., and at some point, I decided to follow these values for local board (not local threads) on a monthly basis
I know but for such a cross-sectional data (like the thread in initial version), the averages are all I can do for now. Its interesting to play around with the data (alas, manually retrieved each month), and retrieve information in the process.
I agreed and I am going to observe and publish more data on monthly basis.
Based on the published dates, this is the very first thread on that board [it doesn't represent its birthday]: 17/01/2011Thanks. For the birthday of the Français local board, I am going to wait for @Halab. - Perhaps it's best to just add a note in front of those boards with no clear birthdays...
Added more notes.

Anyway, I don't see how many members are involved in each local board. It will be interesting to know if you can add the information.
I can't, I am sorry. I am surprised to know that there are some local boards having no moderators. How to handle spam posts there? Report to........?
AFAIK, some moderators or global moderators handle some boards, simultaneously.

Thanks @Bightening for pointing out my incorrect link; @coupable, @Halab and @DdmrDdmr for creative ideas. I listened to all your opinion, made another decent thread, so here you go, guys: History of local boards

For local boards in the main languages sectionI made new variables for the rates of new posts (npost_daily) and new topics (ntopic_daily) per day for each local boards. Then sorting them out descendingly for each variable. I allocated local boards corressponding ranks (rankpost - according to descending orders of npost_daily; and ranktopic - according to descending orders of ntopic_daily). Total days in between the birthdays of local boards and today calculated. In the below list, I sorted all local boards out descendingly, according to rankpost that calculated from npost_daily. Based on the criteria, the top 5 active local boards are: - Russian: 1505 posts/day
- Indonesian: 545 posts/day
- Turkish: 376 posts/day
- Chinese: 213 posts/day
- Pilipinas: 174 posts/day
There are two sets of criteria but I would like to choose the rankpost. There is no reasons for now to combine two criteria sets. Details:. list rankpost ranktopic boardname npost_daily ntopics_daily npost ntopics daysbetween birthday today, abb(30)

From this: Bitcointalk's historical important changes, then coupable discussed and asked for a new section for information on local boards as important changes of the bitcointalk.org forum. It is what I am not going to. Personally, I have some reasons to reject a new section in that thread. Local boards are important components of the forum, obviously, but each local boards have different level of importance in the forum. Summarise all of local boards as one of important changes of the forum is likely irrelevant. Today, I created the thread, in which I will give you some details on the history of all local boards. It is acceptable if I make mistakes in details or miss some local boards. You are definitely have more understandings on you local boards. If you find any of such mistakes or missed local boards, please help me. I appreciated all of your contributions to improve the thread. I ranked the status of each local board based on their ranks presented here Notes:- Birthday: by default, it is the date on which the first post of each local board published.
- Request on local moderator(s) from theymos: Like that one, see. If you know such requests from theymos in your boards, please let me know.
- A. birthday (Adjusted birthday): recommended by knowledgeable members of each local boards and can be shortly before or after default birthday. It is the day on which locals asked for creation of their local boards. Click on each adjusted birthday to see more details.
It is your favorite local board, not mine, so if you know something interesting, please let me know. Main languages

All of my clubs are for earned merits, not total merits. If Juggy777 joins my club, it should be the 250+ club rather than the 500+ club. See you there, @Juggy777. Edited:I'm sorry. In initial post, I remembered about Piggy when mentioned OP.

Maybe signature campaigns are just "that" and nothing more. It only makes people remember you exist and that is how you stay afloat. When you do signature campaign and get new people that is good but when you stop it that means you are leaking customers, there will be more people going out compared to coming it.
It is long lasting signature campaigns have better, bigger and much longer impacts for companies. Unfortunately, there are limited companies have enough resources to do this (in orders): - Having initial significant funds to run campaigns in a fixed long period (as their initial plans and first round of their campaigns)
- Choosing good managers to manager their campaigns (by screening among applicants to choose the best ones and wiping out shitposters within active period of campaigns, rejecting payments for shitposts)
- Reusing profits (if there are) from campaigns to prolong their campaigns (much longer than initial plans)
- Being open-minded to community suggestions and improving platforms to attract more users
- Repeating the cycle

The process from Private key to Public Key is a one-way process.
Password of your wallet is to protect your private key. Anyone has access to your private key can recover your wallet on the other computers without passwords.
In other words, password is the second layer of protection for your private key. If you encrypted your wallet (access to your private key) with password, you have to decrypt it with a correct password (if a hacker only steals your encrypted wallet.dat file, that one has to decrypt it with a correct password to steal your fund).
In contrast, if a hacker successfully steal your private key, that one can instantly access your wallet and steal your money without password.
So it reminds you that secure your private key is a higher priority than your password (they are both important but it is the order of importance if I have to order priorities between them). It is very stupid to setup a hundred-charactered password, ie. but leaving your private key opened to hackers.

I didn't know samourai allow coin control as well.
Really? Samourai wallet allows CoinJoin transaction so it must provide Coin control features for its users. No one can use Coin Join transactions without access to Coin Control features which are powerful tools to increase anonymity. Quickly search gives me: Wallet Update 0.97 - Coin Control, Dust TX alerts, Like-Type inputs and more.
Of the wallets that support Bech32, only the following wallets have Coin Control; Platform | Recommended | Other | __________________ | __________________ | ________________________ | Mobile (Android) | Samourai | Electrum | Desktop | Bitcoin Core | Electrum |

Thanks @fillippone for the link to the answer but I want to add more details. The last week is ranked at the third position in descending orders of top weeks in total weekly merits. . list weeklyrank merit week, abb(30)
+------------------------------+ | weeklyrank merit week | |------------------------------| 1. | 1 30960 2018w4 | 2. | 2 19979 2018w5 | 3. | 3 14251 2019w46 |
The figure of the last week is more impressive if you know that the figure of 2018w4 is not for a fully complete week. It is for only five days of 2018w4. See below. And if we subtract the merits distributed on 24jan2018 (13018), the first day, we will do see the 2019w46 (last week) nearly hits the second position. . list id merit date day month2 year week month dofw if year == 2018

In the end, how many participants were registered in the contest?
I excludes participants who did not get a single merit, so I don't have it for you. For participants who received at least 1 merit, there are 673 artists. And how many submissions?
673 artists made 1093 submissions in total. . tab nsubmissions

Besides, did anyone count how many merits have been given by forum users to all submissions? I know theymos have 9991, but besides these 9991 merits, how many were awarded by all the other forum members?

See how long it takes you to find an address that starts with 1FeexV6bAHb8ybZj. On my system, it would take, many billions of years to find. And each additional character makes it 58 times more difficult to find.

It's an event, so what do we expect? And yeah right, some of those entries doesn't really deserve Merits if you ask me but still let's just consider this as part of the event, besides its only a matter of time when this issues might stop. Maybe tomorrow or the next day, the distribution of Merits will become normal again.
No, you misunderstood my opinion. What I mentioned is I hope merit sources will maintain their strict rules as same as before their reallocation of monthly merits. For the Art contest, yes, it is for fun, and I am fine with it. There is nothing wrong when you send 20 or 50 merits to the arts you like (even if you do it today). I knew there are some shady behavious and ones took advantage of the contest to do what they waited for around two years since merit sytem began. As I said, I am fine with it and just let it be what it be. Then, when the Art contest effects cool down, they will be stucked again (if they have not yet promoted to Legendaries). how long till the investigators are in tying up farms/rings of accounts..
As TMAN wrote, they will do stupid things again. Like what we saw when the enhanced merit system activated in September of 2018. They nearly got mad in the first week since the changes came. See details here (and you can see spikes in the time-series plot). One year anniversary of enhanced merit system. list id emerit date day month2 year week month

If you think he's trolling you, you could report his posts and see what the mods do with it. I've had some angry posts of mine deleted before, and probably with good reason. Members rarely get banned for outbursts like his, and I don't even remember the last time that happened. You have to be a serious and chronic troll in order to get banned, and TMAN doesn't really fit that description despite his posts that you quoted.
Honestly, within my two years in the forum, I have never seen a single user get banned because of trolling. I saw lots of complaints on trolling and request of bans on trollers (especially the one who trolls all casinos - we all know who he is) but there is no ban case I saw with my eyes.
