Heh I was just interested in knowing what my PC would generate from its CPU, and I got one part wrong, its every 3 hours not every 1 day. 1462.16 days in that case.

I warn you . . . the quote I'm about to post may cause you indescribable rage. You may suddenly feel the urge to punch small children or kick puppies. If symptoms persist please consult your doctor. ...and if there is no central "bank" how do you suppose anyone can tell a real Bitcoin from a forgery?! And when "Super Bitcoins" come along, will they be worth more or less than the old ones?? hmmmm... I think I need to start a new website - ha ha ha - after all, the printer of the money, real or not, gets full value for his wares...
Why does this make you rage? Why should this make any of us rage? This is exactly the kind of person we want using bitcoin, and what we see is that they simply don't understand it. That's not a failure of the individual making the comment (who is likely over 40 and a casual computer user), it's the failure of bitcoin. There is so much fucking hubris here about the "PLEBES WHO DON'T UNDERSTAND HAR HAR," but don't you fucking get it? These plebes are the only variable that matters for the long term sustainability of bitcoins as a legitimate method of exchange or store of value. Unless you're happy jerking your pud about printing money for nothing with the rest of your "I just happened to have some powerful cards cause I'm a gamer" and "I'm getting rich cause I print money, BUY MORE CARDS, RALLY" and "This is the way of the future guys, really, I know it" bretheren, then you better hope to the fucking bitcoin god that someone more mature and a better man than you are out there trying to POLITELY educate people who don't understand it. Thank you Synaptic, this has actually made me sit back and think about things in a different light. I'm sure others can learn from this.

Does anyone know how to upgrade from SDK 2.1 to SDK 2.4? Or install 2.4 in a separate location for testing purposes?

Is anyone else getting crashes with settings above aggression 6 or 7 on ubuntu or xubuntu? I am runnning all my GPUs on aggression 6 because otherwise it is instable, FASTLOOP also makes it instable. The whole box crashes and becomes unresponsive, after minutes, sometimes a few hours of uptime. I use sempron 140 cpus and 2 gigs of ram.
I use 4 gpus and the same cpu, I use aggression 13 and fastloop false, no crashing here

Hi Inaba, I am wondering if you have any ideas about how I can upgrade from SDK 2.1 -> 2.4 for testing purposes (note I want to keep 2.1 incase I want to roll back) I created a thread here http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=14292.0 but if you could help me that would be amazing. Thanks!

Thanks man, I did what you said above and it configured without errors (as far as I could see)
I replaced this: export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/ati-stream-sdk-v2.1-lnx64/lib/x86_64/ with: export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx64/lib/x86_64/
but for some reason my miner wont pickup the different SDK version giving me the errors below, any ideas?
Traceback (most recent call last): File "phoenix.py", line 123, in <module> miner.start(options) File "/home/buddy/phoenix-1.48/Miner.py", line 75, in start self.kernel = self.options.makeKernel(KernelInterface(self)) File "phoenix.py", line 112, in makeKernel self.kernel = kernelModule.MiningKernel(requester) File "kernels/phatk/__init__.py", line 132, in __init__ platforms = cl.get_platforms() pyopencl.LogicError: clGetPlatformIDs failed: invalid/unknown error code
thanks

It probably depends what else you're using.
I use pyopencl which needs to be recompiled against the SDK when it's changed, but other than that I only change the path to the SDK.
ChrisB.
Ah, I think you're on to something, I tried to run configure.py on pyopencl-0.92 with ./configure.py --cl-inc-dir=/opt/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx64/include/ --cl-lib-dir=/opt/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx64/lib/x86_64 but it complained to me about already being configured, I assume from the previous version and I really don't know what to do... any suggestions for a noob? Thanks

1) wget http://download2-developer.amd.com/amd/APPSDK/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx64.tgz
2) sudo tar xvfz AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx64.tgz -C /opt
3) sudo tar xvfz /opt/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx64/icd-registration.tgz -C /
4) cd pyopencl-0.92
5) ./configure.py --cl-inc-dir=/opt/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx64/include/ --cl-lib-dir=/opt/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx64/lib/x86_64
6) Add this to miner starting script: export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/AMD-APP-SDK-v2.4-lnx64/lib/x86_64 1H9R8bkkPgmMkgiPEWPAZku4QM8nC6zvMW

With Windows I get better performance with 11.5 drivers, 2.4 SDK and phoenix with phatk kernel. I am using 11.5 drivers and 2.1 SDK in my Ubuntu box with just the standard kernel. Can anyone confirm if 11.5 + 2.4 SDK with phoenix & phatk kernel is better or worse with Ubuntu? Using 5870's.

Yeah, search for pushpool on these forums, its pretty common setup that most pools use. There's even some cool guys working on an opensource web front end for it too.

1000 k/hash = 1 M/hash -> Correct However, if I run them both together on a machine, I see a drop in GUI miner and it fluctuates a lot. -> limit your cpu miner to use 1 less core then its max, gpu mining uses some cpu resources and can get bogged down if your cpu is running 100%. IE, if you have a quad core, limit core usage to 3 cores.

Get some 1x -> 16x adaptors, or make do with 1x adaptors and cut the backs.
I wouldn't suggest 6 cards on one mobo, you run a high risk of melting your FSB.

Check to see if its located in the queue: http://bitcoincharts.com/bitcoin/0.13 btc is a very small amount and will most likey be very low priority. IE, it could take several hours for it to come through. Don't panic, your btc will arrive in due time.
