641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MyBitcoin has started spending our stolen coins on: January 09, 2012, 05:33:01 PM
I, for one, am quite convinced that the MyBitcoin coins were dumped as part of the massive decline from about $17 down to $2 over the last five months or so.
That's what I've believed as well.  Perhaps this is showing that they're now cashing out the remainder of their stolen coins.  Maybe this is the cause of the giant spike down this morning?  If so, I think that would actually be a bullish development for BTC price.

I'll buy this.  I was wondering the same thing when I saw the sell volume and this post.  If a decent percentage of old addresses can be found and shown to have recent activity, I don't think the unclaimed coins story will hold.
642  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: January 09, 2012, 05:26:33 PM
Thank piuk, on it's way.  Something to consider for web/app when accepting payments or purchasing something in person, it would be nice to see the current spot and 24hr avg price on the screen instead of having to switch apps or webpages.
643  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [ANN] Introducing PIMPCOIN – Bitcoins are SEXY NOW!!! on: January 09, 2012, 05:10:29 PM
Really...you all are talking about having scannable "adult novelties" and I get heckled for wanting to scan the girl???  Give me QR stickers - donation varies by placement (especially if removed to scan).  Shocked
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The perfect tool for Bitcoin newbies - get them a Deposit Card! on: January 09, 2012, 04:53:33 PM
If I want to get some of these for other people, do I need an account or can I just order the cards and send them to the website to activate?
645  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: FPGA development board "Icarus" - 2nd batch order start. on: January 09, 2012, 04:26:43 PM
What software would I need to run it? Is it free?
What is the Hash speed for the firmware that will be installed as default?
Does it comes with fans installed? If not, is it needed?
Will be ordering one once these are answered.

I think this is all in the first post.  Software and fans included, ~380 MHash/s.  Can anyone report on stability?  I can leave my GPU's running for weeks or months even without any downtime - assuming no DDoS or power failures of course.  How are these running?
646  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [ANN] Introducing PIMPCOIN – Bitcoins are SEXY NOW!!! on: January 09, 2012, 03:38:07 PM
You should make them into some type of vinyl sticker to put on their as.... err wherever. Scan here please  Grin
647  Economy / Speculation / Re: New difficulty: 1250758, 7.8% increase Will this make the value of BTC increase? on: January 08, 2012, 10:51:40 PM
Will the New difficulty: 1250758, 7.8% increase the value of BTC or make it decrease?
The difficulty follows the market price, for the most part, not the other way around.

^^ This. http://bitcoinx.com/charts/ Charts here show difficulty follows price, not determines it.

I don't know if it is just me but I can't find where to donate to this tradeshow exhibit at this site: http://lovebitcoins.org/

piuk do you ever sleep? Great new features keep coming, I like it.  How about a donation address (I didn't see one on here or the site) and I'll send you a small incentive to rush that iPhone app.  Wink
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you actually USE Bitcoin? Or does it use you? on: January 08, 2012, 09:42:18 PM
I use bitcoin, and would love to be able to use it more - and I have no idea how to make that happen.  Well I have a few ideas, I just don't have the resources to implement them, so I'll just keep on spending them on what I can.

@evoorhees "Democracy is the original 51% attack".  That is hilarious, and very true.
651  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER miner overclock monitor fanspeed RPC in C linux/windows/osx 2.1.2 on: January 08, 2012, 03:58:05 PM
Does anyone read readmes, manuals or the --help these days? Just wondering if I should bother or just provide paid support only and delete all of those.

I find the readmes and executive summary helpful. I would be asking much more questions without them. I think inclusion of a simple auto start script and setup would be useful.  It seems to come up a lot.
652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [It's here] The Second Bitcoin Whitepaper on: January 07, 2012, 07:05:28 PM
On the scalability issue, is it not possible that advances in networking and computer technologies may advance faster than Bitcoin adoption/use and at least delay the issue if not solve it?  Or allow a better mix of Banks to centralized data centers running the full protocol?
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN booth at CES Las Vegas! Tell all reporters! on: January 06, 2012, 04:43:35 AM
I have some brochures printed up which I will post here in this OP as soon as we lift the embargo (they include some top-secret unreleased Bit-Pay products  Smiley)

Do we have to wait until next week for this???
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is no Tulip on: January 06, 2012, 02:46:57 AM
But when can I buy a tulip with my bitcoins from the local flower shop? That's what I'm looking forward to, hopefully in 2012.
You just gave me an idea, how about you make a Bitcoin flower site! Grin

Here's an example
http://www.proflowers.com/landingSearch.aspx?pageid=Search&REF=FGVSRCHgoogkwd_flowers_e&NoExitPopup=Y&MATCHTYPE=search&keyword=flowers&ADTEXT=7142758644&NETWORK=google&city=Anywhere%20in%20the%20USA

I would if I knew how.  How about I open a gas station, a grocery store, and maybe a car lot also since I can't spend my coins at any of those either. Sad that more people care about speculating with Bitcoin than actually growing the economy.  Hopefully this year we can start to reverse that.

Fixed that for you.

657  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ICBIT: Derivatives market (currency, index futures trading) on: January 05, 2012, 08:28:18 PM
I can see how futures would benefit bitcoin sellers, like miners and merchants, but how does it benefit bitcoin buyers?
658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trusted cellphone/mobile bitcoin client on: January 05, 2012, 05:06:32 PM
What do you think about BitPak for iOS?

http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bitpak/id489248095?mt=8

Not worth the money. It's bad enough to turn iOS users off from Bitcoin. They got my $3.99, and I deleted the app immediately after testing it. But great job to the developers who actually got a wallet approved.
659  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.info - Bitcoin Block explorer & Currency Statistics on: January 04, 2012, 09:02:12 PM
Great Cheesy
I still hope that you find a better way to get income ( even more than now ) without the fee Wink
Charge for mobile app, no fee for txn sent from app? Is that possible and profitable?
