If they're going to ask those 10,000 Americans to pay for the tax, I think it's a one step forward for legalising cryptocurrency. Is it right or not? Because they're trying to regulate bitcoin by paying taxes.
But I'm curious on what's inside those letters. And why only 10,000. I bet more than that are using crypto.
Did you read what happened? It looks like it's only 10K because Coinbase only gave them about 13k names. And that was kicking and screaming, with coinbases lawyers fighting it every step of the way. So out of 13k people some probably paid all the taxes and some were below some threshold for some reason. The rest got letters. -Dave

The other option that nobody really talks about much when it comes to regulated exchanges is that it might not even be your BTC that came from a DNM that is the issue. A little discussion I started a few months ago about the funding on collectible coins. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5146208But basically if you are not sure where some coins came from avoid regulated exchanges. Or what happened to you might happen. The amount also maters. If you are putting 100 BTC though a year and 0.002 BTC is a little off they will probably care less then if you are putting through .2 BTC a year and the history of .05 BTC goes back to a DNM. -Dave

But these are the warning letters regarding their savings , their investments in bitcoins. It is something that is good to do since most people used to get away from taxes by investing in bitcoins therefore the government is just making sure that it is not misused in any way , I do think this is actually right to do. Other people holding bitcoins and the ones giving taxes on time don't have to think about it. Also it is not warning letters , it's more like asking them to follow the law and order.
No, has nothing to do with their savings. It has to do with profits from buying and selling. As of now, I have asked the same question in many of the threads that have been created about this and nobody can answer this 1 simple question: Back in 2018 when Coinbase supplied the IRS with 13k or so users who had trades that were at or above certain thresholds. They let all those people know that they gave their info to the IRS. Has ANYONE who has received one of IRS letters NOT BEEN part of the group who got the notification from Coinbase. If you have THAT is important information. Other than that it's just noise / FUD -Dave

Yes, the latest version is 0.15.2 windows wallet? All downloads are here: https://www.noodlyappendagecoin.net/I am extremely behind in getting a new announcement thread going. That's 100% on me but I do hope to have something soon. However, all the information you need is in this thread. Thanks, Dave

With the fact the 99.999% of what comes out of Craig Wright is wrong and has been proven wrong. AND He just keeps spewing the same crap over and over. Anything posted from CCN should just about be ignored. After all they claimed that they were shutting down because of "Big Bad Google" https://www.ccn.com/ccn-is-shutting-down-after-googles-june-2019-core-update/But, they are still here. Sill posting drama BS. Ignore what Craig and CCN have to say and go about your life. -Dave

Putting aside the moral / ethical issues of horse racing that some people have. I think the biggest issue you have with it is that in the US & Canada you have a lot of OTB and other ways to bet on races. It tends to be for lack of a better term, more interactive then other forms of gambling. Cheering on your horse while sitting on your ass at home is not the same as being at the track or even in a betting parlor with other people.
Just my view.

And if somebody knows IRL that you have big amounts of Bitcoin and could come after you, the combination of multi-sig & obfuscation will not help, since there's a good chance he's do the 5$ wrench attack. Edit: I think that the easiest combo is BIP39 seed hidden in plain sight and keeping your mouth shut. There is nothing you can do about the wrench attack. ( Unless you are Chuck Norris http://www.icndb.com/the-jokes-2/ ) However, the more difficult you make it for other forms of theft the better. Remember, we are talking about edge cases here. You can beat somone with a wrench all you want, if their keys are in a vault in a bank, walking in covered in blood asking to get into the vault might raise a few alarms. -Dave

What I don't get about these types of scammers is the true lack of trying. Godaddy auctions / Namesilo auctions / etc. you can go pick up an aged domain for a few hundred dollars and at least look a bit legit.
A few minutes of searching found 2 or 3 that go back 7+ years for $100 USD
If you say you are a new casino, then fine your domain is new. If you want to tell people you have been around a while, at least put in some basic effort.

Original ColdCard You get exactly what you see in the picture. $75 shipped US, I will not ship this out of the US because I'm too damn lazy to go to the post office and fill out customs forms. Payment address will be: 1PhK9w8dP1iNuzArYLSMGTLT9GEGBYVgU5 -Dave

I did not see it in the thread but, "X" of "N" paper keys are very useful And then you can use misdirection. You can make a 4 of 6 wallet Label each piece 1 of 2 or 2 of 2 Someone gets 2 of them they then generate a private key for an address that has....nothing in it. Only you know that you really need 4 out of 6 pieces of paper that all say 1 of 2 or 2 of 2. Or get a cold card https://coldcardwallet.com/-Dave

Here is the coin from my latest win: It has arrived before the previous won coin. Really makes you wonder about the post office. I have seen this with other things coming in from overseas. At times it feels like it's flying 1st class across the ocean, other times it's buried at the bottom of a cargo container someplace and we'll get to it when we get to it. Thanks again krogothmanhattan. -Dave

So I expect Lightning's perceived UX issues to ameliorate a little, but mostly through familiarity-driven self interest.
I have been bouncing a reply to this one line in my head since I saw your post a few days ago. The word perceived is wrong. They are there. Everyone wants their pretty GUI menus and buttons on everything now. Your TV gets a lower review on AV site because the smart TV features are not pretty enough. If you want consumer level use you need to have that. It is not a were in alpha stage we will get to it. It's now become PART of alpha stage work. It all has to be done together. Because if LN is finished tomorrow but the UI / UX is not done for another 9 months then guess what LN is not done. Just my view. -Dave

Saw this thread so I decided to play here for a bit. Dropped a few mbtc playing around. Went to withdraw and I saw your fees are a bit on the high side. Just my opinion on that.
And then...my fans started to spool up. And saw my browser was taking up 1 entire cpu core. Looks like something on your site is not optimized. No idea what, might want to poke around to see what it is.

Seems sketchy at best. No history, high bonus, no operator information that I can see. With that being said, if you have a few bucks to loose then it's not the worst thing if you dump in some coin and play. If you win and can withdraw great. If not, you can post about it and let us all know to avoid them.

Well that's kind of backwards. You get to guess for your first few hundred reported posts, then we tell you what we think is good and what we think is bad. I would like to think that after 300 good reports I would have figured it out. Ah, well off to report some more. -Dave

I have 263 bad reports, and now that the new system out where bad reports are actually shown you'll be able to guess why, and hopefully improve upon that. Honestly, bad reports aren't that big of a deal.
Are you talking about the number of bad reports or is there a place that I can see which reports I made that were considered bad? The number of bad reports is nice, but the issue is when I went to bed I had 8 unhandled reports. I woke up with 2 unhandled reports and another 2 bad ones added to my count. I have no idea which ones were good, which ones were bad and which ones were not looked at yet. If there is a link to see which is which please share. If it's someplace obvious feel free to poke fun of me... Thanks, Dave
