661  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Education is a right or is more like a priveledge on: May 20, 2014, 08:20:29 PM
If you give a man a fish he is hungry again in an hour. If you teach him to catch a fish you do him a good turn.  Grin
Force a man to undergo 12 years of public education and incentivize him squander another half a decade of his life obtaining a BA and he may reach his mid-20s never having learned to fish.

The take home point: regarding education as a right != "teaching a man to fish."

Have to agree here.

Public education is more like a "welfare" to teachers and administrators than it serves the purpose of educating the young.

662  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will BTC hit $1000 again? on: May 20, 2014, 07:58:51 PM
Highly doubtful that it will hit over $1000 again.

There are many competitive coins out there waiting to prove themselves also.

663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Forget China, India will be next on: May 20, 2014, 07:54:41 PM
If India government trying to ban gold import to stop the outflow of money.

Guess what they will do to bitcoin when they discover it can totally by pass their control of rupee?

664  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think China will completely BAN bitcoin? on: May 20, 2014, 07:42:57 PM
The temporary ban with the deposit with exchange is to stop people from by passing the RMB control to move money out of country.

As soon as RMB is no longer a blocked currency. I do not think the Chinese government will care what currency/instrument/cryptocoin people use to settle trade.

I have a small update. A VP at Gridseed just asked that they can do to make this latest price drop right. Here is what I said:

Its pretty simple. First be fair to your customers. Stop charging as much as you can, just because you think you can. Its clear thats the case when you can drop the price by almost half in a few days.

Plus, this strategy is not going to work going forward anyways as new competitors are showing up. They may be small, but we (GAW) have the buying power to bring them global. Plus, I have a war chest of up to 100mm from my partners are Cantor to support other companies if I need to.

We need to do right by our customers, and what been happening is not that.

Specifically, with this situation. We should have the last two weeks of blade orders prorated to the new price so I can reimburse those customers. I don’t plan, or need, to keep a dime. I want to make it right to the customers.

Going forward the pricing should update on regular scheduled intervals. This way we can plan for this. And the customers can then decide when the right time to buy is.

A week after receiving two blades from GAW, Zoomhash now has them for $1100.  Is there price protection there?

There is another reseller selling for $829 including shipping.

The GAW Miners members area is: http://www.gawminers.com/members-area/ and you need your previous order # placed between 18 March and 1 April to get the discount pricing. Founders club info is at: http://www.gawminers.com/blog/gaw-founders-club/

When can customer bought after April 22nd join member area?

This is what's keeping me from using the miner. I can't get rid of the http:// in front of my worker name and password.

Send email to support@gawminers.com to resolve the issue.

I am an existing customer and I have many pools setup in the UI and I don't have this issue.  I am not sure why it does not work for you.

I am sure Jeff will figure this out for you.

Do you know how to set up multi pool on gawminer?

Using betarig as 1st pool then wemineltc on 2nd pool?

Thank you

Click pools in the UI and add all the possible pools that you will possibly be using.

Then click dashboard and then the click the drop down on your blade button and click config pools.  Add any of your pools you just configured in the order you want from the top to bottom in priority for primary and backup pools.

Betarig don't seem to be able detect the hash rate this way.

Also, the error rate seems rather high. Anyone know if this is going to be an issue?
