Owning bitcoin is no longer a path to great wealth. People who buy now may find a quick path to poverty.

Bitcoin price is always so strange, two days ago also once close to $390, Paypal a message about Paypal made the price get up to $460, Then slowly decline. This lets the human mind is always anxious ah, buy or sell it ?Next, the price is up is down?No one can give correct answers.
The rally is real on good news, but there are still more miners selling than speculators buying. A few years ago, mining were spread out over many small fish when people believe in the technology and horde all the coins they mined. This is no longer the case when ASIC came out and cooperation get involved.

1) bitcoin CAN be created in unlimited amounts, in the form of alternate crypto currencies, because the alternates serve the exact (if not better) functions/purposes that bitcoin does. Sure there won't be more than 21 million "bitcoins" in the universe, but there can (and will if bitcoin is mass adopted) be infinite amounts of cryptos just like bitcoin. It is only a matter of time. In this sense, bitcoin is no different from tulip bulbs, granite rocks, etc.
2) gold cannot be re created. There is only a set amount of gold in the universe (unless you create it at the atomic level which will cost much more than the gold created).
3) in this sense, bitcoin ultimately is not inflation free and is not unlimited. People will start to adopt bitcoin, and ultimately crypto currencies in general. New and better crypto currencies will inevitably develop and hence inflation happens in due time. And price starts to free fall.
The protocol of gold can be replicated as well. However, gold is rare. That is why rare stones and gems have value. Alternates are not rare, and are unlimited. I could tomorow create a new "coin" with same functions/protocols as bitcoin.
Network effect and consumer/producer/speculator ecology system from bitcoin still count for something. Also, infrastructure to support bitcoin is way greater than any alt coin out there.

Wow. I can't believe you Brits gotta pay £145/year for a license to watch tv.
Is that per TV? That'd be fucking madness.
What did the government do with the fee?

Dropping and dropping - that is now the trend. What do you think will happen to bitcoin? Will it see $200 by the end of the year?
More possible than ever. Before the fuss from China, bitcoin was stable around $100.

I am Chinese, actually I can still access the Forum through the phone network(CUCC) ,but the forum isn't available on the PC as the PC is connected to Internet with the CTCC network. This is my situation.
We could not say the GFW has banned the forum because we can get access to the forum in some way even it's unstable. But we believe the day that they ban the forum fully might come someday.
Doesn't make sense to ban internet but not phone network. There are also some crypto forums hosted in China, are they being affected?

Problem with crypto coin is the technology can be copied too easily. The network effect of bitcoin has can also be copied if government insist every federal and state employee to get paid using goverment version of crypto coin.

prices went up yet USD total swap went down. I guess no more hodlers, mainly savvy traders remain
Expected outcome for the market. In a long run game, the fool and the less experience will get wipe out.

And what fee and rate the exchange charge for bitcoin? Can ATM owner do their own mark up on the fee when dealing with customers?

imho skyrocketing art prices are a sign of tons of cheap money. it wants to get invested and forms bubbles. shouldn“t hurt our baby... Also a sign that wealthy individual has too much money on hand than what they know they can do with.

Anyone still nervous about apple ipay?
Paypal is just positioning themselves to compete with iPay, which I don't think it can help them much unless paypal lower their fee drastically.

Hello guys, As many have noticed, nobody received swaps interests on time tonight. They are just been credited as I wrote this post now. No interests are lost, the interests credited now include the last few hours of today, and tonight you will receive your daily interests minus those few hours already credited. My apologies for this delay. For the curious, let's just say the server on which these interests payments are launched is a bit overloaded and missed his "time window" for interests payment. A new server is already ordered and due for the end of the week Have a good day Raphael Bitfinex team I did received payment today, but it is quite low compare to what I am suppose to get.

Not a scam. But it's a very poor predictor of market outcomes. I did nothing but lose money following its advise -- for 30 years!
Most traders lose money. The few who make good money know when to quit when they are still ahead.

hmmm Peter is really pushing hard to get bitcoin holders to buy gold with their btc and he is even accepting bitcoin and cashing it in right away for cash via bitpay.
It seems he has a lot more faith in cash and fiat than btc.
Do you think he is just not understanding the future and technology of the block chain and digital assets bitcoin2? Obviously this is like the internet of 2014, and will make the internet way more interactive and exchange of money and assets much easier.
Thats the way I see it. I wonder if Peter was around saying btc is worthless when it went down in price in its first and second cycle etc.?
Schiff has his agenda, always bullish on precious metals and foreign markets, always bearish on US economy and dollar. You got to understand he's a salesman, most of what he says is what is in his best interest and to promote his company, but regarding bitcoin I think he's right. That's why I posted it here, I'm with him on this one. Agree. Stop listening to him after I realize he is just another salesman. What is his stance on bitcoin now? A "mirage" like what Buffet mentioned before?

The military is getting too bloated and too expensive to maintain.
If it is up to me, I will cut the military spending by half over the course of 8 years.
