Who would donate to that propaganda hell hole? There's back ups from when wikipedia still wrote the truth (or at least tried to).

I use Wikipedia for concrete information about things like botany, zoology, math, demographics, etc.

I avoid it for anything to do with politics or news and am skeptical about history.

Remember, Wikipedia doesn't supply content. Its content comes from a worldwide community of "editors" and as such is as vulnerable as any other social media to personal opinions and other bullshit.

Wikipedia has long accepted Bitcoin donations.

The problem is that they want donors to identify themselves and use an intermediary. They won't simply give a Bitcoin address where donors could anonymously send coin.

There is no freedom without anonymity. Screw them. No anonymity no donation.

Oh cool, I just realised I am legendary. What do I do? Celebrate?

Rest on your laurels.  Cool

Are you aware that Cygan posted this same Little Hodler already and that he is the one who regularly posts them?

More importantly, he at least had the decency to resize it. Your oversized images are getting really annoying.

472 days? We had an ATH less than a year ago.

What an idiot.

Ideally I'd like my 'business' to be so not work that it feels like retirement.

Retirement is a variable concept.

When a professional ballplayer retires it doesn't mean he stops paying ball. It just means he stops having to attend meetings, doing obligatory workouts, dealing with the media, etc. He still gets to keep having fun playing a kid's game.

I never considered myself an employee when I was playing in bar bands. I was a contracted self-employed professional. Sure we had to rehearse, deal with booking agents and club owners, and be our own roadies, but when we were onstage, we were playing... being paid to party. Now I go out and play when I want to. The pay's not the same but the fun is still there.

Even if you don't get rich, just being your own boss and having control over your life puts you as you said at a much better place.
If the business is something you are passionate about, the hours and effort won't seem like work.
The satisfaction gained from running your own business sees many continuing to work well past normal retirement ages, while for 9 to 5 employees retirement cannot come soon enough.

>>>If the business is something you are passionate about, the hours and effort won't seem like work.<<<

Mark Twain once said, "work is what a fellow is obliged to do". If you treat your business as a hobby, it's not work.

>>>The satisfaction gained from running your own business sees many continuing to work well past normal retirement ages, while for 9 to 5 employees retirement cannot come soon enough.<<<

And then when employees retire, they don't know what to do with themselves and the stress ages them quickly.

Most businesses have a way of winding down naturally, so retirement is less abrupt.

Edit: Thanx Toxic for my 3000th merit. It was a while coming.

It's still Sunday here.
I'd better write a haiku
Before it's too late.

Still going sideways.
We hodlers don't give a fuck.
Up and down... who cares?

We enjoy living
Happily ever after,
Grateful for Bitcoin.

In the USA are property taxes paid at the state level?

Here in Ontario taxes are collected municipally. In Mexico we don't pay any property taxes.

Benedict Arnold was a patriot, loyal to his king.

George Washington was an opportunistic traitor, glorifying himself and furthering his career through treason.

Happy 4th.  Cool

Good day Bitcoinland.
One nine two nine six dollars
(Bitcoinaverage).

So here we are:
Another Haiku Sunday.
It's time to relax.

Bird's in the oven,
Just made some margaritas
For my wife and me.
____

Still buying the house,
Found alternate financing...
No more Bitcoins sold!

Small reverse mortgage
Fully open with low rates
From private lender.

I can wait it out:
No payments necessary
And no banks involved.

The best part is that
I can use rent revenues
To buy more Bitcoin.

The next ATH
I can pay off the mortgage
With no penalty.

All I can say is:
Life is good. Thank you Bitcoin.
Life is very good.

A decade and a half ago I closely followed the robotics advances made by David Hanson (Hanson Robotics) while he was a student at UTD. While David himself focused more on the physical aspects of humanoid robots he subcontracted the AI aspects to a group from California. The results were astonishing for that time.

They developed an AI sense of humor (Philip K. Dick), AI altruism (Jules), AI cynicism (Joey Chaos) and other traits mimicking human emotions and behavior.

Now it seems someone has been using the WO as a testing ground for other humanoid AI experiments: AI verbosity and AI egotism.  Cool

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Another day, another leg down... currently $18862USD/$24572CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Still waiting to see how this goes. What a week.
___

It looks like I may have to pass on the house I was planning on buying. I'd rather forfeit my $70k deposit than sell another $1.3m+ at these prices.

When I signed the purchase-sale agreement, Bitcoin was worth over $40kUSD. I started to DCA my BTC liquidation and was about a third of the way there after selling another 5BTC last week (June 6-10). I planned to sell another 3 coins on Monday and more again on Friday (yesterday) but backed off when I saw the dip. I consulted my main OTC connections who said they were also suspending business until things stabilized a bit. Now it's almost a week later and there's no rebound in sight.

The house is what I'd been looking for... ideal downtown location, income potential (AAA tenants in place), fully renovated, rooftop garden, etc...
but I'm not going to gut my BTC nest egg to buy it. I don't want to ever have a mortgage again. I learned that lesson over 30 years ago when my cheap 6.5% mortgages jumped to almost 20%. I laugh at kids who bellyache about single-digit inflation. I swore I'd only ever pay cash. Credit is a scam.

My BTC stash is still enough to live happily ever after. I want to keep it that way.

Meanwhile, 1BTC still = 1BTC.

My coins are still safe. Paper wallets FTW.

Sometimes I think he's trolling us... I just can't believe someone is just so stupid or unlucky or both...  Grin

Was it Bawb who mentioned Dunning-Kruger?
