Good morn Bitcoinland.
One one eight one eight Yankee bucks
(Bitcoinaverage).

Still going sideways
As it has for all August.
Very boring... yawn.

Luckily hodlers
Do not need to be concerned
With summer doldrums.

Price fluctuations
Mean very little to them
Long term we'll go up.

I personally think you should not be forced to wear a mask. Or a seatbelt.

Just as I think I should wear a mask and not be hassled for it.

Just remember that
Masks protect other people
More than the wearer.

So obviously
Hassling a mask wearer
Is just plain stupid.

Too bad some people
Have made this political
When it's medical.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still sideways in the $11xxx range... currently $11812USD/$15652CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Ah, the summer doldrums.

Amazing days for crypto!
I expect bitcoin and eth to hit ATHs very soon

You appear to be lost kind sir or kind madaam.   Undecided

how can you be so bearish?  Shocked

It's not about being bearish. JJG is usually pretty bullish.

It's about this being a Bitcoin thread.

There's a whole sub-forum for Altcoin Speculation.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=224.0

"Crypto" is an annoying term (often accompanied by "blockchain technology") used by those who don't recognize the superiority of decentralized, non-pre-mined, limited-supply Bitcoin.
1663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 11, 2020, 07:27:46 PM
wall o text

I don't usually merit walls of text but that was classic.

Two of my pet peeves: idiot trolls and the word "crypto".
1664  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 11, 2020, 05:02:10 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Bit of a dip... currently $11434USD/$15205CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Right back to where we were 4 days ago.

Oh the humanity.

Trollololololol
...So what is it ? a noob or a troll?  I concede there is a high chance you're both.

Not a noob... trollin' since 2013.
1665  Economy / Speculation / Re: Top 20 days for Bitcoin on: August 11, 2020, 02:31:12 PM
AYHs in all 5 currencies.

Nice.
1666  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 10, 2020, 02:09:35 PM
Jimbo after Bitcoin moons:

Man:  Er, hi - I've come about the driving job?
Jimbo:  Great! But first, see that vacuum cleaner?  Let me see you use it.

might as well have one guy for both, eh?

Guy?

 Grin
1667  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 10, 2020, 01:13:06 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Barting up and down and most of the way back up again... currently $11885USD/$15906CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Obviously the battle for $12k is far from over. Let's hope it doesn't take as long as $9k did.

Go Bitcoin go.

Damn those nanny-state drivers' licenses.

Am I being forced to be responsible for other people's safety?

If people don't want to share the road with unlicensed drivers, they should stay home.  Angry

I work hard at being a safe driver. I resent the deep state questioning my ability to drive safely.

Most likely you don't know how to drive Jimbo, you just use a car. [because you - still - work hard]
A licensed driver - unfortunately - doesn't mean he can drive shit. Driving (safely or not) must come effortlessly, after the effort of learning.

If you couldn't see that I was being sarcastic, you've obviously got your blinders on even tighter than usual. I was mocking some clown who claimed he worked so hard on his immune system he shouldn't wear a mask.

No I don't work hard. I haven't driven a car since 1966 (except once in an emergency). When I originally got my license, it was a  snap. Passed the test with ease on my first try.

Driving is no big thing. I compare it with operating a vacuum cleaner. If I have to do it myself, no problem, but I'd rather have someone else do it.
1668  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 10, 2020, 02:07:41 AM
Happy $12k.

By the way, Jimbo, what do you think about the idea of driving to Mexico?  You think that it is a bit crazy?  Can carry more stuff (presuming that you can get through the borders), but then don't want to have a very nice car either, because could be a target, right?  Stick to the main roads, only drive during the day?  That kind of thing?

Do you have any opinions one direction or another whether you thought about it or actually did it?  I know if you travel from Canada, then you would be passing through two borders, but I am just presuming the part about being able to get through the borders, and thereafter, just the issues of driving through .. maybe entering through the Loredo crossing going to Monterey then to Mexico City and then going to whatever other destination(s) from there.  I realize that there are some areas the people avoid driving through and maybe just attempt to watch whether any specific tensions or incidents might be happening in terms of passing through one area or another that might have potential issues of getting shook down.

First of all, any international travel is foolish until Covid-19 is brought under control. I'll assume you're talking about how it was pre-covid. No one knows what it will be like post-covid. Things have changed.

Personally, I'd feel safer driving through Mexico than driving through the USA, although if you stayed on the interstates, that might not be too bad.

Don't believe all the MSM bullshit about Mexico being a dangerous place to travel. The cartels don't bother foreigners unless they stick their noses in cartel business or flash wealth around, especially in areas dependent on tourism, which includes most of Mexico. They understand that their wealth depends on a healthy economy. This is the reason they have been providing massive food relief to the poor during the pandemic and have been enforcing face mask wearing while the government has been doing nothing. If you're caught in Playa del Carmen without a mask, you've gotta deal with the cartels, who can't be bought off for a few pesos like the local cops.

The ones to fear while traveling on the highways away from tourist areas are the Federales who might relieve you of anything they find, but they are less of a threat due to efforts by AMLO to replace them with the much less corrupt military.

Obviously in any place you don't know, you should stay on the beaten path, avoid bad neighborhoods and avoid flashing wealth or acting rich and arrogant, especially after dark.

As for borders, I'd worry more about entering the USA. Never had a problem at either Mexican or Canadian borders. Then again I've never driven. I do know that importing automobiles into Mexico is a hassle. Don't know about simply driving in and out as a tourist. Might be easier and cheaper to simply fly and rent a car if you really think you need to drive. It depends on what you plan to do there. Public transportation is cheap.

Good morn Bitcoinland.
Eleven grand six hundred
(Bitcoinaverage).

No face mask seat belt
Discussions this morning please...
Only Bitcointalk.

Sideways is boring.
Time to start moving upward
Over twelve thousand.

So go Bitcoin go.
Fly all the way to the moon.
Make us hodlers rich.

Or at least richer.
With health, friends and family
We're already rich.

No worries there Jimbo...once self-driving AI is proven by the state to be safer than human drivers, the nanny state will get rid of driver's licenses entirely and no one will be allowed to drive themselves anymore.

OMG What will the insurance companies do?

It's just sad to see this turning into a political issue.

It's sad to see people allowing their lives to be turned into political issues.

Wearing a mask is the easiest part of all of this. Try having 2 flights cancelled with zero ability to get refunded and waiting in lines for hours to get paperwork just to be able to go home, in hopes you can catch a new flight before the travel period on the paperwork expires.

Be part of Team Humanity for once, for just a little while longer, and wear the stupid mask when you're gonna be around other people.

Nobody's tracking you or trying to suppress your rights. Trust me, if you think the mask is the problem, you're not smart enough to be worth tracking.

No sense trying to reason with anti-mask crybabies. They've been so brainwashed with political propaganda they think everyone's out to steal their freedom. I'm surprised they haven't targeted drivers' licenses as abuses of the nanny state.
1676  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 08, 2020, 01:34:12 PM
Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still basically sideways but with a slight upward drift... currently $11761USD/$14742CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Maybe $12k over the weekend?

Seat belts save lives. So do masks.
That's so lame Jimbo.
How can you even compare those two things?

I could have also mentioned life jackets in speedboats (I don't need one, I'm a good swimmer!), safety harnesses, or any other life-saving devices.

I was comparing safety devices that crybabies won't use because they don't want to be told what to do by some "nanny state". No one's telling me what to do. Boo hoo hoo.

I suppose it was not a true comparison though... sea belts protect the wearer, while face masks protect everyone.

Facemasks are muzzles. This is how wild and free animals are tamed in the Covid-19 circus.

Seat belts are leashes. This is how wild and free animals are tethered in the highway circus.  Roll Eyes

Wifey drove home from work, but instead of joining her brother's birthday party, she got into a car accident.  Undecided
74yo lady in front of her missed her turn and hit the brakes, honey bunny managed to stop about a foot behind her. So far so good, but the two ladies behind crashed my babe's car into the 74yo granny's volkswagen caddy. Hospital, x-ray, CAT scan. No cracks or dislocations, luckily, but severe spinal trauma. Now she's in serious pain, the safety belt left an impressive mark on her chest. She's in home care since today, so i'll be occasionally reading WO in the next few days or weeks, depending on how things develop.

My heartfelt sympathy and wishes for a speedy recovery. Be thankful she had enough sense to wear a seat belt.

Glad she was wearing a seat belt, otherwise she might have a different face.

No effing kidding. First time I had my life saved by a seat belt (concrete median of freeway after black ice skid) it felt like someone had hit me across the chest with a baseball bat. That was before airbags. I imagined what a dashboard to the face would have felt like.

The last time a seat belt saved my life was in a head-on collision (truck-on-truck) at highway speed. Took them 2 hours to pry me out of the wreckage with the jaws of life. Luckily, for the second hour I had an oxygen tube to suck on. I could barely breathe.

The seven ribs broken by the seat belt definitely saved my life. They also taught me how to ignore pain. What doesn't kill you most definitely makes you stronger, also makes you appreciate life and not be a pessimist loser.

When I see people refusing to wear face masks during a pandemic it reminds me of the retards who refuse to wear a seat belt. You know the type... when they see a cop they'll pull the belt down and stick it under their leg, refusing to click it shut. Nobody's telling them to wear a seat belt. They'll rationalize why they shouldn't wear one... it'll trap you in the vehicle, it'll destroy your immune system, you're more likely to be magically thrown free, breathing your breath back in will asphyxiate you, etc., etc.

Seat belts save lives. So do masks.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Going basically sideways... currently $11628USD/$15550CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Ho hum.

A ledger nano s with 50000 BTC is way heavier than a bank's vault for sure! And we are talking of a "USB stick" with an unimaginable size of wealth hidden inside!

That Ledger Nano is a lead weight compared to a paper wallet.

Actually I do like Wikipedia, IIRC I've even donated some money to them (a long time ago). Not sure if they have a hidden agenda and all that conspiracy theory stuff, but I do enjoy their articles. In science/technology subjects (which I'm mostly interested in) they are OK.

I also have donated to Wikipedia but not recently since they won't accept anonymous contributions.

If you click on "Other Ways to Give", they accept Bitcoin but steer you to Bitpay instead of simply posting an address to make donations to.

Bitpay wants you to identify yourself. Screw that.

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Still creeping slowly upward... currently $11866USD/$15760CAD (Bitcoinaverage).

Slow and steady wins the race.

Go Bitcoin go.
