661  Economy / Speculation / Re: My theory is proving true once again on: July 24, 2014, 02:24:34 PM
Don't people who use their BTC to buy from Bitcoin-accepting merchants usually replenish their lost BTC after a while? That would create a net neutral effect on Bitcoin prices.

I doubt that most early adopters, who still have hundreds thousands of BTC bought for a few dollars, would want to buy back the same amount at a price higher by a few orders of magnitude after spending them with a new merchant.

FTFY. Early adopters can easily replenish and even increase their BTC holdings by trading.

trading is a good way to lose your BTC holdings, even if you manage to not lose in trades, you still lose money to the exchange by paying a percentage trading fee.
662  Economy / Speculation / My theory is proving true once again on: July 24, 2014, 01:11:33 PM
I had a theory that major retailer acceptance has a short term DOWN effect on the price. Because when a major retailer announce acceptance, old coin holders rush to spend some bitcoin to support that retailer, often creating millions of dollars of transaction volume in a few days, and all these bitcoin will be converted to fiat by the retailer, creating sell pressure, for the short term.
663  Economy / Speculation / Re: Which profession has the best chance of predicting Bitcoin prices? on: July 23, 2014, 02:56:26 PM
Wallstreet traders, they can predict the price, and have the money to make it true.

665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible for somebody to collect all bitcoins? on: July 21, 2014, 06:00:27 PM
Let's say we have 1 billion dollars and we try to buy all at once bitcoins, but we cant get them all because most of them not on exchanges, it takes 6 months to buy %99 i am sure some people will forget and never sell their BTCs. So practically impossible to see.

lol you are extremely lucky if you could buy 10% of all bitcoin on open exchange with 1 billion dollars. Then the next 10% would cost you at least 10 Billion.
666  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS] DELL is now accepting Bitcoin !!! on: July 19, 2014, 01:34:27 PM
And Dell is almost out of business so they have to do something.

Nope, they were doing good, a cashcow, but not growing in terms of revenue. So Michael Dell with the help of some PE took DELL private, to re-invent the company. This is a good start.

At no point in DELL's history were they going out of business.

nobody mining LTS?
the block at 2052
3 hours?
maybe you are on the wrong fork
download the updated version from github
remove every thing from your lottoshare roaming folder except wallet.dat and sync again

We're seeing long block times because someone with descent hashpower is coinhopping LTS. Miners be warned, the difficulty adjustment algo will make this easy pickings for the multi pools.

Btw, I'm 0 for 13 and down 130 LTS .. The lotto seems overly stingy...

play 1 LTS at a time. You don't buy $130 worth of lottery tickets every week. (well most of us don't)

I have played a ticket on the forked chain, how do I get the lts back? looks like that transaction isn't confirming now that I'm on the right chain.

Finally I'm on the right chain, and this ticket has 3 confirmations now.

Through the 3 years of on and off mining, I have came to the conclusion, that whenever you are itching to buy some mining hardware, buy the coin instead. 99% of the time, buying the coin is better than buying hardware.
671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LTS] LottoShares - airdrop for BTC and DOGE holders on: July 16, 2014, 08:28:20 PM
Suggestion: add a "remember" checkbox when playing a ticket, because I play the same set of numbers all the time, so I don't have to re-enter them each time.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LTS] LottoShares - airdrop for BTC and DOGE holders on: July 15, 2014, 03:45:13 PM
There is already a ticker LTS : Lotuscoin.

Can we think of another more distinctive tag before trading starts ?

How about LOTTOS

edit..

LOTTS  is better.

just  5 characters, and it reflects the abundance of the distribution !

Never heard of it, LottoShares is much bigger IMO, let the best coin win the tag.

my btc addresses are not included in bitcoin.txt even tho the balance on them is above 0.1

any comment on this?

also i get an error when trying to import my pts keys. worked fine for memorycoin

Were they in that address when the snapshot block is mined? Block 302,000 for Bitcoin

675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Way to fire up Bitcoin-QT once a week to sync blocks, then quit? on: July 14, 2014, 04:22:14 PM
Same as on any OS, use the task scheduler for your OS, to start bitcoin-qt, wait 2-3 hours, then shut it down.

I agree, this is probably the biggest thing ever after the birth of Bitcoin. This could potentially be bigger than Bitcoin.
677  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Make every btc 1000 btc on: July 11, 2014, 05:23:27 PM
Turn every btc into 1000 btc Smiley
people will see btc is $1 and they will buy it to $1000 again.
who are the devs??
can i ask them?  Smiley

people think btc is very high because they can't buy a full one with pocket money.
but if they can buy a full btc with pocket money they will buy alot.
also it will make me happy. thanks.  Smiley

Shit, that's brilliant, but why stop at 1000 btc? let's turn every btc into 10000000000000000000000000000 btc,

Everyone can buy a quintillion btc, with pocket money, surely they will buy it into $100000000000000000
678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Judge Shoots Down ‘Bitcoin Isn’t Money’ Argument in Silk Road Trial on: July 11, 2014, 05:16:58 PM
This is really not a surprise as the Ulbright team made a very weak argument in reference to the money laundering charge.

I think the other charges are questionable since AFAIK he did not actually sell any of the drugs, but rather ran the website. I think the charges are similar to bringing charges against this forums mods for scams done by other users.

With that being said the muder for hire accusations are very troubling and I am very curious as to why he was not charged with these crimes, even though the murders were apparently not carried out (he could be charged with solicitation of trying to hire a hitman, or whatever the appropriate name of the charge would be).

It's one thing have scams happen on the forum. It's entirely another thing when you have illegal substance as categories listed for people to buy/sell items in, and also made a ton of forum posts related to these items.

How did the thief get your encrypted wallet? did you also backup your wallet on the same dropbox account where you stored password in plaintext?
680  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can you help me refute a contrarian? on: July 04, 2014, 03:50:53 AM
Actually 0.00001% of the population owns 90% of the world's wealth, they are just well hidden, through indirect holding thousands of companies. The Rothschild family alone owns about 50 trillion of wealth.
