Any dev who would be interested for the job? Please get back to me!

Hi crowncoin_knight,

Good to see you here - did you hear back from the dev who emailed you? It's beyond my capabilities I'm afraid, but maybe if you offered a bounty of some kind?  Wink

I hope SPT announce something sooner rather than later. I'll not touch Bitmain......

Code:
minrelaytxfee=0.0001
mintxfee=0.0001

What are the standard settings if nothing is specified in the .conf file? I read about changing these in a guide alse where, but it was a little dated so decided against it.

Edit: Aaaaand another block!!  Grin
665  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] Avalon 4.1 Miner 1.3 TH 40+ units on: July 12, 2015, 09:24:16 AM
The OP said it:

Ok so latest from Avalon is that they are completely sold out of new units, but have used units to sell. If people don't care that they are used I will try and negotiate a price for used.

But like you say - I doubt it'll happen......
666  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Bitcoin Mining Pool List on: July 12, 2015, 08:37:38 AM
How about listing those pools that are churning out empty blocks & therefor not contributing to the Bitcoin Network?

We will continue do SPV mining despite the incident, and I think so will AntPool and BTC China.

Another very good reason people should not mine on Chinese pools.  This is EXTREMELY bad for the Bitcoin network.

It would help miners make a more ethical decision about what pool to use & also help decentralize the hash power away from the bigger pools who aren't towing the line  Wink
667  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-07-11] F2POOL Generates Biggest Bitcoin Transaction Ever Recorded on: July 11, 2015, 09:47:11 PM
Quoting jgarzik: "Dear headline writers, A pool cannot simply generate a large TX from other peoples' bitcoin."

https://twitter.com/jgarzik/status/619970170287751168

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I wonder if f2pool paid them to write that in an effort to deflect criticism towards them & "other" pools for churning out empty blocks?

http://chain.huntercoin.org/

not that new, but syncing shouldn't take long at all from there

Download speed is sloooooow........any chance you can upload it to mega?

thought i would ask here too, anyone know if f2pool is merge mining ltc/huc? i know they are with btc Smiley

I don't know I'm afraid - but I wouldn't recommend mining at any pool that is churning out empty blocks, f2pool being one of them.

Still waiting for news.........any updates?

EDIT:

BEWARE!!! THERE IS A SCAMMER IN OUR MIDST!!!!

!!! WARNING: This user is a newbie. If you are expecting a message from a more veteran member, then this is an imposter !!!

Im trying to set up a group buy for the Avalon 4.1 miner: https://ehash.com/product/avalon4-module-1t/

For those that are not familiar its their latest product and is similar to an S5 in performance, and can run .55 W/GH under clocked @  980 GH/s. Main selling point over the S5 is that its SUPER quiet and is perfect summer bedroom/home miner with full metal enclosure.

Vids of how quiet here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d7UTdo_4AaQ

Problem is of course the price...individual units they want to charge around $600 shipped to the States, which is crazy. I have contacted them for a bulk buy and currentlly have them at $440 per unit shipped to the states if I buy over 40 units.

Pretty sure I can get them closer to 400 if I know this will go through, so I will be buying 6 units myself and would need 34 units picked up by other people.

I figure we all do individual payments (in BTC) to trusted escrow account that will pay ehash directly once all money is received, but we can get a group consensus on how we want to handle the buy if we have enough buyers!

So if interested post the number of units you would buy! (btw they have 80 in stock, probably more so if we get a lot of interested we can go over 40 and reduce price even more).

Still waiting for news.........any updates?

Good news guys,

I have had confirmation that the shipment will be arriving this Thursday.

Payment has been received for 13 units today so there are now 21 remaining on a first come first served basis.

Thanks to the recent BTC spike the current price is now 1.29BTC inc. express shipping.

Should you wish to reserve any units from the first batch the address is :

1AQWBPbLkpqw9PcHvEjBYPR8WnCY2Vzxrs

After transfer please remember to pm me the transaction I.D followed by shipping information and total number of units ordered.

These wont be around long so dont delay Wink

Thanks..

CAREFULL GUYS/GALS - DON'T SEND A SINGLE SATOSHI!!!!!!!!

Daemon compiled & running on Xubuntu 14.04 without issue. I started it with the extra "--reindex --upgrade-wallet" options initially & it seems to be fine  Smiley

I still see this:

Code:
error: {"code":-2,"message":"Safe mode: WARNING: Displayed transactions may not be correct!  You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade."

shouldn't get that message though mate.

Right - maybe I should download a new blockchain? Has a new one been uploaded?

I have the same message on my windoze PC running the QT wallet also, looks like a new blockchain download is needed then.......bummer  Sad

671  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CrownCoin (CRW) announcement on: July 11, 2015, 03:41:17 PM
The project is not abandoned.
1. We need someone who would help with merged mining. Anyone out here? Get in touch....
2. Aso a parallell project is being developed - CRW will be part of it together with BTC
3. We also want to implement CRW to the Bitcoin Trezor project - one of our knights is pushing for that hard

crowncoin knights: first in - last out! This is no hypo approach but slowly going for it and the time is coming...

The logo was actuallay pretty cool Cheesy One of the best I've seen around imo. Would be cool to see some life back into it. We can all wish Wink

Yeah, the website is good too - it's strange that they put so much work into the project then immediately abandon it......

There are many devs out there who can help you implement merge mining - domob, ahmedbodi, phelix, rikski or any other coin dev that is merge minable - you just have to reach out them.......or post a request for help on the Merge Mined Coin Association (MeMiCA) thread:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1008100.0

if you do that, this coin could really take off!  Grin
672  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: July 11, 2015, 03:25:03 PM
Another yummy block  Smiley

A proper one too, that contributes to the network. Unlike some other pools empty blocks........ Wink

A few more would be super nice.......
673  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Empty blocks on: July 11, 2015, 02:16:29 PM
Wow, long text, but interesting!

I see 2 options:

#1. More "advertising" to increase awareness between miners about this problem, maybe some will switch pool.
#2. Implement into the network something to force them to play fair.

I don't know if #2 is actually possible, but that would be the way to go. I find this more important than increasing the block size.

Both good suggestions, I was thinking along similar lines. Maybe a sticky or some kind of bold statement from organofcorti in his pools thread, or any respected community members for that matter would help? I'm sure that #2 would be possible somehow, but it would take time to implement I think.....?

EDIT: Some kind of list showing which pools are contributing to the network & which ones aren't - name & shame kinda thing......

676  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [20 TH/s] [NEW POOL] [FUTURE PPLNS] [1 BITCOIN BONUS] BeastBTC.COM on: July 11, 2015, 12:12:15 PM
Nothing about the content of this thread thus far adds up, and if somebody actually points hardware at this pool they deserve everything that comes (or more likely: doesn't come) from it in the long run.

Absolutely right as always eleuthria!  Wink

Sometimes I despair at the direction mining is going in, even more so now that you have decided to call it a day. Scam pool after scam pool, weather it be the cloud mining ponzi or good old hardware type, seem to come & go after ripping off noobs & running off with their funds again & again. Miners see the 0% fee, free givaways, promises of bonus payments, free miners etc, etc and instantly fall over themselves pointing their miners at a pool because they believe it's "free", ignoring all warnings from anyone & everyone about how such a service can't possibly exist.

Who will save us now?

What's that? Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No...wait....it's.....p2pool! P2pool will save us all from centralized scam pool oblivion......hoooraaaahh!!
677  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Empty blocks on: July 11, 2015, 11:37:36 AM
It is a little worrying. With the attacks currently taking place & these pools that are not pulling their weight or contributing to the network, it would be nice if the mining community tried to increase awareness of the harm they are doing. It seems to me that these pools are biting the hand that feeds them, leeching even. I've read so many complaints from miners about extended tx confirmation times & fees, yet they continue to mine at the very pools that are making the situation worse - am I right?

If so, what does anyone suggest?

678  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Empty blocks on: July 11, 2015, 12:16:38 AM
And our Chinese pools continue to mine empty blocks, even with 13k unconfirmed transactions waiting... 364748 mined by f2pool is empty.

It's not just the Chinese either. I'm not sure what's worse, the pools that are knowingly throwing out these empty blocks in search of greed - or the miners that mine with them......in search of greed...... Sad
679  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3900 TH] Kano CKPool (kano.is) from the cgminer devs [0.9% PPLNS] on: July 10, 2015, 11:28:39 PM
Just to let miners know, Kano and I worked on minimising the latency of bitcoind under the current flood of transactions and I'm happy to say that we've been able to deploy some of my custom modifications to this and solo ckpool which still guarantee maximum transaction processing (i.e. never a zero transaction block) while minimising the risk of stale work / orphans.

Gimme gimme........ Wink Cheesy
680  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - Decentralized MMO in the Blockchain on: July 10, 2015, 06:18:06 PM
The Repo has been updated with the new hardfork  - block 795k

I'm waiting confirmation that the exchanges and mining pool have updated and will then release the binaries.

Good news - I noticed it earlier actually....will I need to re-download a new blockchain - or will a simple --reindex --upgrade-wallet when first launching the daemon suffice?

Thanks.
