First batch of 20 test boards just ordered. Expect to see them here in 10-12 days if all goes well. That's awesome! Great job BkkCoins. Are you referring to the single Avalon chip or the Klondike? -Allten I think the boards that houses the chips, no one has chips besides the people with avalon miners I think.

I've had multi-meters made by this company and they worked fine. They seem to stock UNI-T at some local shops in Bkk so I'll check that out when I'm there in a couple days. They aren't very competitive here so I suspect the price is better on eBay but the shipping may offset that. First line in the specs: "The volume exquisite and it is convenient for carrying;" ha ha, so typical. for the oscilloscope user on the go!

These chips will be coming from group buy #1. I bought them with the intention of being able to mine sometime in August, but due to some unfortunate circumstances , I can no longer afford to have 50BTC tied up at the moment. So I am selling all of the 592 chips that I paid for. The order number is #10129

<- Is reselling in the usa I posted somewhere way back up the thread that I thought a kit could be $16, and assembled $25, both without the ASIC. I'm not sure what the ASIC will end up costing people. I bought mine back when BTC was quite low and it was $6 each. Now I think they're going for almost double that.
I think that is still a reasonable target price now. Expect somewhat lower prices for bulk qty.
(An assembled unit would have an ASIC installed but it would have to be provided or arranged somehow, eg. a group buy sending a batch to me).
Thanks! $25 assembled excluding the Asic seems like a fair price and I think this should sell out without any issues. At present prices we are looking at around $40 for completed unit together with an asic and basic shipping/handling (taking your $3 registered shipping which i know you mentioned somewhere). I can already see a lot resellers stocking these up and selling them in their own regions/country. This would be good as it would introduce many new users to bitcoins. Personally I am planning to buy a bulk of these and give them away as gifts to friends and family.

Since i bought 12 + 2 outside the auction time and already payed for them all shouldnt i have some discount since you are now saying that it costs 48.99 in quantities bigger then 10?
I do not think is fair that i paid 50 for all of them just some hours ago...
please let me know. thanks
Of course it's fair. You agreed to the terms offered already. plus, you get a neat rack!

First test board ready to send off to the factory. Here is a render of it 2up, 5cm x 5cm. This is the under side. 2 LEDs on other side (top): Green - Power, Red - Activity. (position marked near left edge) Heat sink will cover from 5mm left side to near the USB connector. The small connector at left edge is for daisy chaining or connecting to K16. (It's an I2C bus.) Although my test boards will be green, I'm really thinking of using white for the final product (because white and LEDs are just so bling - I just need a blue anodized heat sink).
Sorry, if I missed this. But is there a estimated cost for the board and assembly (minus the chips) Thanks It was said that it would be 16 for a kit and 25 assembled not including chips, but you'll have to contact bkkcoins if this has changed or if you can get it from him.

Since bitcoin is based on hashcash, why is it so hard to simply make transactions using hashcash for sending btc? You can limit transaction spam by simply adding a nonce and hashing it. Then if the txid is lower than another target, it is accepted, otherwise it is rejected. Since It'll be so hard to make this compatible with previous versions of btc, I suggest it is used only for microtransactions. so if the amount is under 0.005 btc or whatever, make it require a hashcash signature.

hm, maybe have it work like this?
Person A makes up a question
"What's 5 times 2?"
It sends it to all other miners, you are allowed one attempt per minute (using traditional mining targets)
Then sends it to all other miners to verify it is correct, if a miner disagrees (lets say you type 12) it ignores it.
After getting the answer, you hash it again and try to get lower than another target, if you do, you find a block and submit another question.
There are a million flaws to this idea, but that's all I can think of for the basic concept. It seems really hard to figure out a way to make it decentralized and cheat proof. But I concur with previous arguments, the concept itself seems flawed.
As for the whole, it's not fair and the poorer get poorer and the richer get richer, cry me a river. Wealth IS created. The fiat money that people use is just a placeholder for things people actually need, aka wealth.

The price would probably get killed since it's the number one exchange, but it is still a 3rd party, I'm sure another would pop up (or one existing one would get more customers) and it would restabilize

Need to get a method of mass producing these, I'd take 5 at least!
KCC can hopefully get 592 done, or find resources. Still probably gonna need to find more chips with the interest coming in.
