681  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 9 top of the line rigs, whole or parted out (now with pricing) on: February 13, 2013, 09:35:19 PM
Received another update from Postal Annex:

They finally got ahold of a real person at the Post Office.  The Post Office has officially "lost" the package, as it was scanned into the system leaving Idaho then not scanned again.  They are looking into the matter and hope to find what went wrong.

In the meantime, Postal Annex has filed a claim and will follow up tomorrow.

They also asked me to make sure you have REALLY not received the package.  IE, is it hiding under snow?  Or in the bushes at your front door?

freaking bizarre.

I'll do the once over when I get home from work, but the snow melted pretty low recently, and im sure I would've seen it if it was haphazardly thrown in the snow. Mail delivery here always puts it on the open balcony by the door. Also, whats going to happen with my 17BTC? Will I get that back?

A refund depends on the outcome of the postal service investigation.  If they eventually deliver it, and everything is as agreed, no refund.

If they lost it, I will try to pursue some sort of claim (not sure if they have a nominal amount they will pay like Fedex).

If all else fails, we can determine the dollar price the deal was made at and discuss a refund on those terms.

paying less than 1% face was a good bet.  I would do it again.

Hardly the same thing as believing in 3600%.  And unicorns.

Re: 214BTC Bitcoinmax account for sale
I bid 75 BTC
35%

Re: 150+10 bitcoinmax account for sell,,,,,,130BTC,user#28
I bid 50 BTC
31%

Re: BitcoinMax Account For Sale (1915 BTC) @ 60%
I will give you 100 BTC.

Given the developing situation, I don't think that is lowball.
5.2%

Let's stick to the facts please.

LOL.  So you take offers from before it was a known default, in an attempt to refute the actual deal I struck for over 10,000 BTC in face value for less than 1%?

You messed yourself with fail.
684  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Find Trendon Shavers in person thread... [BTCST, BTS&T, pirateat40] on: February 12, 2013, 10:21:36 PM
So you claim you made a profit on the secondary market?

Note to self:  include yochdog's profit in SEC investigation...

Lol.  The bitterness just seethes.

Amazing that no one with skin in the game cares enough to try to hold him to account.  My guess is they feel too foolish, knowing how ludicrously naive it was to believe in 7% a week.
We all do, right? I remember seeing your bids for Bitcoinmax account after Pirate defaulted. Some believed in 7%, others believed that he'd pay back after admitting default.
But yeah, recovering coins would mean a nice share as a payment.

Hardly the same thing as believing in 3600%.  And unicorns.

At 7%/week, you don't believe you'll make your money back, so you don't put any. But at 1% face value, you now believe you'll make your money back?!?! It's still the same bullcrap asset.

What ever happened to the SEC's investigation?

Like any serious investigation, we don't know. Investigators don't go on a public forum telling all the details of their work. Especially when the guy they investigate can read it.

Clearly you have little experience with default proceedings.

Do some Google homework and brush up on the secondary market trading in Madoff debt.

This guy really gonna get away with stealing millions from fools with no consequence?

What a country.
Go get him!  We are right behind you.  We will give you half of whatever coins you recover for us!

You get to pay for everything up front with no actual BTC help from anyone!

If, after you time and expenses, you get nothing - your loss.

Deal?

Right.

Deflect!  Deflect!

I realize the current time is quite confusing, and a time of great flux.

My hope is that in 6 months, the ASIC picture will have cleared up, we will be mining away on multiple ASIC rigs, and there will be some movement on the Bitcoinica liquidation.

690  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 9 top of the line rigs, whole or parted out (now with pricing) on: February 12, 2013, 01:35:37 AM
Got the tracking number. Feb 9 and still nothing, tracking info says its still stuck in Idaho...

What a bizarre deal.  I am calling the USPS on Monday.

Thank you. I also ordered a rosewill from newegg because I am in dire need of one.

So I contacted both the USPS as well as the Postal Annex from where the PSU's were shipped.  USPS claims that the tracking report showing still in Idaho means it has actually been delivered, but it just was not scanned.  The Postal Annex does not buy this explanation and is escalating their inquiry tomorrow.

I will keep you posted on what I find out.
691  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Bitcorp Mining Company - BTCMC 60+ GH/s, clear ASIC upgrade path. on: February 11, 2013, 11:50:57 PM
749 BTC is locked in the Bitcoinica liquidation.

That leaves 66.51 left. Also, who did you pre-order the ASICs with? Please don't say BFL.

If you preordered with BFL, combined with the Bitcoinica loss, we're out $26k.

They are indeed with BFL.  I have no reason to believe they are anything but delayed, and in fact am travelling to their location in the coming weeks for an in person inspection.

Conjecture all you like, but the likelihood of fraud seems very low to me.

Bitcoinica is in liquidation, and actually has a seemingly legitimate firm dealing with the assets.  I am cautiously optimistic that at some point we will recover a portion of the 749 BTC.

What did Bitcorps money do on bitcoinica if I may ask?
//DeaDTerra

Was there for conversion into USD to finance hardware acquisition.
aouch that seems very unlucky.
//DeaDTerra

Tell me about it.  I suppose it could end up being the opposite if it is ever paid out.  I was converting when the price was down around 4-5.  Obviously worth 500% that now.

Oh, not at all!  I would be very pleased.  But my skepticism is not driven by my selfish desires.  I just see some classic herd mentality going on.
697  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why this is not a bubble on: February 10, 2013, 07:15:52 PM
I earn well in excess of the payment....
Plus I have a price collar.  Not really short in the traditional sense.  My only losses are opportunity cost.
698  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why this is not a bubble on: February 10, 2013, 07:04:26 PM
The fact that everyone is post-rationalizing "why it's not a bubble" is precisely why it is indeed, a bubble.

Not saying it cannot continue, but too many peeps are all in on this one.

I know that if anyone on these forums desperately wants it to to be a bubble, it's you!

Nah, I am kind of agnostic really.  I earn enough from the crazy speculation that I am content.

I simply observe this type of behavior all the time due to my day job in the financial markets.

I recall you using the term "BRUTAL" a few short months ago, when the exchange rate was much lower.

Opportunity cost is a bitch, but netting several thousand a month does not suck either.  Smiley

...but hey, by all means buy as much as you can here......nothing can go wrong!
