701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Crypti | XCR | Ͼ | 3 PoS algorithms | Ed25519 | 2nd Gen Source on: November 05, 2014, 10:42:26 AM
Hi All,

This is what Poloniex support answered me regarding the not working XCR environment over there:

"
Unfortunately there is a problem on the XCP wallet, we have contacted the coin developer and he will provide a fix, util then I am afraid you wont be able to move your coins.
I apologize for the inconvenience.
"

When will this happen?

Kind regards.
M.

Did you ask them what XCP (CounterParty) has to do with XCR (Crypti) ?  Grin
702  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Etherum and Emunie scamcoins? on: November 04, 2014, 11:49:18 AM
At the risk of sounding arrogant (which it isn't meant to be), we haven't lost any first mover advantage at all for 3 main reasons:

1) We are SO far ahead of the curve in terms of innovation, quality and execution, nothing in the works at the moment comes close.  See our announcement today on Twitter and our forum. (ok maybe this is a little arrogant, sorry Smiley )

2) Sure some of our initial features have been "copied" and implemented into launched currencies already, this is fine, and inevitable when pushing for excellence.

3) And most important, our target market hasn't even been touched yet......that market is NOT BTT, Crypto fans, geeks, nerds, whatever you wish to call early adopters, its grandpa, blue collar guys, Joe on the street.

Nice!

I 'm looking forward to see the next client released
I hope it will not be heavy on processor like the last I tested the version 0.94... (something) several month ago.

When will the public beta tests start again?
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is here/Phase 2 Redemption begins[Updates&Discussion] on: November 02, 2014, 10:10:33 PM

Thank you for your good description!

you say: Every time you generate the data for the real account new values will be generated.

If i generate a new value, i can still use the old values, or apply only the new values?

You can use old values but save them somwhere
expecially the private key and address because if you forget lose the prpivate key you loose all the nem forever
and if you supply (register) wrong nem address in that site too.

so in "pictures"

1st generation
[private key1, public key1 , address1]

2nd genration
[private key2, public key2 , address2]

you can register the address1 but if you then loose private key 1
you can't use private key 2 to get NEM from address 1
because i think that addresses are derived (generated) out of private key

So be carefull save the data correctly take your time and check more than once that you have
saved stored in a secure place the data that was generated from the software.

704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is here/Phase 2 Redemption begins[Updates&Discussion] on: November 02, 2014, 07:49:43 PM

"Once phase 2 has begun we'll also reset the https://chain.nem.ninja/stakes/registered page to display only people who have registered their NEM-address in combination to their token. It will also show the NXT-Addresseses that have already sent back their NEMStake and the NEM-address that has been registered with that transaction. We urge everyone to check this list to make sure everything is in order! It is your responsibility to make sure everything is alright."

On the stake registration page i have to add the real nem address what i have created. I mean that
is that address and token a pair, or token only is the "key" for real nem?

Hello.

Here
https://chain.nem.ninja/stakes

you enter the token where is written token
and the real NEM address  where is written address.

The address that you enter is the real address that you generated in the NEM software.
The address that you generated is the real address for the real network that is not yet online.
The real address starts with letter "N" like NEM
The address displayed in your software on top left corner starts with "T" like Test is a test address

The current BETA the you all are running is a test software running on test network.
There is no real NEM in circulation yet.

You are using beta software to generate the private key , public key and address for the real network that
still need to be setup.

The data that you have generated is random that mean is not stored anywhere on your computer
and that means you are sole responsabile to take care (store that data).
If you loose this data or supply wrong address you won't receive real NEM.

Every time you generate the data for the real account new values will be generated.

I hope i made more clear to all of you in my pidgin english.

To NEM community in general or (OP): WE should put a FAQ somewhere about this because
in this thread on each page same questions are asked 3 times.
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is here/Phase 2 Redemption begins[Updates&Discussion] on: November 02, 2014, 07:34:06 PM
Create real account data will create every time a new adress-public key-private key ?

1.Than the old is working nevertheless?
2.can I get this data in this data showing again, or they will be displayed only one time?

Hello.

Read above has already being answered for the (n)th time.

Just a few hours in and NEM already has more stakeholders than NXT and Qora combined, and..... probably a far less percentage of sock puppets too.

how many stake holders did qora have?

Hello.

Check here: http://qora.co.in/?q=1
707  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: October 22, 2014, 02:57:47 PM
Does community still need more exchangers to trade QORA?
Would you like to see QORA at our exchange https://cryptonit.net ?

WTF 9% or 5 EUR fee to deposit with skrill
and 8% for withdrawal, unbelievable?!  Huh
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is almost here[Updates & Discussion] on: October 20, 2014, 03:13:39 PM
I'm sick of voting for things that don't really make any odds..

If there is conformation that some unclaimed will be used for an investment fund perhaps we should organize that instead of having pointless discussions?

Yes is time to stop this bullshit and focus on important stuff like this one.
So btw here is a thing to think about!

Will "YOU" as NEM millionare do with that 1Mega to further improve and expand the NEM ecosystem?!

YOU = I refer to every stake NEM stake holder!
709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Beta is almost here[Updates & Discussion] on: October 17, 2014, 03:43:05 PM

Fortunately after launch we won't have to trade NEMstake anymore, so we'll try to focus on NEM -> FIAT, FIAT -> NEM directly.
perhaps setting up our own version of local bitcoins might be a good idea..
Our own version of local bitcoins we shall have with AltNemo's roll out! And Fiat too!

Having own exchange wold be a big +, but also a page like local bitcoin for NEM.
I had an idea long time ago that I have put on that public trello board that was closed
but didn't get any feedback from the community at that time.
Actually what I proposed was to implement a hawala system for NEM and FIAT.
check here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawala
or here http://www.gdrc.org/icm/hawala.html

This system can be used to transmit NEM and FIAT and to convert NEM<->FIAT<->NEM
so it will be something between and exchange, local bitcoins and western union.

If any of you ever wonder what we are working towards, it's this: to make the lives of ordinary people better.

I just had my credit card number stolen and had to call the card company to get the current card cancelled and to get a new number. Now I don't have a credit card for a week or two and I will probably get fined by the phone company when they have trouble billing me  Cry

If NEM were the default currency of the world, the scammers would have only had my public key. Every time you use a credit card, it is the same as sharing your private key with someone. It's an insane system.

Let's hope NEM can help create a new world economy that isn't based on madness.

Even if does not seem so using credit card == living on debt!
I have never used one and i hope i will never have to!  Cool
Use the plain old cash or NEM to pay the bills and you will be safe! Wink

Hello

does anybody knows how can i correctly install Oracle java 8 manually on lubuntu (ubuntu)
to run NEM but keep the current openjdk 7 as default java version?

Thanks.
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: October 15, 2014, 11:49:05 PM

Dont think it has been implemented yet. Same thing in.Windows.

On the main tab where are your addresses listed, above of the first address it says Qora, click on that and a drop down menu will be appeared which is displaying all of your favorites assets.Select the asset you are holding ( it needs to be added to favorites first) and then the units will be displayed next to the address.

On the assets tab is listed all the assets you have issued.

OK super.
Thanks Smiley
713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: October 15, 2014, 11:35:23 PM
Hello.

Could somebody give some info or small help?

If I bought an asset shouldn't it be listed under assets tab?
I see that I'm a holder when I check the details for the asset under "all assets" and then when i click particular asset in the list.

Also when I add an asset to favorites how(where) do I see this favorites?
Is this kind of bug or some functionality under assets needs to be implemented yet.

I run the latest version 18 on a linux machine and I checked the latest block
is same as the qora blockexplorer.

Thanks.

Hey guys,

for all those who are not in the currently Beta, here is a small overview of the new client

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgMMa3lmWkg#t=25

Nice! It seems improved and with more features
from the last time I have tested it!

Is it still heavy on the processor or that was improved too?

Hello.

Is there list of stakeholder already available where we could check
if we were added to the list and how many people (accounts) requested to join?

Thanks.
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ORA:: Development discussion thread on: October 12, 2014, 10:56:09 PM
any interesting news regarding development? Do we know what we are gonna to clone?

I've been doing a great deal of research on potential new features.  We have had some internal discussions regarding a clone source.  I will be compiling these into the next version of the Ora project plan, which will be due out after I have the website completed.

If you have any ideas regarding a clone base or features, feel free to speak up about them.

kind regards,
nio

Hello.

Recently I have heard of a coin that has an interesting concept but i found the implementation
or lets say distribution to much centralized.
Maybe ORA could implement the same concepts but with a wider user base adoption.

You can find the links here and also my thought about it:

Progress report

This week I was working on refactoring the bootstrapping protocol and unifying node and client bootstrapping.

Since I lost about 2 weeks in September and also did some client refactoring, which wasn't planned, the core release is moved to somewhere in October. Hopefully Smiley

Nevermind! Thanks for the update!
Do what you have to do you know the best! Wink
719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM Official Thread - Crowdsale has begun[Updates & Discussion] on: September 28, 2014, 12:10:32 PM
is there any set date yet for the official distribution?

There is not yet and exact date but don't wary
check this thread once in a while because the dates will be published on the first
page when the time will come.
Otherwise you can also follow and join discussions on the
NEM forum at: https://forum.nemcoin.com/

Thanks for the feedback and I get what you are saying.  I have tried to figure out what some weaknesses are and how they might be beat so that a hacker might take advantage.  I definitely have my concerns about how some aspects are incorporated.

Hello.

I think if you have reasonable concerns or ideas how to improve or secure the NEM network
that you should engage in chat with core developers.
If you want please join the forum and open a discussion here

https://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?board=6.0
or here
https://forum.nemcoin.com/index.php?board=26.0

NEM needs more people like you and "pocesar".
