701  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can anyone recommend me a safe place to store my bitcoins? on: April 14, 2022, 11:51:05 PM
Can anyone recommend me a safe place to store my bitcoins?
I believe the number one safest way to store your Bitcoin, is you understand how to securely use a Bitcoin wallet because if you make use of a good cryptocurrency wallet and still don't have good knowledge of using crypto wallets safely.

The wallet will still get hacked because you'll expose the wallet to danger not knowing.

702  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I may have found an multi-chain opensource wallet on: April 14, 2022, 11:30:51 PM
It's better to use well known open source wallet than use a wallet in which no one knows the team's reputation.
But Trustwallet is not open source.
A key thing is that an open-source wallet must be popular enough to have variety of contributors as well as code auditors. Even you have necessary skills to audit the code yourself, it doesn't help much if there are no other people interested in this wallet. No matter how good you are at coding, you won't find all the bugs or backdoors that a particular wallet may have.
You're correct and this what I am trying to say.

Based on what I read on their site, they started with Monero before they added more crypto
I am just wondering if there are any mobile wallets for Monero that are better than this one.
There are a lot of Monero mobile wallets but the problem is knowing if the wallet has no backdoor log, bug, etc. Meanwhile, there are mobile lite wallets on the Monero website and I believe they are already verified.

I have seen many users of the forum talking about walletscrutiny but reliable is their service?
As far as I know, Walletscrutiny is pretty transparent about what they are doing and how they check wallets. Essentially, they take the published source code, build an application from this source and compare it to published binaries. They make a verdict based on the results of verification. That's all. It is in their interests to stay honest, otherwise, their service simply won't make any sense. However,  you don't need to trust them or rely on them when choosing your wallet, neither should you care about their reliability. You can just take the same code and try to build from it. Don't trust, verify.
That's cool then. I just want to be sure if their services are worth trusting.
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are bounties dead? on: April 13, 2022, 10:32:00 PM
Nix, the bounty scheme is still full of fake projects or coins as said above. The problem is some bounty managers don't check on the project they advertised a year later. and I believe what reduces the number of fake projects is IDO but there are still some fake projects doing the same previous ICO in another style.
IDO was making KYC verification as a mandatory for the any ICOs that wanna be listed or launched through IDO platforms. The problem was if it's not all of IDO platforms are implementing this.
I  presume it is not all IDO launchpad platforms that mandatory KYC verification for the project team before launching their IDO. There are some decentralized an IDO platforms didn't support KYC and it newbies who need to educate themselves about this.

IDO platform like pinksale or something else are still allowing the ICOs creator to launch the sale without even doing KYC verification but it seems like that there are more and more parties that were doing verification to the team but yeah we are in the bearish market.
Speaking of pinksale, they have done IDO for  9072 projects, for which a total of $362.1M was raised and I am sure that not all the investors that participated in their IDO understand they didn't support KYC.
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are bounties dead? on: April 12, 2022, 07:19:19 PM
The only reason why it attracts most low-quality accounts or multiple alt accounts is due to the project they are trying to promote.
What I see most of the bounties there are fake coins or tokens or ICOs with no value and most of them are scams.
That is why it's not worth the effort to promote. Unlike before most of the bounties that I see are real and surely it has a value after being listed on exchanges and the project is serious, unlike these days.

I see your point, but it also feels like the crowd has moved away - there were tons of hyped scam projects in 2018 - and yet there were a lot of support. It feels like crypto fans have changed the platform and here bounties are only crowded by  fake account

The problem is some bounty managers don't check on the project they advertised a year later. and I believe what reduces the number of fake projects is IDO but there are still some fake projects doing the same previous ICO in another style.

Note : If a fake account participates in a bounty campaign, the duty of the manager is to do his job.
705  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best Crypto Signals trading on: April 12, 2022, 06:21:35 PM
Trading signals work or not. If you entrusted your investment decision in cryptocurrency to a stranger, you have already made a loss before you even invest in the market.
This is crypto you should be the one responsible for every decision you make not someone you barely know that will use you to achieve his/her selfish purpose.
It is good to take good courses in cryptocurrency trading than join crypto trading signals.
706  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic crisis its good on: April 12, 2022, 05:45:51 PM
Economic crisis is a big problem that can create chaos and unrest, many countries change government due to economic crisis
Everybody knows the negative impact of the economic crisis on the world but it appears to be a surprise to me that the OP sees it as something good and from what you said it causes chaos and unrest that have led to emotional trauma for some people.

and in my opinion the government should do everything to prevent economic crisis, and usually the beginning of a crisis is rising inflation that makes people unable to meet basic needs.
We can't rely on the government to prevent economic crises when they are not ready to prevent them for they are not ready to stop printing more fiat currency.
707  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: I may have found an multi-chain opensource wallet on: April 11, 2022, 05:37:56 PM
if you just want to be knowledgeable about open source wallets, it's fine to give it a try, but I wouldn't entrust my digital assets to a mobile wallet that I haven't used and don't have many users. it's better to use a mobile wallet that has a definite development, it's definitely secure, such as Trustwallet, ImToken, Safepal, electrum etc.
It's better to use well known open source wallet than use a wallet in which no one knows the team's reputation.
But Trustwallet is not open source.

For the Cake Wallet you mentioned, it is more specific for the Monero Wallet (XMR).
Based on what I read on their site, they started with Monero before they added more crypto

Whereas cake wallet has not been proven to be reproducible from the source provided according to an analysis 12 months ago - https://walletscrutiny.com/android/com.cakewallet.cake_wallet/
I have seen many users of the forum talking about walletscrutiny but reliable is their service?

I remember they had big issues few months ago with their Bitcoin wallet, when they demanded mandatory change of seed words and addresses.
There's no point for anyone to use the wallet that experiences this situation.
708  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to understand or know the whale's next move? on: April 11, 2022, 04:39:24 PM
Is there any app that notifies about whales or institution accumulation before the news link out?
Whales alert on Twitter.
It's just a profile account that posts those huge accumulations, transfers and acquisitions from the network. I don't know how they do that but if you want to know the latest transfers and as well as dormant accounts that has been alive lately. They have it on that account so follow them or just check it from time to time.
I know about Whales alert on Twitter and Telegram but I believe the news has already linked out before Whales alert share it and there must be an app or software used by the whales alert team to get this information.
It will be helpful to get this information since 95% of all crypto investors are into profit.
709  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 2FA on crypto wallet exists? on: April 09, 2022, 01:06:32 PM
Zelcore allows using 2FA on its wallet, it's just that this wallet is complicated to use for a newbie but pretty secured, I use this wallet to store my Flux coins.
If a wallet is not open source and also complicated like the wallet you mention then it is a big no for me especially when the site uses Cloudflare.

I'm just curious if there is any crypto wallet that has 2FA security? I've never seen one.
Almost all custodial web wallets where you have to create an account have the 2FA feature. But technically, 2FA here is used to protect your account not your wallet.
If the 2FA protected the account automatically it also protects the custodial wallet.

711  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proposals for global shutdown of crypto on: April 07, 2022, 08:34:21 PM
The goal would be to end the ecoonomic destruction of bitcoin / crypto while causing the least losses possible to public.

Ideas on how to shut this endless crashing garbage down safely?
The only garbage i know after I am aware of Bitcoin's potential is your so called fiat currency which was backed by the naive government that makes the same mistake that makes fiat currency lose value over and over again.
I believe you think Bitcoin is a teenage play if not you should know by now that the US or the SEC would have shut it down if they can.

I hade some hope for bitcoin. Turns out its a whole lot of lies and has proven more destructive than the banks for repeated collapses every single year
If you claimed that you have hope in Bitcoin and you believe it turns out to be a lie or a form of a destructive weapon than the Banks whereas it makes a lot of people who live on the street a millionaire and also proven to be the safe haven during economic breakdown etc. Then you're totally naive about the concept of Bitcoin.
712  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Scams now the second largest in the world on: April 07, 2022, 07:33:34 PM
I mean yeah this ain't really too surprising to me. Since I took interest in bitcoin and signed up on some websites and stuff - or maybe its just due to my search data being used/sold in a particular way, I found myself getting more and more spam emails that were related to crypto in some way or the other.
Crypto scams happened because of people's improper understanding and lack of security knowledge. The reason why you're getting the crypto related spam emails is that you used the email to register on an unworth site and this is what will always happen if you don't research about a particular site before using it.

But I'm afraid that NFTs have actually made this worse than it ever needed to be, and ofcourse the ICO for shitcoins - which people blindly invest in without looking into their history and then the project just up and vanishes. Its pretty much our duty to educate others/who are new to crypto about these to make them less gullible to these scams.
NFT or ICO didn't make anything worse, investor lack of knowledge is the major problem we have in crypto and if people don't educate themselves about crypto investment and security they will always be prey to the crypto scammer.

713  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is safe heaven not against volatility but as store value on: April 07, 2022, 06:52:30 PM
Have backups on multiple physical locations so if your 1st backup gets wrecked by a bomb, you have a second backup at a second location. Use a steel sheet instead as paper can obviously easily burn.

Cloud based backups sounds great in theory but you're putting your funds at risk because there's a chance for hackers getting access to your cloud storage — hence having access to your backups — hence having access to your funds.
I think the OP don't understand that when chaos happened a lot of think are always at risk and with what you said cloud based backup appears to be a good way of saving something for a long time though hacker attack is the major problem but if it happens that I wrote my wallet seeds in encrypted texts developed and understand only by myself out of the blue.
What chance do I have in terms of security?
714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm new here, Is it a scam or what? They ask me to invest $100 and after 24 hou on: April 06, 2022, 07:19:08 PM
You don't need to ask further questions if this is a scam or not. Just ask yourself
1) If someone can turn your $100 into $2000 within 24hours, why did he/she even need your $100 in the first place?
2) Is making money that easy, then why is all internet user not a millionaire?
Just like the crypto community will say. Everything that seems too good to be true is totally a scam.
715  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good time to buy? on: April 06, 2022, 06:48:06 PM
Microstrategy has just bought 4167 BTC worth $190.5 million, which is probably a good signal to buy the cryptocurrency. These guys are certainly not buying at a loss. After their past purchases bitcoin started to grow, but after some time. Most likely this time the story will repeat itself. Maybe at the end of April or beginning of May.
Assuming Microstrategy didn't buy the said Bitcoin, the whole cryptocurrency market has shown that theres a possibility of no blood bath market anymore and I see it as a perfect signal to buy cryptocurrency.
Nevertheless, Microstrategy is buying more Bitcoin but they are doing it for their customer who are probably institutions or celebrities.
Specially with the recent news about Microstrategy buy.
https://www.coindesk.com/business/2022/04/05/microstrategy-buys-1905m-worth-of-bitcoin/

They are owning or holding about 129k bitcoin as of this moment. Good time to buy? If they are considering on buying out then
we already have some hint on what things should be done.
Yeah. I hear the news about Microstrategy and Terra (Luna) also does the same thing. From the news are I read some days ago, Terra (Luna) said they are going to be the highest Bitcoin accumulator and all this is enough to show that Bitcoin is going to the season of only those that buy now and hold for the long term will get the most profit.

718  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What have been your crypto trading experience on: April 05, 2022, 10:26:07 PM
Trading crypto is never a do or die affair, in crypto worst happens, this is because the market is not fully determined by one person or commodity unlike other businesses.
I wish we could see more people that understand crypto trading not to be a must do for every crypto enthusiast cause stats of trader that make lost is huge.

I remember I bought my Ethereum at an affordable rate and due to my ignorance and impatience I sold it a low price even though to me,the price was great since I made my profit.
It looks like you don't know the difference between crypto investment and trading because what you said here indicates what you're into as investment not trading.

719  Other / Politics & Society / Re: An end in sight to Yemen brutal civil war on: April 05, 2022, 07:06:40 PM
Yemens civil war that has gone on for more or less 8 years may have an ending in the nearest future with the ceasefire that has just been agreed upon. Peace talks has been ongoing in Saudi Arabia and a ceasefire has been agreed for 2 months. The war torn country has been fighting a civil war since 2014 with hundreds of thousands of lives and billions in infrastructure lost to the fighting. Political instability coupled with humanitarian, food and medical crisis has been rocking the country for years. There's an old proverb that says "when the elephant fights, the grass suffers". The people of Yemen has for long suffered the brunt of the war. Hopefully the ceasefire in place would lead to more constructive talks and a final solution to the crisis would be put in place. With the senseless fighting stopped, the world would watch Yemen grow.

I believe the world will be a better place if the political leader can set aside their difference and come to a good conclusion because the war we're seeing today is all caused by political problems/misconceptions. All the political leaders no, in Yemen alone need to understand that things are hard to build and easy to destroy.

they can not we have effectively still this old marxism, vs. capitalism war globally however there are now religious and oligarchic layers that change the context of everything how it looks,

for example russia looks capitalist with the Putin oligarchy, and the west looks marxists through its social justice warriors.

iran is basically marxism (oligarchy) saudi arabia is capitalism
I don't know that Russians are ruled in the Marxist way but I am sure about the Chinese government and this could be the reason behind the strong bond/relationship between Putin and the Chinese government.
Capitalism, individualism, or Marxism. if the government set aside their political beliefs and there's no reason for any war.
I think we need a political revolution.
720  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to understand or know the whale's next move? on: April 04, 2022, 07:15:41 PM
If you see following the whale's social media is the best way to understand their next moves then you're wrong because most of these people usually use their influencer power to make their followers buy the market which they only plan to pump the price so they could sell for profit.
I think using the whales alert and reputable crypto news site is the best way to know the whale's next move
Yeah that is right, but no one gets to know the whale’s next move, we just anticipate until we see that they have made a move. The best thing is just as you have said, we should follow crypto alerts and reputable websites that would deliver information to us immediately the whales invest in the market, that way we can get to invest immediately and then wait for any uptrend that might follow after that.

Sometimes I do feel this is necessary, because there are times that I have seen whales invest in the market or make a transaction, but there isn’t any significant effect that it would have on the market, and things would just continue like nothing ever happened.
Yes, whales accumulation does not always show a significant effect on the market price but if the market is in the season when there's a lot of Fomo it will show an effect on the market just like we see in the market lately.

Is there any app that notifies about whales or institution accumulation before the news link out?
