703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Philosopherstone - PHS | No Premine | Mandatory update 1.2Beta3 on: September 12, 2013, 05:35:45 AM
Client has been stable for some time now. Grin  I have noticed there is actually still a few old clients out in the wild.   Roll Eyes

Will put out a new update slightly before the reward halving coming up.

Also have some other improvements here and there to implement at that time.

704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] official NovaCoin thread - the original PoS+scrypt coin. --POOL LIST-- on: September 02, 2013, 12:05:22 AM
Experimental native build for 64-bit Windows is available.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/novacoin/files/experimental/novacoin-0.4.4.4-win32-amd64.zip/download

Make backup of your data folder before trying this build. Reports are welcome.
Tested for a few hours... It seems that this build is stable enough.

Installer for current release:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/novacoin/files/novacoin-setup-win32-amd64-0.4.4.4.exe/download

Any advantages to 64bit client?
705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ASIC Testing on Scrypt? on: September 01, 2013, 11:59:24 PM
Surely it is only a matter of time before someone invents a scrypt fpga or asic.. Could this be the first?

FPGA, yes, but that won't push GPU mining out. ASIC, maybe in 25 years or so.

Buying more hardware to mine or mining in general will slowly become a zero sum game now even for scrypt.  Buy a ton of PoS coins and just log on your client once a week to mine your stake.

No heat, no botnets,no fpga, no asic, no worries

This is just stupid. You have no guarantee your PoS altcoin will be worth anything. While that's also true for mining any cryptocoin, BTC & LTC are far less likely to become worthless tomorrow. Additionally, if everyone used your retarded logic, there would be no miners, quickly followed by no coins.

Mining is a waste of resources , with the exception of maybe primecoin. It's also dead for most, much better vehicles for massive ROI available if you look.

The logic is sound, for example, Most blocks from PPC are now from stake generation not miners.. yet there is still a coin.. when there is no miners, there will still be the coin, hence the only retarded logic is to not consider other options going forward.

Repost. Updated

AMD Bulldozer optimized client Win64bit and maybe some intels
---===---===---===---
built from StoneFoz version1 Which doubled speed and beyond

v2 was having many issues (+reject, +orphan for me) , bin below is version 1

8150 Stock 8 cores = .8~1.1 mhash
8350 Stock 8 cores = 1~?? mhash
4300 Stock 4 cores = .46+ mhash=+

Bulldozer 1 (more compatable) and Bulldozer gen 2 (more specialized)
https://sourceforge.net/projects/philosopherstone/files/QRK/

Tips appreciated: QRK: QQVzchEu7aqAfc71NZa1TYi3toih6abCtk

Re-posting because this is not AMD bulldozer only, and may in fact work on the newer intels as well.

this is not the uber optimized client, will post when over 2mhash per chip

Hi Palmdetroit Smiley

Are there any plans in the works, regarding the block explorer ?

100 DMD Block explorer bounty sent.

Hi, I can send these back to you or can send them to whoever gets the bounty.

I think someone active from this community should take over 'promotions' for bounties and giveaways, etc. It would help out more than anything else at this time.

Sounds good.

How much do you think will be reasonable for a DMD giveaway ? 0.1 ?

Sent!

Yes that would be a great start.

Wow seems like all the all nodes are finally upgrading.  If I would of known having PHS go live on Cryptsy was the solution I would of pushed to have it listed sooner  Roll Eyes

This message should disappear after syncronization will be completed. If syncronization fails then this message will be visible until this will be resolved.

Try increasing banscore option value.

Oh in this case, (you havent gotten enitre chain), yes this message would appear.. still testing here

Wallet is empty after running beta 1 or beta 3 update.  I used different computers to do the update with just a Wallet.dat file in the philosopherstone folder.

If I look at the transaction details, it shows  all the history of the coins being mined.  Any thing I can do to get the coins back?

Thanks,

Most likely because you need to use a clean directory without the old clients *bad* interfering files.

default windows:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Philosopherstone

Make sure to backup wallet.dat and .conf delete other files and restart new client.

Others in this thread (last few pages) had same problem until they used clean directory, see for reference.

Hey Charles, I noticed most of the transactions are from back when all rewards where doubled, correct?  I am not aware of any fork at that time as long as you were updating your client under the old developer, he was maintaining updates back then. Anyway as long as there wasn't a large fork and you weren't mining solo on your own dead end those should be on the main chain. Also are* some of those from Minar pool, there was a brief period of a dead chain but those dates seem to be before that?

I will look into history of coin first week of release.

edit.. you just ran the new client for the first time today?
717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Philosopherstone - PHS | No Premine | Mandatory update 1.2Beta1 on: August 26, 2013, 06:56:27 PM
Code:
ERROR: CSyncCheckpoint::CheckSignature() : SetPubKey failed
Wrong build?
Correct ... wrong build ... fixed it ... Thx for the hint  Cool ... had three different git clones in my home dir.

    one4many

I will most likely need to make a new thread for PHS with the correct current build, to avoid these problems.

Please tell me this, if I whitdraw all my DMDs from Cryptsy to wallet, how long does it take to see first dividends?

Np and thanks!

I think depending on amount of coins 7-14 days but could be longer.
