We have had bull markets in the past that has caused bitcoin to go up further than it has in the past several months. All of your other concerns have always been a problem with trading on this forum.

The value of bitcoin is higher now - doubly so - than it was back then so people are probably even more reluctant to spend their bitcoins.

I think the administration should care about how much trading goes on around the forum. I believe it is an indicator of the forum's influence, and an indicator of how many 'real' people are using bitcoin because of the forum.

It's a discussion forum primarily not a marketplace, but either way there's nothing the forum can do about it or promote it. What would you suggest? Offer to cover escrow fees or offer free shipping or something? There's nothing you can do if people don't want to trade here and the forum shouldn't get involved in that just like it doesn't get involved with many other things like scams and such. It's a niche market and always will be for numerous reasons.

Another reason is that forum trust has been diluted to a great extent. Previously, hero members could get no collateral loans easily, but now, even the highest ranking accounts will struggle to get any sizable loan without collateral. Perhaps lenders have matured and tightened their lending standards, but I think the abundance of high-ranking but not necessarily reputable users is to blame as well.

There should be another rank as many people got to Hero before the merit change. The new rank should require a large amount of merit to distinguish it from others and so it's hard to achieve, or maybe just make Legendary require it and fix the activity to 780.

manunited outclassed southampton 9-0 in the end Shocked Shocked
there were 2 red cards for fc southampton (2 min. Jankewitz and 86 min. Bednarek)
I haven't watched game, but I read that there was contraversial offside:
https://mobile.twitter.com/jackkenmare_/status/1356717649179398147?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1356717649179398147%7Ctwgr%5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fd-32936079703902968562.ampproject.net%2F2101211748002%2Fframe.html
They must be kidding... VAR is f*cking joke in EPL.
I'm not against VAR, but such offsides is just ridiculous.

Didn't watch any of the games but just watched the highlights. They didn't show the offside in the Man U game for some reason but if the VAR had that angle/image and still gave it it's a joke but it's not like we didn't know that already. Thought the second red was harsh as well. Didn't look intentional.

The David Luiz sending off in the Arsenal game seemed harsh also. Clearly accidental. VAR checked it apparently according to SofaScore but gave it anyway. I thought VAR was meant to be for these exact situations.

Everton should win today at Leeds

I'm not so sure after losing 2-0 at home to Newcastle last week. Leeds played well as well. Either a home win or maybe a draw for me but I wouldn't back Everton especially away.

Can my boys LFC make it 3 PL wins in a row? I’d like to hope so, although we have struggled against some of the lesser teams in recent times. Brighton are coming off the back of a great win against Brighton too. We should win but you never know.

I don't think they'll have any trouble with Brighton despite them beating Spurs last week.

Yeah, I don't think Conor will never be truly "done", however his flamboyant attitude does seem to have been watered down a little since his previous fights, and to be honest I quite like  that side of him. However, the reason Conor brings in so many PPVs, and fans from all walks of life is maingly due to his attitude to other fighters, but not only that he's been known to deliver on the night also. Casual fans, and dedicated ones will often quote his "who the fook is this guy" line. When you think of Conor you think of trash talking, for example his fight between him, and mayweather the press conference before that was comedy gold. Now, Conor only really showed respect to Poirier, but are we going to see Conor continue along that path, or will he revert to his usual tactics, and put on a show? He's a fantastic fighter, and I love his style. I'm actually a big fan of him, but I have questions of whether he wants to be there fighting, and I know that he's stated that he's looking to fight multiple times in the UFC this year, but I'm not sure if there's any weight behind that.

I do think he needs to fight a tough opponent next though, just because I'd like him to prove the doubters wrong, and partially prove me wrong too. I want to see Conor at his best, because I don't think anyone can argue otherwise, he's very exciting to watch, but also does a lot of good for mixed martial arts.

In that weight class, there's several tough fighters, and the reason why I think its important for him to go for a tough fight, is you'll quickly get left behind in the division otherwise, because its absolutely rammed full of talent.

That's not to say Conor will disappear, but as a fan of Conor I want to see him wanting to prove everyone wrong, and becoming the best fighter he can be, because that's when us fans will be in for a treat.

All fighters are done at some point but I think Connor has a lot left in him, but with every fight he loses his stock goes down and probably along with his hunger for the game and when your heart's not in it any more you rarely win fights. If he just gets battered in all his next matches it'll be pretty embarrassing and he'll have to walk away at some point. His sponsorship deals rely on him to keep fighting though as nobody is going to keep offering him big bucks if he's not active or in the public eye so he needs to get back on track really for multiple reasons. His other business interests rely on it as well. Nobody is buying Proper 12 whisky because they think it's better than all the rest; they're buying it because it's Connor's and the stock in that brand will decrease drastically if he walks away. Connor was one of those fighters that got casuals attention because he's entertaining in and out of the cage and had lots of witty and quotable lines. Up until his loss against Diaz he also looked unbeatable. Trash talking every fight is just going to get tiring and it has its place. He's probably not going to do it to fighters he respects but I'm sure we haven't seen the last of it especially if he fights someone he doesn't like like Khabib again. I suspect he'll probably reign the trash talking in a bit though as you have to grow up at some point.

Don't forget the new round starts today. Nearly half of people haven't done their scores yet.

Oh, I still think we should put an asterisk on Tokeweed's score with a note at the bottom since it was practically a double round and takes away from moles impressive round:
Don't really agree with this. While I agree that it is not fair that Toke made a result with bigger pool of games if you take away some points from him, then you should also add some points to the yellow cap winners in weeks were we did not have full 10 games. That is only fair solution but it will be very hard to calculate.

You should check which game got removed from which week and than check the prediction of the yellow cap winner for that week and add his points after game gets played in double week. Basically eliminate double and "short" weeks by calculation yellow caps as if there was no delays. And if you do that the person who got the yellow cap in some previous weeks could actually not be the yellow cap winner anymore.

As I said too much work, and I would just go by Superbru results and award Tokeweed if nobody manages to beat him. Nobody tied our hands in double week, we should have done better. Either way no money in my pocket since I believe I did not get a single yellow cap in 3 years I am playing this predictor Smiley

A round consists of ten games. Or should do. Any more shouldn't be included. At best they should probably put the rescheduled games in a separate round. Nobody is taking points away from toke nor am I going to mess about adding them on to the previous rounds as that is just ludicrously silly and obviously isn't feasible, but it should be noted that toke's winning round was literally a round and half hence the abnormally high score.

~snip

agree on this one, it is supported by Superbru, and we should follow their rules regarding weeks for yellow cap
if we do not follow this, then whole competition is not as per Superbru rules

nevertheless, it is a good performance to have 19 in regular round, but we all could done better in a round with 15 matches, and it is not impossible to have 25, actually in Calcio pool there was 25 in a regular round
with all said, it is a bit sad to have just one round to shine for the whole season, but it is a Superbru pool rules

Who said we're playing by Superbru's rules? They're just a site we use to keep a tally. They don't issue payments or free bets. Sportsbet has been issuing free bets to all the yellow cappers even when tied even though superbru orders them via their own system. I just won't award anything for the highest scorer if it's going to cause issues and since that was the plan anyway.

Once again another reason for signature vacation time.

Every week  flip a coin and either shut signatures off or turn them back on.

Makes bots and ai have less reason to post if there are no signature revenues.

Unfortunately our forum is existing for the wrong reasons.

Signature revenue is a shitty reason to exist.
Spam is worse.
Scammers are the worst.
Trolling fit in there somewhere but not as bad as a scammer.

At loyce how about scraping a signature campaign thread and estimate what it pays each week.

I often complain about signatures and have asked for signature vacation time.
So here is another reason to try it out.

With any measures you employ to stop spam you need to make sure it's not effecting real or genuine users or effects them as little as possible. If you turned signatures on and off again then all this will lead to is the bots having a vacation during that time whilst genuine users are penalised during it. Many people use their signature for different things other than signature campaigns like you do, but I don't think genuine users should be penalised because of potential bad actors. These restrictions won't even be a inconvenience to bots and they'll just reconfigure to work with it and then fire back up when they can monetise it. I think this now more than ever needs to lead to urging campaign managers to do their job properly. If campaign managers thoroughly vetted their participants and only accepted quality posters then there wouldn't be a problem with spam or shitposting and bots probably wouldn't even get on the campaigns in the first place. I've long said signature campaigns could help to actually improve the forum but only if they're run by managers that do their job properly.

^  Is there a prize on who gets the highest points per round?  I don’t mind the asterisk tbh.  I just want to win the pool straight up and win first prize manies.  Grin  But I’ll still be happy just getting into the money spots tho.

Not this season other than the free $50 bet from sportsbet. I figured with the weekly free bets this year it's not really needed. I think if there's any money left in the pot after fees and everyone's paid out we could give it to the overall highest scorer but I'm not sure how we'd award it. I think we'd probably have to disqualify any rounds that have more than 10 games. Or if anyone can think of how we could award it for some other achievement. Ideally I'd like it to be something that everyone has a chance to win regardless of where they are in the leader-board so there's still something to play for.

Oh, I still think we should put an asterisk on Tokeweed's score with a note at the bottom since it was practically a double round and takes away from moles impressive round:

Added number of matches on the round as well as an asterix to emphasize that Tokeweed has higher points due to higher number of matches. Also bolded mole's name as well as his point so that people might notice it immediately.

Thanks. The update is helpful and gives a better perspective. Toke's score doesn't seem that impressive now haha.
707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: February 01, 2021, 10:55:33 AM
Questions remain over whether Conor will keep his word, and continue to fight inside the UFC, and whether or not he still has what it takes. Honestly, Conor looked somewhat decent up until the point he was cuddling with the floor. I thought he was outstriking, and dealt pretty well with the takedown of Poirier.

He needs one big fight from a tough fighter to get back in the limelight I believe a trilogy between him and Poirier can get him back if he wins in their third match, the loss is very surprising, Connor is a known striker but was beaten on his game, I'm sure he'll keep his promise that he'll concentrate on rebuilding himself, one more loss and he is busted.

Fighting 'tough' fighters isn't the best game plan for him right now, but I don't think there's anyone in his division that he can't beat on a good day except for maybe Khabib. Connor won't be 'busted' after another loss but it's doing damage to his brand for sure and needs a win to bring back faith in him. IF he loses his next fight I'm sure his PPV numbers will start to dwindle, but the last fight was the second highest PPV buys in history second only to his fight against Khabib. Even if he loses his next fight hype can always be built for rematches with several people like Diaz, Aldo, Poirier etc. I think Poirier trilogy will be his best next bet and the easiest fight to get done. Neither of them deserve a title shot right now and both seem willing to fight again and Poirier knows this fight will be his biggest payday. McGregor still gets the PPV draws so he's far from done. If he does take the Poirier rematch and loses that isn't going to be a good look though. He really needs to win that one. If McGregor does get back in form maybe someday down the line he can meet Khabib again which would almost certainly break UFC records. One or both of the fighters could bow out after that one.

What does everyone think about Jake Paul fighting Ben Askren? It's a boxing match and obviously Askren specialises in wrestling, but I still think this is a risky fight for Logan and could get his ass handed to him. If he doesn't it'll be pretty embarrassing for Askren.

We already have a little discussion. Everyone are welcomed.

McGregor - Poirier trilogy, McGregor - Diaz trilogy, McGregor - Khabib 2 - What next, McGregor vs <fighter> last blood ? McGregor vs <fighter> Revenge? McGregor vs <fighter> reunion? Division is full of talented fighters, why to schedule Conor to fight against them?
Hope Dana White wont follow the lead of money and fans only and makes a fight between someone from the top versus fresh blood.

Doubt the Khabib fight will happen until Connor has proved he's worthy of a rematch with him as he's said things along the same lines. I don't think that fight would be a good fight for Connor right now either even though it's the biggest fight from a money point of view.

Really surprised with the Leeds and Newcastle away wins win and Spurs losing to Brighton. Didn't get any points from those ones. Don't forget that the next round starts tomorrow. It looks like another one of those nightmare rounds for me with a lot of potential draws or match-ups that I can't split.

So there it is , Stephencurry333 ended the curse of one unique winner for each round  Smiley. Btw I forgot to put in my score prediction for the last 4 matches but superbru assigned mine to the popular score pick and I got 2 points each from Chelsea and Liverpool. Interesting stuff, I never know superbru has such feature

It was a shame we couldn't keep it unique but I guess it was inevitable. I'm sure we'll see a few people winning second time rounds before the end of the season. I'm sure all of us previous winners would like to win as many as we can  Grin. Will help soften the blow if we don't finish within the paid places. Winning a few free bets could end up being better than the 5-10 spots really.

In this upcoming round if potential draws happen you probably will go up some places as I have seen you predict many draws in general. However I don’t see many draws for this round as I see Manchester United,Manchester City,Arsenal,Liverpool and maybe Leicester winning their games. What is for sure a lot of winning potential this round for bettors of the Premier League.

I agree with most of your choices, but not sure about Arsenal away to Wolves. Not sure about Leicester away to Fulham either, especially after losing to Leeds at home. Fulham have drawn five out of their last seven games and the only two teams they lost to out of those ones were Chelsea and Man United and it was only by one goal in both. If Leicester had Vardy I might back them but not with him still being out and after their last performance with Leeds.

Oh, I still think we should put an asterisk on Tokeweed's score with a note at the bottom since it was practically a double round and takes away from moles impressive round:

Most people probably don't want to spend their bitcoins on stuff especially in a bull market, hence few listings. Most people are probably too wary of scams to do much trading here also, especially since it's pretty much a free for all and scams aren't moderated. Selling physical stuff here requires you to give out personal information as well which many people won't want to do.

I have also noticed that advertising revenue is down about 70% (in USD terms) since January 2019 (prices were similar to January 2019 in January 2020).

Well the price has gone up significantly since the start of 2019 so it's inevitable that people won't spend more in bitcoin. I doubt theymos cares too much but I still think he should consider adding more more donator ranks. They'd run themselves like Copper Memberships do so it's not like it will take any input from him once live and would probably generate more income than adverts do.

Should changes be made to the merit system? Should changes be made to the trust system? Is either system being implemented in ways that are less than ideal?

Why would merit be a factor? And what could or should be changed about trust? I don't think it matters whether people are trading here or not, especially from an admin point of view.

Anyone posting in here who hasn't paid will have their posts removed.
Sorry for the offtopic, but I think the question is by the way.

I understand that this series began a long time ago, is there any point in joining at this stage? (how realistic is it to catch up with the leader of the table) ... And a parallel question, when will the new series start?

None whatsoever.  You’ll just be burning your money.
Thanks for the answer, I basically thought so.

Missing a few rounds doesn't matter too much and a few people have joined late before including this year but you won't be in with a chance of winning anything other than the weekly round £50 free bet unless you're somehow a pro gambler or match fixer and can get half the scores right every week. You're still free to join if you wish but at BTC0.0045 the fee is now over £100 to join. If you win two weekly rounds you will break even on the fee but there's very little chance of winning anything else. I run the pools every year and will start the next sign-up process as soon as this season is over so look out for that. The league apparently is scheduled to end on the 23rd of May but I don't know when the next season is scheduled to start. The Euros are meant to be played this year from 11 June – 11 July so I don't know whether that will effect the next league start or if it will even happen right now with covid.

Finally paid off going for the draws as there were three yesterday. Got two of them and even the correct scores. Really surprised Man United lost to shitty Sheffield and at old Trafford as well. Man United are playing Arsenal away on Saturday and I don't expect them to win that. Maybe they'll go on a downward spiral now. Thought Chelsea would have beaten Wolves but only narrowly hence the 1-0 score. Maybe they're unsettled changing managers.

Spurs/Liverpool game tonight should be worth a watch. Think I'll go for a draw on that. Don't trust either team to get the job done.

Well, well, well, Man Utd lost to Sheffield United at Old Trafford. I’m not gonna lie but it’s put a smile on my face tonight.

Big game tomorrow, can I expect a win for LFC, finally? Tough one away at Spurs but we’ve got Hendo & Matip fit now so aside from VVD & Gomez it’s the strongest we’ve been for a good while.
i betted against liverpool so i expect them to lose. So i can get at least some points in this round

I don't think they'll win, but a draw is looking most likely here. If I had to pick a winner though I'd probably go with Spurs.
713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 27, 2021, 10:48:32 AM
Imo, I feel sad no to see old Conor, when he destroys opponents mentally before fight with trashtalk and etc. What we see now - "respect, good fight, congrats". Seems that this is not his style and he had lost his "magic". His left hand definitely had lost "magic"... Conor was so pumped for this fight, but had lost. Would be as much motivated to fight Gaethje? Poirier showed how to win Conor (low kicks, kill front leg and punches). Gaethje lands more heavy low kicks. I would bet that he will use same strategy as Poirier and finish Conor in first round. After that Conor would announce retirement (for the third time), even though (if I remember correct info), he still has 4 fight under the contract.

He has always been humble in defeat even in his losses to Diaz and Khabib. That's one thing I do like about him and it's better than the excuses fighters often pile on, though Connor does come out with them as well like the classic 'my leg was a balloon', and he compared his leg to an American football after this fight. The limp seemed a bit exaggerated to me but maybe I'm being too sceptical.

Conor's best bet would be a trilogy fight with Poirier and that looks like the one he's going for as his coach recently told Ariel Helwani: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FU-L1gd0jo

Poirier will probably be very happy with that as well as it's likely the biggest payday he'll get right now win or lose. As I said before, I thought Connor dominated the first round, but he just got shook very quickly, but I think Conor can beat Poirier fairly easy like he did in the first fight. Then move on to someone better assuming he beats Poirier. Diaz trilogy would likely be the next biggest fight assuming Khabib doesn't want to come back for him but I think Connor should get some wins under his belt before they even attempt to try tempt Khabib back. That would kinda be a good last fight for them both to bow out on regardless of the result but I don't really see anyone beating Khabib and I think that's partly why he doesn't want to fight as he doesn't see anyone worthy.

What does everyone think about Jake Paul fighting Ben Askren? It's a boxing match and obviously Askren specialises in wrestling, but I still think this is a risky fight for Logan and could get his ass handed to him. If he doesn't it'll be pretty embarrassing for Askren.

Lampard is out and has been replaced by Thomas Tuchel. Lampard shouldn't have got the job in the first place and should have earned his place there with other teams before going for the Chelsea job. It just ruins their chances when ex players get given a job like that too soon. It always annoys me when ex players take over giants like Barca and Bayern/PSG etc and then get heralded as world class managers. You'd have to be an idiot to not win something with them teams. Steve Bruce will probably be the next manager to go in the PL I reckon as Newcastle are sliding down the table very quickly. Most of the teams below them have a game or two in hand as well so they could easily see themselves in the relegation zone very soon.

I think no one pay attention to man city and you can see they are now in the first place followed by manchester united...city wasnt good in the begenning but the team look really strong in the last matches and i think they will fight to the end for the title

City players dominate the list on the right today.

Will it be a goes to plan day? or out of the ordinary?

Ill have a punt on the usual suspects, whatever that means these days.

I think a lot of these games are too close to call. I wouldn't have backed Villa and Leicester away. Leicester are without Vardy and looks like he'll be out for a while after surgery. Man United should win and so should Chelsea but I don't expect by much. Brigton might be close but they'd be my favourite against Fulham.

For today's game, Chelsea - Wolves and Everton - Leicester are the hardest to predict. I think Leicester and Wolves have a better chance especially that Chelsea is having bad times with a new coach in the field...
The other games, I expect Aston Villa (2-1), Brighton (1-0) and ManU (+2 goals difference) to win .

I'm not sure if Villa can beat Burnley away. Burnley beat Liverpool last week. That game looks like a stalemate to me as does Everton/Leicester without Vardy playing.
715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: January 27, 2021, 10:20:22 AM

Well many of the games were close and two matches were only won by one goal so draws were not far off. Didn't expect Arsenal to win to be honest and as expected Man City won comfortably and was the only team I backed to win but went for a 3-0.

Thank god i hit that leeds match correct result, man city probobly all users got 1 point and some 1.5

I went with 1-1 and it was looking a bit dicey towards the end there for Leeds as Newcastle looked like they might equalise.

Anyone else not liking the look of these line ups this round? Most of them are very hard to split for me and many look like potential draws. Newcastle/Leeds, Palace/West Ham, Southampton/Arsenal, Burnley/Villa, Brighton/Fulham, Everton/Leicester, Spurs/Liverpool. There's lot of games where the slightly stronger team is playing away and I'd probably back them if they were at home but not away. I really can't pick a winner out of any of those games. Everton might be in with a chance as I don't think Vardy is playing. Liverpool looked decent against Man U even though they lost, but Spurs aren't doing to bad recently and Liverpool are still likely shaky. Leeds and Newcastle are both playing shit. Might have backed a narrow Leeds win if they were playing at home but not away. West Ham are on a three win run but don't trust them to beat Palace away. Draws are looking the best best but we'll likely only get a couple. Nightmare round for me.

I missed out good rounds where there were draws (and bookie odds should have clued me in on those) so yeah, this one does look like it could throw up a few stalemates, even Liverpool is probably the smart one to pick for a draw.

All the teams that won yesterday were all the away ones. Wouldn't have backed them for sure.

I wasn't aware that they were removed from there, but sigs should probably be removed from being displayed in all off topic boards, especially the local language ones. In the past the off topic boards have been used for spamming/farming, especially in the locals when there's often no mods or laxer moderation and it's often easier to get away with if you don't speak the language as it's easy to miss by both other users and mods. One of the local boards was just being used to copy and paste parts of nursery rhymes to try farm/rank up accounts en mass and even worse was that nobody in the local community reported it so it went on for quite some time.

Lol..  Yup I just got a DM from Steve at Superbru.  And thanks.  I hope I can get lucky for a couple more weeks and get in the money spots.  I think it’s still pretty doable now.  Glad I didn’t quit...  Was about to a couple of weeks ago.

Didn’t you win it last season toke?
You’re doing a Liverpool FC this season. You’re defending your title like shit Grin
I won it the season before you & did crap last season. It’s just so tough, too many people who know their football here Cheesy

Yeah, pretty sure he was first place overall last season. It's silly giving up as you can obviously win the 50 free bet every week regardless of where you are in the league but it's also not that difficult to move up the table quite substantially with a good round or two. I've been bouncing up and down with each round to be honest.

Being able to change your username should come as one of the perks of a new donator rank that people can purchase. VIPs can change their name as well as staff so making it a paid feature could be useful and it's something probably a lot of people would like to do. Admin's probably don't have time for most name changes and seems a bit unfair that only a very few can do it so it would be helpful if it didn't need to involve them. Most of the time people changing their name is annoying though, especially with older users.

Looks like a nightmare round for predictions to me this week:

Can anyone really pick a clear winner out of those line-ups other than both the Manchester games? They all look like very close match-ups. Chelsea should win at home against Wolves though but all else look like potential draws to me.

I don't know why most top team coaches in the EPL always look down on the FA cup especially when they are doing good in the EPL. What's wrong should a team win the both trophy? I believe Klopp wasn't more concerned of winning this game against Manchester United, all he wanted was a draw and instead he lost. You don't joke with a team playing from there home except your set on loosing and Manchester United is even more deadly playing from home. Kudos to Manchester United and I hope this will go a long way to boosting the morale in the EPL.
Everton is another team that did great yesterday to have beaten Sheffield Wednesday by 3-0 goals. Chelsea on the other hand still conceived a goal and scored 3 goals to secure there win.

Most of the big clubs are more interested in the PL and CL and concentrate heavily on that, but they should take the cups more seriously as for many it's going to be their only chance of silverware this season including Liverpool. Klopp seems to always whine about the number of games and try's to save players for the PL but he fielded a pretty strong team this time compared to last year where it was a bunch of schoolboys. I thought Liverpool played pretty well though and I think a draw would have been fair. I certainly was hoping it was going to go into extra time. Shame it didn't. Man U don't deserve to be where they are in all competitions in my opinion. Not sure how they're sitting at #1 in the PL right now. City do have a game in hand though which a win would take them into 1st.
