702  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Where do I get free Bitcoins? on: November 11, 2012, 01:47:08 AM
I'm giving away 0.02 to 0.10 BTC a day to reviewers at The Bitcoin List.

Thread here: The Bitcoin List needs YOU ... and is willing to pay!
703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Bitcoin List needs YOU ... and is willing to pay! on: November 11, 2012, 01:40:45 AM
If you post a review, please remember to include your BTC address. There were two reviews yesterday without addresses and, while I'm planning on emailing the contributers to gather that information, I can't guarantee that I'll go through the trouble again, especially if there are significantly more reviews.

Sorry, no porn.

No takers?

If only one person had posted a review they would have gotten 0.10 BTC.

Oh well, I'll keep the offer going for a few more days.

My bitcoin directory site is getting a fair number of daily page views but no reviews. So, for a limited time, I'll be rewarding the five best reviews per day with 0.02 BTC each. I will be the sole judge and I will be using only my personal opinion as a basis for deciding which are "best". If there are less than five reviews submitted in a day, the total 0.10 BTC will be divided equally among them.

Please try and be as descriptive as possible when rating a site and include your BTC address for payment.

If you own or can suggest sites that aren't listed yet, I'll be happy to include them if you'll submit them via the contact form. If a site is offline or inactive, submit that fact as a review and you'll be considered for one of the daily prizes.

You may submit as many reviews on as many listings as you like, but if I feel like they're spam or just noise, they won't be approved.

711  Bitcoin / Meetups / Re: Austin, TX on: November 05, 2012, 07:52:32 PM
The location is not set in stone. I'd be willing to move it to someplace a little more northerly, like maybe the Lion and Rose. That should cut a good 20 minutes off your drive.
712  Other / Off-topic / Re: Ideas needed for relaunching homelessjackie.com on: November 05, 2012, 12:00:04 AM
That's an interesting idea, Bruno. So this would be a story in serial form, inspired and directed by suggestions from the forum.

As long as the protagonist doesn't end up on a spaceship named the BAS Satoshi, I think this is definitely workable.  Wink

As many of you know, I was taken in by user wong RAP, AKA Jackie, who was posing as a homeless girl actively using bitcoins to facilitate her lifestyle choices. I registered the domain homelessjackie.com and set up hosting for the site because I honestly believed a well-written blog by a young person without a permanent home or employment and technologically savvy enough to understand, mine, and carry out transactions with BTC would be worth reading.

Sadly, it soon came to light that this particular person was not who he/she claimed to be and I consequently shut down the site to avoid perpetuating the deception.

I don't want to abandon homelessjackie.com completely, however, but since I'm not close to anyone in the homeless community nor involved with any "help the homeless" campaign, I'm stumped about possible uses for this domain and I'm turning to the bitcointalk community for suggestions. Remember, I'm looking for ideas that should be related in some way to the URL but I'm open to creative and imaginative concepts.
716  Other / Off-topic / Re: Could the Computer Age Have Begun in Victorian England? on: November 04, 2012, 06:14:14 PM
Ah, yes, related to the difference engine, I'm sure.

William Gibson and Bruce Sterling wrote a pretty good alternate history novel featuring it.

720  Economy / Services / Re: Send letters with Bitcoin on: October 16, 2012, 04:59:43 PM
Hi all,

I'm starting a new service whereby I'll post a letter (up to 2 sides of A4 paper) on your behalf from the UK to anywhere in the world. This can be anonymous, or not, depending on your preference. If you provide an email address you will receive confirmation and a tracking address for your letter. Why not give it a shot?

anonymailer.shop.tm

Let me know if you have any questions or feedback!

-John

Interesting, I will bookmark your service, never know when it comes in handy  Smiley

Ditto.

A little more information on your site might be nice. I didn't want to initiate a purchase just to find out exactly how this worked. Do I upload the letter or type it?
