snip
Manny has shown old age and stiffness of his body he is good for exhibition matches only and for the sake of money not for another belt, he cannot keep up with the younger generation anymore.
The return of Manny Pacquiao to fight in the boxing ring at an old age it is not possible to snatch the belt from a boxer younger than him, maybe he noticed some stats records during his fight with Ugas and opted for exhibition matches only, of course for money not about belts because sponsors have to pay more It's high to reach a contract deal with 2 superstars professional boxers, but regarding the rumors for the list of opponents Mayweather or Amir Khan is very interesting to watch, we will continue to monitor the official news and hopefully it will be released soon.

Contrary to others that looked excited about the exhibition match between Amir Khan and Manny Pacquiao, I do hope that won't happen. It's easy money for Amir Khan and he is not even close to Pacman's strength and fame. That's also an exhibition match and there will be no seriousness in that fight. What can we expect watching this fight? A staged one and scripted to entertain people.

If Pacquiao wants an exhibition make it to the point that it's against a boxer on the same level, Amir Khan is overrated and he should just rest at his home. Don't be like Mayweather that willing to go down in level for the sake of money.
722  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and MLM Schemes on: June 30, 2022, 11:50:34 PM
On gambling, you are guaranteed to lose,

Not true in most cases. Maybe at casino games that need pure luck but gambling isn't just about luck.

If that's your status then stopped doing gambling as it's not for you. A guaranteed loss in gambling is the worst mindset.

Stay away from gambling if that's your mindset.

on MLM if you have a good organization and you are promoting a good and legit product you can make a profit the only way you can lose from MLM is if you are lazy to recruit people, there are still good MLM companies and they are license, a legit MLM should be focused on their products and services making money out of their profit plan is just a perk for actively promoting the product or services.

But in most cases, MLM is focused on referral programs and not on the product.

They are promoting aggressively the gains that users can get thru the referral programs instead of focusing on the benefits of the product.

That's why MLM is even worst than gambling.
723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to gambling with money. on: June 30, 2022, 11:45:36 PM
Fake money will only increase the appetite for an addict to gamble with real money. Taking a break will help faster and can also help reduce the addictive nature of gambling. A better option is to engage the addict with some thing that has no business with gambling possibly making them spend more time around their family and loved ones other than suggesting placing bets with fake money

In the first place, the addicted gamblers might not want to test these fake apps since why should they try it if it won't give them a good real profit. These guys just came from real gambling then they will be convinced to try those virtual money games, they might respond to what the ***k is happening and they are giving a suggestion to undergo that kind of treatment.

A good treatment is to not let these gamblers face any forms of gambling be it real or not. They will soon be used on it if they are really serious to change. Giving them excitement while playing virtual gambling might cause another problem and won't help them change their gambling habit.
724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Government Owned Online Casinos What Do You Think Of Its Potential on: June 27, 2022, 11:59:22 PM
That is a sound argument but if you look at the calculation assuming that tax is around 20%, it means the government will be losing 80% of the generated income from the casino.  Corruption sprouts anywhere, so we aren't sure that the casino will be declaring the right income.  Thus other losses by the government.  Expenses on these 600 employees are just dust compared to the possible income of the government if they own the casino.  I don't think it is worth giving away the ownership of the casino just to avoid paying the salaries and benefits of these 600 employees.

Not totally losing the whole 80% as there are casinos that will operate even during the pandemic. Don't just look at the figures too as just by doing Math even 10% summed a good value. What's more for 20%, 30% and so on. We are referring to Macau here right where it mentioned on another thread that 80% of the country's revenue came from gambling.

Even if they will not reach the expected 80% of their revenue because of lockdown there, as long as gambling operations are continues, what matters here is, that the money is still flowing to them on their revenue. Soon, all operations will be back to normal and 80% will be achieved again.
725  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Macau's Casino Operation Continues Despite The Latest Outbreak on: June 27, 2022, 11:57:25 PM
Yes, I agree Covid permanent cure will be coming but we cannot be sure that there will be no Covid like a pandemic that will not come in the future, and it is not only a pandemic there could be war and a lack of resources like oil that is now hitting all the countries economy, it's ok for them not to make a big shift but they should think of adding more industries to augment their economy not only relying on Casinos.

That's already advanced thinking. Just go with the flow.

Follow safety protocols. Follow health standards. Obey rules. Obey others. Be vigilant. Always take care of yourself. Even if there will be a pandemic in the future, at least we now experienced being on it. We are not totally noob now on what to do.

Do your respective work while the world is doing its best to eliminate the health threats around the globe.
726  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casino Trends For 2022 on: June 27, 2022, 11:54:51 PM
I agree with you, what I have seen is that, for example, many children between 10 and 18 years of age have become children without self-esteem and antisocial behavior because they spend more time isolated with only their phones on social networks. games can even bring more fun, but it has to be something moderate, spending hours in games and not dealing with real world things, is something harmful

Children will really encounter gambling while they are growing up. It can't be avoided.

For me, it's good not to stop them from doing so, they will just be confused and curious as to why they are being prohibited to do gambling. Let them experience it and allow them to face the risks. As a parent or guardians, what we need to do is to feed them more information about the risks of gambling.

Minors aren't that dumb to just experience those risks. They will understand the risks of gambling depending on how good we are explaining it to them.
727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mark Magsayo vs Rey Vargas WBC Featherweight Title (July 9) on: June 27, 2022, 11:52:09 PM
I am hoping to see that as he was really criticized for not beating Russell easily despite the champion literally fighting with one hand only. He needs to silence the critics by beating Vargas which is healthy and a good challenger for him. I'm excited for this fight guys as you are, so let's hope that our champion will be able to defend his title in this fight.

The dude is obviously improving and hopes he won't be pressured in this upcoming fight so far he used his experience fighting in the US very well and he is gaining some more popular than before. nevertheless, he is expected to show some more moves and skills in this fight and more fans are calling for a knockout score to further stretch his confidence to fight more strong boxers in their weight division. Heavy punchers are popular in that division and to be one of them is a huge success and a chance to become one of the legends in boxing history.

Yes, he is improved. He won't climb the rankings if he's not improving. He won't get a chance for a title fight if he's not improving. And now that he finally gets the Championship title, it's clear that he really improved in his entire career in boxing.

He will be able to successfully defend this title. That's what I'm seeing here. We are witnessing another great Filipino boxer in the making that will dominate the Featherweight division and hope he can build a good stand here and move up weight soon.
728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Japanese man gambled away a huge Covid-19 relief funds mistakenly sent to him on: June 27, 2022, 11:49:40 PM
He's a good man after all if he wants to pay back the money he gambled away.

HO many of you would in all honesty give back so much money if you got it by mistake. It's easy to say it now and criticize the guy because you are not in his shoes. We all criticize people who made mistakes, but once in a while we do the same thing and become the victims of hate

So things are that easy? Just return the money and he's now a good man? If that settles all problems, it's now easy to do illegal things.

That man should face the consequences regardless if he will return the money or not. No excuses, no bullshits, no attachment involved.

He enjoyed using the money disregarding what will be the consequences of it. That guy should learn his lesson.
729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: June 27, 2022, 11:47:33 PM
They should really specially with JMF around, and yeah I would say they are pretty much stacked up. Maybe they will need to find a way to have the 'death five' again, but this time old faces and then new names for them.

With a new name, agree. Death Five already established a good run in the league. Who will be the new death five?

Let's wait until all players in SMB return with a healthy status. But for me, I'd rather like to see another Death Five same performance talent on another team.

It's time now to have unusual teams in the Finals which will likely we will only see during the import conference.
730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo vs Golovkin 3 (September 17) on: June 27, 2022, 11:44:33 PM
Both fighters are good at absorbing those solid punches. They've been tested by many fights from their early careers, the two early fights
ends up with decisions, these two fighters are not willing to fall down, both have strong chin and they know how to use the advantage to
Continue facing their opponent even they've been hit many times. We can only conclude who's going to win after the announcer calls the
name of the winner.

Canelo owned the judges on those 2 fights. Just an assumption for me but it's clear GGG won 2 of their previous meeting. There will be no massive demand by most boxing fans to make the trilogy happen if there's no question about Canelo winning the second meeting.

GGG is just even silent because he knows what really happened.

I like GGG to give Canelo another to make his mouth shut. Just recently, Canelo trash talk GGG but the latter didn't respond. What bad behavior from Canelo.
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 27, 2022, 11:41:23 PM
So second generation of Pippen coming into the Lakers next season. So we will see how good the kid is compare to his father.

You can't expect something on a player that was in a 2-way contract. I doubt their playing time will be average at 5 minutes.

It's not a big achievement although still, these players can play in NBA. Drafted players are even getting difficulty and struggling to get good playing minutes and they need to be a hyped player before they can taste it. That's why don't expect another generation of Pippen because of that news.

Be listed on the draft list, teams should sign them, that's a great achievement.
732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minor Protection From Gambling on: June 27, 2022, 11:34:59 PM
Using biometric technology for age verification looks pretty good, this could be a good solution to reduce access to gambling sites by minors.
But even so, those (minors) who already know about gambling sites will do everything they can to be able to open them again.
Actually, a very important role lies with parents, as parents must be able to keep their children from being connected to any gambling sites. If parents care about their children, then parents will be the first protection from gambling sites.

It's a hassle thing not just for minors but also for legal-age gamblers that want to gamble.

Gambling sites won't just focus on preventing minors as they have businesses to run. If they will add that biometric technology, I doubt some users will still try that site. For a solution, they will just find a user-friendly site that doesn't have any hassle thing about registration.

That wasn't a good idea and in fact, that's only a band-aid solution as minors can still access gambling sites in a various ways.
733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: June 27, 2022, 11:32:22 PM
Agree with. This fight has no reason why should it not happen.

Spence already mentioned that he will fight Crawford before deciding to moved-up weight. The same goal also to Crawford before deciding to move-up weight. These boxers have the same goal - to unify the Welterweight division titles and that is something difficult to achieve.

If only these boxers was in the same with Pacquiao, I think they won't even stand a chance to become a unified champion. Smiley

I hope both parties already agreed on the split of revenue because I read that that's the main problem why this fight might not happen. Spence is trying to get a higher percentage because he has more belts while Crawford wants a 50/50 share, I don't know but if they will not agree then this fight will remain on paper only.

Someone will have to give an inch and I think this will be Crawford so that the fight is going to happen. We don't have to hear so many excuses, Crawford try to eliminate the first hurdle by not signing with Top Rank again and then Spence Jr, holding his move up in weight at 154 lbs and challenge Charlo.

If this fight is not going to happen then it's too bad for us. Probably this fight will not happen if the first negotiations will bog down, Crawford is not getting any younger and should be pursuing big fights like this before he retires.

Agree with you there. Terence Crawford should adjust if it's about the split 60/40. If Spence is asking too much although there's no report about it, then that's a problem. There's no news yet that was released about the progress of this fight so we all left with lots of questions.

July is approaching and hopefully, we can now hear some progressive news about the fight that will be one of the biggest fights this year. Crawford and Spence should now finished their book and we will now witnessed who's the best at the Welterweight.
734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 26, 2022, 11:59:11 PM
....
KD + Lillard is not a good combination.
+ a bunch of nobodies because they will be sending a lot of their role starters if it's not a KD for Dame trade. It's amazing that it's like people thinking two NBA superstars will win championships. KD will have to be a free agent again before he could join a team without disrupting their roster like what happened in GSW.

And to our surprise, it might even include Damian Lillard in the trade package. Cheesy

Whoever starts this Lillard-Durant duo idea should think properly. That won't happen and it's not good chemistry.

Durant will stay on Brooklyn Nets until the end of his career. He will be 38 years old if Durant will finished his contract at the Nets. Durant likes to lead a team without the help of any superstars. No need for Lillard to assist him on that goal. Lillard also has its own goal.
735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Macau's Casino Operation Continues Despite The Latest Outbreak on: June 26, 2022, 11:58:00 PM
Throughout the World there is more restriction over the operation of different businesses. What we see with Macau is different, because the country itself is dependent on the gambling industry. Macau should plan some alternate way to keep the country's economy stable, when there is no big profit from the gambling industry. Slowly more restrictions are getting effective all around the globe as the next wave of covid-19 is expected soon. Already it have affected China.

I'm sure there are alternatives. It's not that they are doomed because the gambling industry there will be weakened. Besides, it's not in the long term that they will experience that outbreak. It will end soon and they can return to the healthy gambling industry like before. They have lots of money saved in an emergency crisis like this. They know how to handle the situation.

Macau is always ready for any economic problem it will face.
736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Government Owned Online Casinos What Do You Think Of Its Potential on: June 26, 2022, 11:56:09 PM
I accidentally read one of the newspapers and saw a title on the first page where Sri Langka showed the casino boss to serve as the investment minister. So I thought about the title of this topic where the government casinos  is there potential?

So do you think this is suitable for me to reveal in this topic.

So what should Sri Lanka do when the economic crisis really passes the 90% mark and do you believe where government-owned casinos will have great potential if the country is in a severe crisis. On the one hand, it is true that government owned casinos allow players to trust them and whether the appointment of a minister from his past history of being a casino boss is the right choice.

Regardless of the profession, what if that Casino boss knows fully how to handle the position as an investment minister.

I think we should disregard being the Casino boss here as to what if this guy has the skills.

However, Sri Lanka is now on the verge of being a failing country. They need to unite to be as one as even how knowledgeable those officials, it needs wide support from the whole people of that country.
737  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 26, 2022, 11:53:42 PM
Well, Manny Pacquiao already retired in the boxing industry last year because he was already busy doing other works and the other reason is that he's running for president in the Philippines which eventually he lost last month. And as you stated, Manny Pacquiao is already an established business man, celebrity, a legend, a politician, and surely those things can support his family including his future grandkids.

There is a lot of circulated news by some random source that Manny Pacquiao might return to the ring. I'm not sure if one of those is even close to becoming legit but for me personally, I think if Pacquiao will able to have some lots of spare time again, he will go back to ring in an exhibition match as the only reason he retires is that he seeks the presidency that requires full-time effort.

Let's wait and see.
738  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: June 26, 2022, 11:50:35 PM
But to get the date of when they will fight - the purse split matters to their respective promoters.
In some cases, the boxers themselves want to fight as soon as possible.
But the delays originate from their promoters, who are not in agreement with their split.
And yes, Crawford vs Spence Jr, this will definitely happen, only the date is yet to be determined.
They will rake huge money, but getting the 4 world titles would be the best to get from this event.

Not in rush as I think whether it's not organized yet or not, the possible date will still be in October or November.

The purse split is really an important matter to discuss but I think they are close on the deal. Maybe there are other issues that need to be addressed and not just the purse split like location, venue, and any others.

But one thing is for sure, we can expect this fight this year. I don't see any reason why it should not happen.

As much as they want to fight each other the soonest time, they really have to negotiate first specially the magnitude of this fight. And then we have the ego of this two in equation, but maybe Crawford will give in to the 60/40 split just to make this fight happen. I think the location can be settled in as usually the venue have been reserved by major promoters and networks, it's who is going to fight on that said date.

This fight is going to happen this year no doubt about it. We will just have to wait for the announcement and then press conference will kick off and we can see the trash talking start.

Smiley
739  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Macau's Casino Operation Continues Despite The Latest Outbreak on: June 25, 2022, 11:59:24 PM
Wikipedia said it was 50% of the country's revenue[1] unless this data is outdated.  The pandemic has greatly affected the Macau Gambling industry, last year of May their revenue from the gambling industry was down 68%[2] so definitely, they won't let this thing happen again.  That is why despite the pandemic and the possible spike they are willing to operate to recover last year's losses.  Besides if they shut down the Casino operation, their economy might collapse.  Looking for alternative revenue isn't easy and it won't take effect soon.

That was horrible. 68% down because their gambling industry was affected. That was a devastating loss on their part.

With that numbers and figures, it does reasonable for them to let casinos just freely operate even with the latest outbreak. I'm sure they are more informed now on what to do to prevent more additional Covid Cases. They are now more prepared today than before.

Shutting down the casinos will just repeat what happened to them. That's not a good move. They can operate their casinos without adding more fatalities to the latest outbreak. They can handle the situation now unlike before.
740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Casino Trends For 2022 on: June 25, 2022, 11:58:54 PM
and actually some gambling site have the trend of using NFTs to give more privileges to some gambler and I think this can be the next big thing in crypto gambling.

NFT is overhyped. I doubt it will be the next big thing in crypto-gambling. I even don't see why or how.

Let alone NFT dominates the other crypto-industry but don't expect it will be a big thing in crypto-gambling.

Gamblers will always be gamblers and they will prefer the usual. Crypto-gambling will surely grow thanks to the popular crypto-gambling sites that make it possible by doing big partnerships and sponsorships. The big marketing that these sites do contributes to the popularity of crypto-gambling and not because of this NFT overhype.

maybe, they will find certain audience of gamblers that will have interest on nft. but i guess, the majority won't touch this part of gambling feature. as the future of most NFT items are uncertain, they won't spend a lot on this. but maybe they will keep an eye on this feature but won't take this very seriously because once the hype is over, most of these nft items won't be worth holding or playing. only few gaming platforms can sustain their nft side..

I agree with you both. NFT in gambling might be a game-changer but I doubt it really is that hyped.

A gambler will still prefer the common thing they are seeing in gambling. Maybe those new to gambling or gamers are those who only will put an interest in NFT but eventually, the interest will soon fade as NFT without hype is nothing.

Lots of NFT-based nowadays. Only few survives and make names even how good the effort to put an hype on it.
