741  Other / Meta / Re: Important notice to the bitcointalk community. on: December 16, 2013, 10:54:55 PM
Never really thought about adding one until recently.  Any hope we will be able to add them at some point soon?
742  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this Good Stategy? on: December 16, 2013, 10:51:04 PM
If you bought as much as you could at $950, maybe that wasn't the best idea.  Maybe you should have put in half your money and then waited a month and put in another 25%.  So you did that you could buy more BTC the more it dips.  Now, if you don't have anything extra and you think it's going lower, sell a little so you can buy back if correct but if you're wrong, you will still make some money back.  But no one knows what it's going to do, so maybe it's the best idea to sell a little nad buy back if it heads lower, or else in another month.
743  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do Fed decisions effect your bitcoin outlook? on: December 16, 2013, 10:48:53 PM
Good question, I have wondered myself.  I don't know how the BTC price has acted with prior Fed decisions.  However I DO think some of the BTC price is driven up due to excess liquidity.  If that's true then if the Fed tapers the BTC price might go down.  Only time will tell I guess.
744  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it hit $1000 again? on: December 16, 2013, 10:47:50 PM
I think it will go back up again.  However, query how much was due to China buying and now the Chinese can't buy as easily so there could be a problem with ramping back up.
745  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: We're developing a card for you to spend BTC like cash, would you use it? on: December 16, 2013, 10:45:16 PM
I'm not sure if this is what you had in mind, but a card that was connected to my btc wallet and I could then automatically convert it it's USD and spend it like a credit card, now that would be awesome.  If it's what I think it is though, wouldn't the merchant have to accept BTC?  and there aren't many who accept it.

My major issue is I can't convert BTC in fiat and then withdraw the fiat.  If I could spend it like cash then I wouldn't have to withdraw it, so I'd be more willing to hold onto BTC for a long time.
746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Dogecoin Hit $1 USD? on: December 16, 2013, 10:42:22 PM
You never know, it seems like alt coins are a dime a dozen but then some of them take off and sometimes you can't even tell why.   Maybe someone buys a bunch and gets the momentum going and people pile in.  What is so great about dogecoin, I see everyone pumping it everywhere - or else maybe it really is good, I'm not sure.
747  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Would appreciate feedback on my bot concept on: December 16, 2013, 10:32:55 PM

And here are questions I have for you:
- Would you use this bot?
- Any features you would like to see in such a bot?
- Would you donate once you get the bot?
- Would you donate to a small donation round to let me work full time on the bot for a month so I can release it ASAP?

Thank you,
See you later with answers,
Michael Becker

Funny I was just saying the other day I thought there is a MAJOR need for this type of bot.  For some way for multiple coins to be organized, etc. without having to individually click on every wallet etc.  So yes I'd def. use it.

One feature that would be nice is if the bot could download wallets for whatever coin the person wanted.  For instance you click yes I want a WDC bot and it will get you one.
748  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do you think will become of JP Morgans Digital Currency? on: December 16, 2013, 10:30:42 PM
Someone pointed out that this is only applying for a patent so this could be a long way to actually having a competitor for BTC.  I saw a Russian bank also say they thought virtual currencies were the future.  However, I think BTC has the "first mover" advantage, like Amazon ebay etc. where people are already familiar with BTC.  What is JP gonna do, they will try to make money somehow, will they only allow you to use their currency in some places?  BTC is trying to go global and never says "oh Walmart you can't use BTC."
749  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: China Bans Payment Companies from Working With Bitcoin Exchanges, Sources Claim on: December 16, 2013, 10:21:45 PM
Yes I read this article too.  I think it was from a China-based news service, which mostly report things from the official party line.  So not good news for China BTC.  Maybe the Chinese can buy BTC from sites located in other countries?  But it's not good because it's setting a bad tone in China, like the govt. saying don't buy them.
750  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do people believe so firmly in 'the law' on: December 16, 2013, 10:15:46 PM
I think one of the most basic functions of law (something that is abused sometimes in current day China and is holding them back) is to protect people's property.  Maybe this seems cynical but without law, someone could just come live on your front lawn if they wanted.  If that was allowed, why would you want to even bother working to try to contribute to society and make money, if it was worthless and you couldn't buy property without someone taking it?
751  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin mining is Dead, Tot, Apagado, Gone w tricycle, 88 on: December 16, 2013, 10:01:09 PM
Wow 2 whole posts from the OP and he knows everything there is to know about BitCoin. Who cares if you mine out .0001 Bitcoin a day when 1.0 Bitcoins is worth $6,000 because it is so difficult to produce new ones. Is it just me? or is that kind of common sense?

That's possible.  But rarity does not alone make something valuable.  For instance (a stupid example but...) I am holding a pen and it's the only pen I've held today.  It is still only as valuable as it will write - no one will pay me extra because it's the only one I held today.  (Ok ok but that changes if I'm Justin Bieber.)
752  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Earning almost double my money with Block Eruptors in less than 30 days! on: December 16, 2013, 09:59:10 PM
I'm surprised so many people are willing to spend so much on mining equipment.  It is a real risk but I guess people have more money than they know what to do with.  Or they have "free" electricity?
753  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Dicelead.com-play or invest|1%edge|FREE BONUS&BITCOIN |50% massive commission on: December 16, 2013, 09:48:45 PM
Did you checked me?
Still not received.

Yes I haven't received it yet either.  It seemed like he was going a lot faster, maybe he's not logged on now.  Did you see the withdrawal fee is so high? weird isn't it?
754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coindesk - China might have just killed BTC there. on: December 16, 2013, 07:58:55 PM
Well, there was a positive article out too about the Swiss gov. being supportive of BTC and treating it just like any other foreign currency.  I think this is what we really want, BTC to be considered a currency instead of like a security/good, like the stock market or gold, right?
755  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BEWARE: Cryptsy is a Scam and will eventually shut down and hold balances on: December 16, 2013, 07:46:12 PM
I've been ok using cryptsy.  Yes it's slow and I don't deal with a lot of funds so that might be why I'm fine with them.  I know if I was a day trader I would be more upset though, because time is money (like you said, the GLD went up in price and you missed out because the funds were gone).  I've never had money disappear or anything and I have withdrawn without any problems.
756  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: CampBX on: December 16, 2013, 07:44:22 PM
At what point is this a scam?

Waiting on a withdrawal for 1 month now.  Submitted tickets and was told there was a 2 week delay.  2, 3, now 4 weeks have gone by and they recently said they'd handle it but I still have the funds in my account with the "pending" withdrawal.

i haven't had any problems with them yet. I don't move very large amounts though and i'm a US citizen. perhaps you have been flagged for some illegal activity or using multiple bank accounts.

I am a US citizen, live in the US, and it's less than $500 at stake.  And nothing funny happened.  No, they just replied with some BS about logistical issues, they haven't accused me of doing anything funny (which I haven't and there are barely any transactions on my acct anyway).

No problems, but have you tried withdrawing?  that is the problem lately, they won't let ppl get money!
i withdrew on the 13th, and it was in the bank this morning when i checked.

I have done 2 bank withdrawals in the past (a few months ago) but they were for like under $100.  They were quick, like you said.  This money order thing is ridiculous though, how long I've been waiting.  Don't offer it as an option if they aren't going to send them.

758  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Block found with 0 transactions? on: December 16, 2013, 07:37:21 PM
So is it possible to somehow chose which blocks you mine?

Yes it is based on rules and their is even a patch so if you want to include a specific transaction in a block you mine you can do so. You would need to make a custom bitcoin-qt. Otherwise by default it does it by priority which is based on fees.

Wow I had no idea.  See there are still so many little crevices of BTC, little secrets that stuff like this will prevent the masses from catching on.  Who would want to be involved in something like this?  Why not force everyone to mine one block so nothing funny can happen?
759  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Which mining pool you suggest? on: December 16, 2013, 07:34:06 PM
I've tried Slush's ppol and bitminter and both were good.  I feel like bitminter was more helpful to a newbie and lush was more barebones.  They have different payout structures as well so you can see what you like.  But both are easy.  For multicoin I use multipool and although it's down sometimes it's good and admin is responsive.
