Would have been better during the summer for release....I like my space heaters!  Power efficiency not any better; (sigh) but a step in the right direction at least.
743  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashPrime.Com on: October 10, 2014, 01:31:07 AM
Do? Nothing. Money is gone.
2fxltd.com is also offline btw.
Looks like we have a bigger Problem here.
I was referring to a non-newb account but yes I know it's gone but someone may know more.  Especially Blockchain.info, which the HashPrime.com is now gone as well off their site.
744  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HashPrime.Com on: October 09, 2014, 09:09:23 PM
Website is down as of 1pm pst.  Curse blockchain.info for having this on their site.  What to do now?

I was trying to learn if btc was worth mining, my attitude was good until I learned what a scam cloud mining is.  I also learned that bitcoin is not an investment.

I plan to use it as a purchasing tool now.  I like to bet sports and my favorite book takes btc
WTF!   Dude you obviously don't know what you are talking about.  BTC is mainly an investment first and a currency later.  Stop thinking right now.

I sure hope it's Dogie friendly as well! Isn't Brock located in Canada, A? Shocked
748  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Getting into BTC. on: September 28, 2014, 04:54:10 PM
If you're looking for a great hobby and a huge community resource then mining is worth it.  But as said, profit, as always means huge amounts of hash power or at least efficient miners.  Cloud hashing is only profitable in the same way, huge amounts but takes away from the home hobby of tinkering and managing your own pools.  Strongly suggest just buying some btc now while it's low.
749  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: September 28, 2014, 02:21:17 AM
Do the ants work on Nicehash/Westhash to be exact.  I'm sure this has been discussed before and my ant s3+ are running stock config.

Work for me.  Running both S1 and S3 on westhash ATM.  I would say accepted rate is very close to theoretical, or what is shown in antminers stats.
I'm getting like 15k discarded for every 1k per the antminer ui is this normal?  And after 15 min running my btc address doesn't show up in the stats list.  Again not running anything other than from the antminer itself.

I didn't do anything too special, just put westhash pool info and that's it.  My BTC address showed up in stats immediately.

I do have huge number of "discarded", about 30:1 to "accepted" but hashrate shown on westhash is roughly the same as shown in ant UI.  Try setting difficulty using "d=xxx" password, I use "d=128" for S1 and "d=256" for S3 however S3 usually switches to diff 512.  I also initially had better luck connecting to nicehash, which is strange (I'm in US, however on the east coast).
Thanks.  Will retry.

Yes please post what a oveclocked s3 does I am dying to know. I run two of these over clocked each on a corsair pro hx1000 (1000w) gold rate psu. Well because i got the psu's on ebay for around $75-$90 each Smiley I know I know the server psus are cheaper but they are so hard to find specs on or info on wiring up the needed cables etc.
Maybe something to try one day as a backup in case Smiley

I have 1` s3
and 1 s3+ (another one  on the way)

I guess I need to order a killawatt meter- figured though save myself a bit of cash and find someone else who has the readings. If you got those readings miners everywhere will love you, because i cant find that info anywhere.

The specs. you request have been posted here before, I bought my kilowatt meter for like $25.  But I don't want to overclock them so you'll have to search.  I would assume overclocked, no more than 475-500w per antminer using 4 pci-e connectors.

I just received my 3 S3+. I have 2 corsair hx850 PSU's. Will they be enough to run all 3 at stock speeds and would their be any wiggle room to OC them a bit?
Yes. Mine pull 360w at the wall stock.  So 2 on a psu at stock speeds should be just fine and the other all by itself on the 2nd.

360watts at the wall  at stock speed. Have you checked the at the wall wattage @ 231.25, 237.5, 243.75 and 250 That info would be a big help Thanks in advance
I have 3 on one psu and the psu is plugged into the meter.  Current average for 3 is 1112w off of 120v outlet.  So Bitmain claims 355w per so I just took an average of all.

755  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HASHRA units on: September 26, 2014, 10:38:12 PM
Hashra has shipped previously.
You can find their lunar landers on ebay.
This said....no guarantee they will ship this time.
As always never order until there's proof of customers receiving units and in working condition.
756  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DB1000 2TH/s - available in October on: September 26, 2014, 12:06:39 AM
Don't you realize who you are dealing with.  The community has seen this all before and our watchdog brothers (mentors).
First thing that is wrong is your stealing photos and video that's not your own.
If I was to sell something and it was 2 weeks before shipping don't you think I could take my own photo's or video.
Secondly the most important spec. on mining rigs is the asic itself, and where's your info. on that?
I will sell you a self contained liquid cooled can of soda if you'd like.
Come on and get real and don't waste the communities time and shame on you if someone actually buys.

I think most start with hosting to make up initial costs that is what Gaw and many others did at the start.  Just have a bullet proof contract and something that sets you apart from the rest and you're golden.  Good Luck!
758  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: September 14, 2014, 04:42:38 AM
Anyone think it would be possible to run (4) S3+ Units off a single EVGA 1300 G2... If perhaps I underclocked them a bit?

Wondering if the loss in hash would actually give better ROI using less PSUs.

Strato
I wouldn't even try it.  Just spend $60 and find a psu on sale for the 4th one.  It's best not to push the psu's to their capacity.

Missed my B8 S3+ delivery today but I'm picking it up from UPS in an hour,  so stoked!  Can't believe they sent these out 2nd Day Air from China at their expense, How Sweet! Cheesy  Bitmain you rule.... well except for your preorder on the L1.
760  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: September 10, 2014, 04:09:41 PM
