761  Local / India / Re: [ANN]Speculation Game -10th anniversary Indian Forum Celebration-Win 0.002211btc on: November 22, 2019, 10:57:36 AM
So here is the day finally. It's been exactly 10 years since this forum was created by satoshi in a different domain https://bitcoin.org/smf

The winner would be known at 6.04 PM UTC today i.e 11.34 PM Indian time. Please keep an eye on the dumping prices of BTC and most probably I would be unlocking this topic at 11.30 PM.
762  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Bitcoin Penny™ 2020 Sample Coins | 7 of 10 on: November 21, 2019, 10:52:15 AM
That's a good question, H_H. Thanks for asking it. We used to hold our more rare and exclusive sales/auctions in that same way, with a small purchase limit per person.
...snip...
@Penny, I will take back my words. This auction is not going to go the way I thought as far as I am seeing through these bids.  Cry BTC prices are dumping and here the prices are pumping to get hold of this beautiful .999 coin  Shocked

I will be back tomorrow near the end of auction to have some fun(If not stuck on these boring meetings).
NOOO, please! Cry Another guy is watching silently and would pop-in anytime sooner near the end and you both would solely take the auction prices to 0.02-0.03 BTC

1 coin @ 0.0085BTC

Final bid from me and probably won't win, will return back when you announce 2020 silver and copper pennies.
763  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predict Bitcoin! on: November 19, 2019, 10:43:25 AM
There hasn't been any major news regarding anything favoring cryptocurrencies right at the moment. The sudden price hike (May 2019) is probably because of the announcement of Libra by facebook and once the hype of Libra has worn out we have been seeing a sideways market for a longer time period. But at the same time, there has been minor decrease in the prices like a sudden dip of $100-$200 in a day etc. I believe this would happen in a longer run and there won't be any price action until the halving effect comes into picture. If this trend continues for the end of this year, it wouldn't be surprising to see another $6500-$7000 resistance level. The halving can also have a negative effect on the price such that of the recent litecoin price action. Halving should be favored along with really good news and major developments in the cryptocurrency space.

Right after the 2018 major price crash in cryptocurrency market, many newbie investors lost interest and has left the market due to the fact they have lost almost thousands of dollars in the bearish run. For the hike to occur again, we need more newbie investors to return again (considering from a investment and trading point of view) and such a scenario is highly unlikely in the current timeframe. The old timers (who came to the market at 2011-2014) would always trade even if there is another major crash and the new traders (after 2017-2018 price hike) who believe in the true potential of the bitcoin would stay forever in the market unless they suffer a major loss like Mt.Gox.
764  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ordered "Simple & Elegant Wallet" cards from Bobby Lee - Ballet on: November 19, 2019, 06:11:56 AM
I have been going through the discussions from the start, but I believe this is more of a collectible card rather than using it as a wallet in larger masses. If it was to be a wallet, it could have been made without any number limitations like Ledger Nano. People not trusting on pre-funded coins should also have a read on crypto collectibles as well. There are 10-100 BTC pre-funded Casascius coins out there without being peeled and neither of these casascius coins have been a problem for any of the collectors AFAIK. The collectible market is little expensive at times with a 1 BTC first day funded Cas coin going for 6 BTC (approx) and a Kialara Moon suite going for over 3 BTC in auctions.

I am not against any of the tech experts bad thoughts on physical ballet cards and physical bitcoins as a whole but they are one of the section to be explored for sure if someone is present in the cryptocurrency space. Though if I order/buy one in future I would never use this as a wallet, but it would be very much better to have it as a collectible good. At times, my thought is that it's far better to invest in  crypto collectibles instead of highly volatile bitcoin. I never use bitcoin as a investment thingy but as a currency for global transactions. Cryptocurrency collectibles increase in prices over time and are not related to the bitcoin prices which will be very helpful during massive volatilities.  Wink
765  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] Bitcoin Penny™ 2020 Sample Coins | 7 of 10 on: November 18, 2019, 05:33:54 PM
Since there are only 10 of these coins being made and one among the rarest Bitcoin Penny coins ever minted, can we have an auction rule like a user can bid only on 1 coin. This would make 7 different individuals to have 7 coins instead of 1 guy having 4 or 5 or 7 coins. I guess this would be a better idea since 7 of the unique collectors would be having a hand on these rarities. Hearing other's opinion on this!

766  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Ways to Get More Traffic to BitcoinTalk.Org for all Casascius/Collectibles Sales on: November 17, 2019, 07:06:14 PM
I first got to know about the collectibles section around 1.5 years back when I was browsing through all the sections of this forum. Though I didn't have much money to spend for buying collectibles at that time, I have started buying collectibles from here for over less than a year. The experience was flawless and I am very comfortable with purchasing here rather than going to eBay or other sites in general. I am not sure on how much trades I have done in collectibles through this forum (maybe less than 10), but almost all the trades really ended up in a very good way.

I don't use eBay much nor I don't have an account there, but I know a little on how eBay market works through a friend. I am pretty sure, this forum collectible-trading is much better for buying crypto-related stuffs rather than buying through eBay. I am also sure that majority of the recent crypto-collectors present here have known about this forum only through a deep search for sales/auctions and not anything more. I agree with minerjones idea, but we can also try to bring new collectors here by mentioning this forum in the eBay sales topic as well. If this initiative was taken seriously by many of the eBay collectible sellers, we might see new collectors joining this forum in the upcoming days.

A simple scenario we can take is that, Kialara auctioned only 2 of their recent Hydra suites in eBay and the rest of them here. Hence, if we are mentioning this forum as a gateway for majority of the auctions to the eBay buyers by creating a topic there, that might bring them here. Just my thought.
767  Other / Meta / Re: Heisenberg's Merit Source Application for the Indian Board on: November 15, 2019, 10:48:21 AM
Thank you everyone for supporting my merit source application all these days. I am one among the new merit sources appointed by theymos yesterday. I have been allocated a decent amount of smerits to be spent. Hence, I encourage everyone to contribute for the betterment of the Indian board on the whole, particularly in Regional Languages and probably if you do so, there wouldn't be any problems for you in receiving merits or ranking up in future.

I can very well read, write and understand 4 of the major Indian languages and can partially understand another 2 languages so if your post is of high quality in one of the other regional languages apart from the 6 languages, I can translate using a google translate and merit you provided they are really good.

I do know there are far good Indian members contributing positively in the global boards, but from now on please try to contribute for the local board and make them active again.
768  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] The Bitcoin Penny Company Doodle Collection on: November 15, 2019, 10:06:57 AM
Though I have received this awesome package as early as May of this year, I didn't find time to open the package for the second time and take a picture of doodle and post here. Well, here is a picture of Popcorn doodle which I received with my order of 2019 copper pennies.

I am not sure, why CJ sends me doodles related to food very often.  Huh First it was Popcorn in May and a general Food and Water doodle in July I guess. So here is the second one The Voskcoin "Food and Water" doodle. Probably I should start collecting BCP doodles related only to food sooner.  Lips sealed

@everyone Can we see some more VoskCoin doodles please?  Shocked
769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alt-coins with practical use on: November 13, 2019, 09:29:43 PM
There are quite some altcoins which do serve the purpose of the coin. Some coins like Ethereum can be used for in the creation of smart contracts whereas other coins like XMR can be used to make transactions which are private. Apart from these, I guess Dash is the only coin having a real world use case.
770  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Using Bitcoin Core Having trouble Reading Information on: November 13, 2019, 08:00:01 PM
Should the file be readable or use a bunch of blank white boxes? I didn't want to post my wallet.

What are you trying to do here?  Huh Pretty much confusing since you have backed up your wallet. The wallet.dat isn't a human readable file and it is neither a file for you to open with a text editor such as Atom. The file is a database file and should be opened up with a wallet software such as Bitcoin Core or Electrum. The file is not only a encrypted one but consists of binary data as well. Better try with db_dump to view the data present in the file but I am not very sure regarding the same.

Oops Danny was faster

772  Economy / Reputation / Re: Trolls, delusions, dramas and a lot more in Indian local board on: November 13, 2019, 07:12:59 PM
...snip...

Well thanks for the inputs finally. Probably the $9500 would be taken into account since the price was well before the deadline and I would personally pay for that if the contest results in a tie since as you have pointed out none of the rules has been mentioned in the OP.

I was the one who has allowed to edit the post and that was wrong from my part. But the fucking Rotten Egg has been trying to ruin the board with his low level claims which wouldn't last further.

And now I realized that all this drama is for $20 so what the fuck. If 9500 wins I'll personally pay hacker1001101001. If you need me to put that amount into escrow let me know.
LOL  Grin The drama went to extremes when micg donated 0.01BTC and a raffle of similar kind would run every month with the winner claiming 0.001BTC until myself or any other guy stops donating to the escrow wallet  Grin

All these initiatives and activities are meant to improve the current state of the sub-board which was a frog pond infested with spams all these years!  Sad
773  Economy / Reputation / Re: Trolls, delusions, dramas and a lot more in Indian local board on: November 13, 2019, 06:03:42 PM
@suchmoon I respect your judgement towards forum people in most of the cases but does this seem to be the same? Clashing of prices in a topic like this/ clashing of tickets in a raffle would be quite a common thing and the OP would always inform the same to the participants. So was I, but since I got to know about the same prices a day later the problem arised. What would anyone do? Either go by LoyceV's way of sharing the prize amount or by informing the participant regarding the price clash and updating the same. I went the latter and if unlocking of topic is not an acceptable behavior from my side I should either update the OP with same price or shouldn't take the price into consideration (which could not happen since hacker posted the same price well before the deadline)

I was referring to a prolific walls-of-text troll who is well-known in Meta and other boards, and the fact that you seem to have many of such walls-of-text drama queens on the Indian boards.
I do know walls-of-text is a pain in the ass for almost all the forum users (including myself) but this was well needed for everyone to know about all the shit happened over. There was none of the drama happening over unless a troll like Rotten Egg stepped in. Feeding a troll like Rotten Egg by creating this topic will no way minimalize his involvement of ruining the board in future, but if this wasn't made the board would again transform into a frog pond.

P.S I never like to involve myself in Reputation board though I have been very active in almost all the global boards but this was needed for the welfare of the Indian board and to prevent trolls from further playing the game.

EDIT :

but I don't know what that help should entail and the OP is not clear about that.
The community inputs regarding the unlocking of a topic due to a price clash. Nothing more. AFAIK there hasn't been an instance of updating the same prices or tickets in a raffle.
774  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We should answer the important questions to increase Bitcoin adoption on: November 13, 2019, 04:30:58 PM
If you talk about Bitcoin adoption worldwide as a payment system, there are both advantages and disadvantages regarding the same. The advantages of bitcoin over other payment system is that they can be used as a global currency and we don't really need to depend upon the government for changing our currency notes while leaving the country as you have pointed out in the above reply. The same scenario could be very well taken as a disadvantage such that, will you be able to buy and sell $1,000,000 worth of bitcoin in a go? Will the price of bitcoin be as stable till we reach the other country? The core problem prevailing right now with the adoption on a larger scale might be because of the huge volatility it has.

Regarding some of your questions posted above,

Bitcoin is convenient to use on a smaller scale based on the legality of the bitcoin in a country, but on a larger scale people still fear about the government's regulatory practices. Adoption is hindered again with the scalability factors since Visa processes around 45,000 transactions per second whereas Bitcoin processes around only 7 transactions per second. All these problems would be solved only when devs come up with innovative ideas like segwit.

I don't believe Bitcoin as a trading mechanism and I spend my bitcoin for global transactions rather than holding them. But it's based on user's perspective since if Lazlo wouldn't have paid 10,000 btc for pizza we could have not seen the adoption in future. I follow the same as when I got more mature regarding the usage of bitcoin and I never hold btc and would spend them as a means of international payment very often.

Bitcoin was created to be used as a global currency, but does the majority of the global population really use them like that?
775  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What type of Cryptocurrency is used in the Deep Web for transactions? on: November 13, 2019, 10:17:32 AM
When compared to Bitcoin, Monero has been of greater interest to the people using cryptocurrency in the deep web transactions quite often. XMR is based on cryptonote technology and can be used as a completely anonymous currency while bitcoin is transparent and can be used to track on a wider sense. I was once visiting deep web regularly (way back in 2016) and majority of the dark websites have been using bitcoin back then. But after the 2018 pump on majority of the coins, monero, litecoin and dash are being used in a far majority while considering with bitcoin.

Stealth Addresses, Ring signatures and transactions are one of the well known tech which were adopted by monero to make the transactions between the users private and anonymous.

As we can see, Litecoin has gained 30% that has made transactions in the Darkweb aside from Bitcoin that mainly use.
Litecoin is more or less a popular fork of bitcoin with mining algorithms, confirmation times and total circulation being the only major difference between the two. Whereas Monero and Dash are far more different from bitcoin AFAIK. Not sure why Dark web users prefer using LTC instead of XMR  Huh

@OP this topic fits better in Altcoin Discussion rather than Bitcoin Discussion

The dark web does intrigue me to be honest but I wouldn’t have any idea how to access it. Does anybody have any experience of it?

I presume you use Tor but what do you even search for, how do you access it?
Tor was initially created to protect USA communications but it has taken a far bigger picture than it has intended to be  Shocked You could access non-indexed web pages and more importantly the .onion URLs by staying anonymous. Your IP gets connected to a TOR entry Node which further connects to another middle relay node and thereby finally reaching the exit node. The exit node will contact server and get back to you with the desired information. While I was using TOR I was very much concerned about my privacy since any wrong doings or downloading malicious content from any of the non-indexed sites will get you into serious troubles of self-doxxing yourself. I own a raspberry pi and have Kali Linux installed with it and subsequently use TOR. Visiting hidden wiki will help you get started with accessing various hidden dark websites.

Well if you need to stay truly anonymous you could use TOR but accessing any of the hidden sites very often will get you into unnecessary troubles in future.
776  Economy / Reputation / Trolls, delusions, dramas and a lot more in Indian local board on: November 13, 2019, 07:00:12 AM
Glad to know that Rotten Egg (one of the well known trolls of the Indian sub-section) has started making claims regarding myself and others who are supporting DarkStar_ for getting into DT, being a merit source and a lot more. So, here is a brief list of events which happened over in the Indian board in the last few days and which triggered Rotten Egg's activity to more than 10 within a couple of days :

I have been silently meriting, reporting posts in the Indian board for quite a long time (less than 2 years since when I got to know about the Report to Moderator feature). To make the board even more responsive and active I created various topics and even pitched the idea to celebrate 10th anniversary of the forum in the Indian local board. Here is the topic regarding the same : Ideas and Thoughts for celebrating 10th Bitcointalk Anniversary in Indian board

Many of the Indian posters willingly said they would like to donate some btc for the welfare of the forum and to bring the board back from dead. I was not willing to escrow the amount and hence said either DarkStar_ or krogothmanhattan or bl4nkcode could escrow the amount. Here is the post regarding that :

May be we can get a donation from other members as well and create a wallet whose private key you or an escrow can hold and give it to the winner at the end of the day.
Holding of anyone's personal funds by myself would be a really bad idea to proceed with as there would be unnecessary chaos among other members who are not really willing to trust me with the money. We can hire either someone like DarkStar_, krogothmanhattan or bL4nkcode (probably there are more reputed escrows) and I guess they wouldn't be imposing any fees for the escrow amount as this initiative is for a good cause and not for trading goods as such.

Yup, I can escrow for free for this if needed. Let me know if you end up going ahead with it.

ShashiRaJaVu said that it will be even more good to connect with the people of same nationality if we create a telegram group dedicated for the Indian bitcointalk people and this was the sole reason I created a telegram group. Almost all the reputed people are present over there. One anonymous user who was not willing to reveal his forum user name stepped in the group from nowhere and started arguing that I am imposing DarkStar_ to be the escrow on others and he was not willing to hire an escrow of Canadian descent for an Indian event. Hence we conducted the poll and many of them voted for DarkStar_ (probably we trusted DarkStar_ more with the money since they were very much experienced in handling escrows). There was a tie between DarkStar_ and legendster and since even legendster himself has favored DarkStar_ we went for DarkStar_ to be the escrow.

Here is the post for that :

Think I have voiced my opinion on this before. Thanks for the consideration. I don't think anyone could be a better option than Darkstar_ here because unlike me, he is really trusted by many people on this forum and he has proved his mettle.

Though this is no endorsement, just my opinion which is unbiased despite him helping me in my time of need.

Rotten Egg claimed that myself and others are willingly wooing DarkStar_ to be the escrow so that we could get into default trust. Avirunes was another trustworthy DT hailing from India and he was not willing to take up the escrow. chronicsky was the most trusted user hailing from India and they themselves has favored DarkStar_ for the escrow.

Post for reference :

First of all, the whole poll is meaningless if DS is there. Others are just no match with the trustworthiness of DS, who is entrusted by theymos to HODL a key for the forum fund. But, at the same time, this is an Indian thing, where we are not allowing non-Indian users. Hence, escrow should be Indian as well. A global celebration is already taking place in Meta run by theymos. I dont know, whether DS saw this thread and showed interest himself or some manipulative guy invited him here to complicate the process. Having seen lot of scammers before, I can somehow sense the modus operandi of a scammer. It seems, someone here wants to woo DS to be entrusted by him to get into DT2. That is when, we'll start to witness the real drama

I would like DarkStar_ to step upon this topic to prove that he hasn't been been invited by anyone and he just came through this topic with maggiordomo bot triggering a notification since I have tagged them in the prior post regarding who should escrow!

The speculation contest was more or less similar to micg's prediction topic. Hence I PMd micg to use their idea and none of us asked them to donate or so. They donated 0.01 btc willingly to bring the Indian forum back from dead and it was really an honour for us (Indian forum users). The donation amount is being held by DarkStar_ and would be paid for over an year by conducting raffles and we are also willing to donate for developers and translators of Bitcoin Core and bitcoin.org in Indian languages.

Since I disclosed Heisenberg_Hunter's plan to slip to DefaultTrust, become a merit source and moderator of India sub-forum he is fanatically reporting my posts. Some of his alts friends may have join the process as well. So, I am hereby requesting Mods to please read my post before deleting. Below is an example of wrong deletion, where I outed Heisenberg_Hunter to unlock his speculation game thread to allow his friend to edit their post.
Regarding this claim, I was the one who reported the post since it was off-topic and was totally unrelated. I have asked for Rotten Egg to create a Reputation topic against me but they didn't do that!

hacker1001101001 has posted the similar price as like akram143 ($9500) and since I noticed the post only at November 11 (after a day the topic was closed), I made a post in Telegram group dedicated for the Indian subforum asking to edit their price since it was similar to akram's price. If I had known about the similar price posts on November 10, I would have asked that prior to the locking of the topic. And more importantly hacker1001101001 has posted the wrong price well before the deadline date and I believe it was not wrong on my part asking them to edit the price and post a new price since the price was clashing with that of akram.

If that's totally a wrong move from the community's point of view, I would never take the price into consideration.

The telegram group consists of almost everyone of the reputed Indian users as well as New members. I am not willing to reveal the names of users, but if someone is willing to know they could PM me regarding the same and verify with them.

Regarding my contribution to the community, I am not a low level asshole like Rotten Egg hiding behind an alt account and never contributing anything for the Indian community apart from trolling people here and ejecting shit over here. Apart from contributing to the Indian forum for over 2 years (through reports) and by evoking interest among participants by organizing various activities for over 6 months, I have been a tester of Bitcoin Core and also a translator of Bitcoin Core and bitcoin.org in 3 languages. I am the coordinator and reviewer for an Indian language. If you have any doubts regarding my selfless contribution to the bitcoin community, anyone can PM either Will Binns (Lead Maintainer of bitcoin.org) or laanwj (Lead Maintainer of Core) and ask about my translation contribution through Transifex or through github or through Telegram.

P.S Everything is in English right from forum posts and telegram posts! It would be easier for anyone to read and judge anything related to the local board!
777  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 5 Movies Predicted to Win 2020 Oscar for Best Picture on: November 12, 2019, 03:40:18 PM
I was once an avid movie goer, but has limited my hobby to quite an extent after I got involved in Bitcoin. Even before I got to know about Bitcoin, I was an addictive torrenter (uploader and downloader of movies, TV Shows, comics) and was managing a torrent site as well. At times I even go to theatre, record movies through a cam and upload them in popular torrent websites  Tongue This was an addictive hobby for me right from my childhood and hence I do own 15 TB data of hard disk loaded with movies, TV Shows and Comics  Cheesy

I am a great fan of Star Wars movies (excluding The Last Jedi and The Phantom Menace) and novels and apart from that I do have a major interest in DC movies too. I have seen 3 of the above mentioned movies (The Irishman only for Martin Scorsese, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood for 'Dicaprio and Tarantino' and Joker since it was a DC movie). I feel that Joker was a celebration of comic book character with its own origin story and had a very dark approach towards the character. For most of the time, I prefer watching Dark movies like Joker and BvS rather than going for Justice League.

Though the new Disney takeover of Star Wars was not really successful except Rogue One, we still have 'not bad' hopes on 'The Rise of Skywalker'. They are the culmination of 40 year old saga which puts a definitive end to the Skywalker era!
778  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: After a decade, Bitcoin in charts on: November 12, 2019, 10:28:26 AM
These charts would have definitely given some goosebumps to many of bitcoin users all over the world. We do know how bitcoin is right now, the global phenomenon which might threaten Fiat money in future and almost all the citizens from various countries would just use one currency to transact worldwide without the need to trust/wait for the banks to process their transactions etc. Abraham Lincoln once said the democracy is all about

Quote from: Abraham Lincoln
that these dead shall not have died in vain—that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom[8]—
and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.

But does the current system of democracy work like this? Many of the people who are still not a user/never known of bitcoin are being treated as the slaves of the government officials who run a centralized form of govenement!

Once when I was reading the book "Digital Gold by Nathaniel Popper" I got a strange thought how the bitcoin would have been if Hal didn't respond to the mails of satoshi nor he didn't mine those ~4000 coins in a day? We do know that someone if not Hal would have emerged and would have replied to the mail and would have mined the coins initially. The bitcoin we use today and the bitcoin which challenges today's governmental organizations was built by these early cryptographers and satoshi alone wouldn't have made this happen.

Here is a gist from the book which made what bitcoin is today :

Quote from: Nathaniel Popper
Satoshi sent Hal a new version of the program, with some of the old material restored, and thanked Hal for his help. When it, too, crashed, Hal kept at it. He finally got it running using a program that operated outside Microsoft Windows. Once it was up, he clicked on the most exciting-sounding function in the drop-down menu: “Generate Coins.” When he did this, the processor in his computer audibly clicked into gear at a high clip.

...snip...

When Hal returned to his computer in the evening, heimmediately saw that it had made him 50 Bitcoins, now recorded next to one of his Bitcoin addresses and also recorded on the public ledger that kept track of all Bitcoins. These, the seventy-eighth block of coins generated, were among the first 4,000 Bitcoins to make it into the real world. At the time they were worth exactly nothing, but that didn’t dampen Hal’s enthusiasm.

Apart from the price actions (pump and dump) I admire the technology behind the bitcoin and how it poses a major threat for the global currencies and governments as a whole! I would like to bow down before the early contributors (not just satoshi) since without them bitcoin would have become obsolete!

780  Other / Meta / Re: Criterion for selecting a moderator for the local section on: November 11, 2019, 11:09:59 AM
Sorry mate, but you have misunderstood what I said, its not necessarily on a users account but the reputation of the board that can be left behind without any moderation.
Very true. Even with the removal of Dabs, you people still have Mr.Big as the moderator who can very well trash almost all the shitposts and is one of the very active silent moderators present in this forum.

And also I don't think being a Mod will give us that kind of credit besides you were already a reputed and trusted member if you were picked to do the task
Being a moderator will earn you more hate from shitposters, bounty hunters and trolls  Cheesy and some even need to work hard like Halab who is currently moderating the French subforum really well. French, Russian and Indonesian are one among the very active local communities present here along with Philippines.

Moderator position is simply being given to users whose already a trusted member here with enough contributions to the forum, I doubt it will be random pick LoL. So basically it can't be like that.
I guess this might be true for English boards but not for local boards. AFAIK choosing mods for local boards is a random pick based on reports. A good example for such a situation is when Halab was made a moderator when he was only a Member and was pretty new to the forum at that time. But the appointment was made solely since he was really good at reporting and nothing more. There were far  more trustworthy reputed members like LeGaulois, yogg and JohnUser from French sections FYI who were not appointed as a MOD.

Additionally, I get what your point here but considering not all user are willing to do the task for free.
True but we are gaining something from our signatures for posting, why don't we help a little to keep this forum clean?
