I tried the chat system out with johnr on crypptocopia, he was on windows, and I was on Linux, I came across a bug, where I couldn't see the messages, he could see mine on windows, but I couldn't see his. I also get a bug with the coins I stake not showing up in the transaction until I restart the client, I think this bug was mentioned a good few pages back. I figured I'd just wait till the fork and update, to get rid of the bugs. They are not major issues. |

Jamie does some podcasts for TorrentFreak He's been approached by our new Twitter guy, and he needs some guides on using vTorrent:  He'd be the one to get the word out, good find . Not sure you are aware, but the UK actually passed a new law while everyone was too busy talking about Trump. They slipped it under the radar. The government can now look at all your electronic communications, legally. No need to get search warrants or whatever. Phone, email, social media. The Investigatory Powers Bill is a new law that will give the UK police and security agencies massive powers to collect, analyse and look at our private communications and Internet use. The state does need surveillance powers to fight serious crime and terrorism but this law goes too far. Surveillance should be used against people who are suspected of a crime not the entire UK population.
Here are some of the most worrying parts of the Bill:
Internet Service Providers (ISPs) will be forced to create a record of the websites you visit and the apps you use and keep this data for a year. This information can be analysed without a warrant. The police only need to get internal sign off to look at this data. Government departments, like the Department of Work and Pensions, can look at this data too.
Your communications can be hoovered up by the security services. Tapping undersea fibre-optic cables, GCHQ can record and keep all passing Internet traffic for several days, and metadata for six months.
The police and intelligence agencies can hack into your phone or computer. You don’t have to be suspected of a crime for this to happen. Hacking should be a last resort. It carries massive security risks, which should always be taken into account.
The security services can easily access any public or private database – whether it’s held by DVLA or Tesco. They have admitted that the vast majority of this data will be about people who are not suspected of any crimes. However, through a very broad warrant, they can analyse this information for six months at a time. We are calling for these powers to be limited.

Someone asked me on cryptocopia if the torrent data would be encrypted between users, I sad I imagine so, but I wasn't 100% on this, anyone here care to enlighten me? It would make sense to encrypt traffic between peers and seeds.

Another question. If vtorrent will be free to Use what will make its currency gain value then? Slack is a big no no, they just changed their terms of service, the people who set up the channel are now liable for what content gets posted. Not ideal for a torrent channel, just wait till we get group chat through the client Yes it will be free to use just like any other client. As for what gives it value? Off the top of my head, how about selling access to private trackers. Selling access to to rare files or 1080, 4K files or access to that nasty pig porn. that's the problem with slack so its nice to create a group who's interest is to help developing vtorrent and bring more and more investors as we knew that this project is really a big one to watched out just needed more and more exposures and for sure it will bring more profits value will dictate itself. We are currently at aprox 10.814.000 coins. How long Will take to reach 20mil as final coin count? If I recall correctly, like 100 years or some ridiculous number. Not anytime soon at least. coin inflation is never gonna be a problem. |

Nice developments. Btw buy orders in amount of VTR now are higher than sell orders of available VTR. Only 778929 VTR available as sell orders; which is like 6-7% of the currency. Also RAWX, the only other exchange is going to close down on December 15th or so ( https://rawx.io/en/news/future-of-rawx/) I noticed this earlier, we should see a positive price movement soon. I've also noticed every few days someone sells a large chunk of coins to them selves trying to get others to dump, you notice this too? |

So, I've been digging around at what might be available at some point next year and the future looks bright, so bright you might want to get some shades: Probably still a bit of development required, then forking, but Tor and I2P support will be a HUGE deal for use within the vTorrent client. JoyStream will just get left so far behind:  Then there is the potential for group and private chat groups. No need to worry about joining slack groups, vTorrent/groups/whatcd  Really can't wait for PoSV3 and beyond. Group chat will make vTorrent so much ore useful for sharing private torrents, couple this with tor and I2P, then what.cd might of still be live if they had this. Another good post coins. I really can't see the price staying this low for much longer. |

Just to let everyone know, me Will and Mo met with the investor and secured funding for development and we are currently in the process of handing the coins over. We will get the investor to put something on one of his business' web sites saying that he is funding the project, this should put you minds at ease, as there are too many scams in crypto.
Good things ahead for brit, Will7iam will be releasing a roadmap soon, that should give you guys a more detailed view of where Will wants to take Brit.
Thanks to everyone that has stuck buy this project, I've always thought it has potential, now me have an opportunity to find out just how much.

No surprise there, torrents are getting ass raped left, right and center. You told me that you thought the marketcap of this coin when the client is released could goto 100M, i'm afraid i'd have to disagree due to the GIGANTIC user base possible for VTR, i'd have to say that after a year or two of the release this could go to closer to ETH's marketcap of $1B. Torrents on the blockchain are desperately needed. |
