Extremely poor form.
I totally agree, a lot of new investors/potential supporters got fucked in the ass yesterday. Very poor form indeed. As someone who has been holding/following for nearly 1 year, I'm upset at the tactics used yesterday. Shame on everyone involved.

There was a countdown... What was that countdown to? Yet another botched release?
I was expecting a release today, all I saw was a pump and dump.
|
|
|
Seems like a lot of people thought price would go up even more and then some people dumped and then they just panic sold everything. I guess we have a few happy new owners of Silkcoin atm.
Yup it still needs to stabilize. Buy support will return slowly and we will go from there. We are lucky that the coin is old so that pump and dump can not hijack the coin and leave it battered to a pulp. These dumps are to be expected i guess, long time holders might want to have their investments recovered or quick cash is made on these levels. The order books were thin but the volumes that have been dumped weren't that great, now the message needs to sink in and we are good to go! I bet you dumped at 2400, good job to everyone who hyped this coin.

Looks like a few people here pumped and dumped on you.

current price 1100 sat.
No release, market reacts.
How many people thought silk wallet was going to be out today?

Price is creeping up nicely, anyone care to make a prediction for this time next week?
I'm gonna go for 5000 Sat.
5000 is too low for a crypto of this magnitude. We can can hit some historic highs on this one when all is said, and done. EDIT: oh, you said by next week. Well, that's a pretty bold statement, but anything can happen in the crypto world the word gets out. 5K isn't bold if the software is good. We'll have to test it first, I have a feeling it will be good.

Looks like they don't realise that Brit already exists. Tell the House of Lords to ask Bank of England they can buy some Brit off the sell wall on C-cex. There's even a link to an IBT interview I did in the article, but they didn't even mention us in the post.. Silly buggers That's why I thought they wernt aware of brit, no mention of us.

I will answer more questions on Sunday, I'm off to a music festival for the weekend.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the investor is my employer, a very successful businessman by the name of Dr Daryl Hamilton Wallis. I approached him with the idea of investing in Britcoin several months ago, he seemed keen, and after several meetings with Will, myself, MoGreen, his development and finance team, he agreed to fund Brit, the funding will be £12K for a 6 month period as a trial, it could lead to more funding depending on how successful the project is. Here is a link to one of Dr Daryl Wallis's business sites: http://fields-group.com/Thanks for the info. If Mr Wallis receives his 10m coins, each of them will have cost 241 satoshis at current BTC/GBP rates, supposing the £12k is all he is putting in. Just thought I'd put that out there for price discovery. Given you've involved his company in this deal as you outlined, is this now a company driven project? That is, are they going to actually develop or outsource the development of the coin from within the business? Does Mr Wallis want to get involved or just sit back and watch? Do they have any experience in crypto? BTW, holding almost half of the supply instantly makes this coin insecure if he chooses to stake as the other 50% are not going to all be staking, so he will easily be over 51% of staking power and could decide to go off on his own chain if things aren't working out as he wants. I can't help feel this is slightly mad. But hey, like you say, it's dead anyway, might aswell try something. I can't help feel the finer details could be ironed out a little. One thing that seems sorely lacking is the lack of foresight for future investor confidence knowing the distribution is about as inbalanced as any crypto has ever been. Unless the 10m includes bounties, giveaways, and indeed payment for services to help the coin? I work in construction, I have been working on Daryl's mansion for the last 18 months, I approached Daryl about Britcoin as I knew that he owns several successful IT businesses and pitched Brit to him. His team will be made available to Brit as and when they are needed, but Will and MoGreen will be taking the lead over the next six months, Daryl's team are new to crypto and are very excited about the whole crypto sphere. No one person would own such a large amount of coins, as it would be too much of a security risk, the coins would be shared amongst everyone involved on Daryl's side.

Dear Britcoin community,
Hello and thanks for your patience with this project so far.
We have an multi-millionaire investor who is ready to invest at least GBP 12K into Britcoin development over the next six months, but he wants a substantial portion of the coin supply, like 10 million BRIT. We’d increase the coin supply limit by about that amount too, to keep people staking. He’ll invest more in the future, if he sees his BRIT holdings increase in value.
There don't seem to be many BRIT available for sale, so we'd have to mint new ones by hard-forking the coin to have those extra coins in a certain address, for instance.
Our thoughts are that this is not quite as bad as the government printing extra money to bail out the banks, as you can fork the code and blockchain if you really don't like it.
We think that BRIT can do really well with some funds behind it. The coin's not really suitable for its intended purpose without decent mobile wallets, ongoing development, a smooth and easy-to-use UI, anon features (coin mixing), and places to spend it. Britcoin needs more than bug fixes and security updates to reach its full, world-changing potential.
I will also say that this investor has so far ponied up the dosh to get us on C-Cex and to get us onto the vote list on Cryptopia.
We haven't heard from any other potential investors, but if they are out there then do let us know ASAP.
The investor would be most pleased if we could fork another 10M coins, and we want him to be happy so that he becomes involved with the coin and wants to see it succeed. It’s not only money — He has development, marketing, legal people too, who can help out if need be. Though there would be more BRIT in circulation, with money funnelled into the project and access to more expertise, we all could see our coins increase in value.
Thoughts?
I'm all in for bringing momentum in this project. Sure, a hardfork is a drastic measure but Britcoin in its current state needs a bold plan to get back on track. I'd say do it. Any action is still better than no action and it looks like the people who want to resurrect this coin are really dedicated. Good job lads Thanks mate, I've always liked and believed in the concept of a British crypto, I think with some financial clout Brit could do well, it's either we fork it or brit will die a slow painful death without any funds, as no one is willing to pay the amount of money needed to get this coin where it needs to be. I'm hoping we can get a 90% consensus from the current holders, of course there will be the purists who will be be against the fork, I hope they will come round in time. I know we will be watering down the supply, personally I'd rather have half of something that has potential than the whole of something that isn't going to go anywhere.
