I don't think this Dev lies. Its hard to tell for sure (especially after so much scams going on around), but he leaves an impression of decent developer, which has too little time to work on the project, but doesn't want to admit that and abandon the project at all, so wants to keep it is some "hibernated state" until he (magically) has more time to work on this.

@vtorrent: please be more open and honest with the community. We all understand there are a lot of things except crypto, and you have real life. But if you are serious about this project, remember the project is public, people spend their time, hashpower amd money on this, so you have some obligations toward them. When you tell "more news coming soon", give the dates! Your current behavior makes you look as scammer, while I am sure you are not!

And have one thing in mind: if you procrastinate longer, this idea (torrents in blockchain) will be implemented by someone else. Nobody will respect the fact that you were first to make a coin on this, if you don't do anything, others will do!

I hope you are right, but I am afraid you are wrong.
Dev, see you got a vote of confidence and all you do is keeping silent. Votes of confidence deserve attention.

I am still working on this project daily.

Since our new client is a major upgrade from the first version, both internal and front ends, lots of testing needs to be done before release.

I promise it will be worth the wait.

Regards,

vTorrent

We've waited this long, I hope it's worth the wait. Smiley

Guys please remember to stake some of your coins to strengthen the network Smiley

Dev i'm trying to compile the wallet using linux mint 17.1 but I get the following errors when I run qmake and make:

Code:
Aspire-X3200 fibre-master # qmake
Project MESSAGE: Building with QRCode support
Project MESSAGE: Building with UPNP support

How do I install the dependencies libleveldb.a libmemenv.a?

Thanks.

# chmod +x leveldb/build_detect_platform

It's compiling now, cheers.

Edit: It built the executable file in the source folder, but when I click on it I get the wallet splash screen for 1 second then it just disappears? and the wallet won't load. Strange error.

Hopefully if bitPesa gets any traction, it would be a lot easier for the West Africans to start to use the Kobo network.

What are your plans to introduce this system into Africa? (not an easy task).

-----------------------------------------------UPDATE-----------------------------------------------

Fibre will be leaving the Blocknet Project.

It is with great regret that I have to inform you Fibre is leaving the Blocknet project. This decision was not easy to make, the reasons being community/investor demand and a change of direction for Fibre in 2015. My opinion of Blocknet has not changed, it will one day be a very successful project. However, I have a duty to look after the interest of our investors and my personal opinion cannot override my decision making for Fibre.

I have built a great working relationships with some of the guys involved and I wish Blocknet and all participating coins all the best in future.

Regards,

Killakem

----We had a great 2014, 2015 is the year Fibre will hit its true potential----

While we're disappointed to hear this news, we respect Killakem's decision and the way in which he has conducted himself.

It is, in my opinion, a lamentable fact that holders of a coin are able to influence the strategic partnerships it maintains - and often against the intentions of the core team. We have witnessed this in the run-up to the Blocknet's ITO, with SDC. We are witnessing it again.

That said, let me underline the change in Fibre's relation to the Blocknet:

- Fibre is still able, at any point and for free - to become Blocknet-enabled.

- Any other developer can, at any point, create a Blocknet-enabled Fibre wallet or app. (Github)

- Fibre no longer participates in the weekly running of the Blocknet, and they no longer have a say in its development.

We welcome Fibre's continued participation on Slack and on Bitcointalk. The Blocknet was created for all crypto and is an open framework. There is no "us vs. them" for the Blocknet.

We wish you all the best.

I like the way you conduct yourself sir.

@GlitterRush, of course you can sell your Kobo at anytime, at the prices people are willing to buy it at the same time. On bittrex you can immediatly sell 1000 kobo for 161 sats each currently.

i cant sell it! it will go to 1sat

You should dump all your coins, as you have no faith, gimme a few mins to put up a buy order first Smiley

When are the new developers going to make a new ANN forum thread for Britcoin?

I don't know, it was supposed to be two weeks ago.

Hope it will be soon.

Here's the last tweet, dated the second of March: https://twitter.com/BritCoinUK/status/572484697407676417

Just out of curiosity, did anyone dump their Britcoins to the address in your sig? Smiley

What are you smoking? He's doing a fine job, I’m very happy with the progress.
