761  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Differences between wallet.dat file back up from different time on: July 08, 2021, 04:47:07 AM
What’s the difference if I have my wallet.dat file back up from 2020 for instances and a back up from 2021? If I'm correct, I'm still able to recover my all fund received till now from the 2020 back up file. What will I miss if I use the 2020 back up file for recovering the wallet? This is something I'm little knowledged; in fact I'm comfused.
762  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is this Phishing or not? on: July 08, 2021, 04:32:56 AM
If the url is the exact one you are looking for browse, then it’s certainly not a phishing attempt. In case of phishing, you will see a same page as of your desired website but different url. For example, for a phishing attempt to steal your password on facebook would require you to enter your facebook email and password on a page which is exactly the same page of original facebook but the url will be different.
In this case, they don't have the SSL certificate. It’s risky to enter credentials here though. Your data isn't secured in such case.

Whether this itself is a fake website or not I can not tell.
Earnbet is a legit site operating here from 2019- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5103576.0

Edit- They have SSL certificate, I just have checked and the link shared by user is also the original one. Not sure why it's saying privacy error.
763  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where did my money go? on: July 08, 2021, 03:38:20 AM
I invested $350 in BTC the next day my portfolio was $0. This was due to the recent crash in BTC. The amount of BTC purchased was still there but the dollar value vanished. Then when BTC started rising the dollar started coming up minimally. My question is, as at when my portfolio was zero, where did my money go? And when it started adding again, where was it coming from?
Thanks!
Did you buy BTC or BTC future? Or any other BTCBULL/BEAR kinda leverage token? If so, it’s possible that your amount got devalued hugely and now with the price changes, it’s acting accordingly. Still, your thread is not clear at all. Share about the platform you used to purchase (if you have no issue sharing); at least someone can share if something bug happened in that particular platform.
764  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where did my money go? on: July 07, 2021, 08:24:51 PM
In which platform have you purchased BTC? Where you have stored your BTC; which wallet you have used to store the BTC? Please add more information, otherwise, no one will be able to help you find out the problem you had.
765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 07, 2021, 07:39:14 PM
Anyone have a bet on who scores first goal? ill bet most had England.
I was in hurry and didn’t place bet on that. If I were to, I would certainly go with England LOL. But I had both team to score and I was confused about Denmark to score but they already did. Seems I'm going to win the first one. And if England wins, probably the second one too  Cheesy
766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 07, 2021, 07:27:19 PM
I have bet placed on both team to score @2.85, total goal over 3 @5.75
Didn’t check what other bookies are offering. Usually compare odds and pick the highest one.
England seem to get a bit slow? Denmark is improving their position. Hope we will see goal flooding at 2nd half  Cheesy

It's going to be a very interesting match and I'm really enjoying this ongoing match, and I smell a win for Denmark. Grin
I don’t think it’s happening. England will win at the end although both teams are having equally performance so far. 3 shots and 1 on target for both team with almost same ball possession.

Edit- Denmark 1
767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [CONMEBOL] Copa America 2021 Discussion Thread on: July 05, 2021, 06:23:05 PM
Worth taking a risk for Peru? The odd seems good although in the first round, Brazil had a 4-0 win over Peru. But it’s Semi final and we may see some unexpected event. I'm probably going for Peru to win and both team to score; not sure about the first one though.
Don't you think it’s too much underestimating? Now I got remembered the PSG vs Man U match on last year.

768  Other / Meta / Re: Question for admins: Add one more post in my thread maybe? on: July 05, 2021, 06:04:28 PM
For Lauda's post, it looks like an edit directly in the DB (but I could be wrong), so don't expect anything.
That's subjective to censorship  Cheesy I guess. Maybe I'm going off topic. Who has access to DB? Is it only theymos and/or cyrus too? Or any other global moderator?
If theymos has access to it, I doubt he would change anything now as this is not a MUST doing, IMO; Lauda was something else though  Grin
769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Are you a gambler? on: July 05, 2021, 05:45:49 PM
There are a lot of people posting here. In most of threads related to sportsbetting, most user just discuss about the match, how player performed, how they could perform etc but very few person discuss about odds, chances of winning a team and other factors related to bet.
Is it possible that most people only discuss here to fulfill their signature requirement? In my case, I don’t play games at casino. I used to play back in the day but not anymore while I'm still having sportsbet on most of the matches.
Be honest and share about you whether you post only for your signature requirement or you post because you are involved in gambling & you want to know or share knowledge.
770  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hardware wallet for altcoins on: July 05, 2021, 05:32:52 PM
Thanks for the explanation. I thought I couldn’t use that crypto with Ledger. Is it risky to use a 3rd party app for my ledger? If I'm using myetherwallet for example, I have to share my private key with them, isn’t it? If it is, I guess that's risky.

As of others check also prokey or keepkey.

They support less coin then Ledger I guess. I had a quick check with keepkey and they listed only a sum of 50 coins if I'm correct.
771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $WHACKD - RIP John McAfee on: July 05, 2021, 04:46:36 PM
What I can see is some DEX trade on uniswap which makes no sense. I don't know what it can be called technically; one can easily manipulate the buy/sell volume there. If you yourself are buying/selling, no one will know. It's very possible that you are shilling this shit here and trying to sell your big bag. I doubt all the transactions are done by you. DEX transactions can be faked. C'mon dude. Don't shill you shit here.
772  Other / Beginners & Help / Hardware wallet for altcoins on: July 05, 2021, 04:37:33 PM
Most of the hardware wallets out there have limited support for altcoins. Especially if you are looking for holding a shitcoin, you will have no hardware wallet to hold. Please, don't say without bitcoin, every coin is a shitcoin. I know what I'm talking about.
Which hardware wallet supports the most altcoins? I am aware of Ledger and Trezor. What are some other hardware wallets which I can check out?
On ledger, I can see certain cryptos are not supported on Ledger Live. What does that mean even?
773  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If your country does not allow the use of Bitcoin, what would you do? on: July 05, 2021, 04:16:37 PM
It's up to you if you are mining personally with one or two devices but if you are planning bigger; creating a mining farm, you must switch to a country where mining is legal. There are few countries where mining is totally illegal and so does the usage of bitcoin. There's a difference between prohibited and not legal tender. If it's prohibited in your region, I guess you would rather stay away from it.
774  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Make sure you get legit bitcoin and its wallets, resources on: July 04, 2021, 05:25:21 PM
I thought you were talking about bitcoin mixers and how people can stay away from tainted coins LOL.
There have been a lot of newbies scammed by this shit trick but luckily for some reason, it's decreasing. I can't remember when last time I have seen such a complaint here while back in the day, I used to see a few complaints on this every week even.
775  Other / Meta / Re: Is it necessary to set up a separate TOKEN sub-section on: July 04, 2021, 05:17:26 PM
People would be interested to have two different sections if they didn't exist because tokens and coins serve different purposes and come with different natures. It's certainly better to keep both in different sections as it's convenient to distinguish between an ANN of a coin and a token. Nevertheless, if you don't want to see token section or any other section, you can put the section on ignore list so that you don't have to see them anymore.
776  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Telegram scammers wasting time and piss off on: July 04, 2021, 05:07:23 PM
Sad.
If they don't have an account with bitcointalk forum, I guess it's better not to employ them with upfront payment at all. Telegram is the said heaven for the scammers. A few weeks ago, I was inactive here due to setting up my new business. The scammer tried to take the chance by impersonating me.
How do you know that the address is from an exchange? I have tied to look whether it is or not but I couldn't find any info there.
777  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance P2P on: July 04, 2021, 05:00:22 PM
Apart from what above said, you have to complete identity verification; since you are using VPN, I doubt you could be able to verify. After successfully KYC verification, AFAIK, I guess you have to apply for being a merchant/agent of Binance p2p; After that, if you are accepted, you can sell your coins. I can be worng. please correct me if so.
778  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for trusted international translators on: July 04, 2021, 04:36:28 PM
What languages are you looking for? If it's Hindi, please PM me here or through telegram @RapTarX
Please mention what are you paying with? If it's BTC, ETH, or any other major coins, I would love applying otherwise, if you are paying with NFT or coins which aren't listed in Binance, I'm not applying here.
779  Economy / Reputation / Re: Forum made Legendary Member - PrimeNumber7 on: July 03, 2021, 06:25:09 PM
Congratulation PN7. You did it too early; within two years only! Are you the only one to reach the Legendary on such short time? Your activity is still pretty low than the recent Legendary members activity.
Congrats, anyway.
780  Economy / Reputation / Re: Celebration of 4 years forum membership and advices. on: July 03, 2021, 08:10:49 AM
Congrats, you have reached the Legendary status too which I didn't notice even. You have been here for a long time. I appreciate your volunteer projects. Keep up, mate.

anyway i have been in this forum since 2014 but still hero member  Cry
You are not active enough. Otherwise, you would have been a Legendary member before the merit system introduced. You are still lacking of both activities and merits.
