761  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitstamp: Should we be worried about it being shut down? on: July 25, 2013, 02:19:24 PM
These guys are scammers. Idiotic kids with css skills learning entrepreneurship on your teeth.

Good luck.

Given that BitStamp's matching engine is a bit crappy, I have yet to see a scam accusation against them that is substantiated by evidence.

And I believe that you and Hazek know each other in person. So if you call BitStamp a scam please provide evidence. Otherwise it's just a quarrel amongst two businessmen.

Eurotrash: I don't get the pic even though I'm quoted above it! Can you please explain it for me Smiley

Picture taken from an airline website. There are two lanes. The fast one is for people with priority check in.

NB does not mean I believe that "5 digit+ are being given priority over the rest" talk.
763  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: July 24, 2013, 11:35:51 PM
I had a total of 5 digit amount that did not clear when initiated mid June. Earliest was June 13th. I had to cancel to get off of gox via BTC.

This was only less than a week ago.

Actions speak louder than anything they say. Inactions also say a lot as well.

And your actions are a result of your impatience. But why still crying? You've made your decision and have got your money or not?

[14:45] <@MagicalTux> right now we're giving priority to larger transfers
[14:45] <racerx> please define "larger"
[14:46] <@MagicalTux> 5 digits or more

765  Economy / Exchanges / Re: mtgox.com reliable? on: July 24, 2013, 12:09:08 PM
Why not wire the $10k to bitstamp and buy there, better price for ya, and no delays on deposit (I made a deposit monday and it credited today).

yeah i am trying to get verified.

they rejected my attempt because they couldnt find my name on my ID.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

what can I say, it seems that at least they look at those IDs so it kinda vouches for them doing their homework.
Try and send them also a picture with a nice red square identifying where your name is. And an explanation as well.
766  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 0.25 BTC Bounty - Show me a Mt Gox USD Withdrawal :) on: July 24, 2013, 11:43:19 AM
The strategy of "paying some and leaving most waiting" was used in the past by some (in)famous bitcoin businesses prior to disappearing. Speculating on as to why one business would do so: to keep their creditors' hopes and buy themselves time.

I hope MtGox are not turning into selective scammers - although evidence so far seems to say otherwise. Please keep posting of any successes in this thread.
767  Economy / Speculation / Re: The mother of all traps? on: July 19, 2013, 03:00:57 PM
So far the mother of all traps is "BUY at $266".

It was "BUY at $32".

In the next year I suspect it will be "BUY at $500 to $1000".

Dude I was missing you.
A big buy happens, price shoots up 8% and here you are!

Thanks. In a way you're good for the mood. Smiley
768  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: THE TRUTH: Can someone withdraw fiat money from MTGOX? on: July 19, 2013, 10:55:07 AM
But as Gox Bitcoin.de operates in a normal country (Japan/Germany) with an serious judiciary that respect the rights of everyone.

I'm very skeptical because of BTCe in the long term. They are in Russia. This is an authoritarian state like the U.S. or China. While you're very "free" they beat the crap out of you if you get the wrong people in the way. Only to my mind but I do not trade in countries where I would not even go on vacation. I can not expect a reliable trading platform in such a country. Thus actually only remains Bitstamp. Which are at least in the European Union.

The best thing would be an exchange in Switzerland. That would be really cool.  Cheesy

+1 in regards to your opinion of the countries. Fully agree.

Re: Switzerland... a couple of months ago I was in Zurich at a bitcoin meetup. One of the attendees said he had tried to start an exchange by setting up a company account with a local bank - but decided to stop operations after being questioned by local police in regards to receiving 4 flagged transactions from stolen funds.

before alleged SEPA withdrawal successful:

And just in case - should Gox ever pay all pending withdrawals without scamming anyone, I'll bump this thread and make public amend.

I'll bump this thread and make public amend.

Please do not change.

Yesterday:

I receive a SEPA Withdrawal of 950€ today.

I never would post details to this forum. And a picture in which almost everything shown grayed proves nothing.

You know what else proves nothing?

770  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Did anyone get wire from mtgox after the suspension ended? on: July 18, 2013, 05:24:19 PM
PS there are already two threads about this. Too lazy to read?

Yes, thanks for reading and summarizing it for me! Smiley

p.s.
i can't find a thing using the search functions of this forum...

that's why you are a "Looser"  Tongue
771  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Please vote] Visualizing withdrawal queue on mtgox! on: July 18, 2013, 12:55:13 PM
Just 13 people voted. I'm confused. Why so few people want to know the current progress with their widrawals?

Because nobody believes this feature request will ever be implemented.
Gox is a business not a no profit org.
Were I to be the most honest exchanger in the world I still would not release such information.
Because it attracts people with ill intentions for my business.
772  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Did anyone get wire from mtgox after the suspension ended? on: July 18, 2013, 12:49:13 PM
It's been about 15 days after they started doing wires again and  i still haven't got my wire which was requested before the suspension.
Did anyone get a USD wire at all from them in the last 15 days?

No USD. Only a SEPA user claims he just received funds from June https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=179586.msg2754572#msg2754572

Although others claim they re waiting since April.

PS there are already two threads about this. Too lazy to read?

773  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: DO you think RIPPLE HAS A BRIGHT FUTURE ?? on: July 18, 2013, 11:09:21 AM
Is the rippleUSD on Bitcoin Charts the ripple system?

http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/currency/USD.html

173 BTC traded in the last 30 days is not very much...

Use ripplecharts.com

although XRP value is pretty much sinking to the ground atm.
774  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 0.25 BTC Bounty - Show me a Mt Gox USD Withdrawal :) on: July 18, 2013, 07:46:06 AM
Option 2) They stall/delay/lie over the period of several months and their market share slowly disperses to other exchanges.  Users slowly get used to the fact that Gox might be in trouble.  After a while people expect that Gox is in trouble.  By the time they finally announce their bankruptcy everyone will be expecting it, and while their will be a lot of any people still left in that 40% market share, and it will affect the price of Bitcoin as a whole, it will not be anywhere near the disastrous results of option 1.

Agree on this one, although to me it still feels like the "bargaining" stage of grief.

(disclaimer: at present I have no fiat nor coins in any exchange. Only coins in cold storage.)
775  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: July 18, 2013, 07:42:04 AM
We are expecting that your withdrawal should be processed with in a week since all the back logs of May and June 1 st week cleared now
Michael Support

Seems to be true. I did a withdrawal on the 4th of June. The status of the withdrawal changed today from "confirmed" to "pending". Typically the money is then credited two days later. Thus, the money should be in my bank account by Friday. I'll let you know.

And always remember: "Don't panic!"  Wink

P.S.: I had no contact with the Mt Gox support.

Pending is before confirmed!

Yup. By opening a support request you just lose your seat in the queue.

Hint: the queue is a lie. The cake is a lie. But there are chairs and the music is on.

Btw: has anyone noticed that the support reps are always named "Michael" and "Linda"? Seems like, made up names picked from a book for kids.
776  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGox. Bank tries to get back the Withdraws on: July 17, 2013, 12:37:05 PM
This could be just a fuck-up of the bank system.
Denial?

Yep, fear is approaching - then panic.

This + video of Roger Ver reading a script.
Strange thoughts in my head.

I sense a sudden urge to go home, open the cold storage wallet, send all BTC to Stamp and sell them all for fiat until the waters have calmed down.
Resisting to it so far.

 Shocked

Mt. Gox should be a Ripple gateway, then withdrawing USD would be no problem.

I wonder who would want MtGox USD IOUs right now, and what would be the exchange rate of those vs BitStamp USD IOUs.
778  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 0.25 BTC Bounty - Show me a Mt Gox USD Withdrawal :) on: July 16, 2013, 10:24:50 PM
Do we know how much it costs to be money transmitter by finCEN standards?
How much money at Dwolla?

Maybe gox is just borrowing that x$ it needs for license.

From customers' funds, you imply? And that would be OK for you?
779  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 0.25 BTC Bounty - Show me a Mt Gox USD Withdrawal :) on: July 16, 2013, 08:05:04 PM
Thank you.  And please call me all kinds of nasty names if this isn't all cleared up in 1 - 1.5 months.

No need. If your money is where your mouth is, you'll end up calling yourself those nasty names.
And just in case - should Gox ever pay all pending withdrawals without scamming anyone, I'll bump this thread and make public amend.
780  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 0.25 BTC Bounty - Show me a Mt Gox USD Withdrawal :) on: July 16, 2013, 07:44:12 PM
They are sending withdraws, they are just backlogged.  They are able to fulfill withdrawal requests, it will just take time.

And yet this very thread is about a total of 0.75 BTC unclaimed bounty vs showing a successful withdrawal.
You'd think someone would come up try and claim that money.

(sorry for condescending tone)

Right... a bounty for a withdrawal started less than 8 business days ago when MtGox said it would take several weeks to get caught on on the queue before they can deal with new requests.

(sorry for throwing reasonableness in your face)

Quoting for posterity.
