7641  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tom Lee, from bitcoin bull to bitcoin bagholder on: October 03, 2018, 03:03:40 AM
Just because someone bought from high prices doesn't make him a bagholder, he can drop his averages down from buying more which as a rich person he can definitely worth doing it and probably doing it plus being behind a project means being behind it on bad days as well as good days. I have been here for over 5 years now and I am supporting bitcoin from highs and lows and really don't care where the price is going and I will still be here.

If you are not supporting bitcoin because the price went down than you are not supporting bitcoin at all and just trying to make money for yourself. Which makes you the bad people bitcoin was invented against.

That is what a bagholder would say hehehe. Bagholders say things because they are so sure that their coin will make the new highs again even if the price today is saying that there is a possibility that it might not occur.

I might appear that I am teasing you, but we should be honest with ourselves. We are taking a risk, nothing is certain.

Bittrex's wallet is already available for deposits and withdrawals. That is our biggest exchange but we need more.

@smooth. I reckon the community funds can be used to pay an exchange to list Aeon. Would that be a possibility? Can we have the community to talk about it?
7643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS executives left Block.one, the company that developed the platform on: October 03, 2018, 02:01:40 AM
@o_e_l_e_o. No one should be shocked that there is collusion among Block Producers and large holders of EOS to trick the system. Intentionally or unintentionally, that was how earning the incentives were designed hehehe.

In any case, has this been happening in Bitshares and Steemit? What about the other delegated proof of stake platforms?
7644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 229: Khabib vs McGregor Prediction and Info Thread on: October 02, 2018, 02:52:00 AM
McGregor's only hope is if he takes this fight into his own game which he needs to be standing up right with both of his hands prepared to strike a KO, that is if he is smart to do so or if his body can, it also depends on how Khabib will play this out. McGregor is really the underdog here as his last match in the octagon being two years will really put him in a disadvantage in terms of experience and him having a big break in his pro mma career will also be a big factor as his fight IQ might not be as good as Khabib's. It would be a miracle to see him win this bout.

You are wrong. Khabib's fight IQ is very much lower than Conor's fight IQ. I am not telling you this because I like Conor more than Khabib, I like both of them. But Khabib is a 1 dimensional person, while Conor McGregor is a deep thinker and has studied more on the soft skills of martial arts and combat more than Khabib.

Conor is an open thinker and has used different techniques to improve his martial arts. An example of this is learning the movements of Ido Portal which as something that he was ridiculed in the MMA community. But it worked as witnessed in his fight versus Jose Aldo.
7645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: October 02, 2018, 02:39:15 AM
It is never beautiful to see an overtake that has come from a team order but if I go back in time I see Ferrari has used it much more often than Mercedes has so I only feel sorry for Valteri today.

I think Totto Wolf could have done well even if he did not give a team order because Lewis is in a comfortable position and he will win the Championship for sure. The few remaining race tracks favour Mercedes more than Ferrari so I think Totto Wolf could have done well even without a team order which I am sure have upset many persons today.

They will not take the risk of Sebastian closing in on Lewis's points because the lead is not big enough. Also, some of these formula 1 drivers are spoiled prima donnas. If they do not get what they want, they will threaten to leave or talk to the news media on how unhappy they are of their team.

Toto Wolff was smart to give the team order hehehehe.

In any case, in that situation if bitcoin has stablized, I reckon that there would be more dumping and/or more speculation in altcoins.

i think you meant more "pump and" dump in altcoins because so far it has always been like this. when bitcoin price stabilizes (even for a short period of time) the traders start looking elsewhere to make profit since it becomes hard to make profit in bitcoin that is moving 1% up and down. so this migration starts some pump and dumps in altcoins.
this is also the reason why altcoins are always dumped when bitcoin starts some sort of movement up or down. traders dump altcoins to come back to bitcoin.

No, not necessarily a pump and dump, but speculation can also refer to daytrading, swing trading and other types of more active trading strategies than longterm holding without conveying them as scams
7647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ether is about to rally strongly says Wall Street’s Tom Lee on: October 02, 2018, 02:18:36 AM
@jeffthebaker. That is a good interview, I hope you make more on developers. But you know us in this forum, we like to poke fun on analysts and the newsmakers hehehe. I know Tom Lee is a good analyst but do you agree on his $20k prediction by end of 2018 for bitcoin?

Also, I reckon no one read my comment about this news. EOS is surpressing Ethereum on the market but many of the replies are positive. Roll Eyes

Not exactly a "crypto developer" but I had one with Steve Wozniak from the convention as well: https://nulltx.com/exclusive-interview-apple-co-founder-steve-wozniak-talks-blockchain-reveals-upcoming-involvement-with-crypto-startup/

I think it's pretty evident that much of Ethereum's run up throughout 2017 was from people purchasing ETH to buy ICOs... Of course, this goes both ways, and EOS and others likely are creating a strong negative sell pressure on ETH. However, I do not think this is sufficient in keeping Ethereum down as it's still the #1 platform being used by mainstream corporations and Fortune 500s. Is it the best in terms of performance? Not necessarily. But similar to how Bitcoin is King of crypto 1.0, Ethereum is king of the 2.0 generation.

I personally see the $20k prediction as quite optimistic with just one quarter of the year remaining. However $20k will be shattered in the next run up- which will not take a very long period of time from start to finish. If we see new money entering by start of December I see this happening. With NSADAQ and Bakkt coming to fruition by end of year potentially, this is possible. Lee seems to put a pretty strong emphasis on the role of an ETF or other means for institutions to buy Bitcoin.

Is Ethereum really being used by mainstream corporations and Fortune 500 companies? I reckon if they are using it, it might only be experimental and they might have stopped experimenting in it by now hehehe.

In any case, if you are referring to the Ethereum Enterprise Alliance, I reckon they are building their own platform based on Ethereum's code?
7648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS executives left Block.one, the company that developed the platform on: October 02, 2018, 01:45:54 AM
Can someone who can read Chinese give a summarized translation of this article?

https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/xOUK8CwLCU4e9MFMaDFK7w

There is a serious allegation that the Chinese Block Producers are colluding and mutually voting for each other to establish their positions firmly as Block Producers in the EOS platform.

Might corruption among Block Producers be the reason why those early executives left EOS? Also, 12 Block Producers of 21 are controlled by the Chinese Block Producer community. The integrity of the platform might be questionable, I reckon.

A permissioned blockchain might be a good way for tracking in supply management chain systems, but there is the oracle problem. How do we trust that the information written by the supplier in the blockchain is 100% true?

Also, will there be an ICO? hehehehe

Thank you, smooth. Did you have some interactions with Bittrex's team when their Aeon node was under maintenance? What were their comments on Aeon?

I am looking at a new round of delistings and I am afraid our consistently low volume will make us delisted next. Sad

Also, how did Monero get listed in all those big exchanges? Maybe we should follow its footsteps hehehe.
7652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Motosport General discussion tread --- Formula1, MotoGP, WTCC, ETCC, DTM..... on: September 30, 2018, 01:57:32 AM
@swogerino. For some time? Are you implying that he has been treated badly for years now? I reckon it only started in the middle of the season of 2017 and then more so on this season. But he was not openly treated badly.

@slocker. Sebastian's championship battle is finished, I reckon. They have made many strategic mistakes, some of it driver mistakes, and wasted their good start of the season.

On this race, we should watch Charles Leclerc versus Esteban Ocon, 2 young drivers and with Max not very far behind hehehe. I predict Max will overtake both and finish in the top 5.
7653  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tom Lee, from bitcoin bull to bitcoin bagholder on: September 30, 2018, 01:44:57 AM
@rickadone. That is the common attitude in the cryptospace. But in the interest of discourse, how can we be that certain that bitcoin will go back to $20k, or how can we be certain that it will be bullish again? What if bitcoin now is in its fair price and will stay there for the next 50 years?
Well, in our life, nothing is guaranteed, and the thing we can always do is to be optimistic when at least you know there is still more possible room for growth. Take a look at how things have been over the years and the way adoption has been increasing, take a look at the fact that we keep seeing development every now and then and there could still be an opportunity for real life usage, hence, more demand, see the fact that the government can also see a way to want to regulate the space, and that brings more awareness, summing up all these means there is a possibility to see that happen, but you should know even at that, it does not mean we can see what exactly the future holds.

I was not asking about what kind of attitude the speculators should have in a deflated market. I was giving an imaginary situtation and wanted to know what your thoughts might be.

In any case, in that situation if bitcoin has stablized, I reckon that there would be more dumping and/or more speculation in altcoins.

7654  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-09-27] SEC Charges Bitcoin-Funded Securities Dealer and CEO (1Broker) on: September 29, 2018, 02:39:15 AM
It appears that founders or seed investors of exchanges who have the political connections can use that power to kill their competition starting in smaller exchanges.

Smaller American based exchanges should start forming their own lobby group, I reckon.
7655  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tom Lee, from bitcoin bull to bitcoin bagholder on: September 29, 2018, 02:16:53 AM
@STT. Agreed. But the investors and speculators who are presently bagholding bitcoin will not he very happy hehe. The end result might be more dumping or more speculation in altcoins to try to make up for fiat losses.
7656  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-09-27] SEC Charges Bitcoin-Funded Securities Dealer and CEO (1Broker) on: September 29, 2018, 12:48:04 AM
@gentlemand. Would exchanges in American soil be the next targets? I reckon Poloniex might be given a free pass because of their cooperation to be compliant with the SEC after Circle bought it. But what about Bittrex? Bittrex expanded in Malta where regulators are cryptospace friendly. Might that be a move to escape American regulators if they need to?

If the United States government, which does not have jurisdiction in Austria, can seize a small exchange's domain name. Can it also seize the domains of larger exchanges based on foreign soil like Binance?

@harizen. But does Manny not have unresolved problems with the IRS? I might be mistaken but that might be the reason why his last fights were made outside America.

7660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: EOS executives left Block.one, the company that developed the platform on: September 28, 2018, 03:20:45 AM
@btyco, @o_e_l_e_o. I reckon in this situation you should think like a speculator and take advantage of the knowledge that the EOS team have already sent all the ETH raised from their ICO to the exchanges.

https://diar.co/ico-treasury-balances/

Their plan might be, dump their ETH to hold bitcoin and USDT, use that to pump EOS and make it the 2nd most valuable cryptocoin.

I would also expect EOS founder Dan Larimer to dump his coins and leave the team within 2 years. He already did it twice before, when he founded Bitshares and Steemit.
