36HRS "IN PROGRESS"

no shipping info. yet.

maybe it's really coming from Saturn.~?
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 08, 2013, 09:18:06 PM
How is it that I paid on June 4, and people who paid on june 8, are already receiving their orders?!?

Because you didn't wash your hand when you last used the toilet.

I never wash my hands after using the toilet so that theory is out the window.

And there's the best reason to use the dry hands paper towels for opening the men's room exit door.

i thought i was the only one to do that as i exited....
783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 08, 2013, 07:49:57 AM
emmie, unfortunately, not everyone is speaking up on either forum nor irc....so i am just trying to gauge by squeezing out the little info i can.....
I appreciate that, it's just that I thought it was kind of dumb of people to post other things when OP asked for orders that have actually shipped.

And the reason there ain't much activity on KnC's forums may be because registration is still down.

And 'in progress' just now seems like a delay tactic....I have now been 'in progress' for 24 hrs and no shipping info. Maybe later today??
Mine was "In Progress" for 3 days before shipping friday. (Expected delivery today)

Emmie, what was your order #/pay date, please??
784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 08, 2013, 07:43:41 AM
And unfortunately, it looks like KNC's shipping queue/order #'s for shipping are all over the place.

hello. Best suggestion for a Gigabyte 7950 that has a fan going bad? I bought it in april, and have the box and all. I was thinking of buying a replacement fan and installing myself, but haven't found one online yet.
787  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 08, 2013, 04:50:14 AM
thanks dwdoc, helps give an idea on order status.
788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 08, 2013, 04:48:05 AM
If your miner isn't performing, make sure one or more of the fans hasn't fallen off the heatsink. They're just on there by friction mainly. They click in, but rough shipping can dislodge 'em.

hey anenome5, how did the unit make do going across the pond? i think you are west coast too?

wondering since my unit will be trekking to the west coast.
789  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 08, 2013, 04:04:38 AM
DID ANYONE RECEIVE KNC UNITS TODAY? AND IF SO, ORDER #/PAY DATE PLEASE??

trying to gauge more or less where knc is at as far as shipping queue/order #/pay date?? thanks.
790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 08, 2013, 04:00:37 AM
Don't be afraid, plenty of miners working just fine no reason to complain hence no post. I get 550 Gh/s with both units I received this morning with 0.93 updated; no crash no noise no heat no "fumes" nothing but hashing. IMPRESSIVE  Kiss Tongue Kiss

Kudos to KNC

turdit, mind letting us know what what your order #/ pay date??

Trying to get a feel as to where they are in the shipping queue.
791  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 08, 2013, 01:40:11 AM
My second hosted Jupiter is only mining at an effective hashrate of 300GH with massive HW failures. Bad chip? Insufficient cooling?
that sucks, especially when u the man with the quote
792  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 09:18:07 PM
Is that the highest order number we've seen with a status change yet, #222X?

I'm in the #26XX's...  Hopefully it changes status soon!

just to let you know, my status changed real early today from paid to in progress:

saturn   ordered and paid june 18th     no. 23xx
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 09:00:37 PM
So I'm worried about my KNC Jupiter that is arriving today blowing up while I'm not there. Has there been any consensus on how best to limit the risk? Which firmware version is best?

Cheers!

asaik the consensus is at the moment:

a.) dont use fw 0.90 as it may be damaging the boards
b.) dont use fw 0.92 as both fires occured while using 0.92

in terms of lid open or closed the jury is still out

Granted, GPUs are not ASICs, but from ALOT of testing that I did with GPUs an heat being heat no matter what, there is nothing like lid/case open. No matter how many fans, or extra HIGHER CFM fans, or how cold you keep a room, nothing compared to an open box.....some mentioned airflow and box/case open would mess up the flow of air but I say take the lid off unless you have a high probably of something landing inside the box like a flying cat or kids tossing stuff near your KNC rig
794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 11:45:18 AM
Heat rises. For those who plan to keep the lid on, perhaps tilt the end of the miner up 20 degrees and allow the heat to rise and flow out the back more naturually.

Air moves where you push it. It's better to keep the lid for the coordinated airflow.

*If* some thought went into airflow routing.  In this case, the exhaust from the front pair of coolers gets fed directly into the rear pair.  Taking the cover off helps.

so by this theory, saturns should inherently run cooler, right???
795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 11:40:24 AM
I'm wondering. Assuming you add/change fans ..then your rig fries or otherwise breaks. Won't you have invalidated the warranty ?

At this time with the default fans and the case lid on. Almost no air moves out the back.

I could not even put out a candle with the lack of air movement.

I would not run these units with that level of ventilation. I use the Avalon type fans to move the air on my Bitfury Kit setup as well.

Also consider that my ambient temp is under 63 degrees fahrenheit.

The only cooling that is happening at this time from what I can see is the processor itself. Everything else is just sitting in hot air.

If I had to contend with any ambient temp over 75 degrees fahrenheit, then I would expect these units to fail.

P.S. I have upgraded the firmware from v0.92 to v0.93

how's it liking the updated firmware?

anyone have actual temp. readings??

Nice to see you right up there with the first to get hardware Sitarow.

Ckolivas, I lov that, KFCminer....good one...ha hahaha lol

anyone receive their saturn yet? ANY PROBLEMS? hopefully not.

ANY SATURNS IN THE WILD YET???
800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 07, 2013, 10:03:07 AM
fires? I've only heard of the one burnt component ie flash/smoke is all....anyway just heard of the 1 board issue I  think?

with a metal case and the cover on away from clutter I'd suspect most of us will be fine imho..now a case less/open unit not so sure?

Searing

Wouldn't an open case be better for heat if not also airflow? I think I should open my case and put a big fan running on it

My recommendation is to upgrade your  unit to v0.92 the moment you get it.

Drops the watts at the wall from 860 to 580.

That itself will help save them from the magic smoke.

I thought some were saying v0.92 was the bbq version?Huh
