781  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if we sit at $310-$340 for 2 more years? on: January 19, 2016, 02:19:23 PM
If the price stayed at those levels for more than 2 years, it could mean a collpase in the Industry. If the mining industry couldn't keep up, Bitcoin would much probably be dead.

That's a lie, bitcoin was at 1200$ and went to 200$ and didn't die because mining regulates itself, if the price is too low the difficulty will eventually be low too, it doesn't really matter what the price is.
782  Other / Archival / Re: Do you think bitcoins will disapear or become unused? on: January 19, 2016, 01:04:39 PM
disappear i don't think, unused maybe, who can says that, we will see in the future but i'm a lot optimistic

I don't think that Bitcoin will become unused at least for the near future. A very big community are already using Bitcoin and invested huge amounts to make trades with this powerful crypto currency, so i think it will continue supporting it for the coming few years at least

Yes, there is no point which will make bitcoin disappear or unused. The large user base and requirement of bitcoin payment system in modern era will ensure the growth of bitcoin for many centuries. Bitcoin is the future and it has very bright upcoming days. So, stay with bitcoin for a better future.

Yes bitcoin's popularity is growing day by day. Very soon bitcoin would be the major alternative investments for many institutional and hedge investors. So, bitcoin will never become disappeared or unused.

Popularity and usage doesn't mean anything, what if in the near future a security breach is found and turns out that bitcoins are not secure anymore? Do you think popularity would matter? Of course not, everyone would stop using bitcoins, of course that can happen with other currencies as well.
783  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins - which do you like? on: January 19, 2016, 01:01:59 PM
There are many altcoins and some people just support one of them randomly because they happen to invest in that particular coin but I believe for a coin to be worth something it's important that the coin is useful in something, of course a supportive community and active devs is an important aspect but if the coin is plain useless if it doesn't bring anything new to the table, why would people use it? You have bitcoin and a few other stable altcoins, why would anyone pick your new altcoin if it has the same features and it's not being used more.
784  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: January 19, 2016, 12:56:19 PM
Man, I wish I'd known in 2009 what I know now.  Isn't that always the way?  I think I may have heard of bitcoin not long after then, but my memory is a bit hazy from that period lol.

But hindsight is 20/20 of course, so that's why I'm buying now.  There was another thread here about Warren Buffett and bitcoin, and it'd be great if someone like him did in fact endorse bitcoin.  The price would likely skyrocket.  News definitely seems to affect the price dramatically.

And if you told people that bitcoin would go to 1000$ they would say you were crazy, no one would believe you which happens with these kind of investments, only a few few people can see them. Right now investing in X thing might seem stupid but maybe in 3 years might not.
785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: January 19, 2016, 12:46:06 PM
it is not wrong in any ways, it gives people a lot of entertainment so its fine to play it if you like it and dont waste too much money that you need for a living, thats just my opinion
yes most gambling is entertainment to life. gambling part of life that can not be eliminated. I think that way.

Not everyone gambling is entertainment. You can get a lot of money from gambling and you can lose a lot too. Gambling is risky and if you want to serious in gambling dont try to play for entertainment
You must have a strategy to play it.

But is there any strategy when you gambling? There is none as far as I know, the best strategy is still martingale and that is a common strategy too. As long as you have enough balance to cover it I think that will not be a problem though. It is true that everyone want to get profit but I can say that the one that play it for entertainment that mostly get the jackpot thing because nothing to lose and there is no burden for him. Usually this kind of thing will be won by big whale

definitely, no strategy in gambling, martingale sometimes turns to martinfail and turn your balance into 1/2 after a consecutive losses specially if you are not lucky. fun and entertainment are really the grand prize,

Nope you are wrong, there is only one startegy in this world and that is only martingale, other is just something modified through martingale. Yes you can reach half from your balance but you still can get double from your balance or even triple it. This thing is called luck, so you need to set your balance and your base bet good enough before you start on martingale if not you will be in big trouble

No actually martingale is not the best strategy, not even close. Although there are better strategies you will still be on -EV. Here is the strategy example by Dooglus:

With 1 bitcoin:

  bet 0.5 at 33%
if you win, you get 99/33 = 3x, so you get 1.5 back, a profit of 1 - you've doubled your money

if you lose, bet the other 0.5 at 24.75%
if you win, you get 99/24.75 = 4x, so you get 2 back - you've doubled your money

the only way it goes wrong is if you lose both the 33% and the 24.75% - the chance of that is (1-0.33) * (1-0.2475) = 0.504175
  so the chance of success is 1 - 0.504175 = 0.495825 = 49.5825% - a fraction higher than 49.5
786  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if we sit at $310-$340 for 2 more years? on: January 19, 2016, 12:43:49 PM
This could be a possibility, but looking bad at the charts, it's very unlikely.
Bitcoin is a wild (volatile) currency. For some reason it can't stay at the same level for over 1 month, let alone 2 years.

In a way it's decided by what investors want to do with bitcoin. There is no way the prices we see are supply and demand...

How do you know it can't stay stable? It's not a bad thing for the price to be stable in the first place and if nothing relevant happens bitcoin can stay at 300-400 range easily through this year and it would actually be a good thing for bitcoin.

It's good to see the site getting more and more traffic which means better odds and possibilities.
789  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ore-Mine.org - first time Bitcoin Ponzi destroyed by government? on: January 17, 2016, 08:59:39 PM
The website was hosted in Russia it has nothing to do with the State of New York what so ever.
The main question is why the state of New York would seize ore-mine??  Are they doing illegal activities?...
Ecuamobi post explains all... Ore-mine admins & promoters should be ashamed and jailed!

Well they were doing illegal activities, ponzi schemes are considered illegal in most countries and specially USA, now I'm not sure if the domain or the guy behind the site lives in USA, otherwise why would the government be involved?
790  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ore-Mine.org - first time Bitcoin Ponzi destroyed by government on: January 16, 2016, 11:53:34 PM
Woo, what the hell, were they actually that big? People still participate in that kind of crap? I still find it pretty weird that the usa would actually do something about some ponzi using bitcoins
791  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening to BTC price? on: January 16, 2016, 11:48:39 PM
Central banks probably secretly buying but just when it drops... To soak up supply for a few yrs before ppl catch on and frontrun them and make them rich..

I doubt banks give a shit about bitcoin. The market cap is what, like 7 billion? That's nothing, even some multi billionaire guy could afford to buy all bitcoins, unless you know for sure banks are doing that don't spread false information.

You are right, even I don't believe banks being involved in the trading of BTC...
There are already some huge names who are involved in pumps and dumps, with many possessing more than 100,000 coins, so not possible here ATM...
Maybe, in the future, when BTC might gain some extraordinary values, I guess banks will participate of course...

Yep. 7 billion dollars for an average person may seem incredible but for banks or the government is nothing, hell, bill gates could buy all the bitcoins in the world if he wanted to. You are right, unless the price goes to 20k per bitcoin in a few months no one of the big guys care.
792  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Fundraising for abandoned animals in spain. on: January 16, 2016, 11:45:21 PM
Your cause is noble and I would like to help, however as you said people won't trust you here. First thing you should do is move this thread to another section, almost no one sees this one, maybe to off-topic since it doesn't really have much to do with bitcoins. I think you are allowed to post this, I'm not sure if it's considered begging, anyways can you pm me more info?

Holy shit, how did I not know about this before? 1.2k wins vs 200 losses seems amazing, how much profit have you made from all these games, maybe give us like an approximate number? I will start following your bets and see what happens in a month.
794  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening to BTC price? on: January 11, 2016, 01:27:15 PM

795  Economy / Speculation / Re: Recent price rise on: January 11, 2016, 01:24:54 PM
this is not a real increase, if you factor-in, the fact that we have already seen two times 480-500 value, this is nothing new

it's a returning to the previous point, you can begin to talk about a rise when we surpass 500

By that logic we would have to wait for an increase of 1000$ because bitcoin has already been there. What matters is the stability, we have good stability now, if it stays this way it's better than 50$ swings back and forth.
796  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is your gambling stategy? Are you risky, or do you prefer slow? on: January 08, 2016, 10:51:01 AM
I normally try to gamble a little after loosing a significant amount trading. I do it fast because I want high profit in a short time, in the end it doesn't really matter, slow or fast it ends up being the same if you play long enough.
797  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Need bitcoin game beta testers on: January 08, 2016, 10:41:44 AM
Stop posting here, he is trying to scam DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING. He was trying to do the same thing on the russian local section, I'm going to try to lock the thread by reporting it.
798  Other / Archival / Re: Do you think bitcoins will disapear or become unused? on: January 08, 2016, 10:37:48 AM
People are talking that bitcoin is a future money I doubt that it can happen that one day bitcoin will just be worthless.
After all we don't know what will happen when people will lose there bitcoin or some other things.
I am happy if bitcoin will survive 50 years that is enough for me.

I think it just depends on how many people will be using bitcoin
If nobody uses bitcoin then it will die out slowly
No people using bitcoin means that there's no market out there

No shit, if people don't use it ofc it would die... The question is why would people stop using it and it comes down to what new technologies will be implemented in the next few decades. You never know when something better, faster and safer than bitcoin will appear.
799  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is happening to BTC price? on: January 08, 2016, 10:32:16 AM
i would have done the same qustion when it was dumping, since 230 was never the true value of bitcoin

to answer your question, i can simply say, bitcoin is worth much more, 230 were like free bitcoin, you will remember this in 5-10 years when even 10k would be considered a cheap price

So many people saying that...
It's good to have faith but still, keep calm buddy. 10k for one btc is maybe a bit fucking crazy no?
I don't believe in long term btc for my on.

10k for one BTC might sound crazy today. But it's possible and I say give it a few more years and we might change to talk about bits when buying and paying with Bitcoin.
You don't have to believe in BTC for long term. Others are doing it, and that number will increase.
There guys out there, heavily invested in Bitcoin who believe it's value can reach 6 or 7 digits!!!

Bitcoin literally can not reach 7 digits in USD, because since even if all currencies in the entire world, were replaced by Bitcoin, then 1 Bitcoin would be worth around $500k in today's dollar.

you're basically saying that bitcoin can not surpass gold? cannot be greater than a marketcap of 6T?

What does gold have to do with a cryptocurrency anyways? There is no point in comparing the two. I woulnd't compare bitcoin to anything else because but other cryptos.
