81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My hardware store now accepts Bitcoin! on: September 11, 2021, 02:25:01 AM
That's actually a damn good move. 4 people using Bitcoin in your area means that there's actually a community there that uses Bitcoin over there. Have you considered using other payment methods or cryptocurrencies? It might open more options to the users over there for people who don't use Bitcoin.
82  Economy / Speculation / Re: Massive flash crash on: September 07, 2021, 10:03:59 PM
I Was expecting a correction in this period and actually happened, it was quite understandable after so many days of price pump, but I have to admit that I wasn't expecting such a massive crash (almost 20%).

I don't think it's a correction. The drop suddenly happen in just a few moments so there's probably some giant whale unloading a huge amount of Bitcoin to the market for profit making or for market manipulation.

There's a speculations that this that happened to send a statement to El Salvador president that Bitcoin is a dangerous volatile asset.

But damn, I didn't expect that price to suddenly go $43,000 and missed the chance to buy back at the price  Cry

Napaka interesting nito. Sa mga veterans dyan, recommend nyo paba mga newbies na sumali ngayon? Napansin ko kasi na halos doble ung bagsak ng presyo compared last week.

Profitable paba ung kitaan dito?

85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MrBeast now teaming with Coinbase to give away $100,000 in Bitcoin on Twitter! on: September 05, 2021, 04:10:53 PM
Along with teaming up to make a video, Coinbase is also now sponsoring a giveaway!  I'm guessing this means they received more attention from the video than they expected.

You can now reply to the below tweet using the hashtag #CoinBeastSweepstakes after you follow @MrBeast and @Coinbase for a chance to win $100,000 in BTC!

https://twitter.com/mrbeast/status/1433528712952229890?s=21

That's pretty much it!

Edit: Coinbase has also now officially announced the contest: https://twitter.com/coinbase/status/1433552622976331784?s=21

This is literally next level marketing. Their video was a huge success because of the entertainment value Mr. Beast put in it and with that, they are adding more fuel to the fire. Not to mention Mr. Beast is all over the world so having this promotion will really boost both Mr. Beast and Coinbase popularity in different demographics.
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter and Bitcoin on: September 05, 2021, 03:38:57 PM
there was a shocking news from Twitter recently about paying for sharing bitcoin tips for creating content. What do you think will happen to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies going forward in the network system.
https://news.bitcoin.com/twitter-rolling-out-bitcoin-tipping-feature/

This could very well be the catalyst for the further development of Lightning Network because we all know that the majority still doesn't know or doesn't really want anything to do with LN because of it's limited features. But still, having twitter using it will probably help with the boost in popularity and usage among the users in the market.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never judge a token by it's name, Dev aren't your friend on: September 05, 2021, 12:38:29 PM
I saw Cake at 0.5 and thought that was overrated, after all, a financial project called "Pancake" with a token called "Cake" couldn't be serious. I followed it for 1 month and when I saw it, it shot to 8 dollars, so I waited for it to fall and bought the 6. It was one of the best moves I made, but still, I ended up missing the timing, because it reached 40 dollars and I ended up selling it at 15, in that insane fall

Name has a pretty low significance when it comes to the popularity of the coin. It's all about the marketing. I haven't heard of Cake but I can tell that they are good with finding the right audience that led to that price increase. It's kind of a bummer that I'm late to the party.
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Is Nobody Talking About Crypto Staking on: September 01, 2021, 01:53:13 AM
Problem is you’re handing over custody of your crypto to third parties. You will likely be fine & nothing bad will happen but there’s a small chance they get hacked or go rogue. Your measly staking rewards don’t seem so good then.

I mean, that's not his point though. People could actually stake outside of third-party wallets and still makes a decent amount of money without even doing anything, except run the computer or a Raspberry Pi or something.
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase Sponsors New MrBeast YouTube Video! on: September 01, 2021, 01:43:48 AM
Watch it here now: https://youtu.be/zxYjTTXc-J8

That should also serve as some motivation for our soon to be launched Bitcointalk YouTube channel as what sponsors are achievable in the space! Go Coinbase! Great to see my favorite things coming together. This will no doubt spur a little adoption boost for the day.

I've watched the video and the advertisement of Coinbase was pretty decent. It's definitely a win-win for Mr. Beast and Coinbase since Mr. Beast is a giant in Youtube. Also, because of this video, he's going to be the talk of the town for a little while.

I haven't watched Mr. Beast for the past 10 months but this thread made me do it.
90  Economy / Economics / Re: What could make a hacker return stolen $600m crypto on: August 29, 2021, 06:26:15 AM
It's really hard to say. I noticed that after SlowMist, an investigative firm, found the identify of the hacker, including the email, the funds were returned immediately. That means the hacker got scared that he might get caught in that situation. Although, he was handed $500,000 as a rewarded and still refused to get it means he isn't really interested in money.

Him just wanting to exploit the flaws of the company as a white hacker is still the best scenario in my opinion.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dead Coins on: August 28, 2021, 04:32:36 PM
Do you hold any dead coins?

'Dead Coins refer to cryptocurrencies that have been abandoned, used as scam, their website is down, has no nodes, has wallet issues, doesn't have social updates, has low volume or developers have walked away from the project.'

How should we manage dead coins?

Just stop. A dead coin is a dead coin. It's basically doesn't have any use anymore, especially when it is abandoned by the devs. Even if the community tries to revive it, the chances of it taking off is almost non-existent because of how fast the market is moving and grading to a new and better products. I'd probably just forget about those dead coins. They aren't worth paying attention to.
92  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dream Bitcoin 100k on: August 28, 2021, 04:27:35 PM
When Bitcoin goes down from 80 to 29, it goes up and down there for a while. But now it is going up and down again. But 50k the moment it is fluctuating again. I have learned from some news outlets that many people have exchanged views that Bitcoin will cross 100k by the end of this year. I would like to know the opinion of the members of the forum.

What? Bitcoin never reached $80,000 yet. Anyway, those news and articles that you are seeing in the internet are just speculations and there's no guarantee that Bitcoin would reach $100,000. There's no doubt that Bitcoin could reach $100,000 in the future (because of how low the marketcap still is even in that price range) but we can't be sure when.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gas Fee Of BNB Is Increasing on: August 28, 2021, 04:03:25 AM
All eyes are on the BNB due to the increase in Ethereum's gas fee. Thinking about the beginning, it can be understood that the BNB's gas free is increasing day by day. Although I don't know the exact reason behind it, the curiosity is there.

BSC is just so popular these days, especially with the growth of new projects that is using the BSC network and some older projects integrating BSC network in their systems. Although, the fees of BSC is still pretty insignificant if you compare it to Ethereum. There's just an influx of new users. I think it will eventually lower down as time goes by. Maybe the devs will try to find a way for it.
94  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will its price start being stabilized? on: August 28, 2021, 03:56:31 AM
Take note that as time goes by, more and more Bitcoin would be lost forever and if you consider that, then Bitcoins price is unpredictable at all. There's a possibility that someday, there's only 1,000,000 Bitcoin left in circulation in the whole world. If that happens, could you imagine the price that we are going get at that time? It's pretty unimaginable for me.
95  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Addict on: August 28, 2021, 01:27:00 AM
Lately, I exhibited some character which to me is an addiction.

Whenever I close my eyes, I see the bitcoin logo and price just like the way it is on my device at first I thought it was normal and will fade away with time but it has persisted to this very moment while I was discussing with my other Bitcoin lovers they told me that now an addict.

So I would like to ask, is there anything like a Bitcoin addict if yes then please tell me how to become one, cause I will gladly get addicted to Bitcoin again, and again I will become a Bitcoin pro-addict if that is the case.

Will you get addicted to Bitcoin if that is possible?

I think you are probably using, trading, or thinking of Bitcoin so much that your brain is probably still reminiscing the experience and memories you have. It's pretty normal. It's not something so bad that you would need a psychiatrist. You should try to distract yourself away from Bitcoin for a while and try to fix it by doing something else because in the long run, it will affect your decision making and emotional status.
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: South African Man Loses $900,000 Worth Of BTC After Accidentally Deleting Keys on: August 27, 2021, 03:00:40 PM
https://www.newsbtc.com/news/bitcoin/man-loses-900000-worth-of-bitcoin/

I think if he offers an NSA grade data recovery outfit a couple of btc, that they'd recover it for him.
But then how can you trust that they won't say they couldn't do it went they actually did.

This is probably the saddest thing I've read on the forum today. I mean, it's not his fault because people make mistakes like this often, especially when you are really an early bird. Like who would expect Bitcoin to grow like this at that time? We really can't blame him for that. At least he had learned his lessons and still into cryptocurrency though. What's important is that he is aware about cryptocurrencies and is positive about it.
97  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin = 100k by December on: August 27, 2021, 02:34:32 PM
Can Bitcoin Still Make 100k by December?  Huh
When Bitcoin (BTC) reached its all-time high of $65,000 in April, it felt like the $100,000 mark was the next stop for the cryptocurrency. However, the following months brought along a change in market trend and the entire cryptocurrency market took a steep dive.
I read an article on Blockster with different opinions on the topic. Let's discuss, what do you think?
https://blockster.com/blockdesk/1411_can-bitcoin-still-make-100k-by-december-many-think-it-can

We've only seen Bitcoin go $60,000 this year so far which only took like 4 months, so there's a possibility that Bitcoin could reach $100,000 this year if something huge were to happen. I have no doubt that Bitcoin would reach $100,000 in the future so while we are still at $45,000+ price range, it's better to invest early.
98  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Monsta Infinite the new P2E game that can be cheaper alternative to Axie on: August 27, 2021, 08:32:20 AM
99  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What risks will you get in investing during the COVID-19 pandemic? on: August 27, 2021, 08:24:04 AM
Using digital currency in various virtual transactions has become commonplace Bitcoin is an example of a digital currency of popularity, Bitcoin is on the rise and is being talked about by people around the world, even now many people are trying to look at Bitcoin as a promising investment instrument, including during the pandemic but investing in Bitcoin when the corona outbreak occurs needs to be done with various considerations and maturity, the limited movement of people of course reduces income from many business sectors, both tourism, or food, so during this pandemic, people think a lot about investing and even carefully read market movements.

Then, is investing in cryptocurrency safe enough, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic?

What is your opinion about whether or not there is a risk involved in investing during the COVID-19 pandemic?

There's always a risk investing in anything, Even if there's a pandemic or not. Although, we are actually moving up because of how Digital the world has become. Everything related to technology and internet is evolving at an incredible rate and this probably helped cryptocurrency grow. If you think about it, even if there's a risk investing in cryptocurrencies, the bullish market is making up for that.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why should other countries did not accept Bitcoins? on: August 27, 2021, 05:02:34 AM
It's probably of how free Bitcoin is. You can actually use Bitcoin everywhere without the knowledge of the government. That way, scams and other illegal activities could be used anywhere. I think that's what one of the things the government wanted to prevent because they care about the money of the people. Though most of the time, they are most likely monitoring Bitcoin still, even if it is already banned because they know the potential of cryptocurrencies.
