81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Oil company willing to sell bitcoin ATMs to casino on: January 26, 2018, 02:19:34 AM
The company name is Chiron Refineries. Quickly after making this announcement, stock price increased by sixty percent. The company is active in the oil market, mainly in Africa, and is now willing to diversify and enter the crypto-currency market, with the motivation that "every casino needs a bitcoin ATM" (which I certainly agree with!).

82  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Advcash | a new "anonymous" bitcoin debit card [EUR & USD] on: January 26, 2018, 12:33:13 AM
payeer.com has been on the market for a while, looks like an interesting alternative. They deliver Mastercard / Visa, they even support ETH.
I know a friend of mine who has a card with them and it works fine. Anyone else here?
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin expense problem on: January 25, 2018, 10:26:15 AM
Welcome to the forum r00. Sadly not enough merchants accept bitcoin, and let's face it the big majority of holders bought bitcoin for speculation purpose. That being said, I have myself used bitcoin for one of my favorite hobbies (sports betting), it is easy to find website accepting payments in digital currency. Some others like to use bitcoin to play poker.
But I guess you are looking for online shops: then I recommend the service "spendabit", it's a search engine for things you can buy in bitcoin.

Thanks for the welcome, you were the first to welcome me.
I also thank you for your advice and your directions.
In this regard, if it is a chance to make money over time, why retail traders do not start to adopt Bitcoin? What blocks them? Is it a lack of trust and security towards the Bitcoin itself?

You are welcome. Pan Troglo gave a good reply above me, the fees of a standard bitcoin transaction are way too high right now to buy/sell everyday products with it. I would not mind buying a flight ticket with bitcoin, but buying a pack of beer would make no sense. Standard fee is around 10 USD right now (I believe) but went up to 30 USD last month.
Pan Troglo above me mentioned Lightning network, and he is totally right about that, Lightning network will allow transactions "off the chain" which should result in much faster and much quicker transactions.

Another reason why not many merchants accept bitcoin is the massive volatility of the price. Most merchants fear that. They could of course convert bitcoin to EUR or USD immediately, but this is not really convenient for them.

To earn bitcoin, you can join signature campaigns on this forum, you will need to post every week first until your rank gets up to Junior Member, then you can apply to signature campaigns and get paid per week (go to the "services" section of the forum).
I would not recommend trading for a newbie. If you want to try to earn bitcoin by placing bets on the sports you know well, just send me a Private message and I will help you out with this.
Best of luck.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning Network is the Killer Application for Bitcoin on: January 25, 2018, 07:28:15 AM
No brainer, transactions will benefit massively from Lightning network. I just hope bankers have not found a way to fractional reserve bitcoin.
Other question: how about the cost of opening and closing a channel? And if there is no route between your channel and the store, you have to open another one. And then you have to fund these channels.
I'm curious to see if this will work out...
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: France, Germany to make joint bitcoin regulation proposal at G20 summit on: January 25, 2018, 01:00:02 AM
After China, S Korea, India, now it's France and Germany. Won't be long before US jumps in too. Not necessarily a bad thing if it only targets illegal activities& scams. What do you guys think?
This was mentioned before, I believe the proposals will be that people can no longer sign up anonymously on some exchange platforms, every transactions will have to justified and saved. I wonder if people will still buy bitcoin if they don't feel as free as before.

Something else needs to be mentioned too, in this G20 summit, there are a few countries disagreeing with Germany and France so perhaps no agreement will be found (Malta, UK, Ireland all don't really get along with France/Germany and wish less strict policy towards crypto-currencies). Luxembourg and Cyprus also fear a negative impact on their economy. So I believe there will a harsh discussion but no agreement found (That is a personal opinion of course).
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]★ CryptoBnB★ Disrupting Home Rental Platform Powered By Blockchain ★ on: January 25, 2018, 12:51:36 AM
CryptoBNB gets into the market at the perfect time in my opinion, studies show the short-term rental business has been growing quite massively year after year (especially since 2016), some big potential here. CryptoBNB was also mentioned in some newspaper like express.co.uk > https://www.express.co.uk/finance/city/886434/cryptobnb-airbnb-alternative-blockchain-cryptocurrency-token-rental-travel

88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin and Ethereum's price related or not really? on: January 24, 2018, 10:19:46 AM
Hi folks.
Quickly asking a question no that easy to answer: do you believe for any reason that both prices could become unrelated in the future?
I do understand that most altcoins prices are very depending on Bitcoin, but how about Ethereum? Something like 80% of dApps and ICOs are dependent on Ethereum right now. I could see Bitcoin declining and in the meantime Ethereum rising because of all projects depending on it.

Thoughts?

Any (constructive) opinion welcome Smiley
89  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best sources for knowledge (Blockchain, Bitcoin etc.) on: January 24, 2018, 08:26:58 AM
Hi Tiglis,
This e-book is a good starting point > http://d28rh4a8wq0iu5.cloudfront.net/bitcointech/readings/princeton_bitcoin_book.pdf
it is 300 pages long, if you can read half of it I am sure you'll know more about blockchain and bitcoin than 99% of the forum  Wink
otherwise Youtube is a good alternative, I recommend the channel of Ivan On Tech (Swedish guy making very interesting videos).
90  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Advcash | a new "anonymous" bitcoin debit card [EUR & USD] on: January 24, 2018, 02:25:05 AM
You guys seem to have missed this:

"All plastic and virtual cards will be reissued for free after we implement the card platform from our new provider which is about to happen soon."

Let's wait then, and see, I'll write to the support today about this and see what they reply (which provider? Estimate date?).
For now, we have time to withdraw and find a back up solution in case we need one.
91  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin send and receive? on: January 23, 2018, 11:32:43 AM
Hi. What's your wallet? blockchain.info? If you have a blockchain wallet, to find your address to receive funds, just click on "receive" and copy the address (make sure when you paste that the address is identical because some virus can modify it). Once this address has been used to receive funds, blockchain.info will automatically create a new one, but nothing to worry your old addresses can still be used to receive funds.

To send bitcoin, you need to ask what is the bitcoin address of the recipient and click on "send" and enter the address, then you will see an option to choose your fees, to send a quick payment you can choose express delivery but the fee is expensive so it is better to select the standard fee. Payments should reach the recipient's account in a few hours if the network is not congested.
92  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why the fuck did Satoshi implement the 1 MB blocksize limit? on: January 23, 2018, 11:19:59 AM
Simple answer:

Satoshi never knew crypto will be this important.

Proof that NSA or CIA never created Bitcoin. They probabaly created Paypal or want Palpal like digital currencies?

It's several times I read the same answer on this topic, why would Satoshi Nakamoto create something that is not meant to be used worldwide by the mass? It's not like in today's economy Bitcoin has a big place anyway. Please read the original paper of Satoshi posted on page one.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency activities will be legal and tax free in Belarus on: January 23, 2018, 01:55:16 AM
is there a chance for foreigners to open bank account there? if yes maybe soon their gov will get more capital instead of borrowing from other countries.

Yes of course, country will benefit from this, hope other countries will follow the example.

That's definitely the point of such a decision in my opinion, but primarily I believe Belarus government is looking to attract the Russian community (probably the biggest community of crypto traders in Europe).
94  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: i heard bitcoin illegal in Taiwan...why? on: January 23, 2018, 01:49:26 AM
I don't think Bitcoin is banned in Taiwan actually they have 2 exchanges that support bitcoin. Bitoex and Maicoin  they can buy and sell transaction and its a gateway for fiat currency transferring to their banks accounts. They can buy at the convenience store like Hi-Life and Family Mart.
It's amazing that this topic is 6 pages long, starting from a typical rumor "I heard that...". To this day there are 5 Bitcoin ATM in Taiwan, 1 in the city where I live, I posted a picture of the ATM available in Tainan (South West of the country). Mining activity is very common and well known here, but of course it must be illegal, since "I heard it is"  Smiley in the future it would be perfect if one could check the info he has, before spreading wrong information, but I am probably asking for too much.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BEST ICO for 2018 on: January 22, 2018, 07:26:13 AM
Right now I strongly recommend CryptoBNB, here is the ANN thread > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2547705.0
Great potential for sure, given how BNBs grow in popularity pretty much everywhere.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO]★ CryptoBnB★ Disrupting Home Rental Platform Powered By Blockchain ★ on: January 22, 2018, 07:22:22 AM
One of the ICO around with the biggest potential in my opinion, given how popular BNB accommodation are getting all round the world. I already recommended several friends to follow your project, and wish you the best for the months/years to come.
97  Economy / Economics / Re: France declares war on the cryptocurrencies on: January 22, 2018, 06:27:26 AM
Those are fake news, it has been already clarified and they are exactly the same as what happened on Korea, and China, they didn't do anything, but a lot of people started to say that everything was over.. and it was just a huge fud.
this could be the cause of today's trading chart blues almost all the coins down all the price, but I am sure all this is only temporary, after no more news like this again then all will be back mending again
No fake news, this is real. They will be pushing in April during the summit in Buenos Aires. Real question is: what do you want to do exactly? Because for sure no one is talking about a ban, but simply more regulations and more control.

PS: avatar is on already, just need some time to refresh it seems.

PPS: fantastic concept IMO to apply the blockchain technology to the BNB market, no reason not to succeed if the team is fully dedicated. Looking forward to hear more. From someone who used to work in a BNB for a short time in Asia, this rises my interest and I hope you succeed.

Hi Arteezy,
I updated my ETH address above, new address is 0xd745Daf3CC2fE3666bD372899483acd1d63eC693
Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

99  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why the fuck did Satoshi implement the 1 MB blocksize limit? on: January 22, 2018, 03:54:55 AM
There are a lot of things that can be with Satoshi's mind at that moment which in his/her mind can be good with that 1mb limit per block. Satoshi did not even think that this would came on what we do have not and the demand for Bitcoins could come as far as this. That's why soft forks and hard forks came to the network just to get what the community want and need for the betterment of Bitcoin.
I highly doubt this. If you read the original paper, Satoshi's plan was to create a system that would become universal and used by many. Why the block was so small I am not sure but the answers given by dinofelis on page one are the most plausible to me.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Any Bitcoin Purchases Yet? on: January 22, 2018, 02:35:33 AM
So far I used Bitcoin to place bets on sports. For me Bitcoin has a real value, it allows me to deposit and withdrawal without restrictions, there are now plenty of bookmakers offering the possibility to bet with Bitcoin. I also know my former boss (in the sports betting) sees more and more customers making deposits with crypto-currencies. Sadly I believe the big majority of Bitcoin holders see no value in bitcoin and never made any transaction to buy items or services, big majority hold for speculation purpose only.
