81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Governs' oppression of bitcoiners may turn against them on: May 06, 2024, 07:46:26 PM
Democracy = Getting ruled by morons and weak people basically.

That's the problem.

Politicians are populists by default and it is because populism brings the most votes. Everybody loves free stuff. When a politician promise free healthcare, free education or hell even free money; everybody likes that person. Nobody asks how teh fuck that's gonna be free.

Massive FIAT printing is the result of that populism because they have to print to carry out their promises. That's how we are getting robbed by the governments.

Governments are the only corporations that never actually go bankrupt. They don't, even when they do. (they used to, but not anymore) Argentina went bankrupt but has Argentina disappeared and become some other country? Nope. It is still there.

I remember I read somewhere that banks used to print their own currencies during the first years of banking and it was backed by gold. I can't remember the details but it was something like that. So people were very careful with the bank where they kept their money. It is because if that bank was a fraud, nobody would bail it out. Nobody would come to the rescue.

It is the exact opposite now.

Now almost every bank is bankrupt but the gov rescues them by printing money massively. A few banks went down last year if I remember right they were small fries. How teh fck Deutcshe Bank is still floating?

The whole system has failed, long time ago.

2030 will be the next stage of that stupidity/populism.

No privacy
No private property
Universal basic income (free monii)

82  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: EU is set to delagalise decentralised mixers on: May 06, 2024, 07:25:31 PM
The future is that we are all KYCed. They're copying Xi Jin Ping's model.

I couldn't have summed it up better myself. That's the dream, or rather nightmare, that I have. And it involves going in the opposite direction for which Bitcoin was created. But the bad thing is that I see a majority of people who are going to embrace this willingly.

We are already KYC'ed. Every one of us have an ID and a tax number. The gov owns the real world as they own the virtual world. If you don't like to be KYC'ed on the internet, why don't we do something about real-world KYC enforcements? Is there a difference really? Can you go to a bank and have an anonymous bank account? Play in a  casino without showing your ID first? You can't even buy a six pack unless you do KYC first Tongue

We didn't have to do any of these because crypto was new. Now it is not anymore... Crypto has been "institutionalized".

None of us are really free. It is an illusion of freedom.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Samourai Wallet seized by the feds on: May 06, 2024, 10:06:41 AM

But that's unfair to make such classifications, no? What if a normal user likes Monero or Litecoin for coffee transactions because they're faster? Or because he/she simply likes the logos of those coins?

"For everyone else", I believe Bitcoin could also be used for the utility of those other cryptocurrencies if you know what you're doing.

Obviously everybody is free to use whatever suits them the best. In fact Ltc makes more sense than the other two for coffee transactions since it is fast, cheap and is as widely adopted as btc.

I sorted them based on their privacy abilities. Monero is the most hardcore privacy oriented coin so people who demand the hardest privacy will use nothing but monero because it makes more sense. The biggest handicap of xmr is that it has low liquidity and that’s not a small problem. Especially when you want to cash out over a million usd. Wink People who demand the best privacy still prefer to use btc over monero because of that probably.

It doesn’t have to be this or that in the end. There is a place for many alts in this market.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF good or bad? on: May 06, 2024, 04:37:50 AM
I am not sure if it was a good idea. ETF gave btc the legitimacy it needed but on the other hand it also institutionalized btc and that’s not a good thing because there are regulations everywhere and no business lets you use btc without doing a KYC check anymore. This happened because of the ETF. Btc was more free before the regulations because the govs didn’t know what to do with it. They are regulating it now and these regulations are everything against the ideals of crypto currencies which is having freedom.
85  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What can we do to make Bitcoin hit $100k on: May 05, 2024, 02:26:15 PM
I have always been thinking about what we could do to make Bitcoin hit a tremendous amount.

Is there anything we could do??

You can pray if that's going to help you. Other than that I don't think you can do anything unless your name is Michael Saylor and can buy thousands of bitcoins. Is it really important to you anyway? Will it change your life in a meaningful way if btc hits $100k? It is already at $64k which means to hit $100k, It only needs a 56% raise from its current price. You can find many other assets that'll do 50% in a year or two in the stock markets. Or have you made a bet? I can't see the significance of $100k price anymore tbh. To me, we have already made it when we went above $70k.

I'm reading similar stories in this section - it seems all occurred after changing security settings.

Can you go back and add IMG tags to the images you have posted, please?

He can't do that because he is a newbie ranking member.

Re-uploaded to talkimg because imgur is crap.

I wonder if this script can send a withdrawal request or change the withdrawal address though. Since it has an access to the client side, it can do whatever it wants. (From your side)

Yes, it can do both. An unauthorised withdrawal was initiated on my account. And it was able to bypass my profile address.

Shiet. Now we all can panic.

TheQuin where the hell are you man your establishment has caught FIRE!

I’d like to look when I am home but I am scared to touch that shit too as I also have an acc there.

That email looks legit. It is probably not a part of the attacker’s plan. Still though, like I said what you see on your browser isn’t the truth probably as the victims are loading a malicious script. As long as the backend of the app is safe, you shouldn’t worry. Hopefully it is safe Grin
91  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: May 04, 2024, 09:56:03 AM
TheQuin probably has a lot going on in his personal life. I have contacted him on Jan/24 and he replied to me on Jan/27. I had a delay with my deposit and my balance showed up a few seconds after I sent him a message. 3 days later he replied to me and said that the wallet software was updated and it works a bit slower than the old one.

Worst case scenario is, the feds are after this website.

This website didn’t do any kyc for more than 10 years and suddenly it was last year if remember right, it started to mention KYC in their ToS. That can’t be a coincidence.

This website might be the next victim of the gov.
92  Economy / Economics / Re: M2 money supply turns positive on: May 04, 2024, 09:50:09 AM
As expected. Printing money is the main job of a central bank. They can only stop the printer temporarily. The government has to spend money. Lots of money. If they don't print it, they will go bankrupt. (They will go bankrupt slowly when they do) That's the only choice they have.

img width=600]https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/05/03/ryduq.gif[/img]

Uk/Ru war certainly left a hole in the US budget.

Isn't it true that when you print a lot of money, the country that prints it has a tendency to have problems? because it is possible that the value of their currency will decrease in that case? Please correct me if my interpretation or understanding is wrong on this matter.

unless a country has a backup of other assets like gold. Now, if we are talking about us, if they do that without having any backup gold, and then they will print too many dollars, won't this lead to the collapse of their dollar? I'm just asking.

The dollar collapsed long time ago. In 1971 when Nixon removed the gold peg, it collapsed. Since then the USD is on borrowed time. Dotcom/mortgage crisis were the additional signs but the FED is trying to delay the inevitable by print more.

Another important thing is, the majority of the worldwide trade happens through the USD. That means almost every business keeps their books in USD. They calculate their debts and receivables in USD. So it will be catastrophic if the USD goes down suddenly.

That’s why these businesses should step away from the dollar slowly. One step at a time. The dollar died long time ago, it is just we haven’t seen the real outcome of its death yet.

World War III will be the inevitable result and looks like we are getting there.
93  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FreeBitco.in Appears Hacked - Monthly Prize Money Stolen From Multiple Users on: May 04, 2024, 09:33:55 AM
I didn't do anything. I certainly wasn't tricked into doing anything
I received an email notification that I had won a place in the wagering contest. I was expecting this email. I didn't click any links.
I opened chrome and clicked my freebitcoin bookmark to check if the prize money was in my account. It was. I was staring right at the balance. It disappeared. Went to zero. Then the referral coins started trickling in again.
Then I got an email notification about a pending withdrawal.
I hadn't done anything except open freebitcoin in chrome to check my balance.
After an hour the withdrawal was reversed and the coins returned to my account.
That's when I made the mistake of enabling 2FA

I think you got a fake email because the attacker already knew that you were going to be one of the winners of that contest. Who is the sender? Did it come from freebitco.in?

As the other victims pointed out, there seems to be a malicious script that’s targeting certain people. However this script loads on your browser. (Client-side) That means it has the ability to show you anything. Who knows what’s in that script… It can probably show a fake deposit address too.

That’s where you were getting tricked.

Just because you saw 0 balance didn’t mean you actually had 0 because your balance’s record kept at the back-end (server-side) of the application.

So till freebitco.in finds a fix, nobody should do anything stupid like sending coins to another wallet or deposit to a fake address. Better stay away for a while.

Some people managed to withdraw their coins successfully, maybe try that
94  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solar Panel Considerations on: May 04, 2024, 07:27:13 AM
But if mining pick up to ten cents a th or 20 cents a th this unit can earn $3.50 to $7.00 a day gives you a far more realistic chance at making money than the s9 ever will.

s19xp hydro sells for ~$6k on bitmain. (Yours probably is cheaper and less efficient than this because it is not hydro?)

If you can make $7 daily from that machine, it would take ~850 days for you to make your ROI. Mind that, you’ll have to make $7 every day (that’s your upper target) and we know that’s not going to be the case.

At the moment both s19xp and s19xp hydro are mining at a loss.

That means bitcoin’s price has to rise a lot to get that $7/daily income. Also new miners will emerge and mining will get more crowded while that happens and you’ll again get affected in a bad way. Meaning, your device will have zero second hand value.

Long story short; mining is a fool’s game unless you can buy the hardware for cheap and have access to “free” electricity.

Solar isn’t free. You pay upfront for the electricity and lock your future expenses.

Just buy bitcoin if you are bullish and you’ll make way more money without having any of these headaches.

95  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Risk of jail for developers. Should you be anonymous? on: May 03, 2024, 07:06:59 PM
This is a very concerning topic, long term it could be risky. I hope that game theory will push some countries to adopt bitcoin, and some developers might find a safe haven there

The only "safe haven" for the devs are Russia, China, North Korea and Cuba probably.  Cool You decide how safe these places are.

Any other country that treats the US as a friend will give anybody to the US on a platter.

Nowhere to run.

Do you think El Salvador would go against the US demands just because they like btc? Don't think so.
96  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MemoryDealers aka Roger Ver Arrested! on: May 03, 2024, 06:47:34 PM
That's the thing, you can't stay anonymous on the internet forever when you are using the internet infrastructure and domains which are controlled by the gov.

"Forever" is a very long time.  You can stay anonymous for a reasonable time.  Fire up Tails OS and use Monero as p2p e-cash.  Pretty good anonymity.  Just don't mess it up by linking your real world identity.

“Staying anonymous for a reasonable time” isn’t going to be enough if your are working on a project that can possibly disrupt the world.

What is reasonable? 3 months? 1 year? 10 years? How long will it take for the government to come up with a hint? Do you think we can delay the inevitable, say, for 5 years? Then what? Do jail time?

Forever anonymous is definitely what you want if you are working on a decentralized project which the government won’t like.

98  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FreeBitco.in Appears Hacked - Monthly Prize Money Stolen From Multiple Users on: May 03, 2024, 05:14:20 PM
It seems to me the freebitco.in's backend works as it should but somebody found a way to inject a script on the front-end of the app and it manipulates the DOM and tricks you into doing the shit you shouldn't be doing.

Like: "You are hacked, send x amount of btc to this adress to get unhacked"

In reality, you weren't hacked at all. It is just what this script kiddie wants you to believe. Regardless of that, it should be handled asap.
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MemoryDealers aka Roger Ver Arrested! on: May 03, 2024, 04:50:43 PM
Exactly. I've always wondered about that. But what if Satoshi Nakamoto was actually the CIA or NSA (which explains why no one has been able to find who he/she/they really was)? We'll never know for sure. The thing is crypto users need to be aware of governments' increasing surveillance tactics by protecting their privacy as much as possible.

Impossible to know what satoshi's real intention was. Maybe he was sincere or maybe he was a government tool. All I'm telling is, even if he was sincere, the gov would still find out his identity. Just because the general public don't know it, doesn't mean the big guys also don't.

If developers are creating something as controversial as a mixer or decentralized exchange, they must never reveal their identity to the public.
What's best? Satisfy investors by revealing your ID (making them believe your project is legit)? Or remain anonymous like Satoshi even if investors think your project is a scam? I think the last option is the way to go. Hopefully, crypto investors learn a valuable lesson with the US' aggressive stance towards the industry. Wishing all the best to Roger Ver. Smiley

That's the thing, you can't stay anonymous on the internet forever when you are using the internet infrastructure and domains which are controlled by the gov. They have unlimited power compared to a single individual.

You know even Intel admitted that they were putting a backdoor in their processors. That's what we are dealing with. Every windows/ios machine is a potential government spy in my eyes.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How has Satoshi's identity never been revealed ? on: May 03, 2024, 04:36:12 PM
do you think they also got Satoshi's stash?

i have to believe if the US government knew him already then he could be under their watch all the time or he must have been detained underground already or buried under the desert. for the US  government, the world is just too small not to see everyone actually. the world is just like their small village with 7 houses.

I don't know all that. I don't even know if they really know satoshi's identity. I am just making an educated guess. The chances are they know it because their power has no limits compared to a single individual no matter how smart that individual is.

Satoshi does not control bitcoin and bitcoin is controlled by the community, so whether there is Satoshi or not, bitcoin will still operate in a decentralized.

satoshi owns 1 million btc. If those coins move, it will be catastrophic.

We all think and act like satoshi's coins aren't there. Like they are lost coins. If they move, we'll know then somebody can dump it on the markets. People will panic sell. Bitcoin might not recover from it again. 1 million coins we are talking about here. The devs will have to do a hard fork to prevent this probably and forge a new chain where satoshi blocks don't exist.

Even if the main dev team (core) don't do it, some miners can form a minority chain like how they did it with bcash years ago. Either way it won't be good. Again it will create another war.

Team 1: We are betrayed, satoshi  betrayed us!!!
Team 2: This is the original chain, satoshi has to eat as much as anybodie!!
