81  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 17, 2018, 03:42:30 PM
Retail and institutional demand are quite unnecessary, and shorters will eventually lose out, because the supply is limited.
It will take a very few enlightened people to snap up the remaining coins.

Bitcoin was flying up to 20k at a time when the fundamentals were concerning. Strife in the community. A bitcoin convention that couldn't be paid for in bitcoin. A credible fork attack. Uncertainty around whether scaling would ever be achieved. Now we are in a market where the fundamentals are infinitely more reassuring. The chinko-ver fork attack is relatively settled and they have lost. We now have a some what tested path to scaling. Things are looking brighter as the price is looking dimmer. This says to me that all that is needed to win out in this market is patience. Which, lucky for me, is like the only virtue I don't lack!

Losing Money Without Losing Your Edge | Peter Brandt Mental Game of Trading
Quote
Peter explains some of the common mental pitfalls that can commonly affect traders. He explains how to deal with painful drawdowns, opens up about his own worst losing period, and reveals what it took for him to get back into the black.

Hes had drawdowns as much as 37%. AHAHAHA amateur Cheesy. I draw down 37% on a good day!

Yep. 37% is a joke. BTC'ers hodled thru -90% , twice.   Some alt holders hodled thru -98% and one or two even came good after that!

It's funny too cuz in that same video he actually talks about us crypto investors. Says that we are all hopped up on too much success too fast. That we have never felt real loss. I'm just like buddy you have NO idea. Cheesy I don't think there are any investors in the history of the world who have learned to keep a level head through losses like crypto hodlers.

What a boring Market we have this year, ffs

It's not boring when it breaks below 6k, not to me. I almost enjoyed this bearish week more than the more boring sideways weeks earlier.
86  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Lightning Network Discussion Thread on: August 16, 2018, 02:18:16 PM
When I make a new channel it says I can only receive the amount on a channel that I have spent down. So how did the first address get spent down enough to receive the first lightning tokens?

When you open a channel you are essentially giving your money to someone else while making certain arrangements that ensure that they can't spend it themselves without your permission (think of it like a wad of cash that you hand to someone else with a string attached that you can yank if you see them doing anything fishy Cheesy).

No, not it is not "giving away your money" to someone else. It is more like sending your money for safe keeping in a multisig address that you can get anytime you want. "Giving away" implies you already "lost" control over your money, but what stops it is the "rules".

I was trying to make a relatable analogy. He can go read the white paper if he wants to understand technical specifics. I was giving an explanation that didn't require him to understand multisig addresses. I was explaining it like I would explain it to my mother and your "corrections" would confuse my mother.

When you open a channel you are essentially giving your money to someone else while making certain arrangements that ensure that they can't spend it themselves without your permission (think of it like a wad of cash that you hand to someone else with a string attached that you can yank if you see them doing anything fishy Cheesy). Next what you can do is renegotiate the arrangement so that you can now only take back part of it and not all of it. This renegotiation where you went from being able to take back all of it to now only being able to take part of it is what we refer to as a lightning transaction. So you see what is missing from your equation is that the other party has not made a similar but opposite arrangement with you. They have not given you money that they could take back at any time. They could have though, if they wanted to, and if they had than you would have had no problem in receiving without spending down first.

90  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 16, 2018, 02:25:20 AM
That's it. That's all I can take. Another one for the ignore list.

91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: August 16, 2018, 01:03:00 AM
Grin nice to meet you. Just trying do my part for XMR Wink

Like the only guy in the crypto articles who talks any damn sense. Tmosley lost his damned mind over bcash. All the old bugs arguments are pathetically non sequitur. Sometimes I feel like making an account over there just to play devils advocate because everyones anti crypto arguments are so bad. I mean I really do pick up a lot of good insights from those comments sections on other articles but they are helplessly out of their depth on crypto.

Bcashers and XmrTards are very much alike... where rptilian? Smiley lol

Yea I mean you are right. All this time I thought fungibility was a big deal in a currency I now see that I was just being dramatic. Roll Eyes

Jesus. That that ignore list is the stuff of legends. You ignored anyone who even so much as looked at you funny didn't you? It's so voluminous I almost feel left out for not being on it. It's like a bad party that you I didn't want to go to anyway but still can't help but feel left out since EVERYONE got invited but me.
93  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 15, 2018, 05:02:31 PM
HAH, should kept quite! Now you're on somebodies list! Tongue

Me too! Cheesy

I don't think you need worry about that. We are all on roaches crypto-jew list. Cheesy

On a more on topic note. Look at this. https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#dominance-percentage now that chart is a beautiful sight. We all know the number but look at the picture. It's vertical. Grin

@Gyrsur Wow, that's a lot of merit. Thanks buddy. Not sure what I did to earn it but thanks!

Looks like some people in here are getting so bored with a stagnating BTC price that they're turning on each other with the dreaded Ignore Hammer.  Shocked

My ignore list is mostly just ancient long gone trolls from a bygone era. Trolls don't seem to tend to stick around for the long term. I wonder why that is Huh.

Trick Shots (ft. Dude Perfect)

There have to be cuts in this video. What is shown is almost impossible. Like sha256 collision kinda impossible.

Quite possibly there are cuts or trickery, although they deny it.
It could also just be competent athletes with plenty of time to practise. And they don't have to be perfect shots or throws...
Part of what works for it is it's so relatable, it's just some dudes in a gym.
I don't think it begins to compare to a decent dance performance, or a magnificent All Blacks try.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Dvc5DV_gC4 note here the scrum half's pass is not great.

(also fucking Zinzan Brooke) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHl29gRKmcU

It's the arrow in the apple shot that makes it particularly unbelievable. For them to do it all in one take there would have to be many many tries at the very least. Which is fine because on most of those shots they can just miss and try again. But with the apple shot they don't have the luxury of missing on their many attempts to get all of those shots in the needed one take.

Almost transparent, but has taken time. The who is who of the zoo makes it difficult.

but this is certain, the monsters have been found, the resources required are endless

I have been forsaken, gone lost, my goal is beyond bitcoin

for me my resources are fine, for mine my resources are no less than a dynasty

that is a lot of bitcoin

Dank, is that you?
