81  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do ICO owners liquidate ETH/BTC worth millions? on: November 24, 2017, 08:31:22 AM
The last time ICOs started liquidating their eth, it went from $400 to $150.

You mean they retain the ETH? I do get it its bad when they sell such huge amounts.

they don't usually dump it all at the same time. what they do is that they wait for some pump to come and then start to slowly dump it on the market. that causes a big drop nonetheless but it will be a slower drop not a sharp one and without any recovery.

although there are cases that people panic. we have all heard about panic sellers before. that is when they have a large amount of some asset and see it crashing. for example after a big dump has occurred. that is when they suddenly decide to dump a large amount of their assets on the market. in  this case they dump millions of ETH on exchanges.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum at $1000 in Jan 2018? on: November 24, 2017, 08:16:39 AM
Ethereum's price is on the increase but I doubt if it will be $1000 in January 2018 or any time 2018 . It could be in 2019.The truth is you can never tell with digital currencies. Link is the prediction for  ethereum

in the future ethereum price will fall more. 2018 will be lower than 2017 and 2019 will be lower than both of these years. it is only because this altcoin has an unlimited supply and a huge amount of it is being created every day. you can compare the price movement of ethereum (on the charts) with similar altcoins which have unlimited supply.

take Dogecoin for example of an extreme one. it has a huge supply and no cap. the price has been declining for years and it keeps going lower and lower. soon it will reach less than 10 satoshi and eventually die.

that is how supply and demand works.
83  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Strategies of Some Experts. on: November 24, 2017, 08:02:13 AM
Are you an expert? Your ideas and strategies on how to get successfull in cryptocurrency trading will be highly appreciated. Care to help us who are new into this? Drop your ideas here please! Thank you.

unfortunately trading is something that you have to learn on your own. however, there are good resources online that you can use such as the charting schools and investopedia. you can visit these sites and even google for more and read them for a while then start investing on your own.
i personally started this way, i wouldn't call myself an "expert" but i am satisfied with my results. i have spent a lot of time just watching the market though. someone once said to do it and i tried, it is a good thing. you gain a lot of experience by that. you see how it changes, how others are reacting and you have to analyze what you see to apply it to the the real trades you want to do in the future.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: About Bitcoin Bad Rumors on: November 24, 2017, 07:50:37 AM
It is something extremely new and it will make those in the financial arena feel nervous and a bit weary because it is new and looks set to really take off.

actually this is not at all new!
for years i have been seeing them spread FUD and misinformation about bitcoin in some cases so wrong that anyone with little understanding of basics of bitcoin would see right through them. the only difference, the only thing new is that these days there is more of them than there used to be. and that is only be cause bitcoin has grows so much bigger now and it is bound to attract that much more attention both positive and negative types.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Indian banks embraces blockchain on: November 23, 2017, 01:34:22 PM
this will be another private ledger for the banks to do their own business, and it has nothing to do with bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in general they are just using the same technology and the end user will probably never even finds out about it.
for example when you have a bank account or a credit card and use it, you don't care if it is the traditional way of communication or are they using advanced cryptographic method and have a blockchain somewhere!
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BCH at 2000$. What you guys think? on: November 23, 2017, 12:34:36 PM
Though just today we see another pump of BCH to push price up to 30% thus far and still going. I'm still speculating this to be a short term thing only and will be over.

this time it is because of bitstamp announced that they are going to list bitcoin cash on their website for trading and history had proven that whenever a big exchange like this adds a new altcoin to their platform, that coin gets pumped big time because there will soon be a lot more traders exposed to that altcoin for trading.

Thing is, most people here don't believe in bitcoin cash, and some even think it's a scam. You can't have something more than the market cap of BTC when you don't have as much support as BTC.

one thing that i have found out about this market is that being scam or bad or even having bugs have never stopped people from investing in a shitcoin and it has never stopped it from getting pumped hard.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash fraud on: November 23, 2017, 12:15:53 PM
At which exchange or wallet you were holding your bitcoin during fork. Many exchanges and wallets have already allowed users to cashout their bitcoin cash and also coinbase will allow users to claim their bitcoin cash on jan next year.

That's mighty big of Coinbase. How long did that take?

Coinbase never planned on even touching bitcoin cash but in the early days when the fork happened and then it gained some value on exchanges and the volume grew because of the initial dump, Coinbase was put under a lot of pressure by its users that they should credit BCH to their users because they are missing on some money.
i think it took about 1 month until they gave in the pressure and set the date to January 2018!
88  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lisk vs Ethereum on: November 23, 2017, 06:30:28 AM
Lisk no eth, eth is not the degree of development of lisk can be compared, so basically the two coins are not comparable. Optimistic eth, short-term prices should be able to 500usd it.

the reason why ETH is worth higher is not because it is better! but it is only because they ethereum foundation could raise a lot more money in their ICO and they are putting that money to good use. a big part of it was dedicated to bribes and advertisement to hype the coin up and take the market. another big part of it was dedicated to manipulate the market and pump the price of it up and also prevent any possible crashes by placing big buy walls.
the 70+ million ETH premines also helped them a lot.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: which coin is good for short time investment on: November 23, 2017, 06:15:08 AM
altcoins that are getting pumped.

go to your exchange website and look to see which altcoin is being pumped at the time being then you have to speculate whether the pump is at an end, near the end or just starting.  and that is the hard part of trading. if you do that step right then you can make profit.
you buy coins that are on the pump and sell before their pump is over and make a lot of profit from it in short term. then keep that profit in bitcoin only and make a long term profit from bitcoin price rise too.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3rd time is the charm. Will Ethereum break trought sell wall at $400? on: November 23, 2017, 05:47:58 AM
The price of ETH at present is also very attractive, and is tending to rise! Currently it is a quick transaction and has a lower transfer fee than BTC.

transaction fee of ethereum is known to be one of the highest among altcoins. at some point it was even higher than bitcoin and worst thing is whenever there is a surge of transactions the whole network of it fails Cheesy

in any case transaction of of an altcoin such as ethereum is meaningless. it may as well be $1000 per tx or even free and still wouldn't make any difference. to put simply because nobody uses it to transfer money. everyone only buys it on exchanges, keeps on exchanges, dump on exchanges fast. and some buy and hold a little while in their wallet before dumping.
there is no usage as a payment so the fees doesn't matter at all!!!
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why I find Monero the most appealing crypto? on: November 23, 2017, 05:02:50 AM
excellent name? i don't think so. Monero is actually a little weird.

what i think?
it is one of the oldest altcoins which has stayed alive.
it is the only proper anonymous coin which has real features for making your transactions truly untraceable.
but it has serious scaling issues which is a big downside to it.

all in all i believe Monero is a decent coin compared to rest of the altcoins and it has always been a good investment as far as price is concerned. there has been good rises which don't fall down to bottoms after the rise which is a good sign.
92  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 3rd time is the charm. Will Ethereum break trought sell wall at $400? on: November 23, 2017, 04:39:06 AM
Maybe if Bitcoin's bull run calms down I guess?

it has calmed down, that is why altcoins are getting pumped in the past day or so.
price is nearly stable above $8000 and the fluctuations are all less than 10% with most of them lower than 5%. that is the definition of stable price in bitcoin and whenever that happens, it is the only chance altcoins get to pump. and now a couple of them including ETH, BCH, Doge and some smaller ones are getting pumped hard.
we probably will see $400 be broken because  the pumpers have a lot of money to inject in ETH but i am afraid of the bubble of it which is growing even bigger than normal.
93  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Ripple's Rally Over? XRP Price Runs Into Roadblock on: November 22, 2017, 12:26:46 PM
so far it seems like each time ripple is pumped, the whales wait a little to see if XRP has any more chance of rising and when they give up on that hope they suddenly start dumping large amounts of this coin on the market, maybe it is just a coincidence but usually the foundation releases a large amount of it near that time, it is even possible they pump it so they can dump and earn a lot of money.

If you compare Ripple with Bitcoin, Ripple has real value, and real business use cases. If one day speculators say "ok guys, Bitcoin is bullshit, let's switch to Bitcoin Cash or Gold " Bitcoin could fell down to 100$, because it does'n have real economics value.

if we wanted to use a centralized and unlimited currency we would have continued using fiat, we never even started bitcoin in first place!
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Get out of ethereum while you still can! on: November 22, 2017, 11:50:46 AM
one of the mistakes that most altcoin investors make is that when they find some altcoin they think is good, they stick to it like a glue and never let go even if that altcoin is dropping or best case staying the same. and in case of ETH, the price has been slowly decreasing with small jump backs.

and while this is going on, the rest of the altcoins are getting pumped. there has been at least 3 altcoins with 200% rise every week of the past 6 months that ethereum has been stagnating.
i don't know about you but i prefer to get my money out of ETH and participate in all of those rises, even if i can catch 50% out of a 200% rise each weak, i will be making a lot more than holding ETH!!!
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin Cash replace Bitcoin?? on: November 22, 2017, 11:32:49 AM
As a lot of people say "BTC is hard to replace" for different reason. Its blockchain has a lot of problems and it's more centralized than other crypto but it has an huge adoption and an "important name", so we have to wait years to see changes in this way

bitcoin is the only decentralized cryptocurrency out there. or maybe you don't know what centralization looks like. in which case look into other altcoins that do forks and rollbacks to cover their mess ups by flipping a switch without even considering what the users may or may not want!

and it is not about the name it is because bitcoin has succeeded at being a currency even if it has some downsides such as temporary high fees but altcoins have failed to that and even if they begin to be adopted as currencies they have worse scaling than bitcoin, some of them will fail to handle transactions like etehreum did and some of them will have even higher fees if it comes to that.
96  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin can cross $300+ in next 3 years? on: November 22, 2017, 10:46:44 AM
no altcoin will go from $1 to $300 in 3 years. many of them may go from 1 to 300 in 3 months though. if you are looking for profit in altcoins then try to focus on that kind of rise instead of buying and holding altcoins for such a long term like this.
most of them get pumped crazily like this but in a short period of time and then they won't last up there for long. they always get dumped.

in other words if you buy something and then hold it, you may even miss the chance to take profit from it! the price will go up, you miss it, it will fall down to where you bought and you are left with something useless and your money was locked in it for a very long time.
and that is only if you get lucky and during the dump price doesn't fall below what you bought it for.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to DEAL with FUD's on: November 22, 2017, 10:34:23 AM
the only way to deal with FUD is to educate yourself about the market and also bitcoin's technical aspect when the FUD is about that part. there are trusted sources to learn from on the internet which you can take a look. and as for the price FUD, it is just speculation and when you become more familiar with it and also how bitcoin works and how the supply and demand is, you can see right through each FUD that comes out.

right now there are at least 2 FUD in this board spreading false information about bitcoin. at some point it becomes too obvious to you. you just have to hang around for a while and it can even become way too repetitive for you to see same FUD being spread by a different account handle at different times. specifically when there is some kind of drop going on they start it up and sometimes when price rises fast and some miss out Tongue
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is BCH not King? on: November 22, 2017, 10:16:30 AM
Why do you guys think we didn't move to BCH from BTC? Even though the segwitx2 was cancelled, BCH still seems to be Bitcoin 2.0

you can't just make statements like this based on your gut feeling. why do you think BCH is bitcoin 2.0? it doesn't do anything special, it just has a 8 MB block while bitcoin has potentially 4 MB blocks which is being increased slowly!
not to mention that all the issues that the 8 MB block size increase will introduce. specially in long term. it will easily cut the number of nodes which are currently spread across the world down to at least 1/3 of what it is now. because people are not going to run a full node when blockchain size increases 1.1 GB per day.
and what will you do when the 8MB blocks were full in the future? when the BCH mempool was overflowing with unconfirmed transactions and fees were through the roof? another hard fork to 16MB, 32, 64,... or 1 TB per block?!!
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How high bitcoins can go? on: November 22, 2017, 10:07:50 AM
there are assets available in the normal markets with lot more supply than bitcoin and they are only assets and they are worth from $200K to $500K.
bitcoin is a global currency which anyone can use without any central authority to tell them otherwise. a decentralized cryptocurrency with no taxes and no bullshit with a limited supply that will not change.

i leave calculating how much bitcoin can rise to you...
