i hope it doesnt upset but i am with cryptopia on this, i made my opinion clear & received a less than satisfactory response.
if you want/need a new coin, make it.
cbx is already decent, it just needs the tlc that all successful projects need.

On Oct. 1 I plan on disabling my services (electrum servers, jswallet, block explorers) that require an active node. Please make arrangements. All of my services give you access to your private key that you can import into your own nodes. However, the Copay Beta may be tricky if you don't have a programming background.

I have received some questions via pm that are probably more appropriate for a larger audience. The occasional loss of hash / pause in block generation is not healthy, nor is acceptable for a cryptocurrency. I'm sure you are all aware of the drama in the BTC work regarding mining centralization and it's risks. One miner with >51% hash share is by definition an attack on the network. And miners that play shell games in regard to multiple pools in name only are not fooling those who understand cryptocurrency. For that reason I would like to focus my time on a different project, as my bandwidth is always limited. However, since we have many more folks using my services than I was aware and to give them more time, I will continue to keep them open until Nov. 1 (will reassess then). Frankly, I was a little surprised on the amount of feedback... this sub has been very quiet lately. TYVM for the clarification & reconsideration!! Would it be possible to elaborate a bit on whats going on behind the scenes? we are few but growing in number and interest. is there anything we can do to keep you among us? Sincere regards!! |

Blockchains automatically reorg forks after a short period of time. It's already resolved. We are just checking out if there's anything malicious.
It was accidental, I'm sure. We are talking 30PHs that showed up out of nowhere. It cranked out blocks quickly until KGW could compensate. That's what caused the fork: more blocks produced than propagated.
I'm sitting here looking through the chain and it doesn't look hostile at all.

im in agreement here, r0ach should be engaged to clarify his oft-repeated claims but the facts are much more simple..
gold & silver are cumbersome at best, and subject to outright confiscation at worst.
even cash above a certain amount is viewed as suspect and therefore open for theft by govt proxy.
for me, gold is nothing more than an emergency back up like a bag of candles or waterproof matches in the event of an 'unforeseen' catastrophy.
and sadly, in my personal experience, when catastrophe strikes - the gold shops pull down their shutters and sit inside with the lights off for as long as it takes for 'disaster' to pass.
ive experienced this twice. with literal hordes of metal holding persons congregating outside with literally nothing to do other than wait.
to vilify cryptocurrencies at this early point in the game is absolute folly if not downright paid-for dishonesty!
