801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Conmebol Libertadores 2023 - Prediction and Discussion Thread on: September 08, 2023, 12:35:24 AM
I'm dreaming of the final of this championship already....
Did you see that Conmebol is already selling tickets?

The final of the Copa Libertadores in Maracanã (Rio de Janeiro) is scheduled for November 4th.
Even though Conmebol should only release details on ticket sales at the beginning of October, anxious fans (I'm one of them) can already buy their tickets, hotel and even tickets to the stadium in advance for prices ranging from R$ 2,500 and R$4,000 (Amount in Reais, Brazilian local currency).

Obviously there will be cheaper tickets, but those are not yet available for sale.

Would you buy, at that moment, a very expensive ticket for the championship final without being sure if your team will play in it?
802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting Features on any Banking or Financial apps should be Removed on: September 08, 2023, 12:23:40 AM
I noticed something lately. Although it has been there for a long while but the time I have spent on this board is making me see things. I do not know if this is how it is in other parts of the world but I noticed that in my banking app, there a betting feature where the user can place a bet on any match directly from the app.

Honestly, I hate it and I think that this feature should be removed so as to protect consumers from potential harm promote responsible financial practices and maintain the integrity of financial institutions. Bodies in charge of betting regulations should start here by establishing guidelines or restrictions prohibiting betting features within banking and financial apps. My submission is that betting features on any banking or financial apps should be removed to discourage compulsive gambling and irresponsible gambling. Do you agree with this perspective?

This depends a lot on the entity that supervises the banks in each country.
In Brazil, the regulatory body is called "BACEN" and I'm sure it would never allow a financial institution to allow this type of "functionality" within an application.

Financial institutions should appreciate and encourage the conscious use of money by people, offer savings and profitability services, financial education... never something that can lead the user to create an addiction that makes him lose all his money and possibly until you get into debt with it.

Unfortunately, the unbridled advertising of online betting is getting out of control and common sense, my fear is that someday this will be so poorly seen in society that governments will need to create strict rules that can "drown" this business model.
803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: September 08, 2023, 12:17:58 AM
The moment when they said we were going to have three hosts I was thinking how the palyer and fans were going to travel between these countries because even if we consider these countries are close together there is some paper for the people who want to travel between these countries and this can be annoying for people.
I think the best they can do is to make some special rules during the World Cup regarding this.

Certainly the most complicated visa to opt for will be the American one, the others are easier.
I can't say how it is in other countries, but in my case, as a Brazilian, I've been verifying that fortunately 85% of people managed to obtain a tourist visa last year.
With the American visa in hand, as a Brazilian, I manage to obtain authorizations to enter Mexico and Canada with much less effort....
Authorization for Canada consists of applying for the etA, an electronic authorization for travel to the USA, which can be easily obtained on the Canadian government website.
To enter Mexico, you don't even need authorization, just present the American visa upon arrival in the country.

In any case, I hope that these countries make it more flexible for tourists to enter other parts of the world during the World Cup.
804  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Vivendo como nômade e arbitrando localizações no mundo on: September 07, 2023, 01:28:53 AM

806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fan of casino reviews online? This is a must-read on: September 07, 2023, 01:16:39 AM
~snip~

So if I don't know about Bitcointalk forum and 1xbit I would have though the online casino is a good one. There is no single bad review about 1xbit on TrustPilot and I was like how the hell this is happening?

To cut this topic short, stay the hell away from TrustPilot, I think Coinguru is still a better choice.

In my opinion, the best place to review a betting forum is by searching for it here on BitcoinTalk.org.
where else can we get honest user reviews and opinions? We also have official threads from several respected casinos here and the admins or a legal representative of these sites are almost always present to answer questions and/or solve problems that occur.
We also have several subscription campaigns that revert a good part of their profits to the users themselves and not to a centralized platform that uses this for its own profit.... let's encourage more the casinos that we have here.

I'm not a very diverse gambler, but I still believe there's not much need to look for reviews outside of our forum.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Control Your Emotions and Win More Bets on: September 07, 2023, 01:10:48 AM
Sports betting has always been a very exciting scenario for many people, but at the same time I see that it is a very unstable ground for newcomers who do not know where they are entering, so it is very important that they know how to manage their emotions during games and not underestimate the power of the mind because that will certainly be the difference between a successful experience with gambling or a sequence of losses that would be quite frustrating.

This is certainly not an easy thing, as "emotional management" involves a lot of discipline and strategy, something that most gamblers unfortunately do not have, which is why it is essential that every player sets financial and time limits in gambling and that he strictly adheres to them. regardless of the outcome. That way, it's easier to stop gambling than simply waiting for that "voice of conscience" to come telling you it's time to stop gambling for today.
It is also important to overcome the temptation to always increase bets to try to recover losses, thus avoiding the dreaded spiral of losses that will make you reach the bottom of the well faster.

Patience is a crucial virtue in guessing. Not every day will be a victory and understanding this is essential to keep emotions under control. It's important not to get carried away, as making impulsive decisions can result in later regrets.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A typical weekend in sport betting-Why do gamblers still do sport bets? on: September 07, 2023, 01:00:34 AM
What is the reason that sport bettors still continue to place sport bets?

I'm a sports bettor, and I love football.
Every day I read news about football, watch programs about this sport on TV, I'm always looking on the internet for news about it and it's also one of my main topics among my friends.
So I'm the one who asks you: Why wouldn't I also bet on football?
It's not just about making money, even if some results are totally contradictory to the statistics.... it's about betting on something I love. Why not?

I am hopeful that there are still many bettors who do this for the love of the sport and not just for the money.
809  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Sobre merits, níveis, campanhas etc on: September 06, 2023, 02:53:32 AM

810  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Binance pede que usuários abandonem a moeda BUSD on: September 06, 2023, 02:43:43 AM

811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 06, 2023, 02:36:52 AM
The amount of money Barcelona spent in this transfer window is unbelievable because they just spent 3.4 million euros for the players they bought and this summer they hired players like João Cancelo and İlkay Gündoğan while Barcelona didn't spend anything and just for hiring Oriol Romeu from Girona they spent 3.4m which is amazing while Real Madrid spent 130 million euro.

But that's nothing new when we talk about Barcelona... I remember very well that last year it was the same thing and there was the aggravating factor that they were having great financial difficulties... even so, Barcelona was the club that spent the most on signings in the first month of the opening of the transfer window in Europe in 2022. Right from the start, they had hired six reinforcements for the absurd amount of 153 million euros... 58 million in Raphinha, 45 million in Lewandowski and 50 million in Koundé.

So... I won't be surprised if Barcelona continue to make these bad investments now and again in 2024.
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Learning from those who have experience on: September 06, 2023, 02:29:59 AM
I want to ask those of you who have a hard addiction experience in gambling and then you can treat it yourself, and today still playing gambling but with the principle of good management and financial management in gambling.
I want to know how you break away from the addiction, you can mention the actions taken or what kind of steps? And how long do you need time to break away from the addiction that has been experienced?

"I want to find out because I think your experience in the case as I mentioned will be useful for readers, especially for me personally"

I came from a time when making money with online casinos was easy, especially when I could include several referrals that multiplied my earnings. Over time the games became more and more difficult and less profitable and then I realized that I was already spending almost everything I had earned in the previous months.

Fortunately I never needed to invest a lot of money in gambling, I just used the profits I got from betting and referrals.

I think that my "salvation" was to have found an alternative in sports games, because I don't know if I would be able to stop betting completely.... with sports games I was able to "slow down", make more sporadic bets while I needed time to analyze game statistics, place smaller bets (always offline) and patiently wait for the results.

Today I'm happy with the discipline gained in gambling and with my responsible bets, but every now and then I still have a few slot machine relapses Grin
813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: September 06, 2023, 02:24:13 AM
I am of the opinion that since gambling sites are mostly online and some has adds that pops up as advert on visited site, one should be able to disable or change their browser settings  by blocking casino adds and as well disabling  gambling sites on their browser settings so as not to gain access to it anymore till the number of days they deem fit to their resolve. This was just a little tip I gave as a possible solution. I had to put it up here for further discussions so that the bigger community can see it as  well.

Well, I've read a lot about sports betting and it's actually the only type of betting I do often, so I can speak more about it with property.
I think that advertisements certainly contribute a lot to addiction, especially for new players to enter and many times they are not even old enough to bet.
Unfortunately, just blocking advertisements on websites will not have a positive effect, as they are on television, on billboards and in many public places... it's impossible not to see them.

I still believe that addiction must be fought in the psychology of each person.
You have to see betting as something fun, study the statistics of the game, watch the sports news and place your bet without fear of losing money, make a healthy and recreational meal, without the obligation to win money or recover what you have already lost.

In the "worst case", sports betting should be seen as a long-term investment, not a way to make money immediately and compulsively.

816  Local / Português (Portuguese) / Re: Binance pede que usuários abandonem a moeda BUSD on: September 02, 2023, 12:31:31 AM

817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Socialtournaments-A way to stop gambling addiction on: September 02, 2023, 12:22:15 AM
Do you think this platform can help people remove addiction,I think it can be a big boost to do so.

Certainly not.

Playing with "play money" does not have the same enthusiasm as playing with real money, it ends up being just entertainment. And those who play just for entertainment will hardly become addicted, because when he starts losing money the game becomes boring and he ends up abandoning it.

As for the person who is addicted, when he starts to lose money he has the "need" to recover the lost value, and therefore he sinks more and more.

I believe that games like this can be an educational way to prevent people from becoming addicted, but not a way to treat them.
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Conmebol Libertadores 2023 - Prediction and Discussion Thread on: September 02, 2023, 12:17:42 AM
Well finally we have the semifinals right here.

Yeahhhh! We reached the semifinal clashes!!!

Fluminense will have the honor of starting the first game of this duel playing at home, in Maracanã... my guess is a draw and the big decision should take place in Beira-Rio, with the international qualified for the grand final Cool

In the current campaign, Fluminense only managed to decide at home against Argentinos Juniors, for the round of 16. Internacional had the chance to win the classification at home on two occasions, one against River Plate and another against Bolívar playing in Beira-Rio.
Does it make a difference? I would say yes, because the second game is always more tense and playing with the support of the crowd helps a lot.

Looking at the other side, Palmeiras and Boca Juniors... The first leg will take place at Bombonera and the next game will take place at Allianz Parque.
819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 02, 2023, 12:04:31 AM
What is the one behaviour you noticed in a gambler and  you dislike it? You don't need to have a reason for disliking it but you just do.

As for me I dislike when gamblers complain of their losses, meanwhile you hear them complain when they are getting winnings.

What about you, what do you dislike ?

In my case, it's not exactly a matter of "dislike", in fact I even consider it a funny situation....

When a certain player has that "infallible strategy" that he saw on a betting recommendation site or in a video on Youtube, then he is 100% convinced that it will really make him rich.
Generally, these "infallible" strategies start by making a profit, so the player, I believe, is in control of the game and increases his bets, until he reaches the moment when he loses everything at once. Then he curses everyone, except himself who believed in this illusion.
