801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Iridium - People are Power - PoW - No Premine - Community Built on: April 13, 2018, 09:32:03 PM
I like the cryptonight lite V7 witch is fair for old cpu too.

If this is the same algo that Turtlecoin [TRTL] switched to then, sure. Otherwise, following Monero is also a good strategy as I outlined before.

The threat of ASICs is very real, though - I also mine mined Intensecoin but its network hashrate has jumped from 3-5MH/s to 25-35MH/s over the last 2 days.

EDIT - @nanona - I didn't know about Claymore not including Heavy and that would definitely sway my vote even though I prefer xmr-stak.
802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant N - Cryptonight, Cryptonight-lite FPGA/ASIC miner on: April 13, 2018, 09:26:08 PM
Any news of change of algorithm to CryptonightV7 of Karbo (KRB), Electroneum (ETN), Bytecoin (BCN), Dinastycoin (DCY) and DigitalNote (XGN)??.

Are there other coins with cryptonight algorithm?.

Is it still viable to buy a baikal for about $ 1000?.

Best regards.

Sorry, but it looks like you are too late. Only tiny market cap coins are left that are still running the original CN algo and it sure looks like ASICs have found them because the network hashrates (and difficulty) of two that I watch (ITNS & DERO) have gone up by >10x over the last two days.

Both of those coins are barely worth mining now, even with an ASIC, and both are going to hard fork at some point anyway; ITNS is scheduled for May 14 while DERO is "imminent."

803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: April 13, 2018, 05:42:59 PM
Hi,
My hard drive crashed, I did not have much IntenseCoin, but is it possible to recover my wallet? I have the address of my wallet and the password of the application?
Thank you

Not unless you saved the recovery seed or the (4) 64b keys (private&public view&spend).

Keep on, keeping on, Pool.Sexy. I pointed most of my AMD cards at your MUSIC pool about a week ago after a few months hiatus mining a bunch of CryptoNight coins and I really like both the new look and, more importantly, the consistent and fair payouts. A lot of other pool operators could learn a thing or two from you guys.

805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] INTENSE COIN - Blockchain backed decentralized VPN - Hybrid PoW on: April 13, 2018, 04:57:16 PM
fucking asic kill a coin. Tomorrow the graft will switch to a new algorithm and that's it. Today's 37MH will turn into 137MH

lol, yep... trying to mine ITNS with a GPU right now is like throwing a hot dog down a hallway.

806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [TRTL] TurtleCoin - Cowabunga Dudes! on: April 13, 2018, 04:18:54 PM
Yeah, It's clearly stated by them that we can contribute to this ecosystem easily. They will welcome it with no initial pre-mine, no ICO project, or even marketing program. We are welcomed in mining in their pools with their great features for fun, fast, and easy.

And all of your posts are word salad, with some Thousand Island dressing on the side.
807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DERO FIRST SSL BLOCKCHAIN: CryptoNote Privacy + Smart Contracts on: April 13, 2018, 02:12:34 PM
In other news, the spikes in hashrate on the DERO network pale in comparsion to what Intensecoin is seeing: from ~4MH/s to >35MH/s. Their fork is scheduled to happen in about a month, so this ought to be interesting to watch.

808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DERO FIRST SSL BLOCKCHAIN: CryptoNote Privacy + Smart Contracts on: April 13, 2018, 11:56:38 AM
I work in network security 9-5, which has hammered concerns into my head regarding any long running process with an internet connection.

I’d personally like to have an outsider audit the existing codebase because I believe I’m not the only one concerned with the delay of code release (seen numerous threads regarding this previously). I believe it could be a solid way to assure the community of the team’s intregrety, allow them to take their time with release, and overall be a net positive for the coin and it’s stakeholders

You make a compelling argument, and in principle I don't disagree with it, or the desire to have the audit done before proceeding further with development, but on a practical level there are two issues that make this somewhat difficult: the DERO team has to believe the external audit team is both competent (ie - capable of auditing their golang code) and trustworthy (ie - not likely to run off with said code and make their own insta-fork).

I'm not saying you aren't trustworthy... but I'm not saying you are, either.

809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DERO FIRST SSL BLOCKCHAIN: CryptoNote Privacy + Smart Contracts on: April 12, 2018, 10:50:16 PM
I'd prefer just waiting the extra days/weeks for the focus of code to be released, rather than diverting attention to setup an alpha auditing group to appease a handful of community members, when the code will be changing post audit.  Seems pointless.
...

Yeah, I totally agree. @cpmcgrat has posted some good stuff in this thread, and overall I agree with his position that the code should be audited* but I also think his panties are too tightly wadded, so to speak. I also can't help but point out that this sort of complaining only tends to happen when a market is in a bear trend; everyone loved Facebook and saw no problem with its egregious data collection practices until Cambridge Analytica came along and used that data to influence much of the US to vote for The Donald (don't blame me - I always vote for the Libertarian candidate).

* -  but for very different reasons, I suspect - I'm way more concerned about bugs like the kind that enabled a hacker to take over the entire Verge network and mine 20M coins.
810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] All new, redefined zhash.pro [SNG, ZEN, HUSH, BTCP giweaway] on: April 12, 2018, 08:43:07 PM
Guys, the payouts have been sucking like a gaping chest wound the last few days again. My 2800 H/s is bringing in less than 0.15 ZEN per day on average (instead of 0.26); and in the last 10 hours I've only made 0.03 ZEN (instead of ~0.1). I really like to support smaller pools where possible, but this is getting to be so bad - and so consistently bad - that I am strongly considering switching over to evil Suprnova that has about 80% of the ZEN network hashrate.

UPDATE - I have now made less than 0.1 ZEN in the past 24 hours with 2800 Sols/s... incredible.

UPDATE 2 - the pool kicked me off around 9pm last night when I was still sitting at just under 0.1 ZEN so I switched over to Suprnova and in 11 hours have earned 0.0963 ZEN; pretty much exactly the same as the preceding 36+ hours on Zhash.pro. I'll come back if you fix things, but its going to take more than a daily message that claims "we are finding more blocks than any other similar pool."
811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: Verge Mining Pool on: April 12, 2018, 06:41:28 PM

Lol, no thanks, newbie. Clicking on that displays some Chinese gobbledygook and probably just inserted some malware into my browser.

Looks like it's time to delete system32 again and wipe the liquid paper off my monitor.

812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] DERO FIRST SSL BLOCKCHAIN: CryptoNote Privacy + Smart Contracts on: April 12, 2018, 06:04:05 PM

-o stratum+tcp://pool.dero.live:5555 -u Wallet_address.Diff+Worker1 -p x

This looks like a ccminer variant (e.g. - tpruvot); if so, then you need to specify the algo using the -a switch:

ccminer-x64 -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://pool.dero.live:5555 -u wallet.diff+workername -p x

I keep getting "no such command"..

with start_mining (for solo Mining) too

Well, that's probably because I *guessed* at what mining program you are using; how about you tell me what it is, instead, and perhaps I'll be able to help.

813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 560 hashrates on: April 12, 2018, 06:01:48 PM
since the fork i am only getting 200h/s per card when mining Sumokoin, used to be 450 hash . rx550 2gb hynix.
*I know the hash is suppoed to be lower since the fork but  not this much lower right?

Heavy uses more memory so you'll probably have to dial back intensity quite a bit. I haven't yet tried this myself because the CN coins I primarily mine have foolishly delayed switching to an ASIC resistant algo...

So, I have my RX 560's churning away on MUSIC (Ethash) instead.

Even though I am in the US, I have had the best results mining XVG with the X17 algo on yiimp.eu. Second best was with X17 on zpool.ca, but keep in mind you cannot directly mine a single coin there; you mine an algo - or algos - and can specify XVG as your payout coin; earnings, then, are hard to predict.

816  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: April 12, 2018, 01:50:56 PM
Everyone mining ZEN, it looks like the miners are about to get screwed big time as more of the block reward gets diverted to shady "supernodes" and "securenodes":

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2047435.msg34458806#msg34458806

I'm giving some serious think [sic] as to whether I want to continue mining this coin now.

Well if you have 43 coins, it's time for a node !

.... and 600 coins for a Supernode!

I saw 500 !?

Yeah, both of them are wrong...  Tongue You need 42 ZEN for a secure node and 500 ZEN for a super node.

Also, these changes are slated to go into effect in late Q3 of this year, so plenty of time to keep mining. I definitely won't continue once an effective 30% tax is in place, however (ie - only 70% of each mined block will be paid out to miners).
817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: April 12, 2018, 01:44:43 PM
When does this change go into effect, and will the block reward reported by such online calculators as https://minethecoin.com/coin/zencash need to be manually reduced from the current value of 11 to 7.7 or what?
Full implementation of this application system with Super Nodes is expected to be launched in Q4 of 2018 with a prototype available for testing at the end of Q3.

I will check second part of this question, you can see some of them still have old logo..I will probably contact them anyway. Smiley

Ah, good; I've got plenty of time to keep mining, then.
818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ZEN] ZenCash: Private, Secure, Resilient CryptoCurrency with zk-SNARKs on: April 11, 2018, 08:03:36 PM
Node operators will now receive 20% of the block rewards, which is an increase from the 3.5% previously. This 20% will be evenly split between secure nodes and super nodes. Treasury will receive 10% of block rewards, which is an increase from 8.5% previously, and miners will receive 70% of block rewards, which is a change from 88% previously.

Is it just me or is the main pool at intensecoin.com/pool/ acting funny? I keep getting disconnected and the pool is taking way longer than average to find new blocks (previous one took 1 hour and this one is up to 42 minutes, with the average at 11 minutes).
