801  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IT'S BITCOIN.ORG 15 YEARS ANNIVERSARY AND NO ONE IS CELEBRATING on: August 31, 2023, 01:54:36 AM
If theymos is not celebrating it, then we will not celebrate.  Cool

Something is wrong with Op's post or I am getting it wrong because I think Op should at least know the difference between Bitcoin.org and Bitcointalk.org. So OP I think you need to have a look again on your topic because Bitcoin.org is a hardware store and provides other information related to Bitcoin as communities, and other types of Guides etc etc. I had never seen a dedicated topic for the Bitcoin.org Aniversday.

If OP is confused with both then he should at least go for a quick go through if not I'm not sure Why because we even do celebrate different events as Pizza Day. Legal tender day upcoming infinity day etc.

Well, we celebrate the things and events related to bitcoin like Bitcoin Pizza day etc.
These are also not directly linked with bitcointalk forum anniversary, but we celebrate because they are linked with Bitcoin BTC

802  Economy / Exchanges / Re: FTX Customer Claims Portal on: August 30, 2023, 05:02:33 AM
Does compensation under Chapter 11 include all investors from all countries, or is it limited to those who are in the United States, because I read somewhere that investors from Japan will get their money because of the obligation to have deposits in a guarantee fund in that country.

Apparently, it doesn't include all FTX investors or users all over the world. The exchange's Japan platform obviously has a different process. It appears much faster and more efficient thanks primarily to the country's strict laws. As a matter of fact, refund has already been started as early as February.

FTX has been emailing to all its users for filing a claim. If they intend only to refund to few countries user like Japan and the US, then what is the point in collecting the full KYC data of all the users. Asking for proof of address is something fishy because this information was not asked at the initial KYC process at the FTX.com.

I would say that until you know and confirm that they will refund your money, it is better not to submit the documents to the scammers.
They may misuse our data and still do not process our refunds.
803  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Trade on Binance via ChatGPT! on: August 30, 2023, 03:25:18 AM
I've noticed that concerns about "what if ChatGPT misinterprets" still persist from your messages. Allow me to provide a brief overview of the process to address these worries. Each time a user sends a new message, the bot interprets it into one of three categories:

1) Prompt that don't require special functions, using ChatGPT knowledge only.
2) Prompt that require specific functions but no actions within their exchange account (e.g., price and volume inquiries).
3) Prompt that require special functions and actions within their exchange account (e.g., opening positions, canceling orders, etc.).

So basically this is like a normal trading platform except the tips, help, and agents are replaced by ChatGPT responses? Because I can't imagine ChatGPT being able to correctly time the market especially since it's not trained on recent data. If it was an in-house AI trained on financial market data, I'd understand. But ChatGPT cannot even get simple math problems right...

When i asked ChatGPT about the price of bitcoin, it simply said that it did not have the current data.
Quote
I'm sorry, but I don't have access to real-time information as my data only goes up until September 2021, and I can't browse the internet. As of my last update, the price of Bitcoin was highly volatile and could change rapidly. I recommend checking a reliable financial news website or a cryptocurrency exchange to get the most up-to-date price of Bitcoin.

Trading through chatGPT is most wired thing i have ever heard. Trading bots may perform better than ChatGPT but no one can compare the human trading with all these bot trading's.
I just wish people do not always thing to make money by fooling others because many even do not know exactly how ChatGPT words and they may take the OP words as true.
804  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: P2P Scams : Where does the government stand on: August 30, 2023, 02:54:04 AM
I remember some banks allow users to open a bank account online if the documents are enough but they will let the account under high restrictions such as low deposit and withdrawal limits, no internet banking or at least can't able to wire over certain limits until the account holder provides all the documents by the bank office.

Even if the account opened online have less deposit/ withdrawals limits, yet the scammers are happy scamming to that limit and getting the free money. Give them any loopholes and they are ready to exploit them.

I guess the banking system becomes more lenient which is one of the reasons why they started to fail at some point.

The banking system is not lenient, they try to give facilities to their customers that they can open accounts and do all the transactions while staying at the comfort of their homes. However, they should introduce more strict measures like thumb verification and facial verifications and due to the advancement of the technology, these things can be done online.
805  Other / Meta / Re: Request for unbanned my account. on: August 30, 2023, 12:09:56 AM
I apologize for my mistake. I won't do this again in the future. But please forgive me this time and give me another chance to prove myself. I will refrain from plagiarizing this in future. I hope you will forgive my mistake and give me another chance to prove myself.

Everyone admits their mistakes once they are caught for plagiarizing and getting banned. This means that all of those banned accounts should be given a chance or this privilege of "One Chance" should only be given to you  Huh

Initially you admitted that you have copied two lines, but other people have figured out that you have copied and translated the whole post.
You will not be unban, therefore there is no point for you to keep on appealing and looking for a 2nd chance. You're wasting time.
806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Breaking] Grayscale wins lawsuit to convert GBTC to Spot ETF! on: August 29, 2023, 03:22:03 PM
Yeah i just received a message from Coingecko and was amazed to see the price as few hours ago I checked the price and it was around 26,100$ I think. Well, I really was amazed how market made movements.I quickly told my friend and then another friend. One of my friend said, he is analyzing the market I said ok when you find the factor then tell me. Hehe. I mean he used to stretch things up a little bit.

Well, I also tried to watch some news and I saw grayscale won the case against SEC. And this might be the only factor that causes this up trend. Well, let's see what comes next.

I also saw this message on my mobile and it was a surprise to see a big green candle after days and weeks of consolidation.

This is surely a big win for the Grayscale and a major setback for the SEC. This will also strengthen the case for Blackrock's approval for ETF.
I will not say that this will bring a bull run in the market but this will surely kill the many negative sentiments that were recently floating in the market.
807  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Newbie Currency exchange on: August 29, 2023, 01:21:44 PM
He is a 100% scammer.
After I contacted him, he claimed that he was the Financial Manager at Cennox, and he claimed that his Telegram photo was his real photo inside the company.

You contacted him and exposed him but generally, if any newbie posts such a thread, it is already a red alert and none of us should make a deal/transaction with a Newbie member with no reputation.
If anyone gets scammed by a newbie, then it is 100% his own fault.

By the way that currency exchange thread has already been deleted, and OP must have known by now that he had chosen the wrong forum to scam the users.
808  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? on: August 29, 2023, 07:46:43 AM
What if there is no crypto bull run for next 10 years ? Will you give up all your investments and get out of crypto because of this ? Or do you you have even more broader horizon and can wait longer to see the next bull run ?

Personally, I am very much positive with bitcoin future but we should also be prepared for all situations. Nothing can be guarantee in present times and we must also be prepared for worst situations.
How can you be optimistic about Bitcoin but on the one hand ask the question what if the crypto market had not had a bull run in 10 years, Before this was asked of course it had already been in your mind and an optimist would never have thought of that.
If crypto, especially Bitcoin, does not have a bull run anymore or for 10 years, it means that Bitcoin is no longer just a commodity of exchange but has been used more as a means of payment, such as fiat, whose price movements will be more stable, because people will no longer save to earn profits but use it massively in the world for transactions and its original purpose as a currency was achieved.

He is not optimistic about bitcoin, but he is rather Pessimistic about bitcoins and therefore he can't see the bull run in the next 10 years.

Yes, anyone can say that Bitcoin makes all time high every four years and this time it won't repeat the same pattern but for this to happen we need the world fiat system to flourish, inflation to come all the way down and interest rates of fiat money to increase so that people are encouraged to keep their money in paper money and not invest in risky markets such as bitcoins and cryptocurrencies.

However, I do not see the above happening anytime soon and therefore people will be accumlating bitcoin in order to hegde against inflation and it is every possibility that Bitcoin will make another all time high in less than 2 years from now.
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: August 29, 2023, 06:01:04 AM
The big question was whether Trump would benefit from the conviction drama or not. And I guess we have the definite answer by now. An array of opinion pollsters are now showing Donald Trump with a big lead over Joe Biden in nation-wide polling. The one from Emerson puts Trump at 46%, compared to 44% for Biden, while the poll from New York Post has Trump ahead by 3 points (Biden-41%, Trump-44%). Biden had a comfortable lead two weeks ago, but the situation has now reversed. Still, it would be premature to reach a conclusion. We need to wait for a few more weeks to see whether the poll numbers stay the same.

There is one trend that is being popular in my country and that is that overseas Pakistanis in the US will NOT be voting for Joe Biden and the reason is that he is the one who was responsible for regime change in our country without the will of the Public of Pakistan.

Quote
OVERSEAS PAKISTANI’S Breaking News :

All Pakistani American citizens have ENBLOC made a declaration they do NOT intend voting for Biden or the Democrats because of their interference to REMOVE Imran Khan from the Prime Minister’s post.
However they will vote ENBLOC for the American Republicans if they promise to bring back Imran Khan to power as the Prime Minister of Pakistan 🇵🇰

The Pakistani Americans have categorically told American politicians who ever will support Corrupt Pakistani Army Generals & Tyrant Corrupt PML-N & PPP they will NOT get votes from them.

Hats off and salutes to Pakistani Americans 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I do not know how much it will influence the result of this US election but still, if anyone is betting on the election, he can take this factor into account as well.

Although overseas citizens have voting right but mainly it is the vote of the US citizens who can make or break any presidential candidate win or lose in the elections. I do not think that such a small community can have any significant impact on the elections.

To be frank, right now it is hard for to guess who will win this 2024 elections. The Biden government have increases interest rates throughout the last few months which have help to fight against the inflation and this act of him may benefit him to get more votes as compared to the other candidates.
810  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC vs Binance on: August 28, 2023, 03:36:45 AM
user210822,pawel7777 If it is very simple to explain, then try to understand what the Binance exchange has been doing in recent years in the US and European countries.
Binance created firms such as Binance US, but in reality the exchange was not very interested in where their customers came from and gave everyone the opportunity to trade on their main exchange with huge liquidity. The laws were observed formally and this is a big slap in the face of financial regulators. Binance obtains licenses in other countries, and all of its clients will work there, but through other jurisdictions.

Binance is facing many issues with the regulators not just in the USA but globally. Recently if you heard that Binance limits withdrawals in Europe, cites payment processor issues, due to their issues with Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA).

This is not good for binance at all as people will lose their trust in this exchange. Also, i think the SEC want to bring this exchange down and slowly and steadily they are moving towards their goal.

Many people are saying that bitcoin has not seen its all-time low for this bear market and perhaps the Binance collapse may take bitcoin below 15K. Even if it does not happen, then for sure after the bull market in 2024/2025, there may be anytime where the binance collapse could trigger the next bear market. Who knows what's coming up  Huh
811  Economy / Economics / Re: Increase in stable coins adoption might just be the key to crpyto dominance. on: August 28, 2023, 03:09:13 AM
What value stablecoins settle? Go to any supermarket in the world and you'll see people paying with Visa or Mastecard every single minute. But where are the stablecoin payments?  I never encountered a business, even a small one, that accepts stablecoins.

My guess is that most of the activity on stablecoin network is speculative trading, especially by bots. If someone shut down stablecoins tomorrow, the world wouldn't notice. If someone shut down Visa tomorrow, that would be Armageddon.
Many countries are actually adopting crypto as a legal means of payment the only reason visa is still more in use is because many firms are not accepting crypto payments yet and I mean your supermarkets and other physical business that uses faits. And for now there isn't much demand for crypto payments for offline vendors. And I think you haven't read the article yet to see what I'm really talking bout

I won't agree that crypto payments are increasing globally. The USA and the SEC policies and regulations are all against crypto (bitcoin in particular) and since they know that people are not getting back from the cryptocurrencies, so they have decided to build stablecoins which are no different than fiat money except they can be digitally transmitted.

The CBDC is one step in this case where every country will have its own stablecoins (which will be fully in control by the governments). Similarly, the big companies are also trying to introduce stable coins for example Paypal  PYUSD. etc
These are all the steps forcing people to leave bitcoin and keep money in centralized control stable coins.
812  Other / Meta / Re: Request: New Local Board for Pakistan (Urdu) on: August 27, 2023, 07:06:25 PM
Again, I hope that till 2025 we will be able to achieve our own local board, as I am excited for the upcoming time as these increasing stats just boil the blood and motivate more.

So are aiming for 2025 to get your local board by that time. Well, don't you think 2025 is still too far away and we are still in the 3rd quarter of 2023 or do you want to get your local board in the bull season Wink

If there are no technical reasons, I think you will get your board much earlier. The only thing that may delay the local board is if Theymos has some other plans and he is not willing to add more boards (though he has added the Nigerian board recently). Otherwise, Your people's efforts diverse you a local board.
813  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Unstoppable wallet {User experiences} on: August 27, 2023, 06:30:13 PM
Open source, Non-custodial, Private, and support for many coins are the reasons I chose this wallet including available charts to analyze the market.
It is a good altcoins wallet. For Bitcoin, it supoort native segwit and pay-to-taproot addresses, but it is not supporting many other features. The one I most consider is to support replace-by-fee, but not supporting it.

If you need better bitcoin wallet, use Electrum, Sparrow or Bluewallet. Others are Blockstream Green, Samourai and Specter.

Usually when we talk about using the Unstoppable wallet, the main purpose is to store our altcoins in that wallet. For Bitcoin storage, Electrum is recommended.

By the way, currently i know that Trust Wallet is most widely used to store the altcoins but as it is closed source, i prefer unstoppable wallet.
Do we have any other wallet (apart from hardware wallets) that is better than the Unstoppable wallet for the altcoins ?

815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / BlackRock wants to reduce the price of Bitcoin on: August 27, 2023, 04:08:14 PM
There have been rumours in the market recently that black rock wants to accumulate more bitcoins, but at more reduced rates and for this they will make the market crash more. I don't know if this news is really true or if it is just a rumour.

This is one dark side of these giants that they will never play fair. They have enough money to influence the crypto market which is still at the very initial stage and move the market according to their wish.

816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I go with Bitcoin or Altcoins for the upcoming bull run cycle? on: August 27, 2023, 03:45:44 PM
It depends what your risk tolerance is & how much capital you have to invest. For me personally I would advise bitcoin only, I was an early adopter though so I am in a different position maybe. You can make more money in certain alts but you are playing the altcoin roulette then aren’t you. You are just as likely to get rugged or something. If you buy bitcoin now you could make 5 or 6 x your money in the bull run. If you buy the right alts you could do a lot more than 5 or 6 x. It depends how much risk you are comfortable with though.

Going with Bitcoin is safer than buying and accumulating the altcoins. The main reason for this is that we know that bitcoin will reach its all time high in the next cycle but we cannot say with certainty about altcoins. Also, there are so many altcoins, and we never know if the altcoins we invest in, may not perform as expected or may not be available by the time we have the next bull season.

There are many altcoins that perform well in one bull cycle but are nowhere to be found in the next bull cycle. Due to this, we should invest the majority of our portfolio in bitcoin and only risk a small percentage by accumulating good altcoins.
817  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: !! Warning !! Bitget Exchange on: August 25, 2023, 07:27:39 AM
That's the best action to do so that he can verify this accusation and give his side since if someone will just post this in behalf of him in this forum maybe this will stir up something then we cannot get any accurate information regarding on this case.
But also hope we can see Bitget can read this thread and answer the warning posted against them since this can help them and this community to know more information regarding on this issue.
Look, after six days the @OP didn't comeback to reply even though he's active everyday and keep making post in other sections. Seems like he only want to hurt this project and don't want to give clarification whether he want to continue to accuse this project or admit he was wrong.

Since the campaign is already stopped [FIN] Bitget.com | Trade Smarter | Signature Campaign ~ Hero/Legendary, @OP already get what he want.

Was the purpose of the OP to stop the Signature Campaign???

Also, i do not think that the campaign was stopped because of his scam accusation. Bitget wants to focus on other things, and they will come back to the campaign sometime later. That was told when the campaign was put on hold.

And I believe this scam accusation hasn't had any effect on their business too as they are getting 10M monthly traffic as shown by the statics sites like Similar Web.
818  Economy / Economics / Re: Having a problem a Personal Finance? on: August 25, 2023, 06:41:14 AM
       -   You, yes, you. Are you tired? Can't make progress? Or every time you move forward, something bad always happens? Are you in a situation where you have to start from scratch again? Where does your problem start? in money? Why do you always have no money?

Are these problems really related to finance  Huh  Finance problems happen when you have enough money but you are unable to manage it properly.

If you are unable to make progress in your current job role or business and if everything to try turns out be against you, then it is not the financial issues but rather it is something related to your skills which you are not competent at or perhaps you do not know how to run a particular business and always end up in a loss.
819  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take your eyes off from the fall in price on: August 25, 2023, 06:20:38 AM
Do not let the price of bitcoin right now make you give up on you investment plans, the drop in price is just a distraction to make you take a decision that can make you regret of the better days of the market coming.

Those who are new investors of Bitcoin, they may get nervous when they see some big dumps of Bitcoin and think that Bitcoin may never recover again. For those, it is best not to look at the price all the time. This may provoke them to sell out their investments.

For other people too, looking at the price charts 24/7, is not the right approach if you are making investments. Trading is something else where you need to keep updated about the price as your trade is time bound but for investment purposes, just make up your mind that you won't sell bitcoin until 6 months or a year, depending on the plan with which you have invested.
820  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: P2P Scams : Where does the government stand on: August 25, 2023, 04:15:28 AM
Risk number 1 is P2P exchange, risk number 2 is to hold money on a centralized exchange, risk number 3 is the use of bank cards for exchange.
With such risks, the probability of getting problems is very high and you need to distance yourself from these risks as much as possible.

Well, P2P is one of the best and quickest way to convert your bitcoins to fiat and vice versa and it is the only option in parts of the world where the bitcoin is not legal.

To minimize the risk, one can deposit a small amount at the centralized exchange, perform a P2P transaction with limited funds only (many small transactions instead of one big transactions) and then (in case they have bought bitcoin), get the bitcoin withdrawn from the centralized exchange to the personal wallet. If one has a large amount to do the conversion, they should follow the process over and over again without exposing too much money at a single time.
