801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How exactly do you find new tokens before they blow up. on: December 18, 2023, 02:04:50 PM
Communities, this forum, exchanges, and more. You just have to be patient reading articles and to be linked with them thru various social media platforms. Point here is that, you'd be able to find various tokens to be released or projects to be introduced to us but we cannot invest to all of it at once. This is where our 'work' would matter the most. On which one to blow up is another thing simply because no one will have the assurance. This is why it would be better to just ride the tide; follow popularity and noise of those projects and not solely with concept or roadmap. We just see how those tokens blew up but not the fact that most are not even making an impression.
802  Economy / Economics / Re: Pay discrimination on: December 18, 2023, 01:31:24 PM
Well it is not because of manpower alone. Knowledge with higher positions do usually cost more than with studying skill based jobs. Will this ever change? Depends on the demand. There are countries wherein Blue collar jobs are being paid higher than with what's usual. It also depends on the economy of a country on which would be more appreciated and be more in demand. With corporate jobs, they generate more money which enables them to be paid higher as well, does makes sense. Life simply works in such way and life was never fair. You need to stand out in order to be appreciated in any industry. If you have the same set of skills as with the majority then how come you'd be paid with huge amount.
803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The risk and reward of having Bitcoin on: December 18, 2023, 12:54:14 PM
Just a normal set of things for Bitcoin investors. Actually those things mentioned by OP is also present with other assets and investments; it is just that volatility and risk are higher with Bitcoin and other cryptos.
Risk is when you invest without knowing anything. Knowing all the right strategies and using a secure wallet to hold bitcoins will reduce the risk and keep the money safe. Bitcoin investment is more profitable with less risk of halving. The rate at which bitcoin investment volumes are growing has guaranteed a huge upside rather than a halving. Everyone has high expectations for bitcoin investment.
No matter how knowledgeable you are, as long as there's no assurance of profit then there would be risk. Knowledge can only lessen the risk present but will never make it vanish to any investment.Expectations toward Bitcoin investment on the other hand, is due to what we have witnessed over years.
804  Economy / Gambling / Re: tell me the best online casino on: December 17, 2023, 11:59:20 PM
I want to play online casino which has the following criteria,
1. of course not a scam online casino
2. there are slots, roulette and versus (player vs player) games
3. there are deposit bonuses and free spins for new players
4. there is a daily bonus (points or free spins)
5. easy and fast withdrawal process (doesn't have many rules)
Best ones are the reputable ones in this industry. You can name many as others have mentioned already however, there is no perfect gambling site or platform. On my end what makes a gambling site better than any other sites, is their way of solving player related concerns. Perhaps with your preferred easy and fast withdrawal, there are just times rules will be implemented to avoid issues such as laundering. And most of the time, there is a reviewing process especially if the amount is big for withdrawal. We just have to accept some of the flaws.
805  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does match fixing concern you often? on: December 17, 2023, 11:51:11 PM
Well, basically yes. It is unfair to gamblers who are betting on their luck. Not all gamblers in the first place can afford a VIP Signal group to also be able to know the fixed matches and outcomes. However, from being here for years, I have never encountered problems related to it probably because of the sports I am engaging myself with which is in NBA. Match fixing is less evident to bigger leagues which quite lessen my worries.
What have your experiences about this been? Is match fixing considered a common occurrence in leagues you place bets at?
I believe match-fixing still occurs, regardless of whether it happens in a league that is not very popular or one that is very popular in Europe.
but for me, it doesn't affect my betting. because I bet on the league that I follow. I am not saying that the EPL cannot be separated from match-fixing. if there is a report, there will be an inspection, and I don't care about that. I only bet on teams that I like and whose league developments I follow.
Match fixing may be more visible in leagues that people don't pay much attention to or are not major leagues.
but it might be quite annoying when we bet on a match where there is already match-fixing, so the results may be very visible and not according to what was predicted.
As others have mentioned, it still occurs with smaller leagues such as local mobile game tournaments to just name one. It would be frustrating to lose and know that even before the match starts, there are already players who know which team would win.
806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you take time to read the terms and conditions of casinos before registering? on: December 17, 2023, 04:38:06 PM
For sure most of us are too lazy to do so. Outcome, there are people who are suprised with sudden changes of rules and to be more specific, implication of KYC procedures. If you are concerned of something, then it would make sense putting more time into it and that includes reading stuff necessary and relevant to where would you be putting your money in.
If you managed to read the terms and conditions until the end, then you're definitely not an average person. Who wants to read that lengthy and boring text when all you want is to sign up for entertainment like an online casino? You only become concerned about the terms and conditions if you encounter an issue after agreeing to them. While these conditions may include many of the complaints that users have, it's understandable that people don't often take the time to read them.
Terms are not what gamblers pay attention to, more precisely, casinos also need players to stay out of trouble and the process to be extremely simple, register to deposit, withdraw and transfer money in just a few minutes is the introduction and guidance I received, although sometimes there are some more complicated cases, the casino team still shows their sophistication and agility. In general, terms and conditions are not equal to actual experience, reading a lot will not help us win, determined to have fun, we should avoid wasting time with such platitudes.
Terms and condition are far from your tendencies of winning your bets. It speaks to your overall experience and services to avail during your stay on their platform. It is not a waste of time unless you don't care about possible changes perhaps with wagering requirements, deposit and withdraw amounts, maintainances and more.
807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prove me wrong: Gambling is both more relaxing and entertaining than trading! on: December 17, 2023, 03:31:46 PM
Has something to do with visuals, basically. Is there something exciting with price charts in red or green? Also these two has different idea. Perhaps with statistics in both concepts. The pnly way trading will be associated in gambling is when you are having no plans for your trade; without any pattern to follow and without any strategy being used. With gambling, you may base on player's stats or team composition to help you create a decision. Gambling is more enjoyed as well simply because even without money involved, perhaps with sports, it is already entertaining. While with trading, most of the time, those who enjoy doing it are ones which are profitable or often having winning trades unlike with gambling wherein you would still be able to somehow enjoy despite of the outcome.
808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: December 17, 2023, 02:37:01 PM
Don't we all have it? We just tend to control it which helps us avoid addiction. Mine is with frustration of losses wherein I struggled for months when I started gambling. Eventually I managed to control it by setting limits on the amount I would be betting on each day. Emotions are innevitable to take place gigen that we have expectations on our every bet especially that it involves money; something which is necessary in our daily lives.
Let's start with the simple choice: Do you consider yourself to have a gambling problem affecting your happiness, security, relationships, finances, etc? (Yes or No)
No, I gamble regardless of any problems be it family, finances, happiness and so on, which make me miserable, I have reasons for all of that.

1. My family never knows about gambling.
2. I placed a bet not with my salary.
3. I gamble just to look for challenges and experience.
4. I gamble for myself, I also use the money I win from gambling for myself, my family doesn't take part.

So, for the reasons above, of course you understand how I gamble, of course it doesn't hinder any action I take, including happiness.
Where are you getting your money then if it is not from your salary? Actually it is not a bad thing using a portion of your salary, just avoid using that much. But good thing you are not problematic in any aspect in this activity.
809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you confident betting on handicap for heavy favorites or heavy underdog? on: December 17, 2023, 11:12:58 AM
I'll tell you . Whenever I look at my game and see that I have more bet on the favorites than the underdog, I know immediately that if I don't have a rethink I am going to lose. Over time betting on the underdogs is a crucial ingredient to winning. There was a club recently that beat Barcelona even though they ended up crashing out of the league. They were the underdogs and many people including myself would have bet on the favorites to win but they didn't. It happens in all sports and I learned the hard way to not underestimate the underdogs and over estimate the favorites.
Betting on the underdog will give you bigger profit but with bigger risk as well. On the other hand, crowd favorite does not guarantee winning so better manage your funds well and avoid going all out. Just make a bet; no one could tell other than the result. I say depend on your analysis and not with the pulse of majority in order to avoid regrets no matter the outcome is at the same time it is where we would be confident of.
Since this is more like a survey I can give my little experiences. I'm a newbie in sport betting I don't go to the underdogs, I only bet on my favorites, and the odds are not usually high so basically go to top leagues and place my bet.

I don't even know what the handicap and underdogs mean because I'm never interested on such I just focus on the tops leagues especially basketball and football hence I bet on straight winning or any side can win that where usually win. so since I'm always winning with that any side can strategy I just stick to it and keep it going.
For sure we all have that experience. Most of the time I am going with my favorite as well simply because I'm betting for excitement and no longer solely for profit. Quite silly to think that when you are having gut feelingof winning big, that is the time you are losing. So I'll say just enjoy it.
810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Type of gambling and Intelligence on: December 15, 2023, 06:29:10 PM
Gambling is purely played based on luck. There is no secrets to ensure winnings. While you are correct in a way, one needs to have certain level of intelligence to play certain games but it is not required for all of them. If you talk about sports gambling then if the person had much knowledge of sports then he could easily bet multiple time and win. Yes he has to be lucky enough. But having knowledge certainly has it's benefits.
In sportsbetting, we could only increase the chance of winning by creating a good analysis of teams, players, and overall stats but will never guarantee a win, therefore avoid betting that much no matter how confident you are. Anything could happen within or during the game; even fighters which are least expected to win could still pull it out if things would happen in accordance to him. Intelligence in gambling speaks for the way you manage your funds and handle consequences of your bet. Even if you are a genius, if you are unlucky for that day, then expect nothing less than losing. Being aware of chances is simply a show of intelligence already for us gamblers.
811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers trickily claims they wins the bet while they never did. on: December 15, 2023, 05:42:02 PM
More of an egoistic approach to some. Only a few gambler could really acknowledge that they are in loss or simply not profitable in gambling. However it is a normal thing to los, what would matter is the amount you already have lost in this industry. Those who are faking their winnings are simply the ones who are creating an image that they are a good gambler for the sake of clout. On my end, it would be better not to be delusional simply because claim you are winning but not in the reality will just push you to gamble and embrace the risk, than to learn and accept how things are really going for this industry. Their goal is to at least feel positive of themselves.
812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A hero or a fool? on: December 14, 2023, 06:20:05 PM
Self exclusion as others have mentioned. Well it might sound hard to some but it is a valid thing to do especially if it is by his own will or for his own good. Not all people have the initiative to impose self discipline to oneself. To some, cutting the connection or closing the door, is the only way they could restrict oneself from a particular thing. Casinos won't voluntarily do that simply because it would be a loss of customer to them. However if the question is would I be doing the same thing, then the answer is it depends.  If I am not being able to function on a daily basis, then I probably would also do it. But if it is from others then it is just a thing to consider 'coz you know yourself more than anyone else. If you will be left with no choice then you'd be the one to engage with adjustment.
I was reading some comments on line today and a story caught my attention, and I want to know how possible this is.

A guy claimed he won $5000 on a poker machine and that's where his addiction began, and when it get to the point that he lost his rent money to gambling he decide to take matters in his one way.

He proceeded by going to gaming commission and had his name banned by himself, ( Someone please tell me how this is possible?) never seen such in my country before. he claimed he still go back to casinos at times and he knew he can't ever win big again, because his name was flagged in the system, and if he win big they won't pay him.

He said he was limited to winning $200, that anymore than this he would have to sign his name and be subject to prosecution for trespassing. He claimed his move took his joy out from gambling real fast, and now he haven't been near a casino in over 10 years.

What do you think? This is an insanely move on oneself to stop addiction, something done right? Would you do the same if such is possible in your country?

I always find it a bit odd when people have to do things like get themselves banned in order to fight a habit. Is it really that difficult to control your own actions? I understand people get addicted to things, but having to go this far in order to get others to keep your habit in check rather than just controlling your own behavior seems odd to me.
Well yes, in some instances there are people who cannot themselves. We are different from one another, we could also make the changes or have our own preferences as well. If those who are getting addicted to this industry are not having the resources to quit something in a proper way, then they often create their solution right away.
813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Target your wins in a series of bets on: December 14, 2023, 05:33:22 PM
This is my approach and through it, I don't get depress over few loses. This method works for me and I feel it will also work for others. Your opinion are highly welcomed.
Can you explain better?

You can give the name of the games you are playing to win 4 times and lose 6 times and get you profit. You can let us know the odds that you are selecting also.
Quite confusing indeed. Never heard and experienced having a fixed win rate in gambling 'coz that is something you won't be able to control as we all know. But I do get the idea of this series of bets somehow wherein you'd be betting for a particular quantity of bets 'til you achieve winning, however, as I said, things will not be consistent.
Still helpful 'coz still you will be having control over the number of bets you would be making and amount of money you'd probably lose. Even with games wherein analysis do work. However, forcing it will not do you any good. Problem is if you are lacking discipline to keep boundaries on the number of amount you are ready to deal with.
814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A gambler takes his own life after a loss. on: December 14, 2023, 04:46:06 PM
Just sad seeing how people are suffering from their own decisions. No one pushed us to gamble, it is with our own will and initiative especially with the amount we will be wagering. I am not blaming this man and also others who had the same experience but to emphasize this as a lesson; setting limitation is not a bad thing. It is better to accept a loss of 50% of your total bankroll than to lose everything. We are all prone to negative feelings such as regrets after a loss simply because we're just humans. Best thing is to always set a 'stop loss' to anything and to change our minds to not rely too much with your luck. Always be mindful that there is a tendency to lose which should be enough as a warning. Bet huge and you'll earn big, yes, but oonly if you are lucky enough no matter what odds is present.
815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The need for mental section or public orientation for new gamblers. on: December 13, 2023, 11:56:41 PM
Yes it would help but it just depends to the gamblers whether they would be having the initiative to interact in such board in this forum. If it is just discussions, there are too many to engage however if you just feel like you don't then you won't. There are even articles outside this forum, warnings we see from different platforms, but why do people still become a victim of gambling addiction? 'coz things won't work that way. Instead of  asking such discussion about how to escape from addiction, we should be more preventive of the exposure. But again, if the gambler is not as willing as with us, then no action will make sense 'coz they will just continue doing their thing until they reach addiction on their own. Things are in our hands.
816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 13, 2023, 11:44:24 PM
Does make sense to limit your time gambling but if it is to boost the sense of responsibility playing, it would still be better to limit your fund on each time you would be playing. Reason is that, with time it depends on your availability and circumstances which is more easily to not be followed.
Shorting your play time in gambling is the best strategy in gambling, apart from knowing how to manage your bankroll, don't spend too much time on a casino game, the longer the time you spent the more you lose, this is the truth that many gamblers won't accept at first until they realize it later.

For them it's about your addiction, and that's what brings in more money, and I am here to announce to you that time fixation is also a good way in gambling, spending 20 minutes in casino a day is better than someone who spend 1 hour.

1. Have a amount limit you can risk on gambling every week.

2. Choose your favourite day in a week for gambling.

3. Have a time count down when gambling, to avoid spending too much time.

Go back home or close your laptop once your time is up, and wait for the coming day, go back to your daily life and business, chase your goals using your business and invest more money on assets.

Do you agree or disagree? Drop your reason why.

Everything you said above is part of gambling responsibly and people who are safe or not become gambling addicts will definitely apply methods like those on your list.  Responsible gambler, will never want to get themselves into trouble, they will always try hard to control their desire to gamble because they know there are other things they have to do in real life, they can't possibly play 24 hours a day.  Just pay attention, usually a gambler wins big in the first few hours he plays, not when he plays for many hours.
No certainty that a gambler would win within few hours of playing time. It just depends on your luck for that day. Keep in mind that we cannot control the outcome in any gambling game even with sportsbetting wherein analysis do help; anything could still happen during every game.
817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one is fun, watching with bet or without a bet? on: December 13, 2023, 01:29:50 PM
Obviously it is with bet. Watching would give you entertainment already but since you are here in this industry then probably you are seeking for more; thrill. I do enjoy watching the games since I am into sportsbetting and sports in general. But with bets, things are getting more exciting. There's no need for huge amount, the consequence of losing any amount from wrong assumption is what giving flavor to the experience. However, those who are not into gambling would more likely choose watching alone and without any amount involved.
Just trying to get the communities opinion based on their experience about the topic.

Personally, a a bettor, I find it very stressful when watching the game you are betting especially if it will end up a losing bet.

If we have the same experience, how do you cope up with that problem, after all, gambling should be fun but why we have this kind of feeling that we feel disappointed when our bet loses?

Because we want to win, even though we treat gambling as a getaway and just want to have fun, we subconsciously want to win a game because it is money that we are going to win, if we want to feel good in gambling we can shake it off and easily move on but if we have winning money in our mind it will take some time to move on.
Gambling is played with emotion and hope, so it's just right that we feel disappointed when losing and excited when losing, it's an emotional roller coaster that is why gambling is addictive because we can feel all the emotions and we feel alive gambling.
Of course, same idea with the phrase 'bet an amount you can afford losing' which is obviously not true. We can only bear the consequence but there will always be the desire to win and to earn profit. Even with the smallest amount, negative feeling will still take place after a loss.
818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you wrap up your gambling session? on: December 11, 2023, 11:56:26 PM
Sort of. I tend to track my loss and profit on each day I would be gambling but never the times I won a match or game.  One reason is to help myself be aware of the amount I could use to bet on the next day or time I would be wanting to. In such way I am avoiding surprise that could yield to frustration.
How about you do you wrap up your sessions and how many minutes or hours and do you think it's ok to do a wrap-up?
It will not be bad if gamblers can actually wrap up their gambling for the year just as they do with business and some other things, so that they can have more money to spend on family for the holidays where they are a lot of expenses. The holiday season is regularly fun, so gambling for fun should not be an excuse to gamble unless you are already an addict to gambling. Addicted gamblers cannot stay off gambling, and this holiday season is a time where we will see many of them. Worst situation for some families, they will not be able to have a pleasant festive season because the money that should have been meant for it has been gambled away.
Being aware is never a bad thing. It would be preventive of any negative feeling and if you end up with profit once you wrap things up, then at least you would be able to enjoy spending your money more. It is also where you would be having conclusions on how much would you be spending next time. or if adjustments should be done.
819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trend or long term projects? on: December 11, 2023, 11:42:09 PM
Crypto revolves around demand so riding the trend or hype isn't a bad option. Investing to Long term projects is a good idea as well, however not all long term projects are succeeding. Nothing has the assurance so stick with what's obvious. In most instances, short term projects and investments are the more profitable ones and most of the time, long term projects are ones which are dying on its road. One big example is memetokens which are quite of a trend nowadays. Most of it are succeeding which supports the idea of following the trend when choosing a project to invest. You may also choose both thru diversification of your assets than go all out to one alone.
820  Economy / Economics / Re: On retirement on: December 11, 2023, 11:17:31 PM
What term retirement usually denotes to is, to stop working. People often don't like job, so to retire usually tends to be on top of the list. However, if one likes what he does, he will do something similar to pass the time even after retirement.

Now, I'll be honest, I dunno what I am driving at but I wanted to spark topic about retirement. Now, you go,
Retirement does not mean you don't like the job, you just age and everyone basically does. You couldn't work forever 'coz there are factors to consider; physical capacity to work, health capacity, and life satisfaction wherein won't you be wanting to enjoy life at least before you get to that 'point' of every living organism? Now another factor is the age you will be choosing to retire. There is an early retirement option to some people especially those who are financially stable already before meeting the retirement age. Some are retiring early due to health conditions. So I'd say it is quite of a privilege to employees.
Most people do not want to think about retiring early if they have not yet reached retirement age or their working capacity and health are still guaranteed. Maybe they are passionate and love their job or because they want to work and make money. I see many people thinking about retiring when they reach age but they continue to do personal work or open a business. There's a lot to worry about financially, depending on each country's welfare system and conditions. If someone wants to think of retiring early, it means they have other plans, a preference for more free time, or simply time to take care of their family.

Everyone's expectations from retirement are different. Some people like to work and have their daily routine, while others like to sit down and do things they want from time to time. One of the most important things to say about retirement is that the pension should enable a person to live comfortably.

It is also difficult for people who have been working for years and have a habit to make a retirement decision. As you mentioned, there are people with different expectations. While some continue their habits, others may hesitate to enter a new life that retirement will bring.
It just depends on the situation. Those who are still doing their hobby is a different context from working for ir, at their retirement age. Doing it as a hobby doesn't require you the same amount of time. Also to consider, would they still be paid if they would do the same thing upon retirement?
