I tried this before. The miner indeed send fake shares resulting in a temporary ban from the pool.
Didn't try the last version though.

I would be more worry about the possibility of a malware in the software.
What if this miner become the vector for a future attack ?

Fake or duplicates? Or both?

Guys, it seems some suspicious russian proprietary miner kachur is very popular already. I'd like to say that this mining software seems SCAM. I banned several miners after I found duplicate share vulnerability and all miners spotted in logs with attempt to submit duplicate share were using this software. Stay away from not trusted developers, there is no even BCT thread for this miner.

If you are trusted person, we can test this miner in isolation, I'll run test pool and can give you early binaries, because after vulnerability fix they probably deleted duplicate submission functionality.

Why on some pools the network is 107kH and on other is 53 kH. Is this coin forked ? And the official pool is with 5% fee, not - 0.75% .

Because some pools didn't change block time value from 60 to 120 seconds in node-cryptonote-pool frontend.

I found out that another way to make this work is by using a proxy server. I looked for JSON-RPC proxy servers and only found two of them.

Maybe I misunderstood, why not just set up nginx as reverse proxy with SSL if you need SSL? You don't need special json-rpc proxies because it's just plain-old http.

Their total HR has now declined a bit but with the # of miners they have the avg HR per miner is 25,000 H/s Huh

Most likely that is a few extremely large miners (botnets, farms, etc.) pushing up the average.

Happens every day for very long time. I guess it's huge botnet from big continent, this is a reason why net hash fluctuates so hard. At night people shutting down PCs and net hash falls down.

Just a quick heads up to everyone here.

If you are mining or running a pool please make sure you are running the latest version and we recommending starting the daemon with --enforce-dns-checkpoints to allow us to provide up-to-date checkpoints without needing to download a new build or static file. Only available in source from github for now. Binaries have some build problem we are still working out.

Thanks all!

My pool updated.

Pool is down? Cannot connect and website is down so I suppose that's a dumb question. The odd part is that I can't connect to crypto-pool.fr either. Normally that would make me say that it's me, but I can connect and mine on mine.moneropool.org

What's going on?

Hosting issue, something wrong on their side, hopefully will be back tomorrow.
831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore CryptoNote GPU Miner v7.0 - Windows and Linux on: September 17, 2014, 09:59:55 PM
I uploaded v7.0 for Linux:

- Added Linux support.
- Added GPU fan control ("-tt" option).

Tested in Cent 6.5 and Ubuntu 14.04.
v7.0 for Windows (with fans control) will be available in a day.

Here we go, I think lots of linux gpu farms will be unleashed soon.

Error: refresh failed: no connection to daemon. Please, make sure daemon is running. Blocks received 0

Updated to new wallet from the OP
Wtf is this error and how to fix it ?

You have to launch bitmonerod.exe and sync it. Wallet will connect to daemon and scan blockchain.

Is there a cut and paste response we can give on threads for people who are looking for anonymity? There's one over on r/bitcoin now and some are recommending mixers--pointed out the single point of failure inherent with mixers, but don't have the technical expertise to explain why Monero is a better means to anonymity.

Look at FAQ on http://www.monero.cc. Good and short description of Monero anonymity essence.

Thank you. Not sure if I can work with that on the thread though. Here's their question, "If I bought bitcoin on coinbase, and then sent them to an offline wallet I own, and used those to then purchase say a server slot over tor. Would there be anything linking me to that purchase? Other than the fact that I used to own those coins?" Wouldn't they have to convert to an anonymous coin and then back to bitcoin again if they want to be sure they haven't left any tracks? Better to do it all with an anonymous coin, but that might not be an option for them.

Coinbase know your bank account, know you BTC address. It's possible to trace it, NSA can use law or soldering iron to retrieve your BTC address from coinbase. Easy way to hide - transfer BTC to exchange, buy monero, withdraw, transfer monero to another wallet with mixin 7+, transfer to another exchange, sell, transfer to new BTC wallet, pay from it. Weird =)

And you must use several accounts and VPN. Monero can give you anonymous transactions, the rest of your activity can be traced anyway.

Anyone notice that the number of transactions per day broke to the upside today? If Peter R is correct with the correlation between transactions and price either the correlation is starting to break or price is lagging and we will see a shot for $500 soon.

Either way I wouldn't be shorting atm.

XMR will be 500 USD? I proudly hodl small stash for zombie apocalypse case.

I'm of course speaking of btc. THis thread is a btc thread after all. Or are all or Risto's threads now Monero only since it is his new favourite pet?

Man, just mixed up all tabs. BTW want to believe.
