Hi ognasty, i suggest you wait for bear market to come again, gpu price will be more affordable at the time, buying now doesn't make any sense because ROI is what matters the most here, you can't find RX5700xt at a reasonable price right now, you gotta wait
For me, it doesn't make sense to wait a bear market to buy cards to mining I agree GPUs prices are insane, and it's good to find good deals, but at MRSP it's impossible at the moment, even manufacturers will increase price due to the scarcity of components The moment to make profits is now, I prefer to pay more on GPUs and gain more money, instead of buy with discount of 10% or 15% but gaining 10x less in a bear market This is something to think, and I'll say again, I disagree with prices, but there are people paying more for GPUs but making profits and in a few months the GPUs will be paid Maybe, just maybe, we will find some GPUs at the launch of new Nvidias You can't find good deals anywhere online right now, all good deals have sold out already, I spent over 2 hours going from one store to another through retailers but none is available, Msrp isn't no more, the best advice I can suggest is wait for RTX3060 12gb that will be available anytime from now and also it's msrp price is around 369$ or so. If the market stays up like it is...i doubt they will be sold at msrp....but i hope so. I expect the plain 3060 will not be as fast as the ti. But will need to get them to see.

i bought all my 3060 ti for 450usd and they do 61 mhs
Hi @buraz11, can you please tell us where you bought your RTX3060ti for 450$? I can afford one or two right now if the source is officially legit, also do you overclock the gpu to get 61mhs or that's what you get out of the box? Was posted to this message board Tuesday morning Newegg listed 600/pcs at $459. They sold very quickly. i snagged one and will arrive tomorrow 1/15 Gotta keep looking and get on the notify lists of vendors.

You sure the power supply isnt set to 220-240v and its on 110v or vis-versa?
The melted 24 pin mobo plug is scary.

Does it make any sense to cpu mine monero on my iMac? Any recommendations on pools and software? Many thanks!
It depends on the type of CPU you are running, if you are using ryzen cpu or core i9 cpu then it will make sense to mine Monero, don't bother mining on less powerful CPU because it won't worth your time and energy, XMRig is the best Monero miner I know Macs only have intel cpu or the newest have apple designed arm processors. ive not tested the m1 and dont plan too....there are no amd processors in any macs.

Yah got my tracking #....only gouged a bit over msrp...lucky us.

Im showing a gtx980ti is cuda 6.0. ... and you are using cuda 11.0 Thats all i notice right away....besides the fail near the bottom

I got on it early and mine was confirmed . Only bought 1....just wanted to try a 3060ti out. And that the first time ive seen them close to retail $399. Will arrive 1/19~1/22 Looks like that had about 600 coming in. Also appears they have some 6800XT coming but $1300 is too much for me. They showed delivering the same time frame. It will get better at some point...but im seeing chip shortages all over different industries not just gpu...ram and even automotive silicon is in short supply.

You can use xmrig for the mac its available on github. Google search it. Or this is what i used: https://github.com/XMRigCC/xmrigWhat is bad is the graphics card ive not been able to make mine...i have a physically damaged one with cracked monitor and bent up case...computer still works great...just use it to mine xmr as insurance covered the damage and just said to junk it.
|
|
|
I recommend after the rig has been running to do the hand test...using your hand touch the jackets on the power cables supply boards and risers etc. If they are warm be concerned. There should be not too much heat coming off them. If they are warm or jackets are soft due to temp...be concerned.

At that price it will take 140~160 days to ROI. About 5 months. But if prices fall on crypto it could take 2x-10x that to roi.
So its up to each person to decide if the risk is acceptable. I use the same logic i do if visiting Las Vegas...i never bet more than i can afford to lose.

So you have a coin using sha-256 same algo as btc....
So what keeps a big btc farm from pointing its hash power at this coin and 51% attacking it? Correction what keeps anyone with a single S9 from owning the network (worthless as it is).
I mean i know this coin is in no danger becuase to be honest the market cap is pitiful literally has no ranking (so not in top 5000 couns) and no clear market price. The exchange listed is not exactly anything...the exhanges total volume of all coins traded in 24hrs is less than $5000 TOTAL.
Total value of bitflate coin 24hrs.... $32...total...worldwide. And it appears that data is probably inflated.
Total miners on the NL pool ZERO Total miners on the cminers pool ..... 2
So total 2 miners. And they havent found a block since 12/25.

Look at ops posting history..nothing but asking about scams....innocently.....
|
|
|
Really...this hasnt been a thing for years..almost all the work is this year.
Thier github shows zero activity from june 2017 when it was created....until 2021.
This is such utter TRASH.

Have you tried another pool? Im thinking there is something you have to add to the miner command line for MPH pool. Try ethermine or nanopool and see if same problem.
|
|
|
I do not understand why you are mining on this pool? Workers Online: 1 Are you trying to solo mine with this hashrate? Can this ASIC connect to other large pools? Click miners. 162 on that pool. About 154mhs ... not solo mining. You can see his rewards for each block found. His Asic is a single miner so that is why you only see 1 miner...for him.

what this means? Its the date Jan 11th...and time miner has been running and time.

Which coin? X coin doesnt match anything i can find. Hard to help when its a mystery coin.
1) The reason they recommend not storing your coins on your node is because your node will be exposed to the network. Safer for your coins to be not on the machine running the node.
2) They are suggesting and its good advise to limit the ports open to the internet through your router/firewall. All of this it to try to prevent unauthorized access to your machine.
3) Sure all computers running consume power so will the node computer.
4) Cant answer without knowing what coin.
I never recommend buying things you can do yourself.
